I’ve seen her books everywhere but just never got around to reading any. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to read this one. It was a hoot!
So we have Everett, an in your face wolf shifter who thinks he’s top dog. At least until he finds himself sacked from his job. But this doesn’t stop him, no siree. He decides to start his own bounty hunting agency with his buddy, the sloth. I have to say, this is a very interesting combo for friends but it makes for interesting back and forth. Anyway, the same place he was fired from contacts him to help them bring in some mutant shifters that escaped their facility. Easy peasy right? Sure, until he encounters a giant, hulk version of a gecko. He finds himself hurt and being taken care of by a doe of all animals. Even though he knows she is the doe that is on the list of shifters, but he finds himself drawn to her and not in the predator/prey scenerio. Unless you count the sexual predator/prey scenario. ;)
Let’s not forget about our doe, Dawn. Usually does are pretty skittish but this one is different. Dawn is in hiding and has learned that she can’t be that skittish doe everyone expects her to be. Having to fend for herself has made her become a stronger willed person and I loved it. She took no one’s crap, even Everett’s. The two of them together were not only funny, but they seemed to be a natural, perfect fit that I never would have guessed.
There were also a couple previous characters that make their way into the book that I just loved! I wish there were such things as money trees so I could afford to go back and read this whole series. I love romances with some action and comedy thrown it. It makes it all the more enjoyable. :)...more

I am so glad Christine found my blog and asked if I would review her first book in her The Charmed series. I wouldn't have been able to read this awesome spinoff!
Alright, so Someone Else's Skye pretty much picks up right after the ending of The Charmed Fates which was, one hell of an ending. If you y'all haven't read this series yet, you don't know what you're missing. Of course you can read Someone Else's Skye and not be left off, but it does give you a bit more of an insight as to what happened to the characters in the past. That and it's an outstanding series and I highly recommend it.
So we have the entirely too sexy shifter, Kane, as our book boyfriend this go round. In the previous books in The Charmed series, he is a complete playboy and will sleep with pretty much anything of age with a pair of legs and boobs. One of his latest...let's call them ladies...had another issue with one of the other ladies he was having some sexy time with and a big catfight broke out. As a punishment for what I'm going to call the last straw, he is tasked to find out what is happening up north where a load of unknown supernatural stuff is going on. Not happy at all with this outcome, his tune definitely changes when he spots the hottest thing on two legs he has ever seen in his life. Too bad she was nothing to do with his...legs.
Skye has a mission she is required to complete. Unfortunately, she finds herself in the path of the supernatural being more than once and in the path of a shifter that utterly oozes sex by just breathing. It's kind of hard to get the job done when all you can think about is the possible hot sex that could be had but she was more determined to make her father proud. She just has to convince Kane that he can trust her.
I knew this book was going to be good but Christine knocked it out of the park with her twists and turns. The ending of the book had my jaw on the floor from the twist she threw in there. She's really good at that and I love it (almost) every time. (If you've read The Charmed series, the third book had some surprises that had me actually saying out loud, "no!") I cannot wait until the second in the series comes out. I've been waiting for Alec's HEA for four books!...more

You can definitely read this book as a standalone, but it probably would of helped if I read the first in the series to be used to all the different types of characters and this whole world. By the end of the book though, I was flipping pages like a madwoman trying to find out what happens. I ended up reading it in less than 24 hours with little sleep. :)
Gabe. Where can I get me one of him? Sexy and smart? That is a diabolical combination that left me wanting to hunt down this man and make him my own. Poor Gabe struggles every day with an eye problem that gets worse and worse everyday. I just wanted to hug him and tell him it would be ok every time I read about it. He can't even shift into his wolf form because he will become vulnerable because of his eyesight. Even though I was totally feeling for him, he doesn't use it as a crutch in his life. Hell, he didn't even tell Lorin. She had to find out from one of her friends.
Speaking of Lorin, Gabe and her are one hot couple. At first, all they can do is be at each other's throat until the both secretly admit to themselves that they have the undeniable urge to strip the other naked and ravage them. With a little nudge, they take a tumble in bed and find they can't get enough of each other. Honestly, I wanted to claw my way into the book and join them the sex was that great. ;)
Through all the digs and bed olympics going on, they are also having to deal with an unknown danger that comes to life when Lorin finds a strange box that they think might give them insight to their past and how they came to be. Intrigue, sensual energy, and danger makes for an addicting combination that has you making more coffee to stay up late and get up early to finish this book. Now the only thing I didn't like about the book is the fact that I want to read about Gabe's brother and Lorin's best friend. *sigh* I guess I will have to dig up some patience to wait it out. ...more

I have been impatiently waiting for Phineas' book since his character was introduced in the series. I was super excited when I found out that she was coming to Virginia with Pamela Palmer for a panel and book signing. When I found out I got on the phone and called my mom and told her if she had something planned she had to cancel because we were doing this. Kerrelyn was the author who got me hooked into romance novels. Before I was just reading YA (which there is nothing wrong with) but my eyes were inevitably opened to the awesome world of romance novels. So my mother and I drove an hour to see her. I wanted to get a good seat (mainly because I am short and can't see over people's heads. LOL.) and snagged a couple in the first few rows back. Well my mom went gallivanting off looking for whatever and I was sitting there looking around and being a total fan girl and staring at my favorite authors, I noticed Wanted: Undead or Alive sitting on a shelf behind the authors. I was really confused because it was the 24th and the book came out on the 27th. Why would it be on the shelf already? Well I about crapped myself when they said Avon was letting Kerrelyn sell them to us lucky attendees. SQUEE!!!!!! My mother laughed because I turned in slow motion towards her with wide eyes which automatically earned me a calm the f*ck down comment from her. LOL. Needless to say I ignored my mother and started reading the book during our lunch but at least she understands my obsession. ;)
Now that I have completely showed how much of a dork I am, to the review! Whoosh. Alright, so I was super curious how Kerrelyn was going to write Phin's story. He is different then the other characters she has written. He's a goofball in all the stories, calling himself "The Love Doctor." Well he is determined to shake off the reputation he has with the paranormal world. He is tired of being basically a checklist on ladies' to do lists. He sees all his friends happy with their wives and wants the same thing. The poor thing tried his hardest to make a mortal woman he absolutely adored fall for him to no avail. Of course the woman was an idiot and couldn't see what was in front of her because she doesn't like vampires. There is someone else Phin tries with all his might to at like he doesn't find alluring...Brynley.
Brynley is a werewolf princess hiding out from her father's pack and his you do only as I say attitude. She finds herself living in a vampire school so she can be close to her twin, Phil, who was kicked out of her father's pack years ago. There's just a little issue with that. She hates vampires, or at least she thinks she does. Every time she sees Phineas her heart starts to race, she becomes flushed, and can think of nothing other than getting him into bed. But of course she tells herself she can't have those feelings towards a vampire. Well she soon finds herself in Phil's cabin alone with Phin to help flush out the evil Corky Currant who is thought to be hiding in Wyoming. Brynley soon realizes there is more to Phin then meets the eye.
I was really happy Kerrelyn decided to pair these two together. They are just what each other needed. Between their attraction and the other exciting events, this book was so addicting! Now I just have to wait for my next anticipated character...Howard!!!! XD ...more

She is determined to find her mate in this group of carefully selected males. But when her brother's SEAL teammate, Finn, shows up unexpectedly, she is beyond annoyed with his games. Why he feels the need to pretend to be her lover is beyond her but she knows she has to watch her step or he will go running to her brother who will put her search to an end immediately. If only that was the least of her worries...
Finn, a Navy SEAL, is used to living in dangerous situations but when someone is set out to start offing his team members, he is determined to stop the wolf in his tracks. After one of his team members has already been attacked, Finn just knows Hunter will be the next target. When Finn finally tracks him down, he quickly discovers from Meara that Hunter is on a very human honeymoon with his new mate. Well crap. Finn also discovers that Meara has set up a week of hosting alpha males at the cabins in hopes of finding her new mate but he knows that someone could target Meara to get to Hunter. Double Crap. Of course he keeps telling himself that the feeling he is feeling towards Meara is just his instinct to protect what is Hunters's and not the urge to wrap her in his arms and never let go until he knows she is safe, or so she doesn't find her mate. Whichever.
I have only read one previous book by Ms. Spear but I will definitely say if I had the money, I would go back and read ALL of her books. She definitely knows how to write a book! Full of sexual energy and thrilling twists and turns that will leave you wanting more and more. All I can say is the next in the series can't come out fast enough for me! :)...more

Walters' posts and saw that Quinn's Quest was released the day before and I didn't pre-order it! *gasp* I went right on and purchased it to my faithful Kindle (my second one in under 18 months because I burnt the other one out from reading so much. Lol.) and got to reading that day. I just finished it this morning and generally I don't write reviews right after I read books but I felt I just had to get down everything I was feeling with this book.
We were introduced to Quinn in the previous book, Legacy Found. Not exactly knowing if he was on the up and up, we found that he was a good person with a determination to do anything to find his twin sister Chrissten. In Quinn's Quest, we get a more in depth look at sexy beast (pun intended) he really is. Fully blaming himself for Chrissten's kidnapping, he feels it is up to him to get her back. After looking so long and not finding anything, he turns to the Haven pack that has graciously offered to help. It is all going well when Damek (the creepy ass vampire) agrees to help in the search, until he gets a early morning phone call from someone claiming to see his sister alive. He can't help but feel some of the hope that was extinguished come racing to the forefront. And that's not all that's at the forefront. One look at the woman who called and the only thing he can think of is to mark her as his own.
Bethany narrowly escaped her kidnappers. Determined to help rescue the woman, Chrissten, who was kidnapped before she was picked up, she calls Chrissten's twin brother, Quinn for help. At the sound of his voice on the phone, she can't help but feel a strange pull towards him. Shaking the feeling off, she tells him she wants to meet him to talk about his sister. Agreeing upon Haven, her taxi pulls up and she is floored with the presence that is Quinn. She has never been extremely attracted to men but the one in front of her has her thinking she was completely wrong. Bethany fights her attraction to Quinn and tells them everything she knows. Not feeling comfortable with all the huge, brooding men around her, she instinctively stays close to Quinn. Little does she know how close they will become.
My only pet peeve was that the story is basically continued onto the next book, Finding Chrissten, with Chrissten and Hank as the couple coming together. I know that isn't a bad thing necessarily but I am impatient! Lol! I want more sexy werewolves. :( I guess I will just have to put my big girl pants on a deal with it....more

I mean come on, it's an Ellora's Cave book. Lol. (No offense to the authors hiding gems with this publisher.) Let's just say pleasantly surprised does not describe how I felt towards this book. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I was literally sucked into the book it was so good. It kept me up reading way too late into the night.
Ronan is an immortal warrior and a Scottish Sgian Dubh Guardian who is forced to protect the clairvoyant medium Syrena from and evil, creepy incubus that wants to steal her life force to become whole and unstoppable. Upon meeting her, he wants nothing more than to bed her, many, many times but if he gives into the impulse, he will be punished.
Sex. That's all Syrena can think about when she is around Ronan. When she finally figures out why he is really there, she decides to give in to temptation and desires. Little do they know is when they finally come together, their setting fire to the sheets escapades are giving off an incredible amount of energy which is making the incubus impossible to defeat.
Seriously, if you are not sure if you would like this book, believe me, you absolutely will. So take a chance and pick up this book. You won't be disappointed! :)...more

I have read all types of books but this one had me absolutely glued to the pages with my eyes wide open. I have read scenes in books where there is some m/m play but this was all male all the time and it was freaking great!
Jed was the strong alpha male that I love in stories that took charge without flinching. I really like alpha male characters. Now the beginning I was thinking whoa, this is pretty blunt and graphic but I think it only added to the greatness of the story and helped us understand Jed's character all the more.
What can I say about Redford, or Red as Jed calls him? When Jed found him, he was timid and unsure of himself. The longer he is with Jed, the more he comes out of himself and becomes the confident, strong character at the end of the book. I felt so sorry for him because he was locked away for the majority of his life. I know his grandmother only had the best of intentions when she decided to seclude him from society, but it still is not a way I would like to have grown up.
I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I do wish it was just a little longer but the content in this novel more than made up for the shorter length. So take a chance on this great story. You won't be disappointed....more

It was a pleasant surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Andrea Lockhart finds herself in Woodbine, South Carolina in search of a werewolf that has gotten a lot of attention the past two years. Not the usual story she is assigned, she throws herself into finding facts that prove this creature is either true or a hoax. From the second she stepped foot in Woodbine, she finds she is experiencing a streak of bad luck. While hanging upside down from a tree in the woods by a trap from a local, a kid that works at the local paper finds her and calls for help.
To Andrea's horror, she finds Sean Hunter, the jerk who beat her in the running for editor of their college newspaper and the man who told her she would never make it as a reporter. Once over the shock of realizing who he is, her next thought is why he is in Woodbine instead of somewhere bigger.
Finally realizing who Andrea is, Sean can't get over how good she looks and how different she was from their college days. Sexier and more confident, he finds he can't resist her. Problem is, she is fighting him even though he knows she is feeling the same way.
In the middle of a budding romance, they find clues and even the werewolf itself. The story takes a shocking turn when they find themselves waiting to tag the werewolf when everything goes horribly wrong. Shocking twists and steaming romance had me stuck to the pages of this book. Angela Campbell knows how to write a griping story. Can't wait to read more from her....more

It was full of surprises that even though I figured them out, I wasn't expecting Shelley's reaction. I felt so much for her in this book. I can't even fathom what she went through all those years and how she came out of it intact. Even though she came out a little damaged and frail, she is stronger then she realizes. James helps bring out her strength without her even knowing.
So I wasn't sure how I was going to like having James as the sexy main squeeze. I couldn't get the image of an older less attractive father out of my head. I had to keep telling myself that in this series they age slower than humans. Eventually I thought of James in a sexy hero sort of way and loved that I got to see deeper into him then in previous books. I love that he was given the chance to find another mate. After the heartache he went through with his first mate, he deserved a second chance at love. His character did not disappoint and kept me glued to my Kindle screen.
I enjoyed finding out more about a new character Quinn. It is finally revealed towards the end of the book what his real motives of joining the bounty hunters were. It gives you a sneak peek into what we should look forward to with the next book, which in my opinion will not come fast enough....more

I loved this book. I think I have found another author to add to my group that I faithfully stalk. :p I was curious how Isaiah was going to be in this book. He seemed like he was distant in Alexandra's Legacy. I love the shy or wounded men in romance novels. I find them most intriguing and Isaiah is no exception.
He carries the guilt of his sister's disappearance years ago and has decided he shouldn't be trusted to take over the security of the pack. As a result, he stays distant from the pack and his family but if there is anything his family needs, he doesn't hesitate or ask questions. I love his loyalty towards his family. I think that makes for the basics of the beginnings of a great man.
I loved the tension between Isaiah and Meredith. It takes a strong woman to handle all her children and maintain the status of alpha. Of course I wish she could have trusted Isaiah enough to tell him about her adopted children or have the courage to at least get to know him a little better. She probably would have avoided all the trouble they went through.
I am hopeful though that Walters will write a couple stories using Meredith's unmated children. Her sons give the impression that they will make great characters that I can drool over.

At least not outside the entertainment world. *Sigh* Ok now back to what you are here for.
N.J. Walters did a wonderful job telling Alexandra and Joshua's story. Alex, from the start, is a strong woman who handles her dramatic changes in her life with grace. She shows a kind heart to people who normally would be looked down upon and courage when a sexy man she is drawn to changes her life forever.
I really loved the back and forth sexual tension between the two characters. I love that Joshua has such strong morals that he doesn't want to take away Alex's decision of her new mate. I love how fierce he is when it comes to his family and protecting what is his or what he is in charge of.
I also liked how Walters wrote from the first person view of the bounty hunters and Alex's father, James. It added a new prospective to break up some of the story and to show a little more depth to the story and slowly sets up the story for the next book. I think authors walk a fine line writing in this style. Sometimes they can go overboard and end up veering away from the actual story line but Walters executed this perfectly. I am looking forward to reading more of her books. :)...more
