On first reading Dan’s book I found the initial characters of Ben, the lead character of the book, along with his mischievous friends a little bland and lacking character to bond with them.. Until Ben, left behind by his friends and running away after robbing the local shop was transported to another world.
Ben and his new friends he met along the way, Dragonkin Daniar and her sister Erowin soon kept me reading, enticed along their own journey travelling to Balaaria to end the evil Emperor Gothon. Prince Kalak and the adorable Richie the tiger, befriended them and joined them on their quest to save their world.
Evil sister Zarraka along with Lucia attempted to stop the dragonkin and companions on many occasions, wishing only for Ben to be brought before the Emperor for his own selfish quest, however Lucia had a different plan overall to take power of the world.
I found Trapped on Draconia easily readable and the more I bonded with the new characters along their quest the harder it was to put the book down.
A little extra time could of been put towards the editing, however, this didn’t put me off the engrossed read to find out what happened to each character, including General Turok! On a few occasions my heart sank to read a character had been ended and found myself smiling they pulled through to continue, such as the isolated sister Rana, joining forces with her sister Daniar and friends to end all evil using magical and superhuman powers. Good read!
