The story is about Saber a Dark vampire and his destiny Vanya.
Saber is a Dark vampire, has been for 800 long years. Hes dark, mean, evil and he doesn't care who knows it. He gets captured by the Light vampires for some bad stuff he did in the previous book (Blood Shadows). He was sentenced to burn in the sun light. Come that time, The light vamps stand by to witness the execution, but to their utter surprise Saber does NOT burn in the sun (only light vampires can walk in the sun). Saber finds out he is NOT a dark vamp, he actually is a light vamp that was stolen by a dark vamp when he was a baby. He is in disbelief and denial, all that he knows is crumbling around him. He is defiant even as the blood moon fills the sky with his symbol.
Vanya is a long ago princess from the times when the curse started. She was kept safely in sleep (along with her older sister) to save their lives. She knows the curse and what it entails. Vanya sees the blood moon in the sky and then feels the burn on her wrist indicating she is indeed the chosen destiny of some light vampire she is excited until she finds out who her intended is.
Omg, the road that the author took Saber down to change himself was emotional. The author did such a good job in redeeming Sabers character. He doesn't know how to love or care about emotions. He never learned that from his upbringing. She kept his character genuine for the most part. His road was not easy, he was constantly waging an inner battle with himself. Sometimes it takes an event so devastating that even an evil being such as Saber will open his eyes and start questioning things.
Vanya had a similar road, could she really be with a monster? After everything he has done? She also waged a inner war with herself. Her breaking point (were she knew she wanted to be with Saber) was utterly classic! Omg it was great! I am talking about a determined woman who knows what she wants!
The relationship that builds between the two even though they are total opposites of each other was built up. It was not love at first sight.
Saber and Vanya were great together. They are by far my most favorite couple in the series.
I just loved this book, Blood redemption had everything I look for in a paranormal romance. I can not wait until the next book! The story is getting goooood! (less)

This book is a continuation of a long developing in-depth story line where there is war brewing between the third species (Vampires, Lycans, and witches) and the humans (and whoever else is wanting to get rid of the third species). This story follows Jask Tao, the unbelievably HOT Lycan leader, and Sophia (a newly rare Serryn witch).
Sophia - In the beginning (First 16 or so percent) Sophia got on my last nerve, I had a hard time relating to why in the world she was acting so childish. I like to relate to the characters and try to understand why they act the way they do. (because by 50 percent and they still get on my nerves and it seems the character is not evolving I DNF it). She turned out to be one of my favorite heroines. The author did not drag the childish act out. Sophia carried a lot of guilt over a lot of stuff that has happened in her life. (her mothers death, her grief, the way she shut her sisters out) She was the kinda of person that acted out first then thought it through.
Jask - He is the fearless leader of the Lycans and he will do anything to protect them. He was Alpha right from the start to finish. But even though he put up a good face with everyone he too carried a lot of guilt from past mistakes that he kept bottled up. We got introduced to Jask in the first book and I knew he would be great character.
Holy Shit this was a good book! So much information and emotion in this one. The story is getting so gooood. I absolutely LOVED the relationship between Sophia and Jask. It was quite the journey for them two. The way the characters evolved with each other was so heart warming. Their love for each other felt real. And OMG the sex was goooood. We get a look at the Lycan side of Blackthrorn and it did not disappoint! I love the Lycans. And I would not complain at ALL if the author decides to do another Lycan story.... just saying. :D This was by far the best in the series. (less)

I have had it on my TBR list for sometime now. All this time I thought it might be a YA book due to the cover. The cover looks YA'ish to me. The models look young, not portraying a 400 year old hot and sexy vamp and a 29 year old woman. yeah yeah its just a cover but I am guilty of basing a book by its cover. But this is NOT YA ~ what I got was a story that was involving, dark, twisting, sexy and very steamy. It had betrayal, suspense, and action.
Caitlin ~ the heroine of the story. She works for VCU (Vamp Control Unit) which track down rogue or dangerous vampires. Her ability is being able to read other world creatures with no soul (vamps and lycans). Kane is on the most wanted list, she decides she is going to try and bring him in even though everyone else in her department has failed. She has another purpose of tracking him down, her parents have died mysteriously 7 years apart and she believes that she is next. She hopes Kane can give her the answers she needs. I admit she got on my nerves about 50 percent of the times were I wanted to just slap her! But towards the end she did pick up and I ended up liking her.
Kane ~ the hero of the story. He is a master vampire. Many are scared of him, and those who have gotten close have died. I just loved/hated Kane. He was sexy and intriguing. He had that evil vibe. You just never knew what he was up to or if he meant what he said. He was full of mystery. He ends up kidnapping her, He has plans for Caitlin and has only 4 days to complete it. But in those 4 days they both start to fall in love, Kane starts to open up, secrets start to come out, Caitlin starts to learn the truth about loved ones.
My thoughts: Kane is not your normal paranormal hero were he gets all mushy, changes his whole attitude etc. He pretty much is set in his ways. He knows what he wants and the purpose Caitlin plays in it. They both have had an attraction to each other ever since she took the job to capture him. I liked the dark vibe the story had.
I do wish there was more to the ending though, yes its a HEA, but I felt it was kinda wrapped up to fast.
Really enjoyed this book will defiantly be reading the second!(less)

Lots of emotions from the hero/heroine. really enjoyed hearing the back story of the twos relationship and how it progressed. Though, I didn't like how long it had been since they came in contact again. No New species haters in this one. I Can not wait to see who is next ~ My vote is for Jericho or vengeance! Though there was no mention of vengeance in this book that poor little soul! Jericho would be good I think, Laurann needs to do a primate book! :)(less)

He made the book enjoyable to read! It was interesting to hear about the cousins and the feud that the families have been going through. One thing I love about Kresley, is her ability to intertwine every book in the IAD series.
Hated Bettina. She was so stupid. Her and Cas should of just ended up together so poor Trehan could find someone else. I really hate the stories that revolve around "another". My heart broke for poor Trehan. Then to top it all off He apologized to Her??? What?? I was disappointed. (less)

This book revolves around Hot Zane. It takes you into his life before he was turned into a vampire, why he was turned into a vampire, and his need for revenge after he was turned into a vampire. Which Tina has done very well.
The story starts off with Zane stumbling upon a woman getting raped. Zane goes nuts and brutally murders the guy (which he has no regrets or remorse on how he killed him). Samson and Gabriel do not like the "way" the killing was done and they both agree that Zane is holding on to his sanity by a thread and demote him to lighter duties (less stressful). The Scanguards receive a job with in tales a bodyguard for a woman while her father takes leave out of town for business. Samson and Gabriel think this job is for Zane. Zane is not happy about this at all, until..
Portia is approaching her 21st birthday and she just found out that if she doesn't lose her virginity by then her body will forever be molded with her virginity in tacked. She questions her father about this and is upset he knew and assumes he is preventing it by hiring a bodyguard for her while he is away for business. She will do anything to lose it.
When Zane and Portia first meet it is WOW! undeniable attraction between the two! I loved the chemistry between them! We get the escape, Zane goes after her. We get the *seduction*. We get the "have. to. fight. the. attraction". We get the "why fight it?". We get the action. We get very HOT sex scenes. We get it all people!
Loved this book, one of my all time favorites! Great job Tina!(less)
