Nevertheless, I still found this book irratating in places.
Firstly, I must say that Nora did get quite annoying in this book. It was extremely frustrating that she broke up with Patch just because he didn't say he loved her and she had told him she did. Nora then went on through the whole book saying how sad she was that they had broken up and then saying she hated him five minutes later. To be honest I think she has some serious Issuses. Also, Wth is up with her breaking into other peoples houses and stealing stuff? It is completely unbelievable that someone would just break in and steal other peoples stuff. I thought that she was supposed to be a good girl who only cared about studying? Well, once again I must have got it wrong.
Although Nora was just plain irritating, Patch still has a place in my heart. There is just something about him that is so dark and mysterious. I love the fact that he just appears out of nowhere. He has that bad boy charm that is just so alluring. I felt like banging my head against a wall when Nora kept ignoring Patch yet she still whined on about how seeing him with Marcie was heartbreaking. And she was using Scott to try and get back at Patch so she was doing exactly the same thing. To be quite frank, I think I would have been happier if Rixon had just shot her in the head and not just in the arm. Actually, I think a lot more people other than me would have been ecstatic at that.
Anyways besides that rant, the book had me enthralled from start to finish and I loved Vee and her witty comments. It was really refreshing against Nora's depressing attitude. Finally, I can't wait to find out what happens in the next book.
( n.b. I really wished that there had been more Patch and less of Nora's whining)...more
I absolutely LOVED this book. It has been one of the best, enthralling reads I have ever had.
I adore all the characters in this book but I think KateI absolutely LOVED this book. It has been one of the best, enthralling reads I have ever had.
I adore all the characters in this book but I think Kate and Vincent are very well portrayed. Kate at first appears quite withdrawn and shy but inside she is a strong and powerful woman which is shown later in the book. Vincent is the ultimate gentleman. Charming and attractive, he tries to win Kate over. He appears quite protective of her and always thinks of her first. It is clear from quite early on that he is completely infatuated with her.
I think that the whole revenants/undead theme is brilliant and original. I thought it was a fresh and welcoming change from the many young adult books that are based on vampires as personally I am sick of reading or watching films about them. That theme has been covered too many times.
I must say that I couldn't put down the book as soon as I started reading it. The plot was intriguing and mysterious , interspersed with heart warming romance scenes between Kate and Vincent. It may be because I am a sucker for romance but I definitely loved the encounters between Kate and Vincent. Overall, it well and truly deserves 5 stars....more
