Tied, 4th book in this fabulicious series…………ends with a wedding
and a HEA for Drew, Kate and their gorgeous baby……. But before the wedding…we get the bachelor/bachelorette party in Las Vegas
"My Las Vegas bachelor party. . . The night before you ship off to war or, if you're a woman, start a diet."
what an unforgettable weekend…… I am actually quite sad to say au revoir to Drew
”"I think we can all agree I was pretty frigging awesome before. . . but now I'm even better."
brash, cocky, sexy, smooth talker, charmer, manipulator, naughty and totally IRRESISTABLE….did I leave out UNFORGETABLE????
And not forgetting Kate….she’s just pure awesomeness
They are really a fabulous couple – sexy, gorgeous and totally hilarious together – their banter is beyond incredible
"She's perfect. It shouldn't surprise me--I know what she looks like. But still, every view of Kate's firm tits, her flat waist, her toned, smooth legs, revs me up like a kid getting his first glimpse of porn. Because she's mine. Because she's amazing. Because she wants me as badly as I want her."
I loved all the characters in this series….Dee Dee, Mackenzie, Alexandra, Mathew, Warren, the parents, the crazy friends….quirky, endearing and totally engaging.
A hilarious, witty and sexy read that put a smile on my face and had me roaring out loud loads of times….
Some of my favorite quotes:
Still don’t get it? Must not have kids then. See, children are beautiful precious. Angelic. Particularly hen they’re sleeping. They’re disturbed mid-sleep-cycle however? They’re monsters. Irritable angry little beasts who bear a striking resemblance to gremlins fed after midnight.
The road to this day wasn’t all rainbows and boners. There were some potholes – mistakes – misunderstanding worthy of a Greek fucking tragedy.
So, Drew, Kate and little James…..here’s to your happiness together…
now, please can we get Warren & Lily’s book next????????????? (less)

Temperance Brennan , forensic anthropologist and member of Charlotte’s Cold Case Unit is working on a disappearance and death of young girls that have the same characteristics of the murders by the evil and wicked Anique Pomerleau that evaded being caught by Tempe and Detective Andrew Ryan and now seems to resurface in Charlotte, continuing a murder spree. We first met this serial killer in Monday Mourning.
Despite a bit of a slow start, it soon speeds up and we are taken on a fast paced and tension filled trip as we try to guess who the villain is…..i did have a feeling of the identity, which just by the way, I was right about…but there are still some surprises left in the end.
I adored Tempe’s mother…..and her computer saviness….in fact she was my favorite character in this book and I just hope we get more of her in the next books. Not sure about Det. Siddell….he’s a pretty weird character and some of his comments are so just out there!!!!
I loved seeing Andrew Ryan back in Tempe’s life. He’s going through a really tough time after the death of his daughter and I would really like to see these two together again. I wonder how their relationship will develop.
Naturally, with the “cliffhanger” at the end….I will just have to read book #18! (less)

Bones of the Lost is the 16th book in the Temperance Brennan Series and the one I have liked the least.
I like Temperance but I just could not engage with her …..Is she a forensic anthropologist or a police detective???? Apart from doing some forensic work on mummified dogs…yes, I kid you not…she spends the entire time solving cases on her own because the cops are not doing it right……
She becomes involved in a hit and run death of an unidentified teenage girl, travels to Afghanistan to work on skeletons of two locals killed by a US soldier and meets up and goes shopping with her daughter, who has joined as a soldier in said Afghanistan……yes, there are shops in the US base!!!!!
And the whole thing with Ryan, her ex Canadian detective??? He’s going thru a dark and painful time and what does Tempe do??? Nothing…..she just carries on with her life…dealing with her totally idiotic ex-husband and bimbo to be new wife!!!!
There is such a lot of technical stuff that after a while….I just kept skipping pages so I could get to the end of this very boring story. Oh, and Tempe doing a “HIGH-FIVE”….what!!!!!
I hope the next book will be better and more like the first ones in the series. (less)

That’s me reading Kim Lawrence’s new book, One Night with Morelli!!! You see, it had me all over the place………..I just couldn’t get these two MC’s!! They were just so off the wall from the usual M&B characters.
Let’s see it I am able to make some sense here…..
Draco Morelli is a gorgeous Italian millionaire..
and yes, he’s a ruthless guy, alpha-male but he has this side to him that is totally endearing. He’s a fabulous father to his teenage daughter (such a lovable secondary character), he’s never mean to his horrible slutty ex-wife..in fact he stays friends with her for the daughter’s sake, he’s not jaded and cynical despite past relationships with women..and yes, he doesn’t do relationships or love…now, he only does You are getting the idea that I like Draco???
Now about Eve Curtis….she’s like this gorgeous and sexy redhead but wait, she thinks that she’s not!!!! How that is possible for someone who is totally independent and owner of a sexy underwear designer company just blows my mind…yes, sexy underwear…something like Victoria’s Secret… But then she doesn’t trust men…look what happened to her mother!!! Falling pregnant with Eve when she worked for some rich sod, who told her to get an abortion, she’s now marrying her new boss because she’s pregnant. You kind of understand Eve’s idea of men….not for her…but wait that does not mean she’s a lesbian….not even close!!! Because when she starts noticing, really noticing sexy Draco….everything she thought just flies out the window!!!
She can’t understand why she has all these feelings for Draco…
what, are you stupid girl!!! He’s the perfect man…oh yes, sorry Eve, you do not do love, relationships, men…..because you have a lot of men issues!!!!
Of course they get together!!!!
He’s sexy, not pushy and domineering……and it helps that he’s hot in bed..he’s Italian after all!!
Swept off her feet…..but boy does Draco have to work at the relationship!! This is not an instant love at first sight…no no….this is a get to know each other and fall in love forever!!!
Let me think….
Did I enjoy Draco & Eve’s love story??? Surprisingly I did……………okay, there was a bit of long-winded inner monologues, yes, no….but somehow the characters were very endearing…..and I adored the epilogue. WISHING YOU HAPPY TIMES DRACO & EVE!!!!!!!!!!!! (less)

He's now become one of my fav action heroes..... And Boxers, Venice (pronounced 've-nee-chay') and characters we have become familiar with and some interesting new ones which I look forward to seeing more of.
The new rescue mission is to find a teenager and his lady bodyguard before they are captured by the baddies…see Graham Mitchell, 14 year old son of murdered scientists holds a secret that could cause the end of the world!!!!
Russian mob, FBI, CIA, Chechnyan rebels, mad scientists, double agents, torture, murder…….follow the fleeing duo ….and the Security Solutions team hot on their trail as well…..lucky for Jolaine & Graham they have the avenging angel and savior on their side !!!
Fast paced, action packed, twists and turns and many surprises, despite the fact that the plot was a bit confusing at times. The ending was something I was not expecting……but then it involves one of my least favorite characters in this series. Can’t wait to see where the author will take it from there in the next book... I am totally engaged with the characters - Jonathan Grave aka Scorpion is totally endearing.....super tough-alpha male with a heart and Brian Van de Meulebroeke known as Boxers.. ….hell, his credo…kill and ask questions later!!!!!
So, here we have the team called in by their good secret friend, Irene Rivers, head of FBI aka Wolverine to find the First Lady who has disappeared and feared being kidnapped by some really bad people…
The plot seems a bit far-fetched at times….a First Lady who happens to have some dark past…like she was a Russian terrorist in her youth and voila…is now at the White House…

From the book’s opening chapters you know you are going on another thrilling adventure with Jonathan “Digger” Grave aka Scorpion and Brian Van de Meulebroeke – known as Boxers which will take you to the jungles of Mexico, have run-ins with drug cartels, new religion movements, shot at by Mexican and US police and having to save their PC (not that does not mean politically correct….read the series and find out what it means….) the sole survivor of a massacre.
Character development at its best…..of previous characters we have met in previous books to new ones…here we have Tristan Wagner, scared survivor trying to deal with something he has no understanding of.
The relationship between Jonathan and Boxers is really amazing and I love their interaction and dialogue.
I can’t wait for book 5 of this series which has become a favorite of mine. (less)

When a woman and her son are kidnapped and held hostage by a sinister military group calling themselves the “Army of God”, Jonathan and his team are soon onto their new mission to rescue them before they are killed by the secret cult-like society bent on bringing destruction and death to America.
A kick-ass and adrenalin filled plot, with strong and memorable characters that it’s impossible to put down. (less)
An intricate, multilayered plot with several storylines woven into the story beginning with the kidnapping of two teenage boys from a school for children of incarcerated parents, which Jonathan has a vested interested in, it soon leads him and his team into the world of corrupt politicians, drug lords and the cocaine factories in Colombia.
The story moves along at a great pace filled with suspense and intrigue with twists and turns at every corner.
The obstacles the team faces seem at times so farfetched but the author somehow makes it seem plausible and believable. Never mind that I am totally out of my depth when it comes to all the gadgets and military tactics that we are shown in the story….it comes together in a way that doesn’t detract from the plot.
The character development is great with some memorable characters that you can’t help engaging with.
Enjoyed the dialogue and interaction between the characters and Jonathan Grave's continually unfolding back-story,
Some quotes that I liked -
“'All that is necessary for evil to triumph is that good men do nothing'?"”
“You have to learn to cope with the reality of what is, he heard Father Dom telling him. When bad things happen to us”
“He remembered his drill sergeant from a million years ago in Basic Training telling him that the only life worth living is the one worth dying to protect.
“Harry Truman had said it best: If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog.”

Wow, 1st book in the series, and I’m hooked.
Jonathan Grave is a wealthy ex-Delta Force soldier, now owner of Security Solutions that deals in doing freelance and covert hostage rescue missions with connections to FBI.
The book opens with a rescue operation gone bad and soon becomes immersed in trying to locate his ex wife’s husband who has gone missing. This is a hero who is not afraid to take out the bad guys even if it means breaking the law…..as long as he saves the good guys. Together with his side-kicks, Boxers and Venice, we are taken on an exhilarating ride as they race against time to stop the nefarious villains from destroying the world.
Great secondary characters which are well-developed, action packed and a fast paced plot filled with suspense and intrigue that grabs you from page 1. (less)

Isabel Peters, a Manhattan TV journalist, is such a likeable heroine. Even when she’s feeling that her life is in limbo and despite her insecurities, fears and flaws, she does not give up on her dreams and hopes. She’s not afraid to take chances and prepared to face her fears and overcome them.
Leandros Alexios Constantinou..billionaire, ex football star -love his name – is not the usual domineering, take charge alpha male…he’s an alpha with heart. He actually listens to the heroine for a change.
In London on the trail of the elusive Constantinou, needing to get an exclusive interview from him, which will get her promoted to her dream TV newscaster job.
Fate steps in!!! Stranded for hours in an elevator with the most gorgeous man she’s ever met, she takes a chance, grabs the moment….
All right." He laid his fork down with a deliberate movement and pushed his plate away. "Let's talk about what happened."
Gladly. She took another sip of her wine to fortify herself and set the glass down.
"That kiss shouldn't have happened."
She was ready for that one. "Why not?
"I'm much more experienced than you, Isabel. I'm not interested in relationships, in fact mine never last longer than a few months, and the women I date are well aware of that."
He did a double take at the belligerent note in her voice. "You're also probably still in shock from what happened today."
"I'm absolutely fine," she countered. "In fact I feel like I have more clarity right now than I've ever had in my life."
But what happens, after they spend one night of passion and discover who each other is?
I loved the flow of the story and the development of the characters as they both fight their pasts and obstacles. Taking a chance, Believing in your feelings and that nothing is impossible.
The interaction and dialogue between Isabel (no, no Izzie for me…I hate that nickname!) are really great.
She shook her head. "I'm not looking for a relationship, Alex." A husky laugh escaped her. "In fact, that's the last thing I need right now."
His eyes narrowed. "Then what are you looking for?"
"I don't want to live with any more regrets."
He shook his head, a wry smile curving his lips. "You're twenty-five, Isabel. How many regrets can you have?"
She took a deep breath, meeting his gaze head-on. "I will regret it if I walk away from tonight without exploring the attraction that's between us."
A muscle jumped in his jaw. He sat there completely silent, staring at her. "I'm not sure you know what you're doing."
She shook her head. "I know exactly what I'm doing."
Awesome settings….my favs….Alexious view of London from his Canary Wharf penthouse and his Malibu home…that view…never mind that…that pool….
Emotional, sizzling chemistry, intense, great plot….those are just some of the things that worked for me. I am definitely going to be reading more from this author. (less)

The 14th novel in Gabriel Allon series and just like the last few books, a bit disappointing.
Stolen art, corrupt Syrian politicians, murder….what an exciting premise I thought>
But not that much excitement to be found…the first half was slow and nothing really happens. I kept threatening myself to giving the rest a miss….but it picked up somewhat. I know we can’t expect every book in a series to be awesome but I was hoping it would be a bit more captivating. At least we get more of Chiara, Gabriel’s wife. I still find her one of the most interesting female protagonists. I want more Gabriel Allon and hopefully the next book will grab me again. (less)

Alexandra Cooper, ADA and prosecutor in the sex crimes division and Detective Mike Chapman are investigating two brutal murders in NYC
A young woman’s mutilated headless body is set on fire and left burning on the steps of Harlem’s Mount Neboh Baptist Church. When another dead woman’s body is found at the Old St Patrick’s Cathedral in Little Italy, it becomes clear that the two churches, used by the killer as his crime scenes, has religious message. Tightly written mystery delving into religion, church institutions, teaching church institutions, feminism, views on women in the priesthood,
"Ursula questioned everything. When the word came from Rome that barring women from the priesthood wasn't a human-rights issue, it was Ursula who stood up to the Magisterium. 'Is it because we don't have rights?' she asked. 'Or is it because we're not human?'"
filled with twists, turns and surprises. Interlaced with sub plots giving us a glimpse of Alexandra in a courtroom, prosecuting a priest of sexual abuse and it was good she is during her cross-examination of a bishop, who may be part of a cover-up in the case. We also see how she deals with a rape investigation that has proved the young woman to be lying and what she does to resolve the issue. I just love her no-nonsense attitude. Interesting history of some of NYC”s churches and landmarks, Penikese Island
, where Alexandra finds herself in a very dangerous situation as she battles to save the killer’s next victim…..and Cape Cod
provide a great backdrop to the story. Alexandra Cooper is a brilliant character that I have come to like a lot- she’s independent, intelligent, a great friend and not afraid to stand up for herself. I just wonder about her choice in men…..Luc Rouget, chef extraordinaire, sexy and French….is an across the ocean relationship….same as her previous newscaster lover……it’s as if she prefers not being totally invested in these men….. I think that another problem is Mike Chapman……..there is definitely a sexual tension between the two…..but it just seems to keep dragging on and on…and nothing happening. Mike’s frustration is palpable….his snarky remarks to Alex are at times really awful…..he can be a total ass that I begin to think that maybe she should just give him a miss!!!!! I always enjoy this author’s books and this is another well-written mystery in this series. (less)

But Rival’s Challenge, being written by one of my favorite authors, was an immediate go for me. How could I go wrong? Weaving a story of passion, fear, loss, family obligations, honor, trust and love, filled with some interesting and quirky characters that takes us into the glamorous and exciting world of luxury hotels and family secrets.
Orla Kennedy, daughter of the Kennedy Hotel empire built by her father and now facing huge problems and Antonio Chatsfield, charged with negotiating the take-over of some of the Kennedy hotels by his family’s Chatsfield Hotels group, both have some serious family issues. Wow, first chapter and we have some serious heat!!
One night of hot and mind-blowing and explicit sex when they meet for the first time…...tossing all the pressures behind them, they spend one night together, without revealing their names to each other. All hell breaks loose when they discover their true identities. Orla looks nothing like she did the night before…surprise…..
Fighting the attraction and the feelings of who to trust and believe, we are taken on a fabulous journey to great settings, where Orla & Antonio try to find their happiness together without betraying their families. I really connected with these two characters and loved the way they worked through all the misunderstandings and heartache. Liked that Orla was independent and strong and not someone looking for her prince to save her…..And just adored Antonio…he was loving and caring…..surprising Orla with something she has always dreamed off…..
(view spoiler)[ Orla has always lived in her family’s hotels and has always dreamed of one day having her own home…which Antonio buys as a present for her…it was such a sweet and lovely scene…loved it.. Alex Cooper, Mike Chapman & Mercer Wallace are thrown into the world of art, art dealers and art galleries as they follow a trail of the most dislikeable art world characters ever, who have links to the dead woman, in tracking in killer before he strikes again.
Set in the gritty and dangerous streets of NYC
we are given an insight into the dark and greedy art world, filled with rapacious collectors, fraud, theft and art forgery.
Twists and turns, lies and danger that almost kill Mercer as he and Alex are faced with dangerous killers who will stop at nothing to stop secrets being revealed.
I enjoy the relationship between the three and I am not sure where Alex’s affair with a famous newscaster will lead because I think underneath there’s a lot going on between her and Mike Chapman. Oooh I did love the Martha’s Vineyard part……I can just imagine her house on the beach

The heroine, Sasha, is a totally kick-ass, who despite the knocks in her life, is determined and fearless in reaching her goal of becoming the first female racing driver in the Espiritu racing team. Millionaire ex racing driver and now owner of the team is forced, after his brother’s accident, to choose Sasha, despite his reluctance to do so as he believes that she’s the cause of the crash, to replace him as the lead driver of the team as she’s proved herself to being the best.
A great and fresh storyline set in glamorous locations with fabulous interaction between the h/h. Some of Sasha’s one-liners had me in fits of laughter. Both come with their baggage – there’s some sad history, which slowly unfurls and we see Marco trying desperately to fight the feelings he has for Sasha and seeing her gradually breaking the armor he has built around himself, is really amazing. Lots of misunderstandings….geez, Marco behaves rather badly towards Sasha that made me question..Why the hell did she want to be with this guy????? So cynical…
I”I stopped believing in free a long time ago Sasha. There are always consequences. The piper always expects payment.”
But of course, he does that because he’s had some really painful things happen in his past. But the past certainly hasn’t changed Sasha’s view on life……
I don’t believe that. Laughter is free. Love is free. It’s the hate that eats up inside. Bitterness that twists feelings if you let them.”
And as we know, LOVE CONQUERS ALL. The background of motor racing is very well written and researched. I learnt quite a lot about this sport, which I am not exactly mad about…except for the gorgeous drivers, of course……and having a gorgeous female driver was totally fab. I really liked this book.
