Jones was my absolute favorite series of books! This one in particular was one that I loved. This book's about a Junie, a little girl who is starting school. She goes into meet her teacher, yet throughout the entire book she can't remember her name so she just calls her miss. She learns that she will be riding the bus to and from school each day and hate the sound of this! Not only does the bus stink, but she hates the color yellow. So she gets a genius idea to hide at the end of the day so she doesn't have to take the bus home. Once she realizes everyone is gone she starts to explore. After a while she has to go to the bathroom really bad, but when she sees its locked she calls 911. This was because it was an emergency". Her mother, police and many others arrive at the school and they are not very happy with her to say the least. This book continues to tell her adventures and the little bit of trouble that Junie got into when she stayed hiding at school. A lot of lessons can be learned from this book and I personally think it is a great series for young readers. It also shows a lot of real life situations of what can really happen, and you can always tie in talking about what you should do in these certain situations with your students. (less)
