From the first page it pulls you in and keeps you there. The chemistry between Xander and Kizzie is near combustible.
I love that Kizzie doesn't know what kind of party she is walking into. Of course, as much as they know about Xander, shouldn't they know he throws parties like that all the time? That didn't deter me from the story though.
The part that got me hooked for more and completely infuriated me at the same time was the ending or should I say lack there of. The book ends on a cliffhanger and man does it leave you wanting more. The continuation of this book can not come out soon enough....more

After being away for twelve years after a horrible incident happened to Anna, Dante is back after his foster mother asked him to come celebrate her and her husband's wedding anniversary. Before he had time to go to his hotel, he got a call from his foster mother, saying her husband has been missing for hours which was very unlike him. Dante, being in the Special Forces, was able to look up his foster father's phone GPS. What they found was his dead body beaten with a heart carved into his skin where his heart is, just like Anna. Now, Dante must stay longer than planned to find who killed the person who was like a father to him.
I loved Dante's character and who wouldn't? He's strong, mysterious, and sexy. Yes he came back for his foster mother but he also came back to see his ex-girlfriend Anna. It's been twelve years since he has seen her and he wanted to know how she has become after all this time. Fully expecting her to be married with a couple of kids by now, he wasn't prepared to look up from his foster father's dead body to see she is the detective working his case. Grown up sexiness and a tough as nails attitude, Dante falls for her all over again.
Anna is shocked to find Dante standing in her crime scene. She didn't know he was back and for how long. She wasn't prepared for the rush she feels when seeing him again after he he left without telling her after the horrible night twelve years ago that left her with a heart shaped scar. Now she has to figure out if he is the killer or this just happened because he was home after all this time.
There isn't too much more I want to say about the book because I don't want to give anything away. It was such a great book with a couple twists I didn't see coming. The biggest one had me reading with my mouth hanging open. I couldn't read this quick enough. It was such a great read. I can't wait to see if Jaci comes out with another in this series!...more

At first he finds her a little in your face but then when she leaves, he feels the void she left. He finds himself growing more and more intrigued by her sauciness and respects her relationship and trust in her son. And the more he gets to know her and her son Dillon, the less alone he feels. Growing attached, he can't fight wanting to help Paige out when trouble comes around, even if that means having to contact the friends he has pushed away.
Paige is a single mother with her own successful business and a teenage son about to go to college. After deciding to start over and move, she noticed a change in Dillon. He's been grumpy, has an attitude, and has been hanging with the wrong crowd. Paige knows deep down Dillon's a good kid, but can't help but think he may know why she is being left surprises and having other things happen. Not knowing what else to do, Paige enlists the help of her sexy, younger neighbor, Tommy. She can look past the grumpiness to see that he is a good guy deep down. Now only if she can look past his smoldering look...
What can I say? Norah has done it again. I think this may be my favorite in the Serve and Protect series. I was happy when I found out this book has Tommy in it. We saw a little preview of him in Saving Grace so I was happy he got his own book.
I loved Tommy and Paige together. Tommy was such a pitiful grump at the beginning of the book, you couldn't help but want to jump right in the pages and help him. Paige literally invited herself in and took care of him without even asking him if it was ok. I like that about her. She is a take charge woman that knows what should be done. They balance each other out perfectly. I also really enjoyed that Norah included a couple other first person views of a couple other characters. It made the story that much more interesting. Not to mention the minor little love story thrown in there.
So would I recommend this book you ask? Why hell yes!! I recommend the whole series as a matter of fact. I have read a lot of books and you won't find too many books that are written well but Norah always knocks it out of the park! :)...more

I kept hearing all these great things and how they have the hottest vampires. I took my time in getting around to them because I know that if I really like a series, I will want to buy them all and that's a good chunk of change to shell out. So after I found my Amazon gift card that I lost from Christmas, I also got a couple for my birthday and purchased the whole set.
Which brings us to Dark Lover. We start the book out with Thorment and Darius in a club waiting to meet with the Wrath, the King of their race. (Even though Wrath doesn't acknowledge he is king.) In comes a behemoth of a man coming through the crowd like he owns the place. Wrath gives off the back off vibe that makes everyone take a cautionary step back. After Thor excuses himself, Darius gets down to the reason he wanted the meet. He wants Wrath to protect his daughter. And the catch? She knows nothing about their world, her father, and the fact that she may be going through the transition into a vampire very soon.
Wrath is not quite sure why Darius feels he needs to be the one to protect his daughter but says yes anyway. After he finds out D was killed by lessers, he knows the only thing he can do to honor his fallen brother is do keep to his word and protect his daughter. Easy peasy right? It was until he got a good look at Beth. Becoming obsessive about her, he stands guard outside her sliding door each night and once she is fast asleep, slips in and watches her. Even through his partial blindness, he can still tell she is the most gorgeous specimen he has ever laid eyes on. Right then and there he knows he would do anything to keep her safe. Even if it kills him.
Beth is not quite sure whether she is going crazy or not but the monster of a man in front of her is definitely in that category. However, she can't help but feel like he might be right. She has every symptom he claims is her change coming on. Or that could be just the way she is feeling towards Wrath. Beth has never been too attracted to anyone so she is rocked to her core that all she can think about is him. She has a lot to learn about this new life of hers.
Wrath is the dream alpha male all us ladies wish we had. Beth is the woman we all wish we could be. Throw in some other fine hunky brothers and you have a recipe for a great series....more

As Phury put it, "Zsadist is ruined, not broken." Having been a former blood slave, he is still struggling to come to grips with what we would call PTSD these days. The blood slave tattoo around his neck doesn't help with him trying to forget. It is a daily reminder of what he once was. Everything changed for him the day the brothers got notice that the aristocrat Bella was kidnapped by lessers. Consumed with the need to save her, he doesn't sleep, eat, and avoids the other brothers more than he already does. Finally able to rescue her, the brothers are shocked to see Z acting like a bonded male towards Bella and are not quite sure what to do other than let him watch over and assist with her healing and hope he doesn't hurt her.
Bella can't believe she is out of that hell hole she was in. Literally. She is even more astonished to find that Zsadist is the one helping her get better. And is that a bonding scent coming off him? Yes, that makes everything better and helps her be able to work through a lot of the hard stuff. Z is another story altogether though. He seems like he is struggling with revenge and it's eating him up inside. Bella goes on her own mission to help Zsadist come to grips with his past and the present with her kidnapping. She needs him here with her. She knows he is the one she wants to spend her days with and that makes all the difference.
Zsadist was constantly breaking my heart in this story. He is such a tortured soul that you just want to hold and take all his cares away. When we learn more about Z's past, I can't help but feel my heart ache for what he was put through before Phury rescued him. Let's not even get into what Z puts Phury through. That is for another book. At least Bella comes into his life and offers him the solace and sunshine he needs to make him whole again. Ward couldn't have thought up a better heroine to pair with this wounded soul. ...more

We met Brian "Butch" O'Neil in the first book through Beth who found himself surrounded by vampires and not able to get out. You know what though? He fits in. Butch especially connects with Vischous perfectly.
The brotherhood offered him any and everything he would ever want but even though he felt that this was his home now, there was still something missing. It all clicked when he spotted Marissa. The earth literally moved and he knew that she was meant to be his. He had never seen a most beautiful person in all his life. And she seems just as enamored with him, even though he's not sure why. Which brings us to the present. If she was equally entranced, why has he not seen or heard from her in months? She was avoiding him and he couldn't figure out why. So Butch decides to take out his frustrations on battling some lessers but what do you know? Luck was just not on his side and found himself being sacrificed in place of a civilian vampire to spare his life. Thankfully Butch is found by a frantic V but no one knows what exactly is wrong with him and if he can be saved.
In comes Marissa. Feeling that something is not quite right seeing the brothers at Havers', she investigates and can't believe what she is seeing. Butch. Strapped to a bed and looking like death reincarnate. Not thinking, she rushes into the quarantined room. When she see with her own eyes he is alive, she is beyond relieved and knows she can no longer fight her feelings towards this fascinating human. That decision becomes the now when Havers walks in and sees her in the quarantine room without the proper precautions on. Not sure if Butch is contagious, Marissa finds herself locked in the room with him until they can figure it out.
Weird things are going on with Butch since his dance with the Omega. He can't help but think that he is cursed but he gradually gets better with the help of Vischous and especially Marissa. As their connection gets deeper, Butch is hell bent on trying to figure out a way to be able to stay with Marissa forever. Whatever the risk.
I was really excited to read Butch and Marissa's story. I couldn't help but get emotionally involved in Butch's struggles to come to terms with his new fate and his growing love for Marissa. He still holds a soft spot in my heart. :) ...more

The characters we extremely believable. Take Sarah for example, she has a father who worked all the time and even though she knew he loved her, it wasn't enough and between that and her family, it left her feeling insecure. I also loved that she was willing to step up and try to protect Chance when the time came about. She is the perfect combo that makes me love her character.
Let's not forget about the mysterious Chance. Throughout the book you have your suspicions about his past but then you look at his attributes and think, no, he couldn't have done that. Calculating, sexy, mysterious, and protective, Chance throws off 'bang me now' like you wouldn't believe. Well, I guess that was the vibe I was getting from him. Everything about him made me want to make him mine. Even after we find out he deepest secret, I felt he was still a great male. My question is, why do men always try to fight what they are feeling? Like how freaked he was when he found Sarah in a compromising situation. You could tell that he cared deeply about her and made sure to take good care of her but would turn around and basically tell her he was not the settling down type. JOHN MATTHEW!!!!!!! I was anticipating this book from the first book we meet John in. We meet him as a scrawny, awkward, pre-trans and get to watch hiJOHN MATTHEW!!!!!!! I was anticipating this book from the first book we meet John in. We meet him as a scrawny, awkward, pre-trans and get to watch him grow into his new body and emotions. He is one of my favorite books in this series. Not only do we get to go more into his story, we also get more of Qhuinn and Blay. I hope they get their own book soon. I want them together so bad!
At the beginning of the story, JM is in a frenzy to try to find Xhex who is kidnapped by Lash from the previous book. The scene where they finally track down where Lash is staying, they search all the rooms and come to the one that was holding her. Little did they know Xhex was in the room while they were there but they couldn't see her. When John broke down it about broke my heart! I just wanted to jump in those pages and give him a massive hug and tell him she is in the room. If wasn't already in love with John Matthew at this point I was then. Gotta love when a man is so deeply in love with someone he openly breaks down in front of his brothers.
We see much more into Xhex's backstory and what is happening in the present. I had sort of a love/hate relationship with Xhex. I loved how strong she is and how she takes no crap from anyone and goes for what she wants. I wasn't a big fan of how she kept pushing John away. If it was clear as day that the man had it bad for me, I would be all over him like white on rice! Seriously, out of all the men in the BDB, I would go for JM. He pulls everyone of my heart strings and he is so damn sexy it makes me ache! How could Xhex not want him all to herself! Let's just say there were times that I wanted to go into the book and risk my life to slap some sense into the woman. It's horrible to say, but I am glad that the kidnapping woke her up to what she had right in front of her face. Yes she was a little standoffish at first but she eventually threw everything she had in the pot and that made all the difference to me.
I was really excited to see Tohr more in this book. Seeing more of him makes me feel so bad for him and making me want to comfort him through his mourning. Right before the mating ceremony of John and Xhex, I loved that No'One turned out to be Xhex's mother. I actually didn't see that one coming. Tohr's reaction was a little funny too because clearly he wasn't expecting ever to see this woman again. We also find out that Xhex's previous lover is still out there. Hopefully we will be seeing more of him soon. :) ...more

We are introduced to her in previous books where she is awakened from a deep sleep her mother, the Scribe Virgin, had her in for a good couple hundred years. Let's say the word pissed is a good description of how Payne is feeling towards mother dearest. To pass the time, Payne and Wrath get into full on fights with the two of them not holding back. They get some bruises and cuts but nothing much. Their latest fights leads Payne to hit her back and damage her spinal cord which makes her paralyzed. In a panic, Wrath takes her down to Doc Jane, with the consent of the Scribe Virgin, but Jane is not able to do much for her so she sets out to get her old boss, Manny Manello. When she goes to the hospital and finds out he's not there, she goes to his condo but he isn't there either. Paging him multiple times, he finally decides to hit her back which enables her to figure out where he is. She flashes to the cemetery where he is standing over her grave. Pushing past her instant guilt for lying to Manny, she makes herself corporeal. Which made things get real interesting.
After sucking up his shock that he might not be going crazy and seeing Jane, he decides that he wants to help the person Jane is treating in the super secret place she is now. The second Manny sets eyes on the woman he is supposed to perform surgery on, the only thing he can think of is that she is meant to be his. He feels an instant connection he has never felt with anyone else. Snapping out of it, with the help of Jane's burly husband, he gets to work on Payne. Out of surgery, they find she is still paralyzed. After a series of things that happen along the way, Manny finds himself back at that massive mansion he was at before trying to help the woman he has have very vivid dreams about. Payne and Manny quickly discover that with some help with sexual release, it makes her happy which makes her glow and heal her legs to enable her to walk.
Payne is walking on water when it comes to Manny but she can't help but feel like her time with him is short lived. He's a human and their relationship can't possibly work out. After a nasty reality check courtesy of Manny himself, Payne goes out into the night by herself where she stumbles across some lessers which is no issue for her. The problem she comes across is finding herself kidnapped by a group of vampires out to get her.
Yes this book was about Payne and Manny but I am pretty sure Vishous and Jane had more "air time" then the main love interests. Of course this was completely fine to me since I absolutely love V. ;) I am really happy that we get to see him delve deeper in his feelings and finds away to open up to the people that are the most important in his life. And might I say that the scene with Butch and V at his condo about broke my heart! I love you V!!! ...more

I have been impatiently waiting for Phineas' book since his character was introduced in the series. I was super excited when I found out that she was coming to Virginia with Pamela Palmer for a panel and book signing. When I found out I got on the phone and called my mom and told her if she had something planned she had to cancel because we were doing this. Kerrelyn was the author who got me hooked into romance novels. Before I was just reading YA (which there is nothing wrong with) but my eyes were inevitably opened to the awesome world of romance novels. So my mother and I drove an hour to see her. I wanted to get a good seat (mainly because I am short and can't see over people's heads. LOL.) and snagged a couple in the first few rows back. Well my mom went gallivanting off looking for whatever and I was sitting there looking around and being a total fan girl and staring at my favorite authors, I noticed Wanted: Undead or Alive sitting on a shelf behind the authors. I was really confused because it was the 24th and the book came out on the 27th. Why would it be on the shelf already? Well I about crapped myself when they said Avon was letting Kerrelyn sell them to us lucky attendees. SQUEE!!!!!! My mother laughed because I turned in slow motion towards her with wide eyes which automatically earned me a calm the f*ck down comment from her. LOL. Needless to say I ignored my mother and started reading the book during our lunch but at least she understands my obsession. ;)
Now that I have completely showed how much of a dork I am, to the review! Whoosh. Alright, so I was super curious how Kerrelyn was going to write Phin's story. He is different then the other characters she has written. He's a goofball in all the stories, calling himself "The Love Doctor." Well he is determined to shake off the reputation he has with the paranormal world. He is tired of being basically a checklist on ladies' to do lists. He sees all his friends happy with their wives and wants the same thing. The poor thing tried his hardest to make a mortal woman he absolutely adored fall for him to no avail. Of course the woman was an idiot and couldn't see what was in front of her because she doesn't like vampires. There is someone else Phin tries with all his might to at like he doesn't find alluring...Brynley.
Brynley is a werewolf princess hiding out from her father's pack and his you do only as I say attitude. She finds herself living in a vampire school so she can be close to her twin, Phil, who was kicked out of her father's pack years ago. There's just a little issue with that. She hates vampires, or at least she thinks she does. Every time she sees Phineas her heart starts to race, she becomes flushed, and can think of nothing other than getting him into bed. But of course she tells herself she can't have those feelings towards a vampire. Well she soon finds herself in Phil's cabin alone with Phin to help flush out the evil Corky Currant who is thought to be hiding in Wyoming. Brynley soon realizes there is more to Phin then meets the eye.
I was really happy Kerrelyn decided to pair these two together. They are just what each other needed. Between their attraction and the other exciting events, this book was so addicting! Now I just have to wait for my next anticipated character...Howard!!!! XD ...more

Your story makes me so sad. I swear Ward just loves to torture her characters to the point that you have to truly wonder how they will ever make it back to at least half of who they were. Tohr is one example. Bonded males live their lives for their shellans, so when Tohr was approached by the whole Brotherhood to be told that his world was violently taken away from him, he goes berserk. There is a crack in a concrete wall to prove how badly a man can hurt when his wife and unborn child are taken away. Tohr goes on a rampage in his office and then disappears for years with no contact with the Brotherhood and John Matthew, the closest thing he has had to a son. In a few of the past books, we get some glimpses of a man who is basically staving himself and wishing for death every single second of every single day so he can be reunited with his heart.
The Brotherhood gets word that a fallen angel, Lassiter, has found something they have lost. Tohrment is the shell of his former self. After suffering for over a year over his lost Wellsie, Lassiter starts pushing Tohr to start helping himself. Wellsie isn't coming back and she would want him to move on. After many attempts at this strategy, Lassiter is getting concerned that there is little time left to get Wellsie and her unborn son out of the inbetween. Which brings us to John Matthew and Xhex's mating ceremony. Tohr goes and retrieves Wellsie's mating dress and gives it to Xhex to wear for hers knowing it is what his precious shellan would have wanted. While presenting Xhex with his gift, they are both surprised when they receive a visit from a blast from the past, and not a good one.
No'One, Xhex's mother and woman who Tohr watched die and buried himself, makes a surprising appearance in this world. Apparently after taking her life, she found herself in the Scribe Virgin's domain and knew instantly that she was given another chance at a form of living. Taking it upon herself, she dons a hooded robe and goes by the name No'One, not wanting to be the person she was before. After years of living this way, Payne makes her think that there could be more to her life so she decides it is the time to go to the other side and introduce herself to her daughter. No'One is approached by the fallen angel to ask for her help in making the tortured Tohr better. Wanting to do anything to make up for what she did to him in the past, she agrees to do anything necessary.
Tohr is still beyond stunned to know that the woman underneath the hood is the woman who took her own life with his dagger. He stays his distance from her for a bit but soon comes to start to get angry at the fact that his Wellsie is gone and not coming back but this woman who did an unforgivable act was given a second chance at life. How is that fair? Plagued by his overwhelming sorrow, he is not made to feel any better when he keeps having recurring dreams of his beloved and his child in a dark, dank place with no way to get out. The longer he has these dreams, the farther away and fuzzier they become but he can't figure out why. He soon learns that they're stuck in horrible place that could condemn their souls to eternity of nothingness. Tohr is willing to do anything except the one thing Lassiter tells him he has to do...move on.
Lover Reborn tore my heart into tiny pieces that I wanted to give to Tohr to help piece together the parts of his heart that were missing. Out of all the BDB books, this one has the goods to make you tear up or flat out cry (like I did). It takes a lot for me to cry so that can tell you how emotionally invested I became in this book. I am just overly ecstatic that Tohr and No'One both got their happily ever after they both deserve. :)...more

Let’s start with this…Grab a blanket, pillow and a box of tissues and crawl into bed. Make sure you lock your door so no one can bother you and just get comfy with the idea of getting no sleep. Sleep is overrated when you read this book. You won’t want to stop unless either forced or for pee breaks. Who am I kidding? I even read it on bathroom breaks.
Rocco is fresh out of the war and is beyond messed up. He was just released from the hospital from injuries and is suffering for a bad case of PTSD. He goes home to see that there is nothing left for him there. He gets a call from one of his brothers in arms asking him to go to his sister’s ranch and help her out. She has been having way too many issues trying to get it up and running. Rocco decides to at least stop by and check things out. What he wasn’t prepared for was Mandy and how she will change his life for the better.
Mandy’s dream is to open her therapeutic riding center. It seems as though the world is working against her with this project from all the bumps in the road she is experiencing. She calls her brother, Kit, and tells him about her latest worker quitting. Not even three hours after that call, she finds a dangerously sexy soldier with haunted eyes standing in front of her. Mandy knows instantly that there is more to him than meets the eye. After experiencing an episode of Rocco’s PTSD, she wants nothing more than to fix this broken shell of a man. Her heart depends on it.
I have found my new favorite author. No joke. I have literally been glued to my Kindle nonstop while reading. I love romantic suspense books with military elements. I love me a man in uniform and nail biting scenes. Elaine hit those elements plus many, many more. Mandy and Rocco together are the perfect explosive pair. Their love is the intense kind of love that lasts through a lifetime. Another thing that got me with this book was the heart wrenching scenes. I have heard stories of PTSD from close friends and know that it is not something to mess around with. I felt so much towards Rocco. He is such a strong person but has been torn down to almost nothing. All my nurturing feelings were pushed to the forefront when it came to him. I am just thankful that Elaine gave him his own personal angel to see him out of his own personal Hell.
I cannot wait until the next in this series comes out. I will be stalking Elaine’s blog to find out when it goes on preorder everyday! Loved, loved, loved it!! ...more

Christy has relocated from San Francisco to Sand Diego after her mother had died. She is embarking on a new career as a real estate agent with her first open house. Well, she has a slight mix up with the address and end ups walking into the wrong house where she finds a man sleeping. Naked. Good God is he naked! I really wish I was able to walk in on him myself. ;) After she tries to leave quietly, she is quickly subdued by said naked man. Of course she doesn't go down easy, fighting the whole time. After some discussion, he lets her go. Christy knows her creepy co-worker has set her up for some kind of sick joke. While telling her boss about his idea of a prank, in walks the naked man from the house bearing flowers and her yard signs. She figures out that it was all a misunderstanding and wants to apologize by taking her to lunch the next day. Needless to say things heat up to explosive proportions at the speed of light. I don't blame her though, if a sexy ass naked man tied me up I would be all hot and bothered over him too.
Kyle. Nave SEAL. Tough as nails when it comes to his job but when it comes to Christy, he is putty in her hands. He is taken with her from the word go. He constantly finds himself thinking about her and can't seem to stay away. He needs to stay focused so he is able to find his missing comrade/best friend. He knows if he can't keep his head in the game it could spell disaster for everyone. One thing leads to another and everything seems to be falling apart.

This is the first book of Dina's I have read and might I say, I was thoroughly satisfied! I really like paranormal romance and what made this book even better was the suspense level. It had me at the edge of my seat frantically turning my virtual pages. Intense is not an accurate way to describe this book. What more accurately describes it is, Intensely intriguing with a side of holy crap did that just happen?!?!?! I want to give everyone a heads up, there are some gory things that happens that may not be for everyone but because I am a sick bastard, I ate up (no pun intended) every bit of it.
The writing is wonderful and unique as is the story. If you are a fan of fallen angels, this is definitely a book you have to check out. There are so many unique elements to this story that will also help keep you glued to the pages. Yezidism, the angel religion, was really, really captivating to me. The more we found out, the cooler it got.
There was honestly so much to this book that I absolutely loved and I can't just pick a few things to hit on without feeling like I am giving away some big surprise. This is one of those books where I am just going to say if you can handle some gore and suspense, just trust me in saying go out and buy this book. And then make sure you go and tell Dina how great you think it is. We need her to make more books!!! LOL!...more

The four archangels Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, and Azrael had fallen from Heaven millenia ago to find their lost archesses. These archesses were made specifically for them from God as a present to his four favorite angels. Jealousy ignited with the creation of these gifts which got the archesses cast and scattered to earth to protect them from the other angels that want to keep them for their own. A ridiculous amount of years later after falling from heaven to find them, the archangels are beginning to find their destined loves.
I was fortunate enough to get an advanced copy of Avenger's Angel through Netgalley sometime last year and I absolutely fell in love with the angels and their world. Uriel's book was amazing and I couldn't wait to find out more about the second one. Well when I heard it was going to be Gabriel, I was ecstatic and couldn't wait to read it.
Gabriel has been passing himself off as a member of a Scottish community for hundreds of years. Every time he comes back to the village, he says he is a member of a certain family. They know he is a kind and generous man but there is only one person in the village who knows exactly what he is. But I digress since he isn't an essential role in the book but provides a good support system for Gabriel when he first finds his archesses he has been searching his whole life for. When he goes to find her, all hell breaks loose. Just like anything else in life, you have to work hard for what you really want. In the end, it was a match made in Heaven, literally. Gabriel's struggle to find and keep his archess, Juliette, is inspiring for it shows how great true love really is and to never quit looking for it.
I am not going to write much about the archess Juliette but I would rather just tell you to read the book. I will say the she is the perfect match for Gabriel which of course is how it is supposed to be. ;) I do feel sorry for her that she is thrown into this world and the chaos that ensues having no idea what is going on. She definitely is a strong woman who I held a great amount of admiration for. She does get extra brownie points from me at the end when we find out that her friend is possibly Azrael's lost archess. XD I am most excited for his book and December 31st can't come quick enough!! ...more

It has a hot cover and the blurb sounded intriguing enough so I thought well ok let me start reading this author. OMFG! I have found my new favorite author! I am in love with Julie Ann Walker's Black Knight Inc. series!! *squee!!* Ok. Sorry I just couldn't help it the book was that good. I love when I get pleasantly surprised by an author when I have heard nothing about them. Makes me super happy.
Nate “Ghost” Weller is still feeling the pain, sorrow, and endless guilt over his best friend’s death a couple months before when they were kidnapped by terrorists and tortured for three days. Nate was forced to endure something that no one should ever have to do. Mr. Emotionless finds himself completely muddled with his emotions when Ali waltzes back into his life saying that someone is following her. Needless to say, he can’t seem to stay away from her but he also can’t help but hurt her when she is close. Something’s got to give.
Ali is determined to figure out why she feels as if she is constantly being stalked. She has little glimpses of someone who she thinks is following her but she is not certain. That is until one day while walking down the street, she falls victim of a mugging gone wrong. Thankfully a few concerned citizens came to her rescue but after that problem was over, she finds the guy who has been following her. When she goes to confront him, he flees. Now that her suspicions are confirmed, she turns to the one person who she knows will help her, even if he wants nothing to do with her or not.
I found myself completely sucked into Nate and Ali’s romance. There were times that I found myself chuckling over the dialogue and thinking that it is not often that I find a book to actually make me laugh out loud. On the flip side, there was also intense action. I absolutely love a good suspense book. They are my cup of tea. I can’t get enough of them. I have read a lot so for me to have found this series and am rating it as my favorite, it has to be excellent. I am just kicking myself that I didn’t read this sooner! ...more
