I’ve heard her books were good but with a TBR pile being a mile long, I never got around to reading her before. I can say that I am now a big fan.
To describe the writing style of this book, it is like Fifty Shades. Everything I read has her being compared to the famed books left and right. Well considering I couldn’t get past the 6% mark on my Kindle while reading Fifty (for those who love this series, to each her own), I was not sure about If I Were You. Straight off, the writing is so much better and I could actually stand reading it! Lol! Now I will say that there were times I wanted to shake the crap out of Sara more than once because I felt she was a little on the naïve side, but I could look past that to the plot. I find myself trying like hell to figure out what happened to Rebecca myself.
This is a difficult review to write. There is just so much that goes on that is so important to the book that pretty much anything will come across as a spoiler. So let’s see…I can tell you that I think I am in love with the artist Chris Merit in this book. Lol. Of course I’m there are times where I think he is all sorts of a grade A a-hole but then he will turn around and redeem himself. And Mark, the gallery manager, I’m still not sure what to think of him. He does entice the crap out of me though. I can’t wait to read more about him in Being Me. I think there might be more to him than meets the eye.
The best/worse part of the book…the ending. It leaves you with your heart pumping and then it’s all like boom! You have to read the next one to find out what happens. Lol. I was all into what was going in and it should have occurred to me that I didn’t have any other pages to read. Thankfully sitting on my bookshelf was Being Me so I didn’t have to wait to read it.
I definitely recommend this book and series. It will keep you flipping those pages as fast as you can. I know it did for me!...more

This is the first book of Dina's I have read and might I say, I was thoroughly satisfied! I really like paranormal romance and what made this book even better was the suspense level. It had me at the edge of my seat frantically turning my virtual pages. Intense is not an accurate way to describe this book. What more accurately describes it is, Intensely intriguing with a side of holy crap did that just happen?!?!?! I want to give everyone a heads up, there are some gory things that happens that may not be for everyone but because I am a sick bastard, I ate up (no pun intended) every bit of it.
The writing is wonderful and unique as is the story. If you are a fan of fallen angels, this is definitely a book you have to check out. There are so many unique elements to this story that will also help keep you glued to the pages. Yezidism, the angel religion, was really, really captivating to me. The more we found out, the cooler it got.
There was honestly so much to this book that I absolutely loved and I can't just pick a few things to hit on without feeling like I am giving away some big surprise. This is one of those books where I am just going to say if you can handle some gore and suspense, just trust me in saying go out and buy this book. And then make sure you go and tell Dina how great you think it is. We need her to make more books!!! LOL!...more

I don't want to offend anyone but I don't feel like this book was as great as everyone makes it out to be. There were times I was yelling at my Kindle about how the characters were so wishy washy with their emotions and actions. I really feel like it could have been so much better written.
I may go back and finish reading it when I find the time but I can't honestly say that I will be at the top of my personal reads list....more

The tattoo on his pec is so yummy looking I just want to lick it up. *wipes drool off chin* Of course you don't want to hear my ramblings of the half naked (One day someone will make a cover with a completely naked guy. I vote David Gandy. I would be first in line to buy it. *waggles eyebrows* I really need to stay on topic. Lol.)
We find Destiny kicked out of Hell because she is one soul short of getting all expenses paid vacation in Hell that every demon works hard for. Being the sensual person that she is and the whole no sex rule she is forced to live by, she feels the need to break a few rules in order to get her soul quick. She materializes a sexy red dress and goes into a bar and sees a delicious cowboy in a black hat sitting at the bar. What she thinks is an easy target turns out to be the most challenging thing she will ever encounter in her life.
Chance knows Destiny will be at this bar tonight and is determined to save her soul before she is eternally damned into the fires of Hell. He always draws in the demons with hints of wild nights but never actually goes through with it. That's Chance's rule, or it was until the sexy demon in the red dress coming his way makes him think again. The rules change in an instant and Chance knows he must do anything necessary to save this addicting woman or die trying.
The beginning of this story had me zipping through the pages at top speeds. I have read my share of steamy books but this was so wonderfully written I was regretting reading it while my husband wasn't home. Destiny is all about finding her soul and becoming a demon but she slowly comes to like her quirky accidental friends and realizes that this time is much better then the retro era she was from. It helps that she eventually learn that all her misfortunes (and there were some heartbreaking ones) were actually the work of a demon. Why you ask? One word. Chance. Speaking of that sexy nephilim, there were times in this story where I thought he was going to lose it completely. Destiny had her issues but Chance kept tearing my heart into tiny pieces over and over. The man could have used a hug, or a Xanex. Whichever. I personally vote for some more smokin' hot sex! (With me of course. HA!) Who knew a demon and a half-angel make such a good couple?! ...more

When people are on the brink of death they call him in to take their sins away so they can pass with a clean slate. For this he is shunned from society where people cross to the other side of the street and avoid eye contact. Needless to say he has very little contact with people which just breaks my heart. He is helping people out and should be praised for this not looked down upon! I guess it's the whole scared of what he is way of thinking. One thing is for certain, the local doctor and his helper will never ignore Owen. The good doctor knows what it's like to hide who you truly are.
Andras is entranced with Owen. From the first time he laid eyes on him he was hooked. When Owen decides to make the trek home in the middle of the night, Andras gets the bad feeling and sets after him. Finally finding him in the forest, he sees that he is being attacked by a vampire. He does what any other person secretly in love with someone does, attack the thing as if his life depended on it. Even though the vampire is now slain, Andras knows that his son will soon come looking for his father and will attack if they don't leave the area.
Making it back to Owen's cabin, he asks Andras what he really is. Not wanting to lie, he tells him the truth, he is a long tooth, or vampire. Of course he isn't the traditional kind for he does not feed off humans but animals. After taking this all in, Owen is actually completely fine with everything. Actually, it's quite a turn on. Boy do those two burn up the sheets! The sexual energy is on the top of the charts. I am pretty sure anyone who reads this book will agree with me too. ;)
The story was written wonderfully. You can tell that Keta put in a lot of work researching that time period for this book from the dialect to what is traditional in the villages those days. I really enjoyed the connection that Owen and Andras had between the two of them. Oh and I loved that Keta threw in some tongue and cheek between the characters too. Some of the stuff that came out of Owen's mouth made me laugh. It was so refreshing! I am so happy I had the chance to read this wonderful book. Keta has a new fan. :)...more

Chris makes you stand up and take notice of these fantastic characters. Not only does she have you glued to the pages, she makes you light on fire from the passion Anya and Kylor share. Where can I find me one of those hunky protectors? Can't say I blame Anya for falling for Kylor. He is every woman's dream!
On a side note, I just want to say I absolutely loved the cover. Usually my faves are the ones with half naked men but this one is the bees knees! :)...more

Not only does she write some awesomely, sexy books, she knows how to pick a cover! Phew!! *fans face* I will totally admit that the first Lissa Matthews book I read was because of the cover. I am one of those people who judge books by their covers. I guess that's the good thing about romance novels since most have half naked buff males on the outside to draw horn dogs like me to buy them. Hehe...
Alrighty, I am getting a little off track here. Cort. If you didn't love blue collar works before, you will definitely love them by the end of this book. Or maybe it was the hunky, brooding, electrician that you will fall in love with. Just know, you will have to fight me for him! LOL. Sexy on the inside and out, he gets my motors going like nothing else. I love a guy that can work with his hands because he generally has a step up in the pleasure department.
*Shakes head* Man I think my mind is in the gutter today. Back on the book, Crystal. Not on what the sexy electrician can do with his hands. ;) You know what else made me fall in love with Cort myself? He had that one night stand with Blue years ago but he instantly knew she was different and had kept her in his heart and mind the whole time. She set the standard of the women he saw from that night on. Gotta love a man who falls into instant love. It's so swoon worthy!
And let's not forget about our spunky Blue. I loved how free spirited she is. Take for instance the naked photo art she did. You have to be confident in your body image to do those pictures and extra confident to display them in your home. I wish I had the balls to do something like that. Of course, I wanted to slap her for just up and leaving Cort in the middle of the night five years ago. But I can forgive her since in the end, she showed him how she really felt for him so it made it all better in my book.
I you are looking for a great read that gets your juices flowing, this book, hell anything of Lissa's is where you need to look....more

I mean come on, it's an Ellora's Cave book. Lol. (No offense to the authors hiding gems with this publisher.) Let's just say pleasantly surprised does not describe how I felt towards this book. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I was literally sucked into the book it was so good. It kept me up reading way too late into the night.
Ronan is an immortal warrior and a Scottish Sgian Dubh Guardian who is forced to protect the clairvoyant medium Syrena from and evil, creepy incubus that wants to steal her life force to become whole and unstoppable. Upon meeting her, he wants nothing more than to bed her, many, many times but if he gives into the impulse, he will be punished.
Sex. That's all Syrena can think about when she is around Ronan. When she finally figures out why he is really there, she decides to give in to temptation and desires. Little do they know is when they finally come together, their setting fire to the sheets escapades are giving off an incredible amount of energy which is making the incubus impossible to defeat.
Seriously, if you are not sure if you would like this book, believe me, you absolutely will. So take a chance and pick up this book. You won't be disappointed! :)...more

We met Brian "Butch" O'Neil in the first book through Beth who found himself surrounded by vampires and not able to get out. You know what though? He fits in. Butch especially connects with Vischous perfectly.
The brotherhood offered him any and everything he would ever want but even though he felt that this was his home now, there was still something missing. It all clicked when he spotted Marissa. The earth literally moved and he knew that she was meant to be his. He had never seen a most beautiful person in all his life. And she seems just as enamored with him, even though he's not sure why. Which brings us to the present. If she was equally entranced, why has he not seen or heard from her in months? She was avoiding him and he couldn't figure out why. So Butch decides to take out his frustrations on battling some lessers but what do you know? Luck was just not on his side and found himself being sacrificed in place of a civilian vampire to spare his life. Thankfully Butch is found by a frantic V but no one knows what exactly is wrong with him and if he can be saved.
In comes Marissa. Feeling that something is not quite right seeing the brothers at Havers', she investigates and can't believe what she is seeing. Butch. Strapped to a bed and looking like death reincarnate. Not thinking, she rushes into the quarantined room. When she see with her own eyes he is alive, she is beyond relieved and knows she can no longer fight her feelings towards this fascinating human. That decision becomes the now when Havers walks in and sees her in the quarantine room without the proper precautions on. Not sure if Butch is contagious, Marissa finds herself locked in the room with him until they can figure it out.
Weird things are going on with Butch since his dance with the Omega. He can't help but think that he is cursed but he gradually gets better with the help of Vischous and especially Marissa. As their connection gets deeper, Butch is hell bent on trying to figure out a way to be able to stay with Marissa forever. Whatever the risk.
I was really excited to read Butch and Marissa's story. I couldn't help but get emotionally involved in Butch's struggles to come to terms with his new fate and his growing love for Marissa. He still holds a soft spot in my heart. :) ...more
