Witty, confident without being seriously self-absorbed, gorgeous, adorably. Oh and one-legged due to a tumor that forced doctors to amputate the one that has been replaced by a plastic removable one. Naturally, between the trips to the ER and battles with the past, present, and uncertainty of there being a future, they fall in love, go to Holland, and help a blind guy throw eggs at a car.
I started this book because so many people were telling me how good it is and I wanted to see if it would live up to the expectations everyone setting. (It surpassed all expectations by far.)
I finished this book because I fell in love with the characters as soon as they were introduced and because this book doesn't exaggerate about the situation or talk about the characters' unfortunate circumstances prompting them to go change the world. It talks about things for what they are and the honesty that John Green expresses through Hazel is a refreshing change from what so many people expect her situation to be like.
I recommend this book to anyone who has ever known anyone with cancer or even just heard a story of someone with cancer. Basically,I recommend this book to everyone....more

I finished this book because it made me smile and because Eleanor reminded me of me.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever hurt anyone because this is a story of the difficulty that Park and Eleanor went through while trying to get past that hurt....more
