I received an ARC for my honest review.
Nineteen is easily the best book for 2015 for me! It’s some of the best writing I’ve ever read. The whole story felt so real and sucked me in immediately. I felt like I was a part of Jake and Emma’s lives. It was all playing off in front of me like a movie. Emma – what I loved most about her character was that she was down to earth. She didn’t let the blows life was taking at her drag her down, but instead, grew from it. Jake – what I loved most about his character was that although he felt tormented over Emma and what happened, he didn’t throw himself at her feet. Their love is epic, and it grew over a long period of time – No insta-love!!! Sure there was attraction, but no declarations of insta-love. I have soooo many favorite parts! I love that in the beginning they keep missing each other just. I love how descriptive everything was. I love the other characters and the part each of them played in Jake and Emma’s story. I love Emma’s dad and the relationship she has with him.
I hate the mother)
Now for the stats: NO HEA!!! ENDS ON A CLIFFHANGER!!! Romance – 5 Character Building – 5 Hotness level – 5 Bad boy level for Jake – 5 (off the charts) Tearjerker – 5 (do not attempt to read without a box of tissues) Suspense – 5 (OMG!!! ES Carter ripped my heart out and fed it to the sharks!)
Be warned – it ends on a HUGE cliffhanger so don’t come and say no one told you. I CANNOT wait for Twenty One.
Thank you ES for letting me share in your world <3 ...more
It was so refreshing to read Emma and Daniel's story. There's a lot of violence...the kind that makes your stomach heave. But, there is love, too. Bailey tries to escape a monster. She does everything she can to save herself...but he keeps finding her. When she stops in a small town things start to change for her. She makes friends, she becomes part of a family ... she finally learns what love is. But he always finds her and now it's not just her life that's at risk, but that of her new family too. You are going to cringe. You are going to curse... And you will definitely cry. Alex didn't glamorize violence like others do...but wrote the truth of what really happens out there and it was brutal....more

Once in a while a book comes along that simply steals your breath away. It shatters your heart across the pages and you know you’ll never get all the pieces back. And then, finally in the end, you’re left mesmerized by the beautiful journey you’ve been privileged to be a part of.
I’m so thankful … those were words spoken by Alder. I bled with him. I felt this man’s pain and in the end I felt his hope. I don’t want to give anything away about this book. You have to read it and live it.
Oh…make sure you have lots of tissues for this one! ...more
