I knew Sheila Walsh because I always see her name in every Christian book I’ve read before and heard her speech on TV years back. She is a great speaker and she has that amazing talent of talking to people and simply being an instrument of God in changing their lives, knowing Christ and start their life with him.
I agree with this book at every page I dealt with. Its really clever of her to relate her book to the story of “The Wizard of Oz” by Frank Baum. I really loved that story when I was young, and pretend to be like Dorothy with my little dog stuffed toy as my “Toto” in relation to becoming like the girl in the red shoes and fly away to the land of Oz. In this book, she uses the story to captivate the hearts of all and to see the big dreams that God wants for us in our future so much that we haven’t realized so far.
Reading this book made me feel very worthy of being a Christian. I’m a born again Christian, and I’m very proud of it. I’m very proud that Christ is my personal Savior and he is with me every step of the way. This book made me realize all the things I’m thinking of about my life and never expected that some of them are wrong and have been mistaken to be wrong. Everyone have dreams, dreams for their life that they want to achieve, and this book, tells it all that if we step out of the darkness and the wrongness of our life, and live our journey with God with constant faith, we’ll grow with our unwavering faith, and we’ll continue to trust God and witness the wonders he’ll do to our lives, the grace he’ll show to us, all within our irreplaceable relationship with our Creator.

Alright, why follow? Simply because this book is all about following your heart when it comes to loving someoneOne word to describe this book: FOLLOW.
Alright, why follow? Simply because this book is all about following your heart when it comes to loving someone, because sometimes, the mind isn't always right. But timing is the best part and the most crucial and dangerous one, do it in the wrong time and it'll mess the whole purpose. That's what this book is all about.
I bought this because of the title and the book cover. Never heard of this book before, but I saw it in the Valentine's section at the bookstore. Pretty interesting, I said to myself, and I grabbed a copy because I have that feeling that this would be a great book to read.
I really had no idea why I'm reading romance this month, hehe February? I needed to be in that "love" mood since I'll be acting as a photographer and take photos at Valentine's Day.
So anyway, this story is so sweet. Yes, its not the typical love story where the two meet at parties, get each other's number then go to bed. Its not like where two was introduced by friends, or even had blind dates too. Its just a simple eye to eye meeting that happened in a train station. In books and movie, its very common, mainly because authors wants us to feel that romance in the most simplest and realistic way possible.
I'm not gonna spoil anything in this review, but I just want you to know dear reader that if you want to read a good romance book this month of hearts, get a copy of "This is a love story" by Jessica Thompson. You can really relate to the characters, especially the emotions. And also, you'll learn a lot from them as they share the feelings they have and opinions when it comes to love.
It is a love story, a very different, entertaining and of course, that sweet sweet love story of two people who met, fell in love at the wrong time with the right person.

This book is such an amazing combination of romance and reality. It pertains to love that you can last for forever. Putting God at the center of relationships is the best way possible to survive a love you’ll ever want until the end. I was so fascinated by the love story of Christy and Todd. They’re very simple and adventurous, even though they aren’t always together; the love they carry on within their lives is so strong that they always have Christ in their center which is a beautiful thing. We must not take love for granted, not just to say that you want a love life, or a boyfriend or girlfriend, or being just jealous towards other people. It’s all about that perfect moment that God has planned since the very beginning.
What I learned and realized in this book that we think that true love doesn’t come in ways that you want it to be. It’s truly unexpected and it is the truth. God doesn’t want us to find our true love when we’re in the middle of huge problems and crisis. God will always put us in that perfect moment where we’re in that right position of contentment and we’re ready to take on a relationship that’s worth having. We must not be scared and worry, because God has already planned it, meeting our true love in the midst of our life course thinks like it’s difficult but we just have to wait.
Todd and Christy’s love story is such a great example to all of us who wants a relationship worth having for the rest of our lives. All relationships aren’t perfect, that’s what makes it beautiful because both will figure out how to make their relationship last until forever.
I recommend you guys to read this book, it’s an ultimate must read.

With her best friend, Mike, who helped her a lot ever since the death of her husband made her feel that its time for her to love again, and she has that feeling its going to be Mike. Then the story goes by, and she met a guy named Richard who she thought is perfect because of his features; handsome, tall, a great engineer and she also thought who is a nice guy. They dated but it never worked for Julie so she ended it (since actually nothing really is happening) a couple of dates, going to the movies, kissing in the porch, but it meant nothing to Julie in the end. Mike however, was truly in love with her, no doubt, he’s her best friend. Okay…well mostly I’m about to tell the whole story but practically this is how it goes: Julie fell in love with Richard, but it didn’t work and Richard became upset because he still likes Julie, as a matter of fact, he’s obsessed with her. Then Mike and Julie confessed their love for each other, and they found out that someone is stalking Julie. You know who that is.
To be honest, I’ve never read ALL of Nicholas Spark’s books. I’ve only read The Lucky One, A Walk to Remember, and The Notebook. As well as I’ve watched all of the movies pertaining to his book, which are truly amazing. And, I’ve realized that he made an awesome job mixing both romance and danger in an entire novel which kicks off as a thriller. Creepy and scary, dangerous and unsafe. Nicholas Sparks gave a twist in a new romance thriller. I’m nor used to it, but certainly its one of my favorite books next to A Walk To Remember and The Lucky One when it comes to Nicholas Sparks. (I’ll be making a book review too about The Lucky One soon)

I just can't get enough whenever Miles or what they used to call him "Pudge" saying Poof in some parts of the book. It's just funny and entertaining. My first impression for this book was so typical since read the synopsis talking about a life of a student at Culver Creek Boarding School, a selective institution for the intelligent and rich. Miles met some friends, taught him a lot, also, influenced him to a life worth living for as a student.
The story is great, yet shocking on the climax. But for me I learned a lot from this book. It made me realize things about life and about your dreams. Makes you stop and think and read it all over again. John Green did a great job on this book. It's my first time to read a John Green book, and yes I believe now in what most of my friends say that he's really a great author.
“The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.”
“Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. (...) You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”
“It always shocked me when I realized that I wasn’t the only person in the world who thought and felt such strange and awful things.”
-some quotes you'll stumble upon reading this book. ;)
I really recommend you guys to read Looking For Alaska. It's a great read.
I won't spoil you about the happenings in the story, because I know that it will be all worth it when you guys grab a copy. ...more

Words can’t express my love for this book, I just read it overnight and I cannot stop myself from thinking about it very much. But I will try my best to contain myself and describe through the use of words on how I got hooked so bad in this book.
I’ve been wondering what North and South is really about ever since I started browsing through the “classic section” at my favorite bookstore. There’s a mixture of politics around here with a dash of romance that sprung up in the middle of the story which made me feel a little bit bored before buying this book. I was thinking that I might not like it, it might not be of my best interest.
But I was wrong. Totally wrong.
The story talks about the life of Margaret Hale, a daughter of a clergyman that decided to move to a different city in the north. Together with her family, they witnessed the lives of the people in the city and struggled to fit in and be a part of the civilian. Margaret, being from the south; isn’t really used to the place. Missing all the nature and glory of the sun, she tries her best not to think about the past, but to move forward to the future.
There she met Mr. John Thornton, who is a wealthy cotton mill owner of the place and has a very aspiring sister and a genuine yet very aggressive mother. They met, and of course, Margaret dislikes him immediately. But the mill owner dislikes her too at first, but falls passionately in love with her because of her bravery and courage. Then his workers strike. Against a background of industrial drama and personal tragedy.
After I read the book, I immediately searched the web for any tv mini-series or movies that suit up North and South, and unbelievably, there is! The 2004 BBC mini-series starred by Daniela Denby-Ashe and Richard Armitage himself! I was literally squealing in delight that I downloaded the series immediately!
For a much easier explanation:
Girl hates Guy because he’s being a dick. Guy starts to fall for girl because of her strong personality. Guy confesses undying love for Girl and wants to marry her. Girl rejects Guy. Guy pretends to hate Girl, but Guy’s love grows stronger each day. Girl starts to realize guy is not really a dick They meet in the middle Then live happily ever after.
Here’s the thing. I’ve always been a fan of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy and their breathtaking love story that’s truly one for the books. They have been on my number 1 list of best period drama couples ever, and one of the best books I’ve ever read by Jane Austen. But this…
But this love story is all so truly beautiful. It is simple, just like Darcy and Elizabeth, similar in terms of their dislike towards each other at first. But little by little, they both grow compassionate for each other that showed love in ways that they don’t even realize they’re falling for it. They’re falling for love with each other but they simply deny it at the back of their minds.
Not twisted, not very ill, just plain love. It’s all so heartbreaking every time I read the book and watch the scenes all over again. Makes me want to have my very own Mr. Thornton, and also Mr. Darcy too! I CAN’T EVEN… OH MY GOD.
There are those love stories that we wish it can happen in real life. This is definitely one of those stories.
You must read it, then watch it. You will thank me soon. ...more

One word: BEAUTIFUL.
Actually, this is more like a delicate book. It's just so sad!!! Surprisingly, this was such an easy read in terms of the writing, but the story itself was just REALLY, REALLY SAD. I don't want to say anything else, but simply it is just a story of two people who are just so unexpected to even know each other and let alone fall in love with each other. (Side note: This IS NOT similar to The Fault in Our Stars, just a teeny tiny bit, that's it) Maybe some people won't agree on my feelings towards the story, but hey do I care.
The love story was beautiful, rough at the beginning but in the middle towards the end, there are moments that are just so perfect that it feels like the world and time stopped together just for both of them. I can even picture it on my head which actually gave me a bad hangover because I felt so deeply connected to the characters. I love that at the middle of the book, you really are very familiar with the characters, and their growth was just inexplicable in both ways. I just love this book even though it is very sad.

This book is extraordinary. Wrote in very simple words and plain poetry, I imagined things that could change my life if I put my life in a much deeper devotion to God.
No words can describe how this book was such a page-turner for me. Dealing with different situations, this book contains the true story of a person that truly changed Mitch Albom’s life from thereafter. This jewish priest named Henry or “The Reb” was the key to all the life’s wandering about faith and of course….hope.
I was so fascinated by the Reb’s story here. I feel so weak and incompatible with my strength and it made me think about my relationship with the Lord. If I should measure it again and see how far it took me to say that I am in a very deep and intimate love affair with Christ. After reading this book it made me realize that there are always second chances and barely are they have given by the Lord’s hand.
We cannot take things for granted, and somehow we do that to God. We don’t realize it, but we’re using these beliefs or religion that we cling on to say that we have been changed and purified. But the question is, have you really changed? Or are you really changed? An easy question, but hard to answer.

I’ve always been a fan of John Green ever since I read recently the books; Looking for Alaska and Will Grayson, Will Grayson. (You can read my reviews on these books by clicking on them) Finally I thank God that I got this book! I bought this in a very quick 1-minute back-up before boarding my plane to Singapore. I have that theory that if I pass a good book again, I’ll leave empty handed in my pockets and so in my brain, that’s why I rushed to buy it at the airport bookstore.
What John Green wrote in this book is simply amazing. The other well-known reviews are so right; “It takes you on a spin on universal themes-Will I be loved? Will I be remembered? Will I leave a mark on this world?” as said by Jodi Picoult. This book has been a twist of topsy-turvy spin on how the world runs in an orderly and unexpected manner, how it does in ways us human beings can’t always see because mainly, we see but we don’t look, we look but we do not search, and we search because we do not know. It’s a cycle of thoughts caught in between of a person’s believable perspective in theories and analytical happenings in life.
When I was reading this book, it’s like I can feel what characters are feeling (duh like in any other book) but the difference in this book, is that it makes you feel that YOU are in that position. There are ven facts and other quotable sayings that make you say “Ohhh” and “Aaahh, so that’s why” and tons of other stuff you’ll really burst out from your mouth while reading this book. Why expressive? Mainly because the thoughts of John Green about the universe in such questionable manner has been taken credit to the characters, and it’s like he’s the one who’s asking you through the pages. I feel very happy and much interested whenever I encounter those parts.
You know what? I highly encourage you guys to read this book mainly for only 2 REASONS:
ONE: John Green did GREAT on writing this book.
- One great proof I can say is the title itself, does it ever make you wonder what it means? Oh well, better read it and you’ll see.
TWO: You’ll be able to experience and see the wonders of what the universe leaves you at times you needed them.
- Did that make you question? This book is jam-packed with thoughts that you cannot fathom into constellations. Check that out. ...more
