I like Melisande since To Taste Temptation which is the first book of this series. And I was not disappointed but really happy that she became wife of Viscount Vale. They were so dissimilar that at first no one among the ton believe them to have a haste wedding without any valid reason. Well, if the ton only knows the whole story, they will be surprise for sure. For this heroine external demeanour was only a decoy to her real sensual self. Lady Vale was not innocent as the ton knew of her. She was an independent, sassy, loyal and fierce woman. I adore her and definitely one of my favourite heroine in historical romance. She knew what she want and she will take it with all her heart and soul. As for Lord Vale, Jasper Renshaw, he was a common lord of the ton, a devilishly handsome rake and scoundrel to the boot but nobody knows he was scarred beneath all his mischiefs. What makes this story good is because it was not only a romantic story but a mystery as well! It opened the eyes of the readers to the ugly evil post exposure of war to the survivors, and only strong women can only put up with them and at the same time heal their battered soul. A definite must keep!...more

I've been swept off my feet. This novel is full of flavor and surprises! I was astonished by the plot especially the character of the heroine as a blabber-introvert type. It really has a chance for me to be an absolute breathtaking one-of-a-kind novel if there are some changes to be made on the story. There were these nagging events and some OOC (Out-Of-Character) that can be seen on the book.
I was totally deranged by the hero, Jack Harper, because at first he was this enigmatic handsome multimillionaire owner of the company then he became this talkative-fire-all-your-deepest-darkest-secret-from-your-dirty-closet and spill it all out on a mass media!!! For an intelligent guy like him, he was the dumbest! Why can't he stop his mouth from spilling all the spoiled milk? Maybe he was overwhelmed by the camera. hahaha. For that, it's a huge turn off for me.
But the heroine character saves my day! Well, the quirky, insane way she think! absolutely funny! But overall, I truly adore this book. A definite keeper (if you can tolerate some parts). ...more

after I read the first book, I jump literally on my bed for the second book. I know every book will be a major cliffhanger so I wait for all of them to finish, and I was not that disappointed. But, the momentum from the first book lack a lil bit in this book were Katniss Everdeen is having a complicated issue about her family's safety, her stage-boyfriend Peeta and about her cousin-wanna-be Gale. Now, everything centered on her come back at arena to face again her darkest deepest weakness - herself. I still see this book as a keeper for it portray deeply the emotions set by Suzanne Collins to each characters and I was moved by their principles in life. These are what war produces...bloodbath, cries, pain, and a hero.
Firstly, I already read the 1st book of this series about a year ago. And though I read it, I forgot already some of the scenes on the first book. Now I read this book, I'm again enamored by Julie Garwood writing. She done it again, the quality of the story and the twist kept me hours in full agony. Who is the real Pagan? It kept me awake at night because of my itchiness to finish this book and to finally meet the Pagan. But, with the length of the book, I waited for 3 days more to finally meet ***. I don't want to spoil anyone. It's up to you to find it out. It kept me rattled along the way, hope you feel the same curiousness crept within me while reading the novel. It's good. ...more

No family. Doesn't have finesse and grace in her body. A low, good for nothing girl who drifts in an ocean of cruelty trying to find a place she can call her own. Her courage, temper, wisdom and strength give me something to ponder. Is she an amazon girl or just plain stupid? Because no way a girl can stand outside for hours herding cattle and beeves with chattering teeth and blister hands two times everyday. Maybe she's both, cause I can't see how she can survive that blizzard. But I guess, love can conquer all and she definitely showed that. I admired her inner beauty, simplicity, and her wisdom in life. She lived according to her proverbs and done everything right. She treasured every single things life had offer to her and I damned well love her for that. She became my inspiration and mentor. She's an egg, hard outside but soft inside. And she's definitely a Joan of Arc of the century. How I wish everybody can see the big picture out of small, simple things in their life, it will be a lovely and lively world for us.
I praised Maggie Osborne for her timeless beautiful heroine under the name Louise Downe McCord. She's a warrior and a dreamer....more

I was amazed and dazed. Never thought I had this powerful urge to curse and kill someone mentally who is "fictionally alive" at the same time laughed like a loco too. The story itself was a piece of art, a tale of life and promise - a promise that is NOT meant to be broken.
Ty Sanders second son of Cy Sanders. Rebel and independent man who answers for himself alone. He had a major role for the heroine's life. Forced by an errand, his life undergone roller coaster once he step in Mexico. An errand that will transform his life, forever.
Jenny Jones was a hell-a-lot of a man, living inside of a woman's body. She was rigid as a tree and aggressive as a buffalo. Lived and born in slums.
I've taken in wash, I've skinned buffalo carcasses, which is the worst job on this planet, I've signed on as a roustabout, and most recently, I've driven a mule team and hauled freight for the Comden outfit. Except for washing, none of those jobs is what you'd call women's work.
She earned her keeps and she's fricking good in her job too. She was not a lady nor a girl. She lived in a way she only knew, and she never cared to anyone who begrudgingly askancing her. Though, I admit she had her own sets of fault because of her upbringing. What truly caught my attention was her undying promise. An irrevocable and eternal promise only few who knew how to use it.
Honesty is all I've got.
And she took the promise by heart. I really love her character to the bone. A woman with dignity and honor. With this mind-set, she had another chance to live her life.
Major decisions, passion, hope and love...all mixed up in this juicy novel.
This is a beautiful story created by a master in the romance genre. Once again, Miss Maggie Osborne enamored our young hopeful hearts to believe that there is love somewhere between good and evil....more

I'm mesmerized and enthralled once again with her witty stories.
I can't put the book down! I love how she webbed in a 200+ pages the twists and turns, and played it gracefully in a mellow and enchanting pace. I thought, with the length of the book, I will be disappointed but I still give it a try...and oh what luck I have to rummage on some old treasure box. I adored her heroine, Charity Duncan for her guts and witty and for also being a giver. A heroine that will surely can catch any mans heart.
It being not quite the thing to advertise in the London papers for a wife, Anthony Earheart ,Marquess of Staunton, eldest son and heir of the Duke of Withingsby , advertised instead for a governess.
Set around during regency era, positions and wealth was still a firm standards of the ton. Charity Duncan cannot escape the prejudicial mindset and ill tried to find a suitable job for the sake of her in-debt family. Her luck began on her 7th attempt to be a governess to Anthony Earheart's children...And thus, her life change irrevocably from then on.
With only small belongings, her morals, dignity and her pride. She was set to aflame the heart of Anthony in his lair, the Enfield. With a mind set only for revenge and hatred, they'll be take aback with their strong attraction to each other because neither of them were ready for a roller coaster fast ride of their emotions.
The book was definitely 'for keeps.' Recommended for those who admired sweet, innocent Cinderella love story....more

Sounds yummy! And literally it was. Well, all sugar daddy's like their women seasoned. hahaha. I really cannot stop myself from devouring this sweet, light, hot and juicy treat that was waiting for me to finally not to ignore it. And I was soooo glad, I finally bought one!!! Yehey for me! Now I'm not an outcast. hahaha
This book gave me one hell-of-a-ride, and it was smokin' hot (sounds like a true blood Texans). All characters were well defined and furnished as it should be. No adjustments or alteration needed, just a wild imagination and you're in for a ride, honey. haha. I was clearly amazed by Lisa Kleypas for she didn't jump from historical to comtemporary, she also nailed it! She definitely owned the romance genre. And I, as one of her undying fans, salute her for her wicked, incomparable stories not just during Elizabeth or Victorian period but also during our present times.
I cannot add nor extract anymore from what my GR friends had already been said and will say in the future. So it's up to you, future readers to criticize (if their is worth criticizing for) and adore the heroes inside this 418 pages novel. If you are up to a fast, wild, funny, chick-lit novel, give this a shot, and trust me, you'll savor every words in it.

Once upon a time, notThis is not the kind of book you had in mind right now (if you are thinking about fairytales) because its even better than that.
Once upon a time, not so very long ago... A truly magnificent tale as old as time of love between the two opposite pole of humanity, The Beauty and the Beast, was written and told many, many times. The unlikely pair of two human being that been drawn by their tremendous love life can only offer.
Linnet Berry Thrynne aka "Beauty" was a demi-goddess in its literal sense, for she did not only possess a face so beautifully shaped that angels would weep with envy and a body of a temptress, she had also an intelligent mind that almost been lacking among the ton. As if Aphrodite had been crossed with Athena. One could say she was almost next to perfection...but she's not. As beauty enthralled mundane being, it's also prone to being hated by many. And Linnet didn't escape the tons wrath.
Piers Ylverton, Earl of Marchant, and heir to the Duke of Windebank aka "Beast" was a huge tall dark doctor, with an intelligent mind and spiteful tongue. Dark past engulfed his life. He became vicious, bitter and lost his faith in "love". He was not a charming man every girls would want to marry. But for Linnet, he had everything she wanted for a man.
They were engaged to be married but their own pride never let their heart fall for each other. "Half of each other's half", that's what they are. They didn't belong to the place they both lived, but they found their place in each others arm. Destined to be together, but bounded with their past...it will all be too late before they'll learned the greatest thing they always had.
A pure magical love woven by endless time. Inspired by La Bella Y La Bestia, and my favorite fairytale of all time. Be inspired, learned and travelled back into those childhood times, were naivety of love can put smile into our tender hearts. Kudos to Eloisa James for a magnificent retold of one of the most enchanting love story ever told. For the beauty, for the goodness of heart and for the faith to love....more

So I search this book from my library and there it was! stored quietly on the corner. I started to read it again about afternoon that day and surprisingly, as I turned my head towards the window. It was already dark outside! I cannot fathom to eat for I was not really that hungry and furthermore, I cannot put this book down! This novel still captivated me up until now. It refreshens the idea inside myself of how truly love works. This is how I defined love! Of how I want to love and to be loved. Some will say, it's a fools hope to be love like this for it's a fiction! I get it! But the fact that it's not only me who is thinking that love should be given unconditionally without asking in return. No ifs, dont's and buts! That's how powerful this novel is. I am truly bias but for me, this is the ultimate meaning of sacrifice, faith, hope and lastly, love....more
