Which pretty much made the book that much better for me! His first and only lines had already made me grind my teeth in annoyance. >___< If there has to be a "threesome" type deal, I say let it be between Arys, Alexa, & JEZ!!!! LOL! OR Willow could be the third wheel! ;p(less)

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating was due to the many editing mistakes, it was a little hard to understand sometimes due to grammar errors. Other than that though the story was really intriguing. Can't wait to pick up the next one :D(less)

Only reason it wasn't given a full 5 stars is due to the slight child like style of writing at times. At times it felt like when the writer envisioned a 16 year old she was really thinking of a 10 year olds point of view and actions. Jade really bugged me with how childish she came off, for the longest time I forgot she was supposed to be 16 and was thinking she was like 8 or 9. Other than that though, I loved the plots and the whole idea of the "Night World"!

The characters are all pretty well written and I felt close to each one in their own way.
At 15, Bryn is a typical stubborn, smart mouth, teenage human girl; living among a pack of werewolves. Being human in Bryns world should have taught her to keep quite, follow orders, and most importantly that she was always in danger. Instead Bryn challenges the day to day life in her pack by rejecting her pack bond and getting into as much trouble as she can! Of course being Marked by the packs Alpha has always kept her from being subjected to "Pack Justice", but not even the Alpha can save Bryn from the Pack when she disobeys a direct command from her Alpha.
In this story you learn all about Pack Life and the bond they all share in a world set in our modern time and how a simple human girl changes all their lives.
This book ends in a way that if there were no second book, the reader would still feel fulfilled. But knowing there is a second book i'm excited to see what kind of fun and danger Bryn and her Pack get into next!(less)

Now that I'm finished I can't wait to dive into Wolfsbane, the second book in the Nightshade series!
The main character Calla really jumped out at me, and even the side characters held my attention. The one character who is on my shit list, the character whom made me cringe every time I saw his name pop up; Shay.
(Side note: Shay is the SOLE purpose this book did NOT get a 5 star rating from me, HATED HIM.) Shay. I know he's supposed to be the happy go lucky, risk taker, change your world type, but really he just erked me. From the very first time he and Calla meet he has done nothing but put her in danger. Every thing he asks of her has her betraying her kind, her world. It's as if he took everything she warned about as a joke, not even seeming to actually care that the things he was asking of her would put her life in jeopardy. The whole time I read this book, I kept thinking, why Calla? Why??? Maybe I go for the more dominant males, in books, and in real life, but why risk even being punished in the slightest way when Ren is waiting for you?
Ren. The arrogant, get in your face, i'm in charge type. Ren, he really did strike me as how an Male Alpha Wolf would act! I loved him! Now i'm usually the type of women who doesn't stand for a man who thinks he is above her, but I really don't think that's how Ren wants to treat Calla. Yes he is dominant over her, and had to physically subdue her at one point, but really, I mean really people, do you really think Calla didn't deserve at least a little punishment for all her lies and deceit? It's actually pretty obvious that Ren really cares for Calla, she's just to blinded by the dumb human Shay to see it. Ugg Shay, (view spoiler)[ that's right he's no longer just a stupid human, Calla was dumb enough to put herself into a situation where she pretty much had no other choice but to turn Shay into a Guardian. Awesome. Cool. F**king bullshit. So what now? Am I supposed to be all super excited that Shay gets to share this part of Calla's life? Am I supposed to think it's cute when they go on a hunt together and take down that deer? HELL NO. Calla should have been hunting with Ren. Her real mate, her real future. UGGGG. I really hope Ren gets the chance in the future to rip Shays throat out. (hide spoiler)]
Calla. Oh Calla, Calla, Calla. What have you done? Honestly your world sounds perfect, can we trade lives? Oh to be Calla, and be the Female Alpha of a Wolf Pack! Going to school and hanging out with friends by day, running patrol on Sundays, being able to shift into a freaking Wolf any time you want! Let me just close my eyes and pretend I'm Calla, just for a little longer! But still, why oh why Calla did you save that weak human?? Before Shay, I could see Calla being a very fierce, independent, and passionate leader. But after Shay, oh man, it's like her head became all water logged, and she lost the ability to make smart decisions.
Ok, so I realized this probably couldn't be considered as a "review" but more of a "ranting". Sorry guys, I guess I just really needed to get a few things off my chest. Good book thought, loved it, will totally read it again! Actually can't wait to start it over, just to see if I missed anything in my rush to the end!
