I knew Sheila Walsh because I always see her name in every Christian book I’ve read before and heard her speech on TV years back. She is a great speaker and she has that amazing talent of talking to people and simply being an instrument of God in changing their lives, knowing Christ and start their life with him.
I agree with this book at every page I dealt with. Its really clever of her to relate her book to the story of “The Wizard of Oz” by Frank Baum. I really loved that story when I was young, and pretend to be like Dorothy with my little dog stuffed toy as my “Toto” in relation to becoming like the girl in the red shoes and fly away to the land of Oz. In this book, she uses the story to captivate the hearts of all and to see the big dreams that God wants for us in our future so much that we haven’t realized so far.
Reading this book made me feel very worthy of being a Christian. I’m a born again Christian, and I’m very proud of it. I’m very proud that Christ is my personal Savior and he is with me every step of the way. This book made me realize all the things I’m thinking of about my life and never expected that some of them are wrong and have been mistaken to be wrong. Everyone have dreams, dreams for their life that they want to achieve, and this book, tells it all that if we step out of the darkness and the wrongness of our life, and live our journey with God with constant faith, we’ll grow with our unwavering faith, and we’ll continue to trust God and witness the wonders he’ll do to our lives, the grace he’ll show to us, all within our irreplaceable relationship with our Creator.

Unusual story line. I really thought it was just like the typical dystopian book but its not.
This book focuses more on the political side of the story and all the action scenes which was really good and kind of refreshing unlike other dystopian books that always, ALWAYS stays on the romance part.
I swear, this book caught me off guard. I really enjoy the strong characters and all the character building going on.
Also, this is a fantasy book, but didn't focus much on magic. I'm looking forward for Ice Like Fire for MOOOOORE magic and more exploration of all the kingdoms PLUS I want to see and know more characters.
Very unexpected ending, even though you kinda see it coming but you still want to feel the surprise.

WHOAH. It is true what they said about the plot twists on this book, I tried my best to prepare myself but hey, I obviously failed.
Well, plot-wise, the book went pretty well and it left hanging actually. When it comes to Lia, well I felt sorry for her for all the things she went through and all the lies she believed.
BUT!!!! I AM MORE EAGER TO WHO KADEN AND RAFE IS. That's it. Period. Now go read the book. ...more

With her best friend, Mike, who helped her a lot ever since the death of her husband made her feel that its time for her to love again, and she has that feeling its going to be Mike. Then the story goes by, and she met a guy named Richard who she thought is perfect because of his features; handsome, tall, a great engineer and she also thought who is a nice guy. They dated but it never worked for Julie so she ended it (since actually nothing really is happening) a couple of dates, going to the movies, kissing in the porch, but it meant nothing to Julie in the end. Mike however, was truly in love with her, no doubt, he’s her best friend. Okay…well mostly I’m about to tell the whole story but practically this is how it goes: Julie fell in love with Richard, but it didn’t work and Richard became upset because he still likes Julie, as a matter of fact, he’s obsessed with her. Then Mike and Julie confessed their love for each other, and they found out that someone is stalking Julie. You know who that is.
To be honest, I’ve never read ALL of Nicholas Spark’s books. I’ve only read The Lucky One, A Walk to Remember, and The Notebook. As well as I’ve watched all of the movies pertaining to his book, which are truly amazing. And, I’ve realized that he made an awesome job mixing both romance and danger in an entire novel which kicks off as a thriller. Creepy and scary, dangerous and unsafe. Nicholas Sparks gave a twist in a new romance thriller. I’m nor used to it, but certainly its one of my favorite books next to A Walk To Remember and The Lucky One when it comes to Nicholas Sparks. (I’ll be making a book review too about The Lucky One soon)

I just can't get enough whenever Miles or what they used to call him "Pudge" saying Poof in some parts of the book. It's just funny and entertaining. My first impression for this book was so typical since read the synopsis talking about a life of a student at Culver Creek Boarding School, a selective institution for the intelligent and rich. Miles met some friends, taught him a lot, also, influenced him to a life worth living for as a student.
The story is great, yet shocking on the climax. But for me I learned a lot from this book. It made me realize things about life and about your dreams. Makes you stop and think and read it all over again. John Green did a great job on this book. It's my first time to read a John Green book, and yes I believe now in what most of my friends say that he's really a great author.
“The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.”
“Imagining the future is a kind of nostalgia. (...) You spend your whole life stuck in the labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining that future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present.”
“It always shocked me when I realized that I wasn’t the only person in the world who thought and felt such strange and awful things.”
-some quotes you'll stumble upon reading this book. ;)
I really recommend you guys to read Looking For Alaska. It's a great read.
I won't spoil you about the happenings in the story, because I know that it will be all worth it when you guys grab a copy. ...more

Words can’t express my love for this book, I just read it overnight and I cannot stop myself from thinking about it very much. But I will try my best to contain myself and describe through the use of words on how I got hooked so bad in this book.
I’ve been wondering what North and South is really about ever since I started browsing through the “classic section” at my favorite bookstore. There’s a mixture of politics around here with a dash of romance that sprung up in the middle of the story which made me feel a little bit bored before buying this book. I was thinking that I might not like it, it might not be of my best interest.
But I was wrong. Totally wrong.
The story talks about the life of Margaret Hale, a daughter of a clergyman that decided to move to a different city in the north. Together with her family, they witnessed the lives of the people in the city and struggled to fit in and be a part of the civilian. Margaret, being from the south; isn’t really used to the place. Missing all the nature and glory of the sun, she tries her best not to think about the past, but to move forward to the future.
There she met Mr. John Thornton, who is a wealthy cotton mill owner of the place and has a very aspiring sister and a genuine yet very aggressive mother. They met, and of course, Margaret dislikes him immediately. But the mill owner dislikes her too at first, but falls passionately in love with her because of her bravery and courage. Then his workers strike. Against a background of industrial drama and personal tragedy.
After I read the book, I immediately searched the web for any tv mini-series or movies that suit up North and South, and unbelievably, there is! The 2004 BBC mini-series starred by Daniela Denby-Ashe and Richard Armitage himself! I was literally squealing in delight that I downloaded the series immediately!
For a much easier explanation:
Girl hates Guy because he’s being a dick. Guy starts to fall for girl because of her strong personality. Guy confesses undying love for Girl and wants to marry her. Girl rejects Guy. Guy pretends to hate Girl, but Guy’s love grows stronger each day. Girl starts to realize guy is not really a dick They meet in the middle Then live happily ever after.
Here’s the thing. I’ve always been a fan of Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy and their breathtaking love story that’s truly one for the books. They have been on my number 1 list of best period drama couples ever, and one of the best books I’ve ever read by Jane Austen. But this…
But this love story is all so truly beautiful. It is simple, just like Darcy and Elizabeth, similar in terms of their dislike towards each other at first. But little by little, they both grow compassionate for each other that showed love in ways that they don’t even realize they’re falling for it. They’re falling for love with each other but they simply deny it at the back of their minds.
Not twisted, not very ill, just plain love. It’s all so heartbreaking every time I read the book and watch the scenes all over again. Makes me want to have my very own Mr. Thornton, and also Mr. Darcy too! I CAN’T EVEN… OH MY GOD.
There are those love stories that we wish it can happen in real life. This is definitely one of those stories.
You must read it, then watch it. You will thank me soon. ...more

But there are parts here that I loved about Aspen. BUT we all know it's going to be Maxon and I have no problem with that. This book for me focuses more on the romance part and the selection itself rather than the uprising in the society and all the distopian-ness of it. But still, it captured my heart and I felt all the heartstrings of Maxon and America's love story. It was funny too, and all the girls, well it was like watching a reality tv show! Hope they still might give it a chance to become one.

This book is extraordinary. Wrote in very simple words and plain poetry, I imagined things that could change my life if I put my life in a much deeper devotion to God.
No words can describe how this book was such a page-turner for me. Dealing with different situations, this book contains the true story of a person that truly changed Mitch Albom’s life from thereafter. This jewish priest named Henry or “The Reb” was the key to all the life’s wandering about faith and of course….hope.
I was so fascinated by the Reb’s story here. I feel so weak and incompatible with my strength and it made me think about my relationship with the Lord. If I should measure it again and see how far it took me to say that I am in a very deep and intimate love affair with Christ. After reading this book it made me realize that there are always second chances and barely are they have given by the Lord’s hand.
We cannot take things for granted, and somehow we do that to God. We don’t realize it, but we’re using these beliefs or religion that we cling on to say that we have been changed and purified. But the question is, have you really changed? Or are you really changed? An easy question, but hard to answer.
