I read a lot of books about writing as there's always room for improvement, but this one is definitely one of my favorites so far. It covers a lot of ground about writing as well as about Mr. King's life, offering a peek into the life of one of the greatest authors of our time.
Entertaining, witty, sometimes vulgar, and often hilarious, I would highly recommend this book to any young writers who want practical advice on the craft as well as fans of Stephen King who just want to get to know this author better.

Morgan Gallagher has an immense talent for storytelling, and this eBook showcases that talent perfectly. With two short horror stories and an occult novella, plus the first four chapters of one of her novels, it is truly a fantastic read. Sleet Dreams explores a unique concept that really makes you think and takes you down a road that most people don't want to explore. A poverty-stricken woman is making the best of a frozen winter when she finds a fur coat... it keeps out the winter, but that warmth comes at a cost.
Alma Mater really wrenched my heart while giving me a feeling of poetic justice by the end. Alma is a mother who takes her role very seriously; order, control, and perfection are what she demands of her child. Even with all of this order and control, sometimes a child will not turn out the way her mother had hoped and it comes back to bite her.
The Fool is an intensely interesting journey into the life of Maryam, an investigator who is assigned to the case of a teen gang member's murder within the walls of a Catholic Church. The mystery begins to unravel as a young priest's career is on the line because of this blasphemous act.
Overall: Awesome. Be prepared for British English writing, though. If you're American, keep that in consideration, and you'll be fine =).
I definitely recommend this book! Awesome stories that will keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat.

Is the girl really just crazy and is herself but doesn't know it? What's going on?
Once I began reading further, things began to make a lot more sense.
Because this is the first book in a series, it's no surprise that the descriptive elements in the book are pretty long. I have an extremely short attention span, so unfortunately this doesn't settle well with me. The good news? It's science fiction! Imagine the possibilities.
The good thing is that I only noticed a single weird spelling of a word: midtwenties. Isn't that supposed to be mid-twenties? I always thought so.... So that threw me off for a bit. I edit for a living, so these kinds of things affect me quite a bit... I know some people don't care, but it throws a kink in the flow of things for me.
The book itself, the story, is an epic one. Action-packed sci-fi with incredible characters and scenarios, imaginative futuristic technology, all gathered in a well-written package means that this is the kind of book you can read for a while but will always come back to in order to find out more. What happens next?

It reads better if you use a British accent in your head, but that simply adds to the charm.
"It was a cold October day, the sky a leaking grey bucket that spat rain on her leather tunic and ripped jeans."
The descriptions in this book are vivid and truly enjoyable; even though I've never seen these places or people before, I can imagine everything very well and the way it's written is beautiful.
There are some pretty unexpected twists and turns in this book, too, a wonderful aspect of it that I really appreciated and enjoyed.
There were a couple of random typos and words that were misused, but oddly enough - between the British accent in my head and the action-packed scenarios - I wasn't too affected by them; they didn't disrupt my reading.
The book is long, but there's so much that happens that it needs to be long. This is the perfect book to read if you're looking for something entertaining, exciting, and interesting - the futuristic aspect helps, too, so it literally has a little bit of something for everyone!
"But in reality, the only truth was that the truth could be anything."
This is my favorite sentence in the entire novel; it really illustrates that anything is possible in a book like this, and makes it that much more exciting.

I loved it so much that I literally read it all in one sitting. It's got everything that a good, creepy horror novel should have: suspense, death, fear, and mystery.
I was really able to immerse myself in the characters and events of this novel, and I definitely recommend that any and all horror and thriller fans check out this book. It is absolutely awesome reading!
Even though it's great horror, it isn't gory or distasteful; it is presented well and there's enough going on to keep even my attention.
Great work, Sara - I look forward to further books from you!

This horror novel is definitely unique, with a unique set of characters as well as an interesting - and often surprising - plot. Kevin definitely takes his readers on a journey with his novel; a dark journey through the lives of several characters who are all connected.
Having said that, I'd like to go on to say that the spelling and grammar left a lot to be desired and made the book more difficult for me to read. Hiring a professional editor would help out a great deal with this novel and make it easier to read.
The book cover should communicate a piece of the plot somehow - right now it's pretty nondescript, which is a little disappointing. I went by the description, which is what ultimately had me wanting to read the book.
Overall, it's a great story and a fun book to read. I won't nitpick =). I loved how the events progressed throughout and how the characters developed, and especially that you could - as the reader - understand what the characters were going through.
Great job! I hope to read more from this author in the future.

Geoff Gander does a fantastic job of delivering a suspenseful thriller without a lot of blood, gore, and violence. It really makes you wonder: what else is out there in the world that we don't know about? After all... We don't know what we don't know.
I highly recommend this book. It's an engrossing read and does not disappoint!...more

Without Wings takes the reader on a soulful, deep, and mournful journey through love lived and lost, dreams captured and stolen away.
I'm in love with some of the phrases this poet uses. She somehow managed - with certain pieces - to take a little peek into my own soul and incorporate the connection into her book, her poetry.
"Don't listen to the sound of my heart as it snaps in two And I bleed rotten love on the floor."
How can something so vividly written with such violent imagery be so irresistibly beautiful? This book has reminded me of how much I love poetry.
"Thoughts sliced open" haunt my own thoughts now. What would happen if I chose to slice open my own thoughts? What depths would I reach, once again introspective and appreciative of such intense emotion?
"See me without skin Without preconceptions or edges To define. Peel layers off my skin, as I am, See underneath, down to my soul, See the light that makes me."
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has an appreciation for beauty, heartbreak, healing, and words that reach your core. If this is you - you will love the poetry of Erin Zarro....more

I want to begin by saying that this book was an interesting read overall. The world of the boarding school and the vampire culture is described beautifully, with unique characteristics due to the clearly European writing style of the work (writing times with a dot instead of a colon and using military time, for example – this gave away that the author is not American).
As with everything else in life, the book is flawed in certain ways. The story itself is inconsistent in places (as well as names of characters being inconsistent – Ms. Goulding or Ms. Goulder – p. 8 in the PDF version) and the formatting is inconsistent throughout, with some paragraphs beginning with an indent and others without. This is another instance where an editor would’ve come in very handy for this author to gain perspective and possibly get some advice and feedback on the manuscript before it was published.
Unfortunately, this is pretty commonplace for independently published books – as an editor, I can’t help but notice, while many other people don’t notice at all. One or two revision sessions to perfect the sentence structure and presentation of the story – and its consistency – would definitely help make this book the best it can be.
I connected with the girls’ boarding school aspect because I attended an all-girls school in Germany at one point, and it was a pretty unique experience. The way the author connects the old-fashioned with the contemporary makes the story that much more interesting and it makes a lot of sense for vampires.
Overall, I’m giving this book a 4 for the story itself and how it’s being told, and a 2 for quality of presentation – i.e. editing and formatting issues. Though it does take away from the book as a whole, it can still be improved upon and updated to correct the errors.
This book definitely served as a nice little opening intro to Lady Languish and her life. We’ll see what the rest of the series will bring....more
