My first Sophie Jordan and, though I'm one with those people who truly appreciated this gem after so many years, it totally blown me away by the finesse she honed her characters from rough edges to a briliant diamond they become. Let's be honest that it's heavy laden drama from the moment Heath and Portia saw each other and it dragged up to the very last end.
Some will be annoyed by the drama and stubborness of both hero/heroine of the story especially as the problems and skeletons of each family were revealed but that's the beauty of this. I always thought that if you truly love each other, no mountain nor past will hinder the greatest gift that will ever be bestowed upon them. But as I deduced from the end, they can't help themselves of how they become because they were victims of the tragedy of their own families. What I like about them both were their strong determination to fight for their beliefs and seek for their own freedom even if they became selfish bastard because as I conclude later on, it were the only things that truly matter and distingiushed themselves from the root of their own misery. It was the only way to survive the madness and driven them to thrive, to live each day. I cannot blame them both for their thickheadedness and stubborness because it became the shield and comfort when no one else understand them. And these are the reasons why they became the perfect human fiction and perfect couple. No mister nice guy and no prim heroine waiting for her knight in shining armor to swept her daintly feet....more

It's a packaged of twists and turns that will get you on the edge of your sit. Good thing, I started reading this series on October (the month of this last book will be released) or else I will be half-torn on the second book. I am not a fan of YA novels but I must say, this series definitely caught me until the third book. A gigantic beast of a story that is full of surprising dramas about friendship, family, hope, forgiveness, love and undying thirst for truth.
And the truth is, you'll never leave this book alone for an hour without finishing it until the last page and after that..it's either you'll hate it or you'll love it. Choose wisely....more

Well, there are times when I got frustrated to the heroine, Beatrice Prior or "Tris" but honestly, she was a hell of a woman to begin with. Got some angst and stubbornness which made her sometimes got into some serious life-threatening situations. ...more

I've been swept off my feet. This novel is full of flavor and surprises! I was astonished by the plot especially the character of the heroine as a blabber-introvert type. It really has a chance for me to be an absolute breathtaking one-of-a-kind novel if there are some changes to be made on the story. There were these nagging events and some OOC (Out-Of-Character) that can be seen on the book.
I was totally deranged by the hero, Jack Harper, because at first he was this enigmatic handsome multimillionaire owner of the company then he became this talkative-fire-all-your-deepest-darkest-secret-from-your-dirty-closet and spill it all out on a mass media!!! For an intelligent guy like him, he was the dumbest! Why can't he stop his mouth from spilling all the spoiled milk? Maybe he was overwhelmed by the camera. hahaha. For that, it's a huge turn off for me.
But the heroine character saves my day! Well, the quirky, insane way she think! absolutely funny! But overall, I truly adore this book. A definite keeper (if you can tolerate some parts). ...more

Well, this book ends it all. Started with a 16 years old girl Katniss Everdeen grew from being a sister to Prim at Hunger Games to being a Tribute with Peeta as her star-crossed lover during the game, then as a symbol of inspiration for hope by districts in their midst of darkness and thus, President Snow watched her carefully. Then, she came back again on the arena with Peeta and other victors for Quarter Quell. And lastly, her as a symbol of hope became real as she accepted her fate being a Mockingjay. Now, she ended to a guy she can't live or survive without.
This book is brutal to its extent. All characters I come to love were, one by one dead in front of my eyes as I read the letters of their name. So many death, blood, cries and pain - the product of war. And I can't barely control the pages I flipped to finally know the end. The terror I saw in her eyes were portrayed very vividly like I was with her in every step she took to execute her final mission on this Game. And I was very relieve that I already ended this series for if their is another book, I don't know if I can hold anymore the emotions and nightmares Katniss felt and saw.
Maybe without Peeta in her life, she can't survive her ordeal and maybe she will be forever alone in the dark. Once again, love conquers all, even the darkness and nightmares. And maybe, we can conclude that...

after I read the first book, I jump literally on my bed for the second book. I know every book will be a major cliffhanger so I wait for all of them to finish, and I was not that disappointed. But, the momentum from the first book lack a lil bit in this book were Katniss Everdeen is having a complicated issue about her family's safety, her stage-boyfriend Peeta and about her cousin-wanna-be Gale. Now, everything centered on her come back at arena to face again her darkest deepest weakness - herself. I still see this book as a keeper for it portray deeply the emotions set by Suzanne Collins to each characters and I was moved by their principles in life. These are what war produces...bloodbath, cries, pain, and a hero.
Firstly, I already read the 1st book of this series about a year ago. And though I read it, I forgot already some of the scenes on the first book. Now I read this book, I'm again enamored by Julie Garwood writing. She done it again, the quality of the story and the twist kept me hours in full agony. Who is the real Pagan? It kept me awake at night because of my itchiness to finish this book and to finally meet the Pagan. But, with the length of the book, I waited for 3 days more to finally meet ***. I don't want to spoil anyone. It's up to you to find it out. It kept me rattled along the way, hope you feel the same curiousness crept within me while reading the novel. It's good. ...more
