Finally getting up the nerve to track her down, he goes to her bar only to find that things are a little off. That is until he see the object of his desire and everything else doesn't matter.
Lucy is shocked to find Brandon here at her home. Not sure how he found her, she can't help but give in to their explosive chemistry. After failing to successfully erase his memories from the night before, she finds Brandon back at her home the very next night and knows everything. Not wanting to give each other up, there may be a way for them to be together but is Brandon strong enough to fight for his one true love?
Sexy characters and sizzling plot line makes for a delicious story that will keep you up reading way too late into the night. Brandon is a sexy as all get out hockey player with a secret desire to meet the enchantress that graces his hockey games. I loved his no backing down personality. It made for some great reading. And who wouldn't love Lucy's character. She is a freaking Goddess for crying out loud. Down to earth but knows when to lay down the law, Lucy is a wonderful leading lady that makes for some sizzling sexual escapades between her and Brandon.(less)

Don't get me wrong, It was still a great story but not as good as the rest. Phury became the Primale of the Chosen to help repopulate the Brotherhood's line. There's a little issue with this though, he is basically still a virgin. A little hard to repopulate when you don't copulate. *snickers* Anywhoo, so Phury decides he will take this new role seriously and does the whole ceremony thing where he has to do the deed with one of the chosen in the mating chambers. However, the scene he walks in on is not one of his liking. The Chosen was strapped to the bed, presented for him, with a draped cloth covering her face. Although unexpected, he could get over that but he couldn't get over the fear rolling off her in waves. Phury knew right there that he couldn't take what was offered in front of him. He takes her from that place to the otherside to his room. Well one night (without sealing the deal) turns into months. Now this is where I want to start slapping the holy hell out of Phury. You have a wonderful female, who is a Chosen which means she is a kind and beautiful woman, and you ignore her basic need for the pleasure she herself seeks. Really dude, I know you have issues but getcha head outta your ass! Grr...
Poor Cormia. She is taught that sex will be painful for her always so when she is the one chosen to be the first on the chopping block for the Primale, she is terrified. The gentle hand and voice of the Primale quickly changes her mind though. Cormia can see how he is a male of worth and sets out to not only win his body over but also his heart. Too bad it takes months of her being under the same roof before he decides to pay her any attention. One thing I will say about the Chosen, she is definitely patient. I wouldn't have stuck around as long as she did with no results.
Finally we start to see Cormia have more of a voice which entails catches Phury's attention more and more. He can no longer deny the pull he feels towards this woman. Finally doing something about it. The sexual energy finally heats up to unbearable proportions and we get to see them come together. Which only took forever! Lol.
Overall what made the book better was the other characters thrown into the mix with their story line. It added a nice refresher to the book and made it better. At least towards the end I wasn't wanting to beat some sense into Phury. :) (less)

Your story makes me so sad. I swear Ward just loves to torture her characters to the point that you have to truly wonder how they will ever make it back to at least half of who they were. Tohr is one example. Bonded males live their lives for their shellans, so when Tohr was approached by the whole Brotherhood to be told that his world was violently taken away from him, he goes berserk. There is a crack in a concrete wall to prove how badly a man can hurt when his wife and unborn child are taken away. Tohr goes on a rampage in his office and then disappears for years with no contact with the Brotherhood and John Matthew, the closest thing he has had to a son. In a few of the past books, we get some glimpses of a man who is basically staving himself and wishing for death every single second of every single day so he can be reunited with his heart.
The Brotherhood gets word that a fallen angel, Lassiter, has found something they have lost. Tohrment is the shell of his former self. After suffering for over a year over his lost Wellsie, Lassiter starts pushing Tohr to start helping himself. Wellsie isn't coming back and she would want him to move on. After many attempts at this strategy, Lassiter is getting concerned that there is little time left to get Wellsie and her unborn son out of the inbetween. Which brings us to John Matthew and Xhex's mating ceremony. Tohr goes and retrieves Wellsie's mating dress and gives it to Xhex to wear for hers knowing it is what his precious shellan would have wanted. While presenting Xhex with his gift, they are both surprised when they receive a visit from a blast from the past, and not a good one.
No'One, Xhex's mother and woman who Tohr watched die and buried himself, makes a surprising appearance in this world. Apparently after taking her life, she found herself in the Scribe Virgin's domain and knew instantly that she was given another chance at a form of living. Taking it upon herself, she dons a hooded robe and goes by the name No'One, not wanting to be the person she was before. After years of living this way, Payne makes her think that there could be more to her life so she decides it is the time to go to the other side and introduce herself to her daughter. No'One is approached by the fallen angel to ask for her help in making the tortured Tohr better. Wanting to do anything to make up for what she did to him in the past, she agrees to do anything necessary.
Tohr is still beyond stunned to know that the woman underneath the hood is the woman who took her own life with his dagger. He stays his distance from her for a bit but soon comes to start to get angry at the fact that his Wellsie is gone and not coming back but this woman who did an unforgivable act was given a second chance at life. How is that fair? Plagued by his overwhelming sorrow, he is not made to feel any better when he keeps having recurring dreams of his beloved and his child in a dark, dank place with no way to get out. The longer he has these dreams, the farther away and fuzzier they become but he can't figure out why. He soon learns that they're stuck in horrible place that could condemn their souls to eternity of nothingness. Tohr is willing to do anything except the one thing Lassiter tells him he has to do...move on.
Lover Reborn tore my heart into tiny pieces that I wanted to give to Tohr to help piece together the parts of his heart that were missing. Out of all the BDB books, this one has the goods to make you tear up or flat out cry (like I did). It takes a lot for me to cry so that can tell you how emotionally invested I became in this book. I am just overly ecstatic that Tohr and No'One both got their happily ever after they both deserve. :)(less)

When people are on the brink of death they call him in to take their sins away so they can pass with a clean slate. For this he is shunned from society where people cross to the other side of the street and avoid eye contact. Needless to say he has very little contact with people which just breaks my heart. He is helping people out and should be praised for this not looked down upon! I guess it's the whole scared of what he is way of thinking. One thing is for certain, the local doctor and his helper will never ignore Owen. The good doctor knows what it's like to hide who you truly are.
Andras is entranced with Owen. From the first time he laid eyes on him he was hooked. When Owen decides to make the trek home in the middle of the night, Andras gets the bad feeling and sets after him. Finally finding him in the forest, he sees that he is being attacked by a vampire. He does what any other person secretly in love with someone does, attack the thing as if his life depended on it. Even though the vampire is now slain, Andras knows that his son will soon come looking for his father and will attack if they don't leave the area.
Making it back to Owen's cabin, he asks Andras what he really is. Not wanting to lie, he tells him the truth, he is a long tooth, or vampire. Of course he isn't the traditional kind for he does not feed off humans but animals. After taking this all in, Owen is actually completely fine with everything. Actually, it's quite a turn on. Boy do those two burn up the sheets! The sexual energy is on the top of the charts. I am pretty sure anyone who reads this book will agree with me too. ;)
The story was written wonderfully. You can tell that Keta put in a lot of work researching that time period for this book from the dialect to what is traditional in the villages those days. I really enjoyed the connection that Owen and Andras had between the two of them. Oh and I loved that Keta threw in some tongue and cheek between the characters too. Some of the stuff that came out of Owen's mouth made me laugh. It was so refreshing! I am so happy I had the chance to read this wonderful book. Keta has a new fan. :)(less)

Liliana finds herself smack dab in the middle of the Dark Kingdom, the home of the Lord of the Abyss. Oh yeah, then she was thrown in the dungeon for a night. Awesome. But the little that she sees of Micah, she can tell there is still a good person under all the armor he wears.
Micah is fascinated how Liliana doesn't tip toe around him, looks him in the eye, and tells him no. No one has ever done that. When she decides to tell him a story, he continually seeks her out, so he can hear the story of course. But then he finds himself wanting to act on other urges when he is around her, like see her naked.
Will Liliana be able to get Micah to remember his past and what he is destined for without destroying the love they have created?
This is the first time I have read a novel by Nalini Singh and I must say, it will not be my last. I can't understand how authors can come up with such creative ideas and bring them to life. Nalini has a spectacular talent that is definitely not being wasted. :)(less)

N.J. Walters did a wonderful job telling Alexandra and Joshua's story. Alex, from the start, is a strong woman who handles her dramatic changes in her life with grace. She shows a kind heart to people who normally would be looked down upon and courage when a sexy man she is drawn to changes her life forever.
I really loved the back and forth sexual tension between the two characters. I love that Joshua has such strong morals that he doesn't want to take away Alex's decision of her new mate. I love how fierce he is when it comes to his family and protecting what is his or what he is in charge of.
I also liked how Walters wrote from the first person view of the bounty hunters and Alex's father, James. It added a new prospective to break up some of the story and to show a little more depth to the story and slowly sets up the story for the next book. I think authors walk a fine line writing in this style. Sometimes they can go overboard and end up veering away from the actual story line but Walters executed this perfectly. I am looking forward to reading more of her books. :)(less)

It was a pleasant surprise that I thoroughly enjoyed.
Andrea Lockhart finds herself in Woodbine, South Carolina in search of a werewolf that has gotten a lot of attention the past two years. Not the usual story she is assigned, she throws herself into finding facts that prove this creature is either true or a hoax. From the second she stepped foot in Woodbine, she finds she is experiencing a streak of bad luck. While hanging upside down from a tree in the woods by a trap from a local, a kid that works at the local paper finds her and calls for help.
To Andrea's horror, she finds Sean Hunter, the jerk who beat her in the running for editor of their college newspaper and the man who told her she would never make it as a reporter. Once over the shock of realizing who he is, her next thought is why he is in Woodbine instead of somewhere bigger.
Finally realizing who Andrea is, Sean can't get over how good she looks and how different she was from their college days. Sexier and more confident, he finds he can't resist her. Problem is, she is fighting him even though he knows she is feeling the same way.
In the middle of a budding romance, they find clues and even the werewolf itself. The story takes a shocking turn when they find themselves waiting to tag the werewolf when everything goes horribly wrong. Shocking twists and steaming romance had me stuck to the pages of this book. Angela Campbell knows how to write a griping story. Can't wait to read more from her.(less)

So desperate that he is blindly following the hints from someone called The Librarian who leads him to the lost teen singer Syrene. All hints say that she is the one who will lead him to his son but how can he possibly put all his faith and hope into what this anonymous person tells him?
Pippa, artist formally know as Syrene, has found peace writing children's books in her little part of the world but it is quickly disrupted when Dylan comes waltzing into the daycare center where she reads them her books. Not wanting to appear in his tv show but doesn't want to disappoint the people in her town, she makes a deal with Dylan - find her family or she won't appear on the show. While being sent on a wild goose chase to another city, they come across an older woman who has some answers to Pippa's past.
Full of magical twists, this book will leave you enchanted and wanting more. I really liked how the book was about Sirens but it wasn't taken over by it. Yes, it was always there but wasn't in your face all the time. I got to know the characters without roadblocks. If you are looking for a new type of paranormal read. This is for you.(less)

He looks to a list of women that are matches to become a soul mate for one of his fallen brothers. Determined to help, he find Nessa St. James, a sexy professor he can't help fantasizing about. But there is no way she is meant to be his. Not only does he not deserve a soul mate, he has no soul of his own which is why he struggles not to go rogue everyday. To make matters worse, Nessa is being hunted by a serial killer out to get rid of all the fallen's soul mates.
Nessa realizes quickly that the tall drink of water in her lab means business. After saving her life, he kidnaps her and brings her to G2, the nightclub owned by Zer where she is supposed to decided which man to bond with. It sounds great except Nessa wants no part in it. She just wants to go back to her old life which includes her lab and her research. Having been forced to choose, one of Zer's brothers, Nael, convinced her to take a chance on Zer even though he tells her he won't bond. Scared about everything that is going on, Nessa escapes and goes to the one place that always gave her peace. And then all hell breaks loose.
There are a lot of people commenting that there are a lot of books with angel themes. I honestly have only heard of two series and this is definitely my favorite out of the two. I was extremely excited when Ms. Marsh herself contacted me to see if I would like a copy of her latest book. My eyes literally bugged which was then proceeded by a squeal that made my cat jump off the couch beside me with a startled hiss. That's a feat for my kitty cow too. Lol. I love how Anne didn't make them necessarily "good" but they have a darker side than you would initially think. I love dark reads that have light at the end. Give this book and series a chance. Of course I can't guarantee you will get much sleep! :)(less)

I mean come on, it's an Ellora's Cave book. Lol. (No offense to the authors hiding gems with this publisher.) Let's just say pleasantly surprised does not describe how I felt towards this book. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. I was literally sucked into the book it was so good. It kept me up reading way too late into the night.
Ronan is an immortal warrior and a Scottish Sgian Dubh Guardian who is forced to protect the clairvoyant medium Syrena from and evil, creepy incubus that wants to steal her life force to become whole and unstoppable. Upon meeting her, he wants nothing more than to bed her, many, many times but if he gives into the impulse, he will be punished.
Sex. That's all Syrena can think about when she is around Ronan. When she finally figures out why he is really there, she decides to give in to temptation and desires. Little do they know is when they finally come together, their setting fire to the sheets escapades are giving off an incredible amount of energy which is making the incubus impossible to defeat.
Seriously, if you are not sure if you would like this book, believe me, you absolutely will. So take a chance and pick up this book. You won't be disappointed! :)(less)

The poor girl is haunted by nightmares after her father's violent death. Instead of normal recurring nightmares, she is experiencing progressive dreams that change each night and go further into the nightmare like a bad movie. She is even more rattled when she almost hits a man in the middle of the road. When she starts experiencing some freaky abilities she is not sure who she should trust to tell her secret. That plan falls apart when the mysterious man she almost hit tells her he knows and has seen what she has done. She soon realizes that her someone else knows about her abilities and is out to get her and something that her father had under his protection. She must put her trust in her growing powers and the man she loves in order to defeat this nightmare.
Cael. By the end of the book, I was utterly in love with the man myself. He was a great hero for the book and added a lot to the story. Sexy and mysterious, he made me want to find him and pin him down to a bed and have my way with him. You know what I really loved about his character? There were parts of the story that had a high emotional level and we were shown a man that wasn't afraid to shed a tear or two. I honestly don't think I have read too many stories where the hero actually cried. And it didn't make him a pansy either. I think that was the point in the story that I wished Cael was real and him to be all mine. We also see him struggle with the fact that even though he thinks it is a distraction that could work against him, he falls utterly in love with Addie quickly and completely. He knows that Addie is a strong, sexy woman who can hold her own but he can't help the protective instincts that come out in him whenever they are confronted with danger. He also struggles with the fact that she is the daughter of the man who mentored him and was like a father to him. But everything seems to throw Addie and Cael together. Fate has brought them together but they have to believe in their love to make everything work out in the end.
I unfortunately couldn't read this fast enough because real life got in the way but let me tell you, if I could have avoided things like taking care of kids, laundry, and dishes, I would have probably read this book in less than 24 hours. Beware Regan, you have a new stalker! Hehe...(less)

I loved this book. I think I have found another author to add to my group that I faithfully stalk. :p I was curious how Isaiah was going to be in this book. He seemed like he was distant in Alexandra's Legacy. I love the shy or wounded men in romance novels. I find them most intriguing and Isaiah is no exception.
He carries the guilt of his sister's disappearance years ago and has decided he shouldn't be trusted to take over the security of the pack. As a result, he stays distant from the pack and his family but if there is anything his family needs, he doesn't hesitate or ask questions. I love his loyalty towards his family. I think that makes for the basics of the beginnings of a great man.
I loved the tension between Isaiah and Meredith. It takes a strong woman to handle all her children and maintain the status of alpha. Of course I wish she could have trusted Isaiah enough to tell him about her adopted children or have the courage to at least get to know him a little better. She probably would have avoided all the trouble they went through.
I am hopeful though that Walters will write a couple stories using Meredith's unmated children. Her sons give the impression that they will make great characters that I can drool over.

If you haven’t read anything by her yet, you better have enough money and time allotted so you can read her books. I absolutely find her books addicting and this book can be another added to her growing list.
Mia is back in her hometown after an attack and the area pack didn’t do anything to help find her attackers. Still trying to deal with the aftereffects, she happens to stumble over a handsome shifter who is shot three times with silver bullets. Even though she complains about lugging his huge body into her house, she digs the three bullets out because if she didn’t, he would die. When he awakens, she realizes that he is Gibson de La Vega, of the family that has made hers a living hell all those years ago. Whatr she didn’t realize was that this was the man who would forever change her life.
Gibson is the protector of his pack. He sees a threat that has come into the area and goes to head it off but ends up getting wounded. When he comes to, he finds a strong, delectable woman that has helped him. Every instinct in him is screaming at him to keep her close but he soon finds out that she is Porter and it will make things more challenging. But with a little persuasion from his mother, they help transition Mia’s family back into the pack more fully in hopes to make up for his family’s mistakes. Of course, the perk of having Mia closer to him is an awesome bonus. But when things get tough, are they able to keep their feeligs solid and intact? Guess you will just have to read it to find out.
I loved how well Mia complimented Gibson. Even though she is one tough cookie, she helps soften up the pack protector. Every man needs a woman they can be share their love and passion with and Gibson found the perfect match in Mia. So if you want to read about a great love story with some awesome action thrown in, you’ve found your book.(less)

Only thing is, he's not out there. She had a perfectly good guy once upon a time but the fates were against her on that one. Desperate, and quite frankly not thinking it is real, Amber takes Sarah's offer to go on a journey to visit someone who can bring her the man of her dreams. When nothing happens, they head back to the hotel where Amber decides to take a quick nap. When she awakens, that's when the real fun happens.
Full of adventure, love, and sex appeal, Nour hit the nail on the head with this one. The story brings you into a world of mysticism that makes for a great read. Amber finds herself caught in another world completely when she finds herself in the bedroom of a viking when reall,y he is an alien. There aren't many stories out there with this type of story so it is refreshing to be able to read one. To be able to have some of the stuff from this book would be beyond awesome. I mean, what girl wouldn't want a machine that make whatever article of clothing you want the way you want it?????
And when I say adventure, it's not fight for your life on a pirate ship but for history buffs out there like me, we got to "jump" back in time to experience some of the Earth's past. It was a great little addition to the story. :)(less)

Olivia decides it best to know exactly how to control her new powers and wants to prove to both herself and everyone else that has doubts, that Caleb loves her not for her Charmer abilities but because of her. She throws herself into training her training and becomes closer to her guardians there to protect her. She is quickly advised to keep a little distance between her and the other guardians because her Charmer gifts make other people drawn to her. Not just the men but women. (Not necessarily in a sexual way with the women.) She also is given the gift of knowing more about her parents and their past. It turns out that someone close to her is actually related to her and she that makes all the difference from feeling completely alone with not family to having something to live for.
There are some points in the story that had me cringing because of what she was put through. Oh and can I say, I think she should be with Alec. The way he protects her any way he can and how guilty he feels when he wasn’t there to protect her from an incident that no women should ever have to encounter. He clearly feels strongly towards Olivia. I guess in the end it all worked out but I can still dream!
This second installment upped the ante and left me wanting to re-read the book all over again. I can’t wait to see what the third book in this series has in store for me!(less)

When it takes much longer than anticipated for this rescue mission, Wilder is concerned that if they don't find Nathaniel by the full moon, which is right around the corner, he will end up taking Satira, and not in a gentle way. Of course she doesn't seem all to concerned with the idea which only makes him all the more nervous.
Throw in another bloodhound, yummy sex, and adventure and you have what makes up a spectacular book. I am a fan of Moira Rogers' books so I was extremely excited when I won this book in a giveaway. *does silly touchdown dance* Other than the face that I love winning contest, I love winning books from authors I adore. I raced through this book with gusto and loved every minute of it. I loved the idea of bloodhounds hunting vampires. Yes I know that has been done before but it was different at the same time. The story is set in a world where the paranormal is known to society and not hidden from the world. I think that makes this story stand out for the better. Oh and let's not forget the smokin' hot scenes between the two main characters. I'm pretty sure I had one of those looks on my face while reading if you get my drift. *wink wink*
Seriously though, for those of you who have never read a Moira Rogers book before, you should definitely start. Like yesterday. It doesn't matter which one it is either. They are all spectacular! I definitely can't wait to read the next in this series. I'm glad you can't get arrested for stalking an author's page.(less)

Kylah has been having terrible nightmares that leave her exhausted. So when she sees something that she can't even fathom is real, she is thrown into a world that she was hidden from for her safety. What I loved best about Kylah was her spunk. Being a good ole Irish girl will give you that in spades but I fell in love with her myself. She understood that her brothers are overprotective and it is irrational for her to have a bodyguard all the time but she doesn't fight it because she knows they have good intentions. Of course, when she gets Syd as a bodyguard, she can't complain when this charming, attractive man makes her feel so comfortable and gives her compliments she has never heard.
Everything is shot to hell when she is attacked by the person who imprisoned her before and ultimately changed her life. She discovers her world isn't what it is seems. She quickly discovers that her family are gods who took her memories away from her for her own well being. Kylah also discovers a mysterious stranger, Aerric, who she can't help but feel completely safe with and discovers that she is his in her previous life. And let me tell you, the way Aerric is described in the book, I want me a piece of that!
This really was an addicting book that I read in less than a day (Which is a feat for me with three children underfoot. Lol.) and ignored the housework. I have a soft spot for Irish characters being that part of my family immigrated from there. To me, the men are sexy as sin and the females are tough to boot. I can definitely say though that at the end of the book it had me saying, "What? That's it? No! I need to know what happens next!" Lol. I am hoping that the next book gives Kylah's brother Dillon his chance at a HEA or even the delicious Syd. January 2013 can't come fast enough!!!(less)

From previous books, the spark between the two has caught my attention and I couldn't wait to read their story. Lucian does what he wants when he wants and doesn't care what anyone else thinks, or at least that is how we perceive him to be in previous books. In Eternal Captive we get to see more into the person inside.
Bronwyn helps bring out the protector and lover in Lucian. Not wanting to be offered to the Breeding Male, Bronwyn tells everyone she found her true mate but Lucian can't help but feel an undeniable pull towards this particular female. With a turn of events that brings out the protector on Lucian, he and Bronwyn become closer and that's when the sparks really fly. Their chemistry was literally setting my Kindle screen on fire it was so intense.
Laura Wright has definitely outdone herself with this third installment in this series. I love Bronwyn and Lucian before but she made me invest my heart into this book. I can't wait to see where she takes this series with the new characters she has introduced. :) (less)

It was full of surprises that even though I figured them out, I wasn't expecting Shelley's reaction. I felt so much for her in this book. I can't even fathom what she went through all those years and how she came out of it intact. Even though she came out a little damaged and frail, she is stronger then she realizes. James helps bring out her strength without her even knowing.
So I wasn't sure how I was going to like having James as the sexy main squeeze. I couldn't get the image of an older less attractive father out of my head. I had to keep telling myself that in this series they age slower than humans. Eventually I thought of James in a sexy hero sort of way and loved that I got to see deeper into him then in previous books. I love that he was given the chance to find another mate. After the heartache he went through with his first mate, he deserved a second chance at love. His character did not disappoint and kept me glued to my Kindle screen.
I enjoyed finding out more about a new character Quinn. It is finally revealed towards the end of the book what his real motives of joining the bounty hunters were. It gives you a sneak peek into what we should look forward to with the next book, which in my opinion will not come fast enough.(less)

After I read detail in the story, I went to investigate other reviews on trust old Goodreads. I read that there are a lot of resemblances to the famous book series but I actually fairly enjoyed the books (much better than the movies although I have to say I watch for the Taylor Lautner eye candy.) and thought well it’s pretty good so far so I will leave my judgments for the end. Well I didn’t exactly wait for the ending to come to the conclusion that I liked this better than Twilight. Yes, I said it. It’s better than the famed series. I do want to point out that The Charmed just has elements that remind me of it. There are different things that happen during the book but honestly, the characters felt like they weren’t some thrown together ignorant people.
Let’s take the main character, Olivia, for example. She has a very gifted talent of music. She can wield the piano keys with her fingers to create masterpieces or duplicate the originals. What did Bella have as a talent? Second guessing herself and falling. Lol. And the differences in the love interests are not as dramatic but I feel that Caleb is more grown up than Edward. The whole story in general to me has a more adult feel.
So I say give this new author a chance to shine like she deserves. Me, I will be waiting for the second to come out in the next few weeks.(less)

You can definitely read this book as a standalone, but it probably would of helped if I read the first in the series to be used to all the different types of characters and this whole world. By the end of the book though, I was flipping pages like a madwoman trying to find out what happens. I ended up reading it in less than 24 hours with little sleep. :)
Gabe. Where can I get me one of him? Sexy and smart? That is a diabolical combination that left me wanting to hunt down this man and make him my own. Poor Gabe struggles every day with an eye problem that gets worse and worse everyday. I just wanted to hug him and tell him it would be ok every time I read about it. He can't even shift into his wolf form because he will become vulnerable because of his eyesight. Even though I was totally feeling for him, he doesn't use it as a crutch in his life. Hell, he didn't even tell Lorin. She had to find out from one of her friends.
Speaking of Lorin, Gabe and her are one hot couple. At first, all they can do is be at each other's throat until the both secretly admit to themselves that they have the undeniable urge to strip the other naked and ravage them. With a little nudge, they take a tumble in bed and find they can't get enough of each other. Honestly, I wanted to claw my way into the book and join them the sex was that great. ;)
Through all the digs and bed olympics going on, they are also having to deal with an unknown danger that comes to life when Lorin finds a strange box that they think might give them insight to their past and how they came to be. Intrigue, sensual energy, and danger makes for an addicting combination that has you making more coffee to stay up late and get up early to finish this book. Now the only thing I didn't like about the book is the fact that I want to read about Gabe's brother and Lorin's best friend. *sigh* I guess I will have to dig up some patience to wait it out. (less)

I was anticipating this book from the first book we meet John in. We meet him as a scrawny, awkward, pre-trans and get to watch him grow into his new body and emotions. He is one of my favorite books in this series. Not only do we get to go more into his story, we also get more of Qhuinn and Blay. I hope they get their own book soon. I want them together so bad!
At the beginning of the story, JM is in a frenzy to try to find Xhex who is kidnapped by Lash from the previous book. The scene where they finally track down where Lash is staying, they search all the rooms and come to the one that was holding her. Little did they know Xhex was in the room while they were there but they couldn't see her. When John broke down it about broke my heart! I just wanted to jump in those pages and give him a massive hug and tell him she is in the room. If wasn't already in love with John Matthew at this point I was then. Gotta love when a man is so deeply in love with someone he openly breaks down in front of his brothers.
We see much more into Xhex's backstory and what is happening in the present. I had sort of a love/hate relationship with Xhex. I loved how strong she is and how she takes no crap from anyone and goes for what she wants. I wasn't a big fan of how she kept pushing John away. If it was clear as day that the man had it bad for me, I would be all over him like white on rice! Seriously, out of all the men in the BDB, I would go for JM. He pulls everyone of my heart strings and he is so damn sexy it makes me ache! How could Xhex not want him all to herself! Let's just say there were times that I wanted to go into the book and risk my life to slap some sense into the woman. It's horrible to say, but I am glad that the kidnapping woke her up to what she had right in front of her face. Yes she was a little standoffish at first but she eventually threw everything she had in the pot and that made all the difference to me.
I was really excited to see Tohr more in this book. Seeing more of him makes me feel so bad for him and making me want to comfort him through his mourning. Right before the mating ceremony of John and Xhex, I loved that No'One turned out to be Xhex's mother. I actually didn't see that one coming. Tohr's reaction was a little funny too because clearly he wasn't expecting ever to see this woman again. We also find out that Xhex's previous lover is still out there. Hopefully we will be seeing more of him soon. :) (less)

She brought two tortured souls together to make for some great chemistry. Let's take Amanda for example. She found the love of her life young but he was ripped away from her very soon after. She was left alone at the beginning of her pregnancy with her daughter. Fast forward to seven years later, she is dedicating all her time and energy into taking care of her severely asthmatic daughter. Amanda has never allowed herself to have any sort of love life because she knows at any second she could lose her little piece of her husband. Being a mother myself and married to a police officer, I know how hard it can be when they are not around to help out. I can't imagine how Amanda has pulled off being a single mother for seven years especially having to deal with her daughter's illness. The good part about this all? Amanda is much stronger than most women will be. Which she proves time and time again throughout the book. I don't normally get emotionally attached much to the female leads in books but I was right there with Amanda. What she felt, I felt. I don't think Shona could have written Amanda's character any better.
Now the bread and butter of this story...Dai. What can I say about this utterly tortured man. I am not familiar with his backstory since I didn't read The Goblin King, but I still wanted to reach in there and give Dai a big bear hug. Dai breaks a curse that has held him and his brother, Roan, in the Shadowlands for 2,000 years. Dai is nonetheless forced to live his life as a human but he doesn't think he deserves to live that way. He still feels unbelievable guilt for something he was forced to do during his time as a prisoner. Of course I would have a lot of guilt if I had to do what he did. Heck, I don't think I could even go through with it. Then on top of that, Dai had to watch his family succumb to the goblin side of life. I'm surprised he even has a heart left for as many times as it has shattered for his loved ones. We generally spend most of the story with Dai which was just fine with me. We already knew the score with Amanda, (Her issues are pretty simple compared to Dai's.) so it was nice to spend the time with Dai. I think that if he was never forced to interact with Amanda, I don't think he would have started to get better. Of course there were times when I was really concerned for his safety but we will chalk that up to being a typical male that is headstrong and likes to wallow in self pity. Work for you? Great.
There was one part of the book when Dai and Amanda are dancing that I just loved. You can tell that even though Dai has a dark and stormy past that haunts him every second of every day and night, he has a such a tender heart towards people he cares about. This itself is a blessing after spending 2,000 years fighting the urge to fully give himself over to the goblins. Now I do have a small complaint. After all we went through with these two, the ending could have been drawn out between our love interests. Come on! I want more of Dai's hottness! Lol! In all seriousness though, it was a great book. I do suggest reading The Goblin King though because there were some things that were mentioned or came up that I wasn't to sure about.(less)

It was different from any other book I have read.
Anya has spent her life not knowing that she can't see and is invisible to men. She knows something is amiss when there is the ugliest woman she has ever seen there to escort her to the legendary Palance, a city she has only dreamed of visiting. In the middle of everything, Anya can't help be feel confused about the strange feelings she is having towards her Amazon protector.
Having a spell put on him so he would be able to help the lovely Anya, Kylor instantly feeling the stirrings of sexual awareness towards the sexy woman he is vowed to protect with his life. Into their journey, Kylor realizes there is more to Anya then meets the eye which makes her damn near irresistible.
Chris makes you stand up and take notice of these fantastic characters. Not only does she have you glued to the pages, she makes you light on fire from the passion Anya and Kylor share. Where can I find me one of those hunky protectors? Can't say I blame Anya for falling for Kylor. He is every woman's dream!
On a side note, I just want to say I absolutely loved the cover. Usually my faves are the ones with half naked men but this one is the bees knees! :)(less)

Serah may think she is just a simple human but her friends and Matthias know better. In order for her to stay safe, she must embrace who she really is inside. She just has to believe.
Honest truth...I imagined I was Serah and I had Matthias all to myself. :) He was so desirable (brooding personality and all) I could just eat him up! I think the thing I loved the most about this story was that Matthias already knew he loved Serah and was afraid to be around her. He wanted to do anything but be around her. Between the temptation and his guilt for betraying Serah, he wasn't sure he would be able to protect her. And of course we got to see that he was able to take the love he had for her and pull through. I love alpha males that take charge and get things done. *sigh*
All in all, this was a great book. I am now a new stalker fan of Sidney Ayers. I can't wait to read more. I am positive they will be just as entrancing as this one.(less)

When Candice emailed me about the review, I just thought the book sounded like something right up my alley; paranormal romance with some suspense/action elements. And I have to say Candice, you were absolutely right when you said this book was for me!
I was bad and put off reading it until yesterday morning. Whoops. I woke up at what I thought was 4ish in the morning, but was really 3ish because of daylight savings time, and couldn’t go back to sleep. My mind started nagging me about how I needed to read the book. My next thought was, “Man I hope it doesn’t suck. Those take forever to read and I don’t have the time.” So I wander out to the couch as not to disturb the sleeping bear making the call of his species in the bed next to me. I am pretty sure I read for a straight 4 hours before my little monster decided he wanted to get up. I was zooming through this book at the speed of light because thankfully, this book rocks!
We have a new concept of using daemons for humans bidding. So if they want to enact a revenge on someone, a certain person from an elite group called a Summoner, would use their knowledge to bind the daemon to them for the task. They would then give the daemon a “payment” of some sort (which quite frankly can be gross!) When the binding is completed, the Summoner has daemon ink that pops up on their skin. If the binding is botched at all, the worst that can happen happens with the Summoner’s death. So keep in mind that little tidbit and then let me tell you what fuels Meri’s everyday goals. She is on a personal mission of revenge for her parents’ death after they were killed by a bad binding when she was 15 years old. It doesn’t matter how many daemons she summons, she can’t for the life of her find out who the culprit is. And she is running out of available skin for her daemon ink. No one has ever lived long enough to find out what happens when you run out of space on your skin. Well a series of events happens involving a group of daemons, and one specifically that captures and keeps her attention, that enables her to have her parents’ killer in the palm of her hand. And boy, the other stuff that goes on throughout this whole time is just too juicy to divulge. I will say though, a certain daemon named Azimuth makes me change my perception of what a daemon is in the book. And he’s damn sexy!
I am so happy that I had the opportunity to be able to sink my teeth into this new series and author. It was more than I expected and all the elements makes the storyline come together beautifully to create a captivating world. I do however have one complaint…I want to read the next in the series now! Lol. (less)
