The viscount of Dullitch is kidnapped and a handful of more or less qualified investigators go search for him.[return]Half-vampires, shapeshifters, imposters... we meet everything in Illmore.(less)

I really like Stone's writing style, it's very British and darkly hilarious. You start to like even the most despicable creature in the book while reading it. This is fantasy at its best and definitely not only for children.[return]Now I can't wait to start the second part.(less)

I mean which teenage girl can't relate to Bella?[return]I love good vampire books and this is one of the best ones in the YA genre. At times I still couldn't help but thinking that it was a bit over the top though. But then, it's been a while since I've been in high school...[return]I will read the sequel though because the first part, although a finished story, leaves you hanging somewhat.(less)

I expected cyberpunk from the start and was surprised to read two amusing and fast-paced chapters on pizza delivery times.[return]From there it just takes off and Stephenson takes us on a wild and cool ride through Reality and the Metaverse unlike any other I've ever encountered in a book.[return]The parts about the Sumerians and religion fit into the story perfectly. Surprisingly they don't interrupt or slow down the fast pacing of the book. These history and mythology elements are what make Snow Crash one of the most intelligent pieces of science fiction.[return]The brilliance for me lies in the details, like the ridiculously funny and disturbing part with the memo on toilet paper.[return]And I just love Fido. Period. I wish there was more of him.(less)
