Winne has been having problems with her boyfriend Lars, and shes also sending off her older sister to college. My favorite quote from the book would have to be "I know you're only in eighth grade, but next year you'll be a freshman. And after that pff" She sliced her hand through the air "It goes quick Winnie, enjoy it, gobble it up- but when its time for you to go? Go" This quote from her sister Sandra, but I relate to it. Right now I'm in eighth grade and I think she's right, I should just enjoy my time next year, and it'll be over quickly. I really enjoyed how Lauren Myracle wrote this book from Winnie's perspective. It was really nice and it was really hard to put down. I reccomend this book to any teen girl, whose really into the story about friendships, relationships, and realistic things like that. ...more

He's also attracted the attention of the school's Queen Bee, Bethany Millbury. My favorite quote from the book would have to be "Everybody told me to be a man, nobody told me how." Its like everyone around him told him to grow up but his dad is obviously out of the picture, so he had no one. I like how Laurie Halse Anderson wrote from first person perspective. She also wrote it from a boy's perspective, so it was fun to be inside a guys mind and see his view on life. I would reccomend this book to any teen, who loves reading books like this....more

After a gang kills Teddy's little sister TI had a friend that originally read this book and he seemed so into the book that I decided to read it too. After a gang kills Teddy's little sister Tina in a drive by shooting, he plots revenge for the gang members that killed her. My favorite quote from the book would have to be "RP,RT. That's how Tina's death was known around the 'hood." Basically RP, RT stands for wrong place, wrong time. The whole story is based off of this point, like for example Tina an innocent girl was at the wrong place, and wrong time when she was shot. The author wrote the story from third person point of view which was nice because he wrote the story very detailed, it set up the story perfectly which I really liked. I would reccomend this book to everyone who likes to read about real life events with fictatious characters. I would just warn them about the language used in this book....more

In this story Dumbeldore found Harry Potter in front of the mirror Erised. He also told Harry that this mirror makes people go crazy sometimes, to me the quote means that we shouldn't keep dwelling on the past. We should just move on from it, and have a whole new life. J.K. Rowling writes all of her books from third person view, she uses a unique detailed way of describing the characters which I love. Her books are more detailed than the movies that are made from them. I would reccommend this book to anyone who likes a little adventure, and loves fantasies like these. ...more

He's the one that got me interested in this story, so when I decided to read it I couldn't put the book down. Nick and Allie die in a car crash, but instead of going straight to heaven they go somewhere inbetween heaven and the real world; Everlost. Allie also begins to learn the art of haunting, and she also ventures into the dangerous territory of the McGill. My favortie quote from the story would have to be: " There was a point of light at the end of the tunnel, getting larger and brighter as she got closer, and there came a feeling in her heart of calm amazement she could not describe, But on the way too the light, she hit something that sent her flying off course." This was when Allie was on her "course" to heaven, she bumped into Nick and that sent them both away from the light, and somewhere inbetween which was Everlost. I like the how the author wrote in third person perspective, that way we can see what the other characters are thinking not just one particular character. I would reccommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal, and fantasy stories....more

She and her mom used to suffer with obesity, but when her mom the famous Kiki Sparks sends her off to her aunt's for the summer, she confronts her old childhood bully, and she changes her whole appearance, new hair, new makeup. I really liked this book out of all the others that I have read by this author."What you were that night at the beach was just you, Colie. You believed you were beautiful and so did the rest of the world." What I liked about this quote is that Isabelle, Colie's new friend is trying to get Colie to see that she doesnt need any makeup to be beautiful. She just needs to be herself and she needs to know that she's beautiful. I also really like how Sarah Dessen put this story in first person point of view. While reading this book it was like I put myself into Colie's shoes. When she talked about getting made fun of at her middle school dance, I imagined like I was there, and I was the one getting made fun of. I reccomend this book to any teenage girl, who like me sometimes feel insecure. I would also reccomend this to people who like a little drama while reading....more

Someone has murdered Henry the Hippo who is the mascot of the zoo Fun Jungle. Teddy feels that something’s up, so he decides to investigate the situation. My favorite quote would have to be: “Everyday, dozens of animals got sick; maybe even one or two would die. But for Henry to go belly-up…… that was pretty much a worst case scenario, given that he was the park mascot.” This was when Teddy saw Henry dead in his pool. He knew that this would be a problem since Henry was in every advertisement about the zoo. He was a trademark, the only animal people were eager to see and now he was dead. This story was told in first person point of view. It was narrated by Teddy himself. I actually liked it because it was actually like I could take him place and imagine what was happening right then and there. I would recommend this book to people who of course love animals and to people who love a good mystery....more

I thought that since I loved the series so much then I might like this book too. There are various plots in this book because there are various short stories. My favorite story in the book would have to be the “The Tale of Three Brothers”. The three brothers reached a river to deep to walk across, and to dangerous to swim through. They were so well trained that Death himself was so furious, so as a trick to congratulate them for avoiding death he said they could ask for anything they wanted and of course the eldest asked for a powerful wand. The second brother asked for a stone to bring back the dead, and the third brother asked for an invisibility cloak. My favorite quote would have to be: “And then he greeted death as an old friend, and went with him gladly, and, equals, they departed this life.” This quote was about the youngest and smartest brother. Who chose to hide from Death under his invisibility cloak. It was only after years of searching that the youngest brother decided to give his Cloak of Invisibility over to his son. The author wrote from a third person view perspective. Which means that she was telling the story from her point of view and from what she heard, but if were to be in first person perspective then the story would have dialogue and would also be told from Death’s perspective. I would recommend this book to those major Harry Potter fans like myself, or people who enjoy fantasy books....more

It starts on Christmas Eve, when Theresa's father is brought home.....dead.Theresa is convinced to find her father's missing, prized possesion, his violin, but the only way to do that is to enter his music world, and reveal the missing pieces to the puzzle. My favorite quote would be: "Mirela took the medallion in her hand and gazed at it as if she were trying to read the future in her palm. It is a curious thing, she murmured at last,to touch history. Looking into the past is very much like seeing the ages to come." I found this quote on page 193 of the book, and I specifically liked it because it gave a little bit more history on the medallion and who it previously belonged to. The author wrote this book from Theresa's perspective, so in this case it would be a first-person point of view. I would recommend this book to people who love mysteries, romances, and adventures. This book has it all, when I first got it I literally couldn't put it down. ...more

Instead of throwing him out like most people would she brings him coffee, pastries, and a bag of chocolate covered coffee beans. She never expected to find out that Malcolm (the homeless in the alley) is an angel. Just because of her true act of friendliness and gratitude Malcolm decides to reward Katrina for what she has done.
