It’s a very emotional story with characters that you can’t help getting involved with and caring for them. You feel their pain, sorrow, fear and your heart breaks into tiny pieces as you see them trying to find happiness and freedom.
Love seeing my loved characters from previous books and finding out how their lives are continuing together with their mates and families.

Great plot development. Kick butt action and oh so very hot, smoldering explicit sex. But it’s more than that….it’s the two mc’s in this story that worked for me and not forgetting the three female coyotes…I adored adored Ashley……………
Del-Ray & Anya are a formidable couple. This is no helpless female. She’s strong, independent, loyal, loving….I mean, she’s the Coya and she can run Haven, the Coyote community, very well on her own!!!!!!!! The author just brings these characters to life and they seem to weave their way into my heart.
Loved the dialogue and the connection between the Breeds. Discovering more secrets and meeting known characters and new ones as well is such a bonus for me.

wow, everything about Hope did it for Wolf,
even though he wanted to kill her…why???? Because she betrayed him but not really…she just had an evil Mom who just happened to be a WICKED SCIENTIST!!!!
Okay, I really enjoy erotic romance but after reading pages and pages of explicit sex (which I like as well) and not much of a plot, I’m like……
Perhaps if this had been a longer book – this was a novella of about 57 pages – I might have engaged with the two mc’s….. In my opinion, if I had not read this, I would not have missed much of the series. ...more

I quite like Tarek Jordan although he was a bit over-powering…but then that’s what happens when these super breed males finally meet their mate. I did feel for the torture he went through when held captive.
Now, Lyra, his next door neighbor – hum…spunky…well…virgin…….not that one would ever guess the way she gets into Tarek….okay, they have been neighbors for six months so I can’t exactly call her a slut!!!! I thought her a bit shallow at times. But hell, she makes Tarek happy, so who am I to even hold that against her!!! Thank heavens she eventually gave the poor man some of her fresh home baked bread and her “real” coffee…but it took her a while to do this act of kindness!!!!
Again, lots and lots of sex scenes which I am skipping some of them… Can’t wait for the next full length book!!! ...more

The story was a bit short for me to engage totally with them but I liked discovering more about the Breeds.
Of course there's lots of hot sex and "growling" and more........it's Lora Leigh after all....more

Kiowa is a coyote breed and I absolutely adored him. Such a sad and lonely life he had and I was happy that he found his mate...Amanda, the President's daughter. She did drive me a bit crazy in the beginning, but by the end I actually fell in love with her.
Loved meeting up with the characters I met in the previous book, especially Cassie. She's truly a magical being.

There is so much mating frenzies with hard-ons, arousals, clits, shafts….over so many pages…that after a while I skipped their sex encounters…because…basically it was one scene repeated over and over again…
“Kane, please.” She nearly screamed his name. She couldn’t bear the pitiless convulsions in her womb any longer. Her body was in demand and only one thing would or could ease it. “Please. Please, Kane. Fuck me. I’m begging you…” “Kane. God. I can’t stand it…” Her legs were trapped by her own clothing, her knees held wide by his hands as he devoured the thick syrup of her response, drawing it into his mouth, licking and groaning against her, delving into the blistering depths of her pussy for more She screamed his name as his tongue swiped through the bare slit of her cunt, a slow, appreciative lick as he hummed in pleasure. “Fuck. Addictive,” he groaned. “I’ve never forgotten, Sherra, your sweet taste, your heat. I’ll die needing you…”
But that’s just my opinion.
Kane & Sherra drove me insane at times.
“And all you have is a hard-on,” she sneered. “Jack off. At least you can find some relief there, Kane. There will be no satisfaction to be found in my body.” “I don’t think so, kitty,” he gritted out between clenched teeth as he came off the bed, stumbling for a second as his feet seemed to betray him. .
I can understand their tragic past and the pain they both endured in the labs……but there was so much hostility and bickering before they open up to each other and discover the real truth of what happened eleven years ago. I like the plot development and the world building, where we learn more and more about the Breeds World. Also enjoyed seeing characters from the previous books again and getting a peep into how their lives are progressing. ...more

The letter came at a time in his life when the battle inside his soul could have tipped either way.
The first opening line...memorable, broken, sad - the feelings it ignited in me were just unbelievable!!
My Momma says there might not really be fairies but it’s okay if I think there are. Cause nothing don’t exist if you don’t believe in it. And if you believe in it, then it’s real as sunshine. I believe in you, Dash.
Connected by an emotional bond, three people will have to fight enemies determined to destroy them, before they are able to find a place to live, to love and find peace and happiness. That’s what Cassie’s letters did for Dash Sinclair as he laid broken, physically and emotionally – they brought him back from the brink of death and giving him a chance for having a family at last. Dash Sinclair……MAN
Created in the Genetic Council labs and since his escape, has, without friends and family, been hiding under the radar of both the Breeds and Genetic Councils.
This was such an intense and emotional story. The love and courage of a mother fighting to keep her daughter safe from the Genetic Council scientists who have a huge interest in her daughter.
Elizabeth and her daughter have been on the run for a long time and finally Dash finds them after searching for months. Elizabeth and Dash are both broken and tortured by the things that have occurred in their pasts and so is Cassie. I loved seeing their interaction and building a family together. Their journey is filled with danger, suspense, love, secrets and we follow them on their journey to discovering the truth about their place in the Breeds. The mating frenzy continues….Elizabeth & Dash’s mating or rather lots of matings…yes…there are a lot and a lot more….so many times, so many pages that I gave up counting after a while. But what made this book for me was Cassie.
An extraordinary child who just grabbed at my heartstrings from the very beginning. She’s sweet, loving, brave, and feisty and the most beautiful sense of being. She’s been scarred, hurt, tortured and chased by really evil elements and despite her fears she faces them with such courage and strength.
Sleep, Cassie, the fairy whispered then, a gentle smile tilting her ghostly lips as a feeling of warmth accompanied the soft touch she made to Cassie’s forehead. Rest, little one, and know you were given a soul as bright and shining as your smile. Sleep. Cassie closed her eyes. As she felt the warmth slowly ease away she peeked from between her lashes and watched as the fairy stood to her feet and began to dissolve. Goodnight, Cassie. The soft glow eased away, leaving her alone as her lashes fluttered sleepily. “I’m a good girl, Bo Bo,” she whispered to the teddy bear as she hugged it tighter. “Momma says I am. And Momma doesn’t lie to me. Maybe not all Coyotes are bad. I’ll be a good one…”.
She has a special place and purpose in the Breeds world and I can’t wait to know more about her. ...more

I felt that there was more character and romance development with Taber and Roni. And of course, we know that there will be some and even lots of sizzling heat-filled pages…
“His soul exploded with the tip of his cock, spewing out an emotion, a need, a compulsive hunger as thick, hot and life-giving as the semen winging its way to her fertile, hungry womb.”
Wow, this author sure has a way with words!!!!! I liked Taber and Roni – the physical tension, the intense emotions
Roni: In a few short days, he had given her the very things she had longed for the most: his heart to nurture, his soul to protect, his body to enjoy and love to her heart’s content.
I loved the fun banter -
Taber: "Cats love cream, Roni," he whispered wickedly. "And I bet you have the sweetest cream in the whole damned world."
Roni: "I swear to God, Taber. I may not be woman enough for you, but if you leave me after this, I'll make you pay. I'll cut your black heart from your chest myself and I'll carve your c**k into so many pieces you'll never find them all."
Mating frenzy, lots of growling and mewling, lots of wet and drenching sex moments, lots of the sex barb appearances…….betrayals, violence, action, loyalty and an amazing feeling of family between the Breed members -
I loved seeing characters from the 1st book. The Breed Colony has been set up in Virginia, after Callan and his pride had gone public, hoping that they would finally be free and safe. But this has not happened – the threat has increased and dangerous times still follow them as the Genetics Council continues in the pursuit to continuing with their experiments.
Lora Leigh has introduced us to a fascinating world of human/feline characters that entice you, with intriguing story-lines that pull you right in.
We continue learning more about this world as we are given little hints and clues throughout the stories, leaving you wanting to start on the next book to find out …what next in the human/
Although not exactly mad about this story, it was somewhat an okay read. I just could not engage with the characters, even the mc’s. There was so much conflict and antagonism between them and only near the end, did they resolve their so called “issues.” Merinus drove me absolutely “batty” with all her “I want you”, “I hate you”…geez girl, make up your mind!!
Not that Lyon was any better, apart from his “animal” instincts saying the “Mine” thing…. I didn’t feel any passion between these two. I so wanted to know what made them “tick”, but I never got that.
Okay, so I knew this was a sexy and erotic series and I do like great and well-written sex scenes…….but Wow…….plot…forget that….sex…yes there was that….and lots and lots and lots of it……possibly more sex pages than anything else. Why did
I not find those scenes interesting….some might say there are some pretty hot ones….but…and that …vagina and c@** words just irritated me to...wherever!!! So much so that after a few of those “hot” scenes, I skimmed and skipped most of the remainder in the story.
The character development lacked something for me…..I felt totally disconnected from any of them….I never “felt” for them. The plot…there were so many things that were left hanging….how did Callan and his group be hiding so well and still live in a town?? How did they get there?
Hopefully, I will get those answers in the next books. ...more

All Navy SEAL Nathan Malone had to do was rescue three young girls from a Columbia drug cartel, then allow himself to be captured just long enough to draw out a government spy. That was before his mission went disastrously wrong . . . and before his wife, Bella, was told that Nathan was never coming home. A dangerous desire . . . Bella’s mourned her husband’s death for three long years. But she has no idea he’s still alive. Forced to assume a new identity, the man Nathan was is now dead. If he can get back to his wife, can he keep the secret of who he really is . . . even as desire threatens to consume them? And as danger threatens to tear Bella from Nathan’s arms once more?
MY THOUGHTS I have been a huge fan of Lora Leigh since I first read her Bound Hearts , Men of August and the Breeds Series, which I have absolutely loved reading. However, her Seals/Special Ops Series have never grabbed my interest enough to want to read them. But then, digging through my TBR pile found this book that I have no idea where or when I actually purchased it. So decided…why not???
What a pleasant surprise Wild Card, was, hooking me into the story from the first page!!!
It’s a heart-warming yet intense love story, where good triumphs over evil and that real and true love never dies.
Nathan/Noah is emotionally and physically broken after spending years of torture and pain at the ends of very wicked and evil monsters but the love for his wife never wavered. What he experiences are so horrendous and at times far too much to even imagine and still the most important thing for him is to ensure that Sabella is safe and happy and is prepared to do this even if it means giving up his own life for hers. Still tortured and trying to return to a normal life…what a hard and at the end, just a joyful journey for him.
Sabella has never given up hope that her husband is still alive, despite being told that he was killed during the mission to rescue him. Oh to feel such pain and loss and still have such a deep and undying love for Nathan. She’s a very engaging and admirable character, with a strong sense of right and wrong.
When Nathan/Noah & Sabella are reunited….emotional, having to come to terms with all the issues regarding his “death” and now appearance….and to realize how deep and strong their love was…how much more amazing could it be????
I liked the family storyline – Nathan’s family, his colleagues and their wives - these characters just keep pulling you in….you can’t help liking them. There are some great interactions between them that showed the love for each other and with a bit of added humor, which distracted you a bit from all the action and murders and plots in the story.
The plot was fast paced, action packed and some really beyond evil villains, twists and turns that kept me on my toes and surprised to the end. Even though the story had some wild and unbelievable moments, one is left with a feeling that …hey….who says it couldn’t happen!!!!
Naturally being a Lora Leigh book you just know that there is going to be some real hot, scorching, sizzling and erotic scenes….of course there are!!!!!! And a lot of them………one scene I remember takes almost 10 pages before finally having the two fall asleep!!!!!!!
Just a little “niggle” for me …..okay, I get Nathan is the uber alpha-male, wanting to protect his woman…but this woman is no weakling…she’s not going to break that easily…in saying that I did kind of forgive him…just a little…understandable after what he went through those dark years.
Well…turned the last page….and now off to start on book 2……as they say…I’m hooked on these men and their women! ...more

However a friend gave me two books and I decided to check out how good they were. Hidden Agendas was an enjoyable read but I found a few things that irritated and bored me which had me skipping some pages.
Emily Stanton, is daughter of a senator and has had a crush on Kell Krieger, a Navy Seal, who just so happens to have been so totally in love with her since he first met her, a few years ago, when he was part of the team that rescued her from the evil South American drug lord who had kidnapped her and two other women.
Now I am made to believe that these two have known each other for years, yet when Emily, who wants to be a writer and part of her research, is to get the feel of what a lap dancer is all about. So she goes off to the worst dive in town for lessons and now she has to show if she has learnt everything. Kell, who has been following her, bribes his way into being the man used as a prop for the lap dance. Okay, so here’s wearing sunglasses and hey, Emily can’t believe that a man she doesn’t even know is turning her on so much that she comes in her panties right in front of the sexy guy!!!!! Really. Non!!!
Then, the two main characters. Emily is one of those heroines that annoys me…a feisty, smart virgin, who is totally controlled by her father and one day, suddenly goes from “yes daddy” to “get lost daddy, I’m a big girl now and I will not tolerate you running my life”. And all that “oh he turns me on but I can’t let him control me” rubbish with Kell.
And Kell, more than irritated me…….all that wanting to control Emily because that’s the only way he can make sure she is safe….pluzzzzzzzz…. This author knows how to write hot erotic scenes but I found myself totally disconnected whenever these “two did it”…just did not engage with them or what happened to them.
Some parts of the plot were so implausible – talk about far-fetched…there’s Emily, back in the drug lord’s clutches but this time…no little passive senator’s daughter…she kicks ass now!!!
I must admit that I enjoyed the last part of the story…the bad guys are revealed and more tidbits thrown your way….some new mystery to solve..Hopefully in the next book…..
which I have to now read because –
I LOVED KIRA & IAN…….and I have to know what happens to them. ...more

Mecury Warrant is oneMercury’s War is Lora Leigh’s 16th book in the Breeds Series and it’s a really great story. This is one of my favourites so far.
Mecury Warrant is one of the greatest breeds ever created (read Lion Dna!!!) who we have met in previous books has been assigned to work with Ria Rodriguez, the representative of Leo Vanderdale (THE ALPHA LEO of the breed) discover who the traitor is in Sanctuary that is sending secret information on the Breeds to their enemies. There are a lot of secrets revealed in this book.....Ria’s secret life, the death of Mercury’s mate years ago, the problems with mate heat...you have to read the books to fully understand this phenomena......more about Cassie...gorgeous and interesting....Jonas Wyatt, the head of the Breed Society, and so many more characters we know from before and new ones appearing which I am sure we will get to know soon.
I thought Ria was a fabulous heroine....hiding behind her boring clothes and hairstyle, lived a woman with heart and loads of sensuality and incredible strength....a mate worthy of a lion like Mercury, the ultimate alpha-hero/breed who knows she is his true mate even though there are problems involving this matter.... The banter between each other was really fun....such a lovable couple. They are unable to keep away from each other.....and wow wow.....the sex scenes...and I mean there are a lot of them...ripping each other’s clothes, doing it in the office...scorching hot!!!!!!!!!! Lora Leigh knows how to write unbelievable sensual, sexy, hot, sizzling sex in her books!!!!!!!!!!
I am fascinated by this magical breed world that the author has created. Part human/animal society that just wants to believe that there is a place for them in this world and that they do indeed have a soul. I love these people....they are so intense, loyal, able to love beyond measure and their closeness as a group is really admirable. There’s suspense, drama, action, romance and sex in these books.
Ooh loved the mention that Ria lives in Johannesburg, South Africa.....that’s my city!!!!!!!!! And this book is definitely in my Favourites shelf of my bookcase
Can’t wait to read my next book on these gorgeous males and their equally beautiful mates. ...more

Styx, the red hairedI am amazed how Lora Leigh manages to find the twists and plots in her Breed Series and Styx’s Storm, book 22 has that and more.
Styx, the red haired wolf breed (born from DNA of a dead Scottish warrior and a red wolf) ...note I am not too crazy about red-haired men...but wow this is some sexy, hunk that is known for his love of chocolate and irresistible to women...and he’s trained in martial arts too!!!!. He has been part of the Breed team that has been on the trail of Storme Montague for years as she is the holder of a data chip that could save the Breed population from extinction.
Storme must be one of the most unlikeable and irritating characters so far in this series. Okay, one can understand her feelings towards breeds because of what happened to her father and brother when she was 14...but wow....how far can that hate go...and let me tell you...she makes no excuses about her hatred. She’s a vocal breed racist!!!! But wait.....does that stop her from doing it with Styx ?the very thing she hates with a vengeance....no, not even when she discovers how he betrays her on their first meeting and is taken as a prisoner to the local breed headquarters called Haven....you got to love the names...sanctuary...haven!!!!!! Have to admit that I began to like her as I got to know her back-story and the trauma she experienced at such an early age. She redeemed herself at the end as she embraced the people she had always believed were animals but instead lead lives like any other human.
Styx is so patient and sweet with Storme...never gives up on her....she is the woman who will complete him.... and will do anything to protect her even if he has to be ostracized from the breed community – even dying for her...though he did have to work hard at gaining her trust and love...certainly not getting her in one night!!!!!!! The sex is as hot and sexy as in previous book...but Styx wants more than just that...he wants her to realize that they are soul mates and meant to be with each other.
I really enjoy the appearance of characters from previous book appearing in the story.....Cassie, wow can she be a minx....i can’t wait for her book, Jonas Wyatt and his lovely wife...finally he’s found his mate....and loved loved the Wolf Alpha and his lupina (wife in our language!!), Styx’s grandfather....what a fabulous and interesting character.....i hope we get to know more about him in the future........and Navarro......omg....this is a beyond awesome male.......I am dying to read his story. Also like the link between the different breeds and their lives and how their lives are closely intertwined with each other....
Book Blurb: When Storme Montague’s father and brother are killed by the Breeds, her father’s research is also destroyed — except for a crucial data chip that both the Council and the Breeds would kill to possess. Betrayed to the Council, she is rescued by Styx, a Wolf Breed who is different from most other Breeds she has ever known. Storme has something he wants too — but it’s not a data chip. ...more

AThis book had been lying around for awhile until I decided if I wanted to read another Breed Series of which there are quite a few by other authors. Although I have read Lora Leigh’s erotic books published by Ellora’s Cave, which I absolutely love, I had never read any of her other books. Tanner’s Scheme is the 3rd book in the Breed Series and I would have liked reading them in order but I was able to catch up with some of the previous stories and WOW….was this a hot smoking read!!!!!!!!! Tanner is one gorgeous Bengal…a member of a group of humans whose DNA was mixed with genes from various feline species in labs run by very evil humans. He’s a suave, smooth talking guy and has been spying on Scheme Tallant’s life for years waiting for an opportunity to destroy her and her father. Scheme is the daughter of a very evil, one time high ranking member of the Genetics Council and is determined to do everything, including killing his wife and child in his mission of eliminating all the Breeds. The Breeds believe that Scheme works side by side with her father for him to reach his goal.
Tanner is determined to do something about obtaining information from Scheme and he kidnaps her just before she is nearly killed by her ex lover, on her father’s orders. He takes her to his hideout in the mountains and will not release her until she tells him all her father’s plans. What he doesn’t realize is that Scheme has been working as a double agent for the Breeds and has important information that is crucial to the safety of the Breeds. He discovers that she is not the person he thought….he has always believed that she’s like her father and promiscuous (he has been watching her having sex with different men and knows exactly what she does with and to them!!!)..in fact she has suffered tremendous torture from her father..beatings, forced abortion of her baby and even buried alive.
Things have a way of going somewhere you never thought they would go….they are unable to fight the attraction they feel for each other and Tanner soon realizes that she is his mate and cannot keep away from her. The sex scenes…and there are many, many…are sizzling hot, steamy, sexy….they can’t keep away from each other.
I loved Scheme….such courage, strength and despite the sad, painful and terrible life she has had, never gives up. She is really a fantastic heroine…so alone most of her life and when she finds love, still having so much to overcome.
Tanner is your typical alpha-male….everything his way….but what redeems him in my eyes is the deep feelings he has for Scheme and will do anything, including giving up his life, to protect the woman he loves.
Great plot…..non-stop action, lots of sex (have I mentioned that before!!!!!)and lots of romance too!!!
I loved this book and wished I could have discovered this series earlier….but I am going out now, right now to look for more Breeds stories!!!! ...more
