An epic conclusion to the trilogy! It was even more exciting, suspenseful, action packed and thrilling than it's previous installments and I absolutely loved it. Dark Sky is a unique dystopian series that I've been enjoying so far and I feel a bit sad to finally say goodbye to it. I loved every aspect of this book especially the characters, setting, action, and the amazing plot. Though I loved every book in the trilogy, I think the final book is the best of them and it's definitely my favorite. I wish more people have read this trilogy because it was really a great dystopian series filled with interesting aspects such as steampunk, sky pirates, blood drinking hellions and kickass protagonists.
Claire Abernathy sacrificed her freedom to save her sister from Vesper's hold. Now she's currently in the hellnore, a place where the blood drinking hellions originally came from. She reluctantly works for the king of hellnore aka Vesper to create another palisade, a machine which is used to open the rift between hellnore and the human world. While enduring Davin's physical torment, Claire comes up with a plan to fail their plans of invading their whole world. Sawyer Kendrick is desperate to save Claire from the hellions but first he needs to embrace his family’s atrocious past and become a fearless leader. At the end, together with his marauder's crew and an unlikely new allies, Sawyer marches towards hellnore for a final epic battle to save their loved ones.
Claire is a great female protagonist. With each installment, she's becoming even more stronger and mature. She never gives up hope even if the odds are against her and will not hesitant to sacrifice her life to save her loved ones. From the start, I always admired her protectiveness towards her little sister. I liked Sawyer in this book. He's become so much different from the previous books and I liked the new change in him who is strong and confident. I'm glad he has finally admitted his feelings towards claire and now he's desperate to save her. I also liked the romance between them even if it was short. As for the other characters, I hated Riley for his betrayal in the previous book but after reading this book, I felt very sad for him and I don't hate him anymore. Davin is pretty much hateful guy who took great pleasure in tormenting Claire. He is quiet sadistic and wicked monster. Vesper aka the hellion king is one hell of a scary guy that totally creeped me out. Besides Nash and Gemma there are also some surprising new characters introduced in this book and I don't want to spoil this anymore so you'll need to read this book if you want to find out.
The plot is absolutely fantastic! It was engaging from the start and the second half is definitely mind blowing with all the twists and the action. Seriously, It was exciting and thrilling through out and I never want this to end. The pacing was perfect and I also liked the writing style. I loved the dual POV of the book which made the story even more exciting to read. The world building is simply awesome! I enjoyed the world of hellnore, I was actually looking forward to it because I was curious from the start about where these guys popped up from and damn that place really looked like hell no wonder those guys want to invade earth.
Overall, I loved it! I enjoyed every minute of this book especially the ending part and now I'm feeling pretty much sad that it finally came to an end. I'm really gonna miss Claire, Sawyer and the team. Anyway, It's been a great journey and I'm so glad that I read this trilogy. I highly recommend this trilogy to everyone who are looking for an action packed dystopian series with a dash of romance....more

I was quite conflicted on how to rate this book. I loved Elise Kova’s Air Awaken’s series and I was really excited to read this new series from her. After finishing this book, I felt it wasn’t as amazing as Air Awakens but it doesn’t mean it was bad either because I enjoyed reading it. Honestly, It’s a great fantasy read with a mix of sci-fi steampunk elements but I had struggled a bit in understanding the beautiful world the author has created and what’s really going on. The main characters are interesting but I wasn’t able to connect emotionally with them as much as I did with Vhalla and Aldrik from Air Awakens series. Nonetheless, I think it’s a great start for a new series and many fantasy lovers would absolutely love it.
After losing everyone she loves from the Dragon King, Arianna hates dragons and takes great pleasure in killing them. She’s a chimera and also the most notorious criminal in loom, the White Wraith. She’s a engineer turned thief who uses her magical talents on deadly heists and takes any jobs that defies her dragon oppressors. Cvareh is a dragon from Nova who is against the dragon king’s ruling and wants to dethrone him and put his sister on the throne but Cvareh first needs to escape from the dragon assassins who are on his tail. When Cvareh meets Ari, he knew she’s the only one who can help him reach his goal and so he makes a deal with her. Ari should’ve killed the dragon when she got the chance but when he makes a irresistible offer that she can’t refuse, she agrees to help him.
I liked Ari! She’s a strong character who is intelligent and total badass. Her real identity is a mystery from the start but as the story progresses it was easy to figure out. Cvareh is a bit hard to connect but I liked him as well. For a dragon, I expected him to be a strong arrogant alpha male but he proved me wrong. Florence is a adorable character. She’s Ari’s young assistant who helps making amazing magical revolvers that blows things up. I quiet enjoyed the sisterly friendship between Ari and Florrence. The romance between Cvareh and Ari is definitely a slow burn. Though I loved their relationship, I wish there was more intimate scenes between them and I’d really want to how their relationship develops further. The supporting characters are okay and the villain is pretty interesting too and I’d like to know more about him as well.
The plot is interesting and unique. It was hard to get into it but once you’re in, you’re totally hooked. This series is a bit violent with lots of gore and gruesome killings and I loved it.The story started a bit slow for me but the pace eventually picks up when Ari meets Cvareh. There are also lots of twists in the second half which definitely made the story even more interesting to read. The story was told in multiple POV which helped me a lot to put everything together and I also enjoyed the beautiful writing style. Though the world is a bit confusing to understand at first, it definitely is the best thing I loved in this book. The world of Loom is a great mix of steampunk, magic and paranormal creatures like dragons fenhri and chimera. It’s quite a fascinating world that I immensely enjoyed and I’ll definitely look forward to explore the world of nova in the next book.
Overall, I loved it but not as much as I expected. Though it was young adult read, I’m glad the main characters are a bit older. The book concluded with a minor cliffhanger and there are still some mysteries that are left unsolved. I really hope the next book going to be even more better and I can’t wait to know what happens next.

This was my second book from Amy Braun and once again I’m impressed with her creative skills. The combination of vampires and pirates in a dystopian world is really a unique mix and I immensely enjoyed it. Basically, I love dystopian reads especially the ones that has unique combination so I couldn’t help myself picking this up. Claire is really a tough character that I liked and her love for her little sister is quite admirable. The monsters in this book called Hellions are kinda like blood sucking vampires but they aren’t like those handsome sparkly vampires that you can fall in love with instead they are freaky, terrifying and dangerous.
The story takes place after ten years when the city of Westraven is destroyed by the blood thirsty monsters named Hellions who feeds on human blood. To keep themselves safe from the hellions, Humans are bound to the underground tunnels and has build colonies. Claire Abernathy is a young teenager who lives in tunnels along with her little sister. She is engineer who works under violent tyrant who loves physical abuse more than anything. One day, when she and her sister are at the ruins of the city, her sister gets kidnapped by the hellions. And then she was found by the dangerous sky pirates known as marauders. Claire will do anything to save her sister from the hellions, so she strikes a deal with the intimidating pirate named Sawyer that she would help repair their air ship in exchange for their help in saving her sister. In her journey to save her sister’s life, many secrets are revealed that totally shakes her world.
I really liked Claire in this story. Even though sometimes I found her a bit annoying, I really liked her attitude, courage and stubbornness. Claire is a vulnerable character but when it comes to saving her sister, she’s one hell of a fiesty bitch. Sawyer is not bad but he didn’t impressed me yet so I really hope it’s gonna change in the next book. I really enjoyed Claire and Sawyer together and I know the romance wasn’t the main aspect of this book but I wish there was more Sawyer and Claire together in it. The supporting characters Gemma and Nash are nice additions to the plot. I also liked the relationship between Claire and her sister Abby, it was sweet and admirable. Finally, not to forget Riley, the new possible love interest that I’m really curious about and I’ll definitely look forward to know more about him.
The plot is amazing and engaging. The story is a bit slow at start but it gets quite interesting when Abby gets kidnapped by the hellions. The pacing is also quite good and the action is definitely entertaining. I liked the writing and the world building is just amazing. It’s really a unique combination of vampires, pirates, dystopia and a bit of steampunk that I haven’t read before and I’m so glad that I gave this a try.
Overall, it was amazing! It’s really a great start for a new series and I can’t wait to read the sequel Midnight Sky.
Crimson sky is the first installment in YA action packed sci-fi/dystopian series titled Dark Sky and I highly recommend it....more
The Beast is a unique retelling of Beauty And The Beast fairytale which is one of mActual Rating: 3.5 stars Review Also Posted Here: Dreamy Addictions
The Beast is a unique retelling of Beauty And The Beast fairytale which is one of my favorite fairy tales. When I first read the synopsis I knew I had to read it because I’m sucker for the B&B’s retellings. At this point, I’ve read a fair number of Beauty and the Beast retellings. Some were good and some were not. The Beast falls in the good category and I really liked it but still it wasn’t perfect because I really think the author could’ve done so much better. Nonetheless, it was a good start for a new fantasy series but needs more work.
Belle LeClair is a kickass character and also a hunter who kills hell hounds with her group to protect their village. Her father is the founder of the Hunter Organization and they work under the catholic Church. During a journey, her father goes missing when he and his group were attacked by large pack of hounds. When Belle hears the word of it, she immediately sets out her own journey to find her father and she is quite astonished to find a castle in the middle of nowhere. Later, she comes to learn about a cursed prince who is living in that castle and also the true nature of the curse, and how it all actually started in the first place.
I liked all the characters in the plot. Belle is a strong character who is sassy and quite rebellious in nature. She is the only female hunter and she isn’t ashamed of what everyone thinks about her and that’s what I like most about her. I’m really surprised to find Gastone as the friendly nice guy because he was totally different than the original Gastone who is cocky and arrogant. Alexander, our very own beast in the story is another character that I’ve liked to know but there isn’t much depth in his character and I wasn’t able to connect with him. He was a total gentleman and regal, and he always respects Belle even though she’s a hunter. I adore the relationship between Belle and Alexander, I really liked how their relationship slowly developed with every interaction but I felt the romance lacking in their relationship.
The plot is very unique especially with the mix of Norse Mythology and Steampunk, and the story takes place in 18th century of France. The Author has creatively done this retelling by adding different elements to the plot and it’s really a great concept. The plot was slow paced at the beginning but things got interesting after Belle enters the castle and finally meets the cursed prince. The writing was good for a debut author but still there are some grammatical errors which can be overlooked. Although the concept is very unique with so many changes, it stayed true to the original tale which is the best thing about this book.
Despite it’s flaws, it’s an entertaining read with great storyline. The best aspects of the story was the Norse Mythology and the characters. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book! Though it has somewhat happy ending but there are still some unanswered questions and mysteries which needs to be revealed. So, yes I would definitely read it’s sequel. Do I recommend this book? Yes, I highly recommend this book to all the readers who love reading fairy tale retellings....more
