Ash is an interesting book to read but I had some issues with it. The concept of ASH might sound unique but it doesn’t bring anything new because overall it was a typical vampire novel and some aspects of this books is similar to other vampire YA books. Being an avid reader of vampire fiction, I always keep a watchout for good vampire books that promises kickass action and romance. The badass cover of ASH is the first thing that caught my eye and the synopsis has intrigued me enough to read it. Sadly, this book didn’t lived up to my expectations but I think it’s pretty ok read and some readers might love it but it was too cliched for me to love it.
Charlie Bennet lives in a world where supernatural creatures like Vampires and Ash exists. Ash are the offspring of human women and male vampires who looks enchantingly beautiful. All the female population adore the beauty of Ash male but Charlie just thinks they are freaks of nature and totally resents them. Charlie doesn’t want anything to do them but suddenly she observes some changes in her body that looks similar to ASH symptoms and it turns out that she is actually an ASH, the very creature she hates but there’s never been a female ASH before. Being an ASH changes everything in her life because now she has to leave her college, her best friend and also her mother. All the Ash must live in a place called HIVE and being the first female ASH doesn’t give her special privileges because like all the new ASH she needs to earn her place in the HIVE by surviving in the fight to death matches called Culling. Even though she hates the ASH, she can’t help getting attracted to a tall, dark and handsome ASH named Ryder, an Ash lead enforcer who takes special interest in her and helps training her for the culling. Her life gets even more crazier when her blood test reveals many secrets that questions her identity, her best friend wants to be a vampire, and it seems there’s a bounty placed on her head.
Charlie is a tough badass girl who’s got a lots of spunk, wit and sassiness in her. I really liked her character but sometimes she acted a bit immature like a silly teenager who’s got a crush which really irked me a lot. Ryder is your typical male bad boy like Dimitri who looks gorgeous, physically strong and a total alpha male. There isn’t a insta-love but there’s definitely a insta-attraction between Ryder and Charlie when they first met. The relationship between them is kinda hot and cold which is something to do with Ryder’s dark past. Lucas is another possible love interest who is also a vampire but we didn’t get to know much about him because he doesn’t play major role in this book and he only appears in few parts of the book. I really liked Jayden, Charlie’s roommate in HIVE and also best gay boyfriend. He is my favorite character who is very friendly and I really loved his sense of humor.
The plot may not be original but it was good enough with some twists that can be easily predicted if you’re used to vampire books. All the characters are likable but they aren’t great either. The story is moved in fast pace filled with action, suspense and light romance. The whole book was written in Charlie’s POV. The writing was somewhat ok and simple enough to understand. This book was set in a modern world so it’s got both contemporary and paranormal feel to it. Despite having so many issues with this book, I enjoyed reading it.
Overall, I think it’s a good start for a new series! I hope the sequel going to be much better and thrilling. Even though it was tagged as New-Adult, I think this book is also suitable for Young Adult Readers.
Do I recommend it? Yes, I would recommend it to the readers who love reading vampire fiction and paranormal romance....more

Well, it was good to read but wasn’t that incredible. I picked this up when I was feeling bored so I didn’t had any expectations. Honestly, the book was somewhat boring and the plot didn’t excited me much. It didn’t lived up to its synopsis which sounded very intriguing. The MC’s in this book are very dull which is the biggest downer and the romance between them was quite normal and wasn’t that interesting. I didn’t enjoyed the writing but apart from that everything was ok but not the best.
Penelope Nell O’ Hara wasn’t really that much of a great protagonist and she seemed too naive and quite stupid sometimes. There’s not much depth in her character and I can’t connect with her. Theon Aena is a hot male protagonist in the plot. He is a total gentle man and talks like he was from regency era which didn’t impress me much by the way. At the beginning, he oozed a mysterious persona that made me interested in him but as the story progressed I started to lose interest in him. I hated the insta-love and the romance between Nell and Theon seemed awkward and forced sometimes.
The plot was not bad but could be much better. The story moved in a slow pace which is something I always hate in a book. The last ten percent of the book was the only part I enjoyed reading. Even though it was written by a best selling author, the writing seemed immature and I didn’t like it a bit.
Despite so many issues, I don’t hate it because I think it’s not entirely bad but needs more work. The book ended with a interesting twist and I might read the sequel just to find out what’s going to happen next. Finally, I’m not sure If I could recommend it but if you are into paranormal romances then give this a try....more
Dark Ones is the second book that I’ve read from the author Rachel Van Dyken and once again I’m amazedSame Review Also Posted Here: Dreamy Addictions
Dark Ones is the second book that I’ve read from the author Rachel Van Dyken and once again I’m amazed by her work. She is famous for her contemporary romances and it was a delight to read her first new paranormal romance novel. Vampire fiction is one of my favorite genre so after reading that intriguing synopsis I’ve decided that I had to check it out. In this, we have hot tempting paranormal beings like vampires, werewolves, sirens and angels. I immensely enjoyed all the characters and also the romance. The author did really well even though it was her first paranormal romance.
Since young, Genesis was told that she was nothing and ugly and when her number was called she has to serve the immortals in assisting them in understanding the modern technology but she didn’t know that she’s been lied to her whole life. Actually, she was chosen as the mate for the Dark Ones named Cassius, a half human and a half angel who is considered as the king of immortals but surprisingly she was saved by a vampire named Ethan who is one of the elders. From then on, her fate completely changes because she’s marked by not one but two immortal beings. Now she is on the run from a dark one who would do anything to get her back and she never dreamt that she would live with a vampire, a werewolf and a siren.
Basically, I hate damsel in distress characters but in the case of Genesis I didn’t felt that way. At the beginning, she was naive and innocent because she was raised believing that she was ugly and nothing. It was great thing to see her grow into a strong woman as the story progresses. Ethan is totally captivating and tempting vampire who marks Genesis. He tries hard to deny his attraction towards Genesis but he couldn’t able to resist longer. The chemistry between them is melting hot and what they feel for each other is intense and strong. I really enjoyed the romance between them. Cassius is shown as the bad guy but still there’s something dark, mysterious and captivating about him that you wouldn’t feel the hate for him. The character Mason who is actually a vegetarian werewolf is really a funny interesting guy who likes eating berries and I enjoyed the humor he brought to the story. Alex, a siren also known as manwhore is another likable character who provided a great comic relief besides Mason and I’ll definitely look forward to read both of their stories.
The plot was quite good and there are some twists at the end where some secrets are revealed. As for the characters, they all are well built and I pretty much liked them. There’s not much world building in it and It would’ve been great if the author provided more background story. Miss Rachel has a great writing style and I always enjoy it. The story moved in a fast pace and it was engaging till the end. Though it was entertaining read, there are still some flaws in it which can be overlooked.
Overall, I really liked it and it’s been a long time since I’ve read a NA paranormal romance so I had great time reading it. The next book is going to be about Cassius and I can’t wait to read it too. The Dark Ones is a captivating and addictive read and highly recommended to all the paranormal romance book lovers. ...more

It’s been a long time since I’ve read a vampire fiction novel and when this book caught my eye I want to give this a try because it sounded pretty much kickass. Well, It was good to read but wasn’t exciting enough for me to love it. I’ve read my fair share of vampire slayer novels and there’s nothing new in it but it was really entertaining to read.
Edie comes from a famous vampire slayers family named “The Harkers”. On her way to her home, Edie and her sister were attacked by a group of vampires. A Vampire kills her sister and then attacks Edie, leaving her infected with the virus that will eventually kill her after some time. To protect her niece and to avenge her sister’s murder, Edie sets out to find the vampire who killed her sister with the help of hot amnesiac vampire named Jude. During her search for her sister’s killer, Edie finds out that there might be a cure for the infection spreading inside her and she needs to find it before her time runs out.
Edie is pretty much likable character but she wasn’t as kickass as I expected her to be. She is quite loyal and protective of her family especially her niece which is what I liked most about her. She was kinda brooding character who wallows in her pain and emotionally closed off. She is attracted to Jude but because of her inevitable death and her thirst for revenge, she always acts cold towards him. Jude is quite cocky and arrogant vampire who has an interest in Edie. I really liked his fun personality and I’m glad he isn’t dark and moody like other vampires. There’s nothing interesting about their romantic relationship and it isn’t the major element of the plot. I really liked the character named Carl who is actually Edie’s cousin. He is a comical relief who brought some humor to the plot.
The plot is underwhelming and the pacing is quite slow at many parts that made me skip few pages. The writing was perfectly ok and easy to understand. The book was written in alternative POV which is something I always like in a book. As for the characters, apart from Edie I couldn’t connect to any of the characters which is probably the reason why I didn’t enjoy it much.
All in all it was good but it just didn’t worked out for me. The book ended with a cliffhanger and I don’t think I would continue with this series. It is a good mix of action, drama and light romance and if you like reading vampire slayer novels then definitely give this a try but don’t expect too much....more

I love reading Vampire fiction novels and when I came across this book, the synopsis sounded very interesting so I wanted to give it a shot. Honestly, I liked it but It wasn’t amazing enough for me to love it. While reading this book, it reminded me a lot of Twilight and I wasn’t aware that it was a fanfiction novel. So, later I wasn’t surprised to find that Creature of Habit used to be a Twilight Fanfiction novel. Though it is a fanfiction, it’s got a good storyline and have great potential but needs more work. There’s no explicit scenes in this book so I think young adults can also read this book.
Amelia is a fresh college graduate who is desperately looking for a job and when someone offers her to be a personal assistant to the famous Grant Palmer, she immediately accepts it without aware of him being a vampire. At the first day, she notices that her new boss has a serious case of OCD because he likes to keep his cloths and everything in an organized order. When she first meets him, she feels a dark vibe from him and thinks he is some kind of weird person and also a rude jerk who is very poor in socializing. Grant is a 150 year old vampire who patrols at nights like a vigilante to protect the residents of Ashville from rogue vampires. When Grant first smells the irresistible scent of Amelia he tries very hard to control his thirst but he didn’t know himself that what he feels for her is more than a blood thirst. A relationship between a vampire and a human is forbidden but Grant can’t deny the attraction he feels towards Amelia. Things go haywire when a rogue vampire has set his eyes on Amelia and nearly succeeded in kidnapping her.
Amelia is a bit sassy and witty character who I really liked knowing. She has brought lots of humor in this book and I really loved the way she enacted her revenge on Grant. Grant is kinda aloof character who is very private person and talks very less but later on we’ll also see his other side in which he is very protective towards his loved ones, fierce towards his enemies and very caring towards Amelia. Although Amelia and Grant want to have a professional relationship between them, they can’t ignore the draw they feel towards each other. The romance in this book is very light because it’s a slow burn romance and you’ll find most of it at the end of the book.
The plot of the book was not bad but I think it could’ve been much better. The first part of the book was engaging but the second part was the part where it started to get boring because most of the book was focused on Grant and Amelia’s growing relationship which was enjoyable at the start but later it became uninteresting when there’s nothing happening but the romantic angst between them and the end was a bit unsatisfying because I expected more action. As for the characterization, all of the characters reminded me of Twilight characters but the storyline was little bit different which was the thing that made it interesting. The plot moved in a steady pace through out the book. The writing style wasn’t creative but still it was great and I enjoyed reading it. I may or may not read the sequel to it but I hope it would be much better than this.
Overall, it was good read and I think all the twilight lovers will definitely enjoy reading it. Although this book is less action-packed, it is a perfect mix of suspense, mystery, humor, intrigue and light romance. I would definitely recommend it to all the vampire fiction lovers who love reading vampire love stories with a blend of humor and romance....more
Tiger’s Destiny is the best book out of all the books I’ve read in the series so far and I’m quite satisfiedReview Also Posted Here: Dreamy Addictions
Tiger’s Destiny is the best book out of all the books I’ve read in the series so far and I’m quite satisfied with how it turned out in the end even though it was given a partial happy ending. The Plot was truly amazing with all the action in it and it was engaging from the start till the end. This book has made me a bit emotional especially regarding the death of one of the character that I’d really liked and it’s a sad thing that he wouldn’t be in the journey for the final quest.
The book continues from where it was left off in the previous book in which Kelsey has been kidnapped by the evil sorcerer Lokesh. With the help of both Ren and Kishan, she gets rescued from Lokesh who wants to make her his wife. After the rescue mission, Kelsey and her tiger’s begins their journey for their final quest to break the curse. During their journey, tragedy strikes while fighting with the evil which emotionally breaks them from the inside but still they had to continue. They set off to find the final gift which is Rope of fire which can help you to travel through time. In this quest, we meet so many mythical creatures that we’ve never seen before. This book is full of adventure and more action-packed than previous books and I’d really wished there were few more pages left.
At last, Kelsey has finally realized who she loves the most but she’s still the same stubborn character ever. When another female gives attention to Ren she goes totally ballistic about it, I think she’s totally hypocrite I mean had she forgotten how she did the same to him by acting all lovey-dovey with Kishan in front of him even though knowing how much it’s hurting him. Now she neglects her own boyfriend and gives her total attention to Ren just because she feels that she may loose Ren forever to another girl.
Anamika is another character that I’ve come to like and she’s more likable than Kelsey and more sensible too. I wouldn’t have minded if Ren ended up with her. Poor Kishan it’s totally unfair for him and loving Kelsey has brought him nothing but heartache.
Despite the teenage angst drama, the plot was fantastic and epic. I’ve really enjoyed their adventure with Rakshasha’s, their fight with twins, their struggle with the chimera(greek mythical creature) and also their epic final battle with Lokesh. Even after the final battle with the Evil has been concluded everything hasn’t ended yet cause there’s still something important about the tiger’s fulfilling their destiny’s. Ren and Kishan has their own destiny’s to follow and it has been very heart breaking because after going through so many obstacles and struggles they had to make a ultimate sacrifice at the end which was so cruel because I really wanted everyone to have a happy ending.
All the fight and battle scenes are described so vividly that will give you clear Image of it and I’ve felt that I was actually present at the scene. This book has both happy ending and sad ending too but I’d wish there was alternate ending to it. Overall, It was awesome read and I can’t wait to read more about Kishan in the next book which is also the final book in the series. It’s become a journey for me too following this trio’s adventures and I’d really miss Ren and Kishan a lot after the series completes. Have you read this series yet? If not, I would highly recommend you to read it. :D...more
*I have received a copy of this book from the author for an honest review.*
Aqua is a refreshing take on a paranormal genre and we get to meet a new paranormal being that can live in water and on land. It’s the first book that I’ve read from the author. It’s unique concept piqued my interest and I didn’t have any expectations when I got this book. It’s got a nice plot, dynamic characters and all I can say is that I pretty much liked it but it wasn’t amazing enough for me to love it.
The story is about 17 year old girl Layla McKelland who lives with her mom and her aunt. On every year of her birthday, Layla’s family is moved from one coastal place to another coastal place without any questions. Now it’s Layla’s 17th birthday and it’s time for them to move to another new place but something exciting awaits for her in the near future which completely changes her fate. At the new place she meets two guys named Tristan and Pyke who may be not ordinary as they seem. When Layla witnesses Pyke transforming into something else she couldn’t believe her own eyes. After She was attacked in her own house by an unknown force she couldn’t take it anymore and confronts Tristan for the answers, who claims he knows more about her father and also about herself which she wasn’t aware of. Later she learns that she is actually not a human and her father is someone important which automatically makes her a target for everyone who opposes him. Now Layla has to deal with a war she wasn’t aware of and also her developing feelings for Tristan.
Layla is sassy, sarcastic, tough character who I’ve liked her better at the start but later she turned out to be more annoying than I thought which made me lose interest in her. Tristan is sweet, caring and a total gentleman who always feels protective towards Layla not just because it’s his job. Pyke is a total bad boy who always likes to get on Layla’s nerves. He may act like a bad guy but there is a goodness inside of him and that is what I like about him. As for the relationship, there isn’t any insta-attraction between Tristan and Layla instead their relationship developed slowly with friendship which I totally admire but the sad thing is I felt the lack of chemistry between them.
The plot was good but honestly I liked the first and last part of the book the most and all the training sessions with Tristan left me bored. There isn’t much world building in it which is a disappointment for me because I was looking forward to it when I picked it up. Another issue of mine is the pacing of the plot which seemed slow at most of the parts. As for the characters, they are quite good but I had trouble connecting with pyke because he is mostly AWOL in this book and I’d really like to know more about him. I liked the Author’s Writing Style, it was witty and realistic. Despite it’s flaws, Aqua is a great start for a new fantasy series.
Overall, it’s a good fantasy book for YA readers. I hope it’s sequel would be much better with better world building. Even though I had issues with some aspects of this book, It’s a unique read and definitely worth a try....more
I’m so glad that I’ve finally finished reading it cause it was pretty much long book to read and it has moreSame Review Posted Here:Dreamy Addictions
I’m so glad that I’ve finally finished reading it cause it was pretty much long book to read and it has more than 500 pages. Compared with the previous books this one is filled with more adventure, action and a frustrating love triangle. Despite the annoying triangle in it, I really liked it a lot more than the previous books. I’ve been so excited to read this because there’s going to be dragons in it which sounded intriguing. It’s really wonderful how the author come up with this amazing plot by mixing chinese and Indian mythology and turning it into her own new fictitious myth which I must agree is a bit controversial but I totally loved it.
Kelsey and her tiger’s are back again with another quest to break a 300 year old Indian Curse but this time they had to deal with five dragons. They had to visit all the five dragons which ultimately leads them to durga’s next prize but it’s not going to be easy because they had to go through so many obstacles and trials to finally obtain what they are looking for. This quest is pretty much exciting with all the underwater adventures and action in it. Out of all the dragons I’ve really liked the green dragon who dressed Ren and Kishan as prince’s and Kelsey as a princess like they are in a fairy tale adventure.
Besides facing the dragons, the trio had to deal with another issue which was like another quest for them but it isn’t related to the curse. Both Ren and Kishan are vying for Kelsey’s love and she is absolutely torn between them because now she loves both guys. The thing that frustrated me the most while reading it was kelsey’s mixed feelings for both guys. Her love for Ren is very deep but still she had no trouble kissing Kishan and she likes it too. After Ren finally remembers everything it was already too late because Kelsey finally decides to stay with Kishan which completely tears him apart. This triangle reminds me a lot of Vampire diaries where two brothers vying for the same girl.
I’d wish I could Strangle kelsey here because she is hurting both of them even though knowing who is in her heart and I really feel pity for Kishan, she uses him as some kind of back-up guy who she thinks will give her better future. I think both Ren and Kishan’s personalities has been swapped I mean Kishan has become more gentle like Ren but I’d really missed his flirty nature and boldness. As for Ren, he seemed much bolder than before and his kisses has become more hotter too. I’m really curious who she’s going to end up with, I thought it would be Ren but now I’m not sure but I hope she would make it clear in the next book because It’s really getting on my nerves and I don’t think I could handle it anymore.
The plot was amazing but I can’t say it was perfect cause there are some parts where I felt it was dragged too much and the lessons on scuba diving part seemed lengthy and a bit boring too but Wes is quite an interesting guy to know and he always likes to annoy Ren and Kishan by flirting with kelsey. The writing as always, it’s very descriptive and vivid. Actually I didn’t expected it to be a underwater adventure so it was a bit surprising for me but in a good way cause I totally loved it, there’s lots of action with the sea monsters and not to forget the giant sharks too.
Even though there are some flaws in it, it was a fantastic read for me. The ending was a big cliffhanger which I saw it coming and I’m so glad that I wouldn’t have to wait because I’m on my way to the next book. The Evil Sorcerer Lokesh has finally made his re-appearance and I’m so excited to know what’s going to happen next and there’s still one more quest left to completely break the curse so can’t wait to read it. I’m pretty much satisfied with this series so far and I highly recommend it to everyone....more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!
Wow! This book was a total surprise for me I didn’t expected I would enjoy it as much as I did. It’s the perfect package of entertainment for all the YA book lovers, I just loved everything in it. The blurb sounded so intriguing that I had to check this out and I can’t believe it’s going to be this good. After reading the first few chapters of it I was totally hooked and I’m more than satisfied with it. I think it’s a great start for a new fantasy series.
17 year old Lady Samantha is the only daughter of Duke of Haywood. Her only interest lays in sword fighting and nothing else. After her mother was killed by a Demon, her father becomes cold and closed off to everyone even his own daughter. To avenge her mother, Sam wanted to become a Paladin who kills demons, but her father wants her to get married and produce a heir to continue his lineage. To avoid this fate and in order to become a Paladin, she disguises herself as a boy to train under the elite group of warriors of Thule. Unfortunately, her mentor is none other than the famous paladin and her hero Tristan Lyons, who she had met him few years ago when she was almost killed by a demon. During her training, she is co-partnered with Braedan, a half demon who has secrets of his own. Together they become a trio and develops a bond of friendship with time and they always fight together against demons. The plot takes a interesting turn when they finally meet the rival faction who wasn’t what they thought would be.
Samantha is the strong female character who’s got so much sass, witt and courage in her. I totally loved her character in this plot. She’s the perfect kickass character you’re looking for and she wasn’t a total perfection but still strives for it. Coming to Braedan, the half demon who every other paladin trainee loathes and afraid of is totally swoon worthy guy with long white hair and garnet eyes that will definitely captivate you. Being a half demon I didn’t expected him to have a calm and gentle personality which made me like him more. As for Tristan, he is the smug character who always likes to taunt Sam but still he is a very likable character too. The author did a good job in portraying the friendship between these three. The scene at the brothel was really hilarious. I liked how the relationship between Braedan and Sam developed slowly from friendship to something more. To whoever thinking there might be a triangle in it well, rest assured there’s no triangle in this plot.
The plot was truly amazing and well-written. The story was written in Sam, Braedan and Tristan’s POV which didn’t bothered me at all instead it made easier to grasp everything. This book got all kickass-action, humor and hot romance that you wouldn’t want to put it down. It has a fast paced plot and the writing style was quite good for a debut author. There are so many twists and turns in it that would make it more engaging and interesting read. I must appreciate the author for writing this wonderful book which has great characterization, brilliant plot and good world building.
Overall, it’s a fantastic read for me! After how the book ended I think there’s a sequel to it and I do wish to see the trio in action again. With everything figured out I hope the sequel would be much more interesting and I want more of Braedan. This book has so much potential to be a hit series and needs to be read by every fantasy lovers....more

I have mixed feelings for this book because I both loved it and hated it. The sole reason for my hate for it was kelsey, who seemed so much more annoying than the previous book. The quest for breaking the 300 year old Indian curse continues with a new adventure. In this, Kishan and Kelsey journey together for the next quest where we get to know more about Kishan which I’m anticipating. Despite not liking Kelsey, I’ve really enjoyed reading it and loved all the adventure in it.
The book continues where it was left off. Even after Coming back to Oregan, Kelsey is tormented by the memories of Ren after she rejects his feelings before leaving for Oregan just because she thinks he is too good for her. To get over Ren and give herself another chance in love, she dates three guys even though her mind and heart is filled with Ren and except for Li, the other two guys she dates are total jerks. The first 30 percent of the book was focused on the normal relationship drama between Ren and Kelsey. Ren moves to Oregan just so he could prove her that his feelings for her are real and requests her that she should give him a chance too. Honestly, I think she doesn’t deserve both guys I mean how can she doubt Ren’s feelings for her when everyone can clearly see how he was head over heels in love with her.
I don’t know why miss Houck created such dimwitted and annoying character for this series. Another thing that made me hate her more was her mixed feelings for both Ren and Kishan. In Tiger’s Curse, I really adored Ren and Kelsey’s relationship but now I’m pretty much doubting her feelings for Ren because she easily succumbs to Kishan’s charm and Kisses, I wouldn’t blame her for it because he is alluring but still I’d expected her love for Ren to be strong. The triangle thing in it seemed very much twilightish you know what I mean. Kishan was introduced as Cocky, over confident and proud character but in Tiger’s quest you get to see the vulnerable side of him which made me like him more and he seemed no different than Ren. I must agree, Kishan was an appealing character in this series but I would always root for Ren. I really missed Ren in this book because he doesn’t have much part in this plot and this time it was more about Kishan and Kelsey.
Danger reaches to the Oregon and Kelsey was once again back in India but due to some circumstances (which I’m not going to reveal) She and Kishan has to travel together for their next quest. The quest in this book was both interesting and more dangerous than the previous one and I really liked the place known as Shangri-la. In this journey, Kelsey and Kishan gets more closer and Kelsey can’t deny her feelings for Kishan but she still loves Ren which I totally didn’t get it at all. It’s like history repeating where both guys once again fell for the same girl Argh!. I wouldn’t mind even if both of them didn’t end up with her.
Despite all my issues with this book, I’ve really liked it. The plot was engaging enough to continue reading it and I always enjoyed the adventures in it which was the best part I’m liking in this series and not to forget Ren and Kishan too. The end was totally shocking and unexpected too, I can’t wait to read the next in the series and I hope their next quest would be much more exciting. I highly recommend this series to everyone who are looking for a good adventurous book with a mix of romance....more

It was adventurous, romantic and fascinating tale that will take you to an adventurous ride filled with mystery. Though it was released a long time ago I’ve never gave it much attention to this series but It was all changed because of Miss Houck’s new series named Reawakened which was recently published and it sounded pretty much intriguing so I’ve decided to read the tiger saga before getting to the reawakened series. Well, I didn’t have much expectations when I started reading it and it was much better than I’ve expected but still it wasn’t the best. Another reason for me to read this book was to meet the great tigers in this series who I’ve heard so much about them in the book community.I must agree, It really was a great read and I can see all the effort put by the author which was applaud worthy and I’ve really enjoyed reading it.
Kelsey was a likable character but she wasn’t mind blowing either. Her sarcastic and caring personality was what made me like her but she was bit annoying at sometimes. I think she was very brave to pat a circus tiger’s head but in actual reality it might be a stupid thing to do but I did enjoyed reading the interacting scenes of both Kelsey and the white tiger at the circus. Dhiren mostly called as Ren in this book was a charming character and I pretty much loved knowing him. He possess attractive personality and regal behavior that will definitely sweep girls off their feet. He not only protects kelsey but also respects her too. The chemistry between Kelsey and Ren was both sweet and Electrifyingly hot. As for Kishan, he was total opposite to Ren who was bold in nature, arrogant and always flirts with kelsey just to annoy Ren. Though he may project confident persona but inside he carries a huge guilt that still tears him out from the inside. I’ve liked both Dhiren and Kishan but I couldn’t say who I’ve liked the most because they are both charming in their own way and I’m very excited to know more about Kishan in the sequel.Another character that I liked knowing was Mr. Kadam who was loyal and fatherly figure to Ren and Kishan.
The plot was really fantastic and it was truly amazing how the author linked it with the tiger’s curse and Durga’s prophecy. The Language used by Ren wasn’t modern Hindi at all, it sounded more like from the prehistoric times and a bit formal too but what do you expect from three hundred year old cursed tiger. The action in the Kishkindha was the part that I enjoyed reading the most where both Ren and Kelsey had to face some dangers in it just to get to their destination and the blood sucking water creatures named Kappas seemed a bit scary in it. The end wasn’t as I expected and it made me hate kelsey more for her stupid decision just because she suddenly realized her self low-esteem which kinda ruined the end for me. Every thing in this plot was well detailed and descriptive but there are sometimes It became annoying when unnecessary parts were also explained in detail. The writing was so vivid and descriptive that you could visually imagine everything quite easily.
Overall, It was a pleasant read and I really liked it.It was a great concept and now I know why there was so much hype about this series. I’m so glad that I’ve read this book and I hope the sequel would be more adventurous and action packed. Can’t wait to read the next in the series. I highly recommend this series to everyone who are into adventurous tale with a mix of romance....more

Crossed is the epic finale to the Soul Eaters Trilogy and it’s finally time for me to say goodbye to Meda! She has officially become one of my favorite characters and I’d really miss her Snarkiness and badassery. Crossed is really a great read with a satisfying conclusion but I expected it to be more exciting and kickass. Nonetheless, it was amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
Meda is back again to kick demons butts! The long awaited War between the Crusaders and the demons is finally here and it seems like they are loosing pretty badly. If that isn’t bad, there’s a new surprise waiting for her and also a ridiculous proposal for her that might help them win the war. Later Meda and Chi goes along with a group of crusaders for a rescue mission which goes haywire and both of them gets trapped by a horde of demons. They are totally helpless cause they are pretty much outnumbered and they couldn’t able to communicate with the others. When Chi learns that the children are still alive in the farm he refuses to abandon them. With some planning, struggle and fight they finally able to escape from the demons. After returning to their base in Mountain Park, Meda finds something’s wrong with Jo and finally learns about the sacrifice she has made. It seems like there’s only one way to win this war but it isn’t easy to achieve because they’re all gonna need to travel to hell.
Meda is the same snarky and kickass girl as ever. She’s really a strong character who never gives up and she cares so much about her friends that she’ll go to any length to keep them safe. Jo is my another favorite character in the series and I really loved her new bad girl image in this book. I’m glad to see another side of her which quite matches to Meda’s personality or rather overshadows her character. Their friendship is the next best thing I always enjoy in this series. Chi, the righteous guy with huge hero complex is another likable character in the series but my focus was always on Meda and Jo. Armand, the half demon who betrayed Meda is back again and I’ve felt bad for him after knowing how his childhood was like but still what he did was totally wrong.
The plot was pretty amazing, as always but I’ve expected more action at the end though. It has a good storyline and I really liked it. The Hell that the author has built is quite imaginative and very creative. The writing was exquisite, the vivid descriptions of the hell were captivating. Through out the book it has good plot pacing which made it an engaging read. The characters is the best thing of this series and I’m really gonna miss them especially Meda.
Overall, I really liked this book! It’s really an amazing series and I had so much fun reading it. It’s really sad that I finally have to say good bye to this series but I will look forward to the author’s next work. I think everyone should meet Meda, she’s the perfect YA female protagonist I’ve ever met because she’s really an awesome character that you can’t help but like her. If you haven’t read this series yet then I strongly advice you to read it, you’ll never regret it....more

I really enjoyed Crushed even more than the previous book Cracked. It was more action packed and I had lot of fun reading this thrilling sequel. There are lots of twists and turns in this book and not to forget Armand, the half demon who was first introduced at the end of Crushed. I’m glad to know that even after being a crusader she’s still the same badass girl. I liked all the aspects of the book. It has good storyline and I just devoured it in one sitting.
After her battle with a horde of demons, Meda is back again but now she’s officially one of them, a crusader. It seems that Meda is not only a templer but also a beacon who is destined to do great things in the future. So, the crusaders have no choice but to accept her but still they don’t trust her completely. Things get more complicated when a new group of Crusaders arrive in town. For her protection, she is confined in her own room and she feels betrayed when she learns that her best friend wasn’t against it at all. Here comes Armand, the charming half demon who offers her the freedom she was looking for. She doesn’t trust him entirely because he is a demon but she doesn’t like to be caged. She is always a free bird and she’s nobody’s pawn. So, she accepts his offer and secretly sneaks out with him cause if anybody finds out that she is hanging out with a demon, she’s going to be kicked out immediately and marked as their enemy.
The characters are the best thing in this series especially Meda, the kickass half demon girl who isn’t good but she isn’t bad either. Now she’s officially a crusader and more badass. Jo, the other kickass girl who is also best friend of Meda is another favorite character of mine. Their friendship is well executed and I really liked how it was built. Chi is another interesting character that I liked in this series but it’s sad that he didn’t have much part in this book. Armand is a beautiful half demon who always likes to flirt with Meda. She knows he is the only who can understand the darkness inside them. There’s always a tension between them but Meda knows she can’t fully trust him and they can’t be together because they are both from the opposite sides.
I really liked the Plot, it was really amazing. There are some twists and turns to make it more interesting and engaging. Compared with the previous book it was more action packed and I really enjoyed it a lot. There’s also some light romance in the book which was a minor factor in this book but it was well written. It has good plot placing and a compelling writing style. The great character development of Meda is another thing that I liked in this book. She has now friends who she truly cares about but she’s still the snarky bitch who doesn’t mind being brutal and violent.
Overall, I loved this book! It was full package of ass kicking action, friendship, and romance. There’s only one more book left to read and I’m so excited to read it cause I’m expecting a epic finale. It’s really an amazing series and I highly recommend this series to everyone who love snarky heroines....more

This book was surprisingly good and entertaining. I’ve been planning to read this series for a while and I’m so glad that I’ve finally got around to read it. Though it wasn’t a total perfection, but I really enjoyed reading it. Meda is such an awesome character you couldn’t help liking her. When I first read the blurb, I was so excited to read it cause it sounded unique and I really wanted to meet Meda. And boy, she was totally amusing and I think everyone would love knowing her.
Meda is a 17 year old half demon who’s hunger can only sated by eating the soul of a human. Unlike other demons, she only eats the souls of bad guys who totally deserves to die. She was brought up by her human mother who was killed by a demon when she was only 15 years old and she doesn’t know what she really is. After her mother’s death, she’s on her own and her memories of her mother is the only thing that keeps her sane and humanity intact. When Meda is on her hunt for the next meal, she encounters three weird men in suits who are stronger than her and she’s quite astonished to find that they are same like her but more powerful. Meda doesn’t know anything about her kind and she really wants to know everything but it looks like she won’t get any answers because they are kinda want to kill her. Surprisingly, she was saved by a crusader who’s only motive is to kill her kind and he mistakes her for a human. Even if she was failed getting the answers from the demons at least she could get them from the enemy side, the crusaders. So, she pretends to be a human and thought that she could hide her identity until she gets all her answers. Later, she not only learns about her kind but also some shocking revelations about her father’s and mother’s identity.
Meda is absolutely hilarious and snarky as hell. I totally loved her character and I really liked how the author portrayed her. She is one of the best female protagonists I’ve ever read this year. She’s quite different from the other YA female characters because she’s not really a goody-goody character instead she is selfish, Sarcastic and traitorous character who don’t mind being bloody and violent. Chi, Jo and Uri are the other supporting characters that I really enjoyed knowing. Chi(Malachi) is a proud Templar who really does have a hero complex and he easily falls for Meda’s innocent human act or rather damsel in distress act. Jo is a kickass girl who doesn’t easily fall for Meda’s act. She suspects Meda isn’t as innocent as she seems. Few years ago, Jo lost her leg during her fight with a demon and due to her disability she hates herself but it didn’t stopped her from kicking demons butt. At the beginning, Meda and Jo used to hate each other but with time Jo learns to trust Meda and slowly they develop a unique friendship. The friendship between Meda, Jo and Chi was well portrayed in the plot and I really liked it a lot. Besides the hate/love relationship between Jo and Chi, there’s no romance in this book but still it was entertaining and engaging.
The plot was quite good but you can predict how it’ll go if you are already familiar with this genre otherwise it would be completely unpredictable. The first part of the book was slow paced which is the only thing that I didn’t liked in it but the second part totally made up for it. The writing style was really good, it was witty and fun and it’s another thing that I really enjoyed in this book. All the characters are well-written and well-developed, and it’s the best part of the book. If I have to rate Meda’s Character, I would definitely give her 5 Stars.
Overall, it’s a great read. Except for the pacing of the plot, I loved everything in it. Meda is really a wonderful character and I’d really like to know more about her. So, can’t wait to read it’s sequel. I was quite confused about how to rate this book because I really liked this book and I was stuck between 3.5 and 4 but finally I chose 3.5 stars. Honestly, it was really a good book with a hilarious protagonist and I highly recommend this to everyone....more

It’s a beautiful romantic vampire love story that will definitely captivate the readers.I love reading Vampire fiction novels and the blurb looked intriguing so I definitely wanted to give it a try and I’m so glad that it far reached my expectations. It was my first book from Jill Myles and I totally loved it.I was kind of enraptured by the entire plot that I couldn’t even put it down even for a second and just completed in one sitting. It was well written and engaging from start till the end.
The Story is about a girl named Seri who belonged to Vidari faction and she looks after her sick father and blind sister. 100 years ago Vidari’s have been defeated by the rulers of Anthon and now the Vidari is ruled under Anthon in which the Vidari people are treated as slaves. Seri is so poor that she has hard time earning money for food, and she can’t even afford the medicine for her ill father. She was looking forward to be married to her sweetheart Rilen, so he might look after her and her family too.Every one in Vidari is quite surprised with the new entrance of the prince of Athon “Graeme” who was going to stay in a run down Vidari palace. One day her path crossed with Lady Mila who is actually an Athonite noble woman and she makes a deal with her being her attendant in a ball organised by the prince so she could get the attention of the prince with a wild Vidari as her attendant.Seri is in desperate need of money so she could buy medicine for her father so she agrees to the deal.At the ball when the goddess of the Athonite chooses Seri as an Eterna[eternal mate] for the prince her fate completely changes.
The character seri is a well built tough character who got so much pride, spunk and quite temper in her.She was easy to get connected to and I really liked her.She is also caring person who looks after her blind sister and ill father, and she still loves Rilen even after he user her for the sake of the uprising. Rilen started as a good character but as the plot goes further I began to hate him because he forces seri to be a spy so he could gather information inside the palace even after knowing that if caught, the only sentence would be death.Well, coming to Graeme also the prince of Athone, he is quite charming character who is arrogant and also physically strong. At start Seri and Graeme totally hated each other, but Graeme can’t change the fate written by the Athonite goddess who cursed his whole bloodline. Seri wanted to hate Graeme but she couldn’t control her attraction towards him. There is a triangle between Rilen, Seri and Graeme and I always rooted for Graeme even if he was rude to her at the start and I was quite annoyed with seri who was naive enough to love Rilen, a rebel who was blinded by the uprising and forced her to do things which seemed too risky.
This book mostly focuses on the love story between Seri and Graeme and if you are looking for an adventurous vampire tale then look somewhere else. The plot was truly compelling with amazing world building even though there isn’t much briefed because it was only a romantic tale but I hoped there is a sequel to it so I can explore this world more. The Romance in this book is scorching hot and it isn’t for the young adults so be warned and If you are comfortable with New Adult genre then I think you can definitely read this.
The Author’s writing style is creative and perfect for the plot. It’s a quick read and stand-alone novel so you definitely don’t have to worry about the sequel. The pacing of the plot is steady enough that’ll make us engaged to the whole story till the end. Finally, the book ended with HEA and I’m so glad that I’ve read this book.If you want to review this book you can request it from Net Galley.I higly recommend this book to the readers who love Paranormal romance genre with vampire fiction....more
A perfect read for the Twilight lovers and Vampire lovers. I actually didn’t know thActual Rating: 3.5 Stars Same Review Posted Here: Dreamy Addictions
A perfect read for the Twilight lovers and Vampire lovers. I actually didn’t know that it was written by a huge twilight fan, while I’m reading this I’ve observed that there were some scenarios which reminded so much of the twilight scenes and I finally understand why when I came to the end where the author mentioned that she wrote this book inspired by the Twilight. It was really a sweet and teen vampire romance and I enjoyed reading this a lot. It was a great debut from the author Temple west about a forbidden romance between a human and a vampire.
I liked how the characters developed their relationship slowly with friendship but not in a rush with a insta-attraction. Caitlin and Adrian are very much entertaining characters and you won’t get bored knowing them.I especially loved the banters between the two of them. The plot was truly captivating and it was swoon worthy. Adrian got an captivating and sweet personality, he reminded me so much of Edward<3 minus sparkling from twilight :). Well Caitlin was Caitlin she was quick witted, humorous, friendly person, sometimes gloomy and she got unique personality that you would like to know more about her.
Caitlin got a sorrowful story in which both her parents were passed away and now she was living with her Aunt, Uncle and a Cousin.I felt very sad for her whenever she cried missing both her parents. It was merely some days passed since her mother died and she didn’t want to grieve and remind herself of the fact that she was now alone and an orphan, so she distracted herself with the art. She always wanted to become a fashion designer which now seemed pretty much impossible with her current situation. Her life totally changes when she was saved by a hot guy named Adrian who lives in her neighborhood and also to her surprise he also attends the same school. Adrian maintains a mysterious persona at school and seemed unapproachable to every girls, but when he begins to pay attention to Caitlin she got puzzled with his behavior and surprisingly she was also offered a free ride from him everyday. She was curious with him being nice to her and why he acts totally different with her when compared to the others.I don’t want to reveal any more so you have to read it to find it.
Another character which I liked the most is “Trish” also the new best friend of Caitlin. At start she may seem like a blonde bimbo but you would like her more when you get to know her character better, she got an amazing personality. The chemistry between Adrian and Caitlin was really intense and teen rated.
The plot may seem cliché to some people but I really loved it a lot.It was both romantic and emotional.Miss Temple west also gave some detailed scientific information about the vampire biology. There was also a whole lot of mystery about the council which I didn’t get to know much in this and also why she was targeted by both the council and Adrian’s Demon Dad.
For a debut author Miss West writing style is perfect and easy to understand with no flaws. The characters are all well build and connected. My only issue with this book was the slight problem with the plot which seemed dragged a bit and the end seemed kinda rushed but anyway it was good. There were lots of unsolved mysteries which are yet to be revealed may be it’ll be cleared in the sequel. Finally the book ended with a cliffhanger which wasn’t that much of frustration worthy so I’m cool with it. And I highly recommended this book to all the vampire lovers who are into sweet teen vampire romance....more

I Received this ARC in exchange for an Honest Review. Firstly I’d like to thank the Netgalley and the publishers for providing me an ARC. I’m a fan of House of Night series so when I heard that there will be a new series from Kristin Cast I was totally excited. The cover and the synopsis were actually the two things that drew me in and I really hoped that I’d like it, because it was written by none other than the co-author of the House of Night Series.
I can’t say that I really enjoyed it as much as I hoped but I really liked the plot. I’m not disappointed but I think it could be much better.while reading this book I felt that I was reading some kind of fantasy thriller. I think it was missing the mystery and excitement that was found in her previous series.
The Characters Eva and Alek are both perfect and I don’t know why, but I liked Eva’s friend Bridget more than Eva.The Character Alek seemed innocent and I expected him to be more like a warrior type and rough. There was another thing that me made me felt frustrated because half of the completed but Alek and Eva still didn’t meet each other. Well coming to the multiple POV some of them may like it but I didn’t, because it made some parts in the story predictable and I like plots that brings surprises with each passing step.
It was really an interesting plot and moreover it was related to the furies from the greek mythology, most of the story takes place in the current modern world.Eva is a 23 year old college going girl who didn’t have a clue about the supernatural world. She wasn’t even aware that she was the next oracle and also the descendant of pythia. Alek son of the three furies was given a task by his mothers to protect the oracle and unite with her to awaken her powers in order to save both tartarus and the living world. With Alek and Eva united the tartarus can be restored or else all the evil souls caged in tartarus will be freed and they’ll bring total chaos to the mortal Realm.
It was funny how Alek was pretty much new to some earthly things. The first book mostly focused on the murders and their struggles with the detectives. I think it got more interesting at the last part and after that, I started to like it more. There was not much of a romance though because there was less interaction between them and I felt the feelings between these two are insufficient and it didn’t portrayed well.
The plot really got a potential and I think it could make a great series. The writing style and the characters as usual are good but I felt some slight problem in the structure of the plot. All the intense action provided at the end of the book and also the cliffhanger made it more interesting to continue this series, and I’m hoping the next installment would be much better. So, yes I’ll definitely look forward to the next in the series....more

It’s a perfect mix of paranromal and dystopia genre and also a great start for a new series. As expected Rachel’s books are famous for her Paranormal plots, and she did it again with this new kickass action series. I was so excited when I got it in my hands and I didn’t wait any further and gotten myself in it.
I really think it’s an amazing plot but I can’t say it’s perfect because there were some things that annoyed me and bored me a bit. I think the world building is well paced and the background lore is informative without being overwhelming. When I was reading this, sometimes I’ve felt deja vu feeling like I’ve seen it somewhere before in another book.
The world that the author build was really scary and cruel and I felt really bad for the girls who are living in it, because I wouldn’t want to live in this kind of world where you are heavily punished for not following strict rules placed by the church and they are also applicable even for a five year old. Even though this world is infested by degenerates( humans who are possessed by demons) I felt like I was in a Zombie infested world but anyway it was an entertaining read especially with the action parts.
The coolest thing in this plot that was kinda refreshing to the YA paranormal genre is the exorcism in it.In this world the process of exorcism is totally different because it don’t need a holy bible or a holy water and they need not have to be a priest, because in this world they are all just fakes, and they really don’t have any effect on killing demon possessed humans.
There was also a hell of description about the demons and souls and how the New Temperance works which seemed a lot to take. At start it may seem pretty much confusing with all the soul business so you need to read it further to understand it much better. The mystery and the action was what made the whole plot interesting and a beginning for a amazing new series. I can see the effort put by the author in making up this plot and she did a wonderful job.
The character Nina is really brave and very likable character because I love her strength and the goodness in her. As for Finn he was cool but he didn’t left a deep impression cause I hate guys who flirt and he was also one of the major character who possess a mysterious power. There are also secondary characters that you would like to know. When Nina learns about her sister Mellie’s situation she was completely blanked out and when her mother finds out about her, she rages in anger for a total different reason she wouldn’t even think was possible. The romance part in this book is very low cause the whole story was focused on the mystery behind the Unified church and the demons. At start the story moved in a slow pace and when Nina meets Finn for the second time the whole story takes a total turn and gets fast paced. Nina didn’t know the place she was living her whole life is a complete facade and it was controlled by a Unified Church who says that they provide safety to the citizens from the degenerates but things aren’t always what they seem.
All in all, I thought this was very well done, creative and imaginative. There was just the right amount of fuel to really make the story move, with a cast of characters to make us want so much more. The book ended with an interesting end and also revealing a new mysterious character known as “Kastor” the boogeyman. So, hell yeah! I will definitely read the next installment cause I do really want to know how it turns out, and I highly recommend this one to those who are into paranormal and dystopian books....more

I had my doubts when I picked this but after finishing the book I just loved it.
I only picked this book because the blurb sounded unique and also because of "merfolks" which is one of my favorite mythical creatures. The whole plot is centered around the place named Coney Island. It's been three years when the ocean dwelling warriors named themselves as "Alpha", came to live at the beach situated at the Coney Island which is now considered as the zone.
The main protagonist in this plot is Lyric Walker who is the resident of Coney Island and also a student in Hylan High School.Lyric is really a brave, caring and sometimes rebellious character who always loves her family and also loyal towards her friends Bex and Tito. The friendship between Bex and Lyric potrayed really well. The whole plot is unique and mysterious which was enough for me to hooked to it till the end.
The book started with the whole place in uproar when the government and the Alpha has come to a mutual understanding and decided that the Alpha children can also attend the high school alongside humans with high security provided.Six Young Alpha's have started attending Hylan High and one of them is Fathom who is also the prince of his race. There were so many protests at outside and even in high school with all the bullying.Lyric Walker is asked to lay low and not interact with the Alpha's in anyway, but trouble always finds her and she ends up being the one to spend the time with Fathom everyday.
The first half of the book is slow paced with all the high school drama, bullying etc., and the real deal starts at the second half which is fast paced and action packed. It was total entertainment all the way through.Fathom is a hard character to get to know but he was really amazing and also got an captivating personality. The forbidden chemistry between Lryic and Fathom is good but not that great. Thankfully there was no complicated triangle in it.
This is my first book that I've read from this author and I must say It was well written plot with perfection. After finishing the first book now I'm in serious need of the second installation.I'll definitely read the second book to know what's gonna happen with Lyric and Fathom, and I highly recommend this. ...more
*Phew.....* Finally it was finished, this book really did took a lot of time for me to complete gosh it was too long. The whole book felt something l *Phew.....* Finally it was finished, this book really did took a lot of time for me to complete gosh it was too long. The whole book felt something like a dark fairy tale, it was a mix of polish folk tale and fantasy which I'm kinda new to it so I dug in. The whole journey in the book gives a tremendous feeling of magical and fantasy experience. The world that the author build is really awe inspiring. To all the fantasy lovers who still didn't read it yet but still want to, then read it because
Everything in this book is fascinating and captivating. The plot is well written and the characters are well connected and perfect. The main protagonist in our story is Agnieszka who is soft hearted, clumsy, brave and extremely loyal towards her best friend Kasia. When the Dragon selects her but not her beautiful friend Kasia she gets totally baffled by his decision. For the next ten years Agnieszka has to stay in the towers and serve the Dragon who is the only resident in it.The thing about staying in the tower for ten years and restricted for going outside or meet anyone reminded me a lot of Rapunzel's tale but it's totally different from it.
Well coming to Dragon he is a neat freak who keeps to himself doesn't keep any servants in his tower because of some kind of trust issues and also doesn't talk much except for scolding Agnieszka with her clumsiness and also, for her not able to make herself look clean even for 1 minute because you'll always find some kind of dirt or mud on her gown.On the first day she arrived to the tower he acted like a total jerk towards her. I've really enjoyed the banters between Agnieszka and Dragon and loved the way she stood up to him it was really hilarious. The chemistry between them felt a little bit awkward to me because I felt there was some lack of feelings from Dragon's side. The plot is more focused on the story and less on the romantic relationship between these two but still it was a good read.
Agnieszka and Dragon make a good tag team in spell casting and summoning. The main focus of the story is about the oncoming danger from the woods. People who accidentally get into woods or dragged into it, either they wouldn't come back or may come back corrupted by the woods darkness that fills their minds with murderous intentions. When her best friend Kasia gets kidnapped by these woods she goes alone to rescue her before it's too late. When prince Marek hears about this, he orders Dragon and Agnieszka to help him rescue his mother also the queen who was been captive in the woods for the last 20 years. There are lots of twists and turns and suspense in it that you wouldn't want to leave it unfinished, but let me remind you this book is somewhat lengthy and I have skipped some pages to get to the final battle.
Overall it is a fascinating tale with lots of magic, spells, potions, wood monsters, kickass action, lots of violence etc., that would make readers spell bound to it till the end.The best thing about this book is it's magical fairy tale feel to it mixed with creepiness and scariness.I'd highly recommend this book to everyone who likes fantasy and dark fairy tales. Ok now I'm done *sigh* my eyes are feeling sleepy and tired. ...more

It took me some time to finish this book because the story started with a good start but there was only very few exciting parts, the story is really slow paced and there was hell of a journey that took hell of a time and it pretty much made me think when are they gonna reach the destination. The story is explained in a multiple pov’s which made the better understanding of the story in both worlds but it didn’t made me that much excited because of too much lack of action but it doesn’t lack in adventure and it is the only thing that made me want to continue.
Rowan Greenwood is a young woman who belongs to Darmid always has a fascination towards magical creatures and liked reading fairy tales which is considered forbidden in their country. One day Rowan finds a wounded eagle and saves it from the Darmid hunters. While looking after the wounds of the mysterious bird Rowan accidentally heals the bird which is considered a powerful magic. Aren who belongs to Tyrea is ordered by his brother severn (who is also a king to Tyrea and evil villain in the story) to bring him a Sorcerer. Aren who is feared by most and also considered to be enemy to Darmid people comes to Darmid in search of a new sorcerer who are becoming extinct due to the killings by the Darmid Hunters who hunt anyone having magic in their veins. When Aren and Rowen paths cross, their life won’t be the same where many questions arises, and they journey together for seeking the answers.During the journey Rowan feels that her dream had finally came true and enjoys the world of magic and slowly begins to get attracted towards her enemy.
It was really a high fantasy read with all the magic, dragons, fairies, mermaids, evil villain and not to forget a prince.I would’ve liked it more if there was more action between Severn and Aren or Rowan which would’ve made it more exciting but nevertheless it was a good fantasy read.It was really a compelling story with a fascinating world that would make you go crazy....more

I picked it up only because of the cover and also because the blurb mentioned that it has a hot and sexy rock star fae in it. I like fantasy books containing fae and of course this one stands out with its beautiful cover so obviously there’s no happening of me not reading it.Although it isn’t perfect but it was an entertaining read with a unique plot.
The story takes place on the modern day London where fae gets to live among the humans. Humans were forbidden to touching them because if a human touches a fae then their life force known as draiocht would be sucked out from them and they also might bespelled by them which ultimately turns them into slaves. To prevent the enslavement of the humans, the Fae Authorities FA and the government has placed three laws called Trinity Laws which must be obeyed by every human they are
“Look, but don’t touch. Touch but don’t feel. Feel, but don’t love.”

She is a well crafted character that I liked to know, and we can see her develop as the plot moves further. She’s an ex-reporter who recently got fired from her job. She didn’t believed her eyes when her paths crosses with “Sovereign” the number one hot superstar fae in London. She sees him in a vulnerable state at the empty train station, and he seems to be hurt which is a surprise cause Fae are far more stronger than humans. Not only meeting Reign isn’t a total surprise in her life, she broke trinity’s first law by touching him. After meeting Reign, her life wasn’t the same anymore, weird things starts to happen around her and she demands Reign for the answers, and she’s astonished after finding out that there are so many secrets that the fae are hiding.
The Character Sovereign is a sexy hot singer who oozes with captivating charisma, and he likes to flirt with Alina which both annoys her and also makes her hot. I think the author portrayed his character perfectly well. Reign is always protective towards Alina and he also has some deep secrets that Alina wasn’t aware of. The fae magnetic attraction and chemistry between them is quite steamy, but there isn’t any explicit scenes in it and I definitely think it can also be suitable for Young Adults because I’ve seen more hotter scenes than this in J.Lynn’s YA novels.
I liked how the author wielded the story but one thing I don’t get it is was the queen and her creepy spiders because I’ve expected something different. The Fae in this plot doesn’t have any wings yeah you heard me right no wings which is somewhat disappointing but they do got sexy color changing eyes, pointy ears, beautiful face and super powers. There was also mentioning of the faerie realm and the reason about how did they got into London in the first place. There are also some twist and turns in this that you don’t see it coming.
Overall Nice story building and good writing skills.I’m really impressed with her imagination, her descriptive power, and her ability to create truly engaging characters but I felt something lacking in the supportive characters. The best thing I liked in this book is the kickass action which is very exciting and also the thrilling finale scene at the concert. I don’t know whether it is a stand-alone or not, but the way it was ended I think it may have a sequel which I might read it if it is published. So, I’ll definitely recommended it to readers who like Fae genre. ...more
