~Review: The Legacy of the Clockwork Key is one of those other 2013 debuts that just rock your socks! I loved it to absolutely no end!! There have been about 4 books that have been released this year that have already made my top 5! This my friends, would be one of them. I absolutely love steampunk novels but I read them so rarely. So it’s one of those genres (and I am sure you have heard me mention this several different times on SEVERAL different occasions and are probably tired of it but I shall say it one more time!!) that are kind of savored. There are SO many dystopian and SO many vampire books, werewolf books, etc. that there tends to be nothing special about them. Ok, so there is a lot of special going on with them. Each author has their own way of making it unique and absolutely fantastic but what I mean to say is that..well…
Ok, so let’s say that your favorite dessert is chocolate chip cookies but your mother (husband, wife, brother, sister, best friends…dog! Whoever is going to buy you a chocolate chip cookie!!) only buys you one per month. Are you going to savor that cookie? Yes. Why? Because it’s a rare gift. You only get it once a month. Its holds value because of its ????. Now if your friend started you getting you a cookie every day would you look forward to it as much? Again, you are still going to enjoy it because well..it’s one of your most favorite desserts! Its good. It could be great but because of that lack of rarity you don’t enjoy it as much.” Oh ya! A chocolate chip cookie. I get one of those every day…” See my point?
Anyways!! Enough about chocolate chip cookies. This is supposed to be about Kristin Bailey, The Legacy of the Clockwork Key and Kristin Bailey’s debut of The Legacy of the Clockwork Key. I think you are beginning to see my love of steampunks and how that all goes now right? Yes, so wow. Just wow. I never could have guessed what I was going to receive after I opened Bailey’s debut. I knew it was going to be steampunk. I knew it was set in Victorian London. I knew it had something to do with a clockwork key and the legacy it withheld. I knew that more than likely it would be good. I knew that I enjoyed steampunks. What I didn't know? I didn’t know that there was going to be all sorts of genius wrapped up in ??? pages. I was blown away. Kristin Bailey has one talented hand that’s for sure! The amount of imagination and detail that went into this book is unbelievable. She has made a favorite out of me! A HUGE one I might add.
The voice she puts into ??? is transfixing. The story flowed so well there was no way I could put it down. I didn't WANT to put it down. The characters were a joy. The mystery was very much enticing. The automatons were magical. There were times I had to remind myself that this was indeed a steampunk and not one once of fantasy or magic was a part of this book. THAT is how amazing Kristin Bailey’s writing is. THAT is how incredible this book is. I felt as if I had jumped into the pages and joined Will and Meg on their adventure. Oh how I wish I could have! Especially just to meet Will ;D
This book had everything. The romance was splendid. Not only did we have some romance going on between our main characters but also from the side characters. Oliver and Lucinda were just plain out adorable! You guys seriously have to try this book on for size. If you haven’t ever touched a steampunk book, start with this one, fall in love and thank later ;D I know I always say “this is a book you don’t want to miss out on”, but it’s true. When I say that line I mean it with every fiber of my body. I literally want you to understand that missing this book will be a tragic book crime. So, people, go out and get your little hands on this book ASAP. You do NOT want to miss out on the start to what I can tell is going to be a phenomenal series. (see that I changed the words up a bit ;D Same meaning though. ;P). I seriously don’t think I can wait a whole year for book two. Why do book releases have to be so tormenting ;)

~Review: Well, to start off I loved Wander Dust. The story line and time-travel element was so unique and I quickly fell for this series. The characters were pretty darn awesome too. At the start of this book we have Sera kicking some booty. She has been working hard to progress her fighting skills so that she can go back and save her mother. But she has a protector for that right? Ya, but she plans on going alone so that no one she cares about can get hurt. Hence the fighting training. One big catch though...she is getting better than Bishop and....Bishop's twin brother, Turner, has been helping her all summer break long. Ya, that's one way to heat up the already feuding brothers.. especially because..there is a teensy little spark between Sera and Turner...even though Sera keeps denying it. Oh! And there is something Bishop is hiding..something that can potentially ruin their perfect relationship. And!!! There is still danger lurking at every corner!!
This book was even better than the first! There were lies, betrayals, flirting, flirting with hot boys, returns of enemies...*takes deep breath* Protecting Truth had it all! And once again....I stayed up till 2 am finishing the book. See what you do Mrs. Warren!! ;) I loved seeing Sera become more independent and kick-butt. She is a pleasant protagonist to follow. And most pleasantly....Turner. I was in love with Bishop but we got to see a whole lot more of this twin of his and...I fell hard. Like, wow. Ya, he is just....haha ya. So, I have a new favorite!!! ;)
I seriously had so much fun reading this book. It had some more humor (thanks to Turner) and I like to laugh. The twists and the ENDING!!!! OMG!!!! You guys...that ending....I died!! Michelle Warren is one heck of a writer and I wish this series got more hype than it does. It deserves it! Protecting Truth is utterly amazing! I enjoyed staying past my bed time ;) flipping through its pages. I was hooked from the beginning and didn't want to put it down. I needed to finish it right then and there. No exceptions...including sleep! I am SO excited to see what happens in the final book. I *tears up* something big needs to happen cus that..that ending...simply will not do!!
Ugh guys, If you haven't picked up this series yet...do so. It has everything a good book needs. It is thrilling to the brim. Especially this book. It is amazing and creative and you will love it without a doubt. This review is pretty short but it has to do because there was way too much that went on for me to even begin to describe...this whole review would be filled with spoilers. Your just gonna have to trust me on how good it was. You all know I don't give out 5 stars to just an book. It seriously has to be pretty outstanding to make that mark and this book hit it. So.....

~Review: Where to start? Uhmm the cover? Uhhh gorgeous!!!!!! And the title! So adorable! I totally got it after reading the book! I love when the titles have a direct link to something in the story line! Michelle Warren was not only a brilliant cover and title creator...she was a fantastic writer! I loved her writing style and her creativity with Wander Dust!
Seraphina was a great protagonist. She was real and strong. Yes, I use the word "real" a lot when I refer to characters but it is one of my main needs in characters, in books. I have to be able to find something to relate to. It all can't be pure fiction. I need real. And this book had it. Props!! I liked all the characters! Even the bad ones! They all had these likeable things to them. Well...maybe not one of them...stupid girls ;) But I felt betrayed with the ones who I came to like. I felt a loss just like Sera. :( I LOVED Bishop!!!! O.M.G!!! British? Yes please! Brown hair, green eyes? Hell Yes!! And then on top of it all...he is your protector? An excuse to spend time with him? Double hell to the yes!! Give me!! ;D He was not just a pretty face though...no this boy is as sweet as it gets and...the most romantic thing? They can travel to exotic places thanks to the wandering abilities...also...in whatever time they want...as long as they have a relic of course!
Now you have to give props where props are due.....This was an awesome sci-fi time traveling book. I loved the "wander dust", relics, and team theories! I loved it all! It was all so awesome and thought out! I seriously wish I had the wanderer's powers! :( I want my own protector too ;)...just saying! I had so much fun reading this book! I didn't want it to end and then of course how it ended!! Thankfully, thanks to Michelle, I didn't have to but I guess in a way I do...I have books up to my ears peeps!! :( But omg, this book was amazing ya'll! I can't express any more how much I loved the theories of this time travel! I loved following this book around to how things fell in place and all! A-MAY-ZING!!
Wander Dust is excitingly unique. With its brilliant, enticing, and time-warping story line you are bound to be hooked from the very beginning! I had only ever read one time traveling book before and I found Wander Dust wonderfully refreshing! I loved Wander Dust! Once I got into it (which didn't take too long) I couldn't put it down. I totally recommend this book to any sci-fi time traveling lovers! And to all those who aren't! You will find yourself pleasantly surprised! It has a cute love story and awesome theories to tie you into the story. If I had one super power/paranormal power it definitely would be time-traveling! I am a history junky and that would be an easy way to get around history with the personal experience! I mean wow...Ya, guys read this! You won't regret it at all!
Holy mother of pearl!!! This book was SO flipping good! You have all heard about second book syndrome right? This book...no problem!! This book had it ALLLL!! And woah! Major shock when I heard it was from Kaleb's POV! But oh..I am SO not complaining there! I love Kaleb! He is gah!!! Indescribable! And I really really wanted him and Emerson! :( Theyre relationship like I said..flowed! They were cute and flirty and they would pick on each other and they understood each other! Sure! They didn't make electrical appliances explode (which is cute between Michael and Emerson) but they had sparks!
The relationship in the end I accepted and really came to love but only at the end. It gained my approval because it did become really cute and uhm a hella sexy!!! ;D
I loved the more information we get about the time-gene, the Houglass, etc.! Very enlightening haha But wow! This book was crazy!! Seriously It had soo many twists and turns!! I was cringing, about to cry, laughing my butt off!....Kaleb+a full POV from him= the funniest banter ever! God I love this boy!!! I also love how we got to see more of Lily and the secrets she holds! She became a strong character and I really came to like her! :) She is tough in so many ways and is also quite the comedian!
Now back to the crazy...Chronos, Teague, Jack, Poe!! Oh goodness Poe!! I think I really could have come to like you.... *sniffle sniffle* Sure you did what you did but...there were reasons. I don't think you meant them...Oh well we will see what happens I guess! But again..moving on....so many doors were opened in this book and then some were shoved closed...right on your face! Rude!!! ;b But the biggest doors are wide open....well...maybe not. They are cracked an waiting to be opened so they can release all their secrets...but that's what the final book is for. DUH!! Oh and when you hear people say this is a fast paced book...they aren't joking! But don't worry...It is well written fast paced!! :D AND!!! This ending was a bombshell ending! So be ready! It has me craving book three like crazy! It was a cruel cruel ending!!! :b
Please hurry up Infinityglass!! I need you! Like an actual need!!! Is there anyway I can time travel nto the future, read the final book, then come back!? No?? Phewy!!! >:b *sighs* So much waits in Infinityglass! This book was about all the crazy and all the time-continuum screw ups! Thanks to Jack everything is all wack and the only way to fix it all is by finding the Infinityglass! Grrrrr!!!!
Ok. I'm gonna end this rant by saying you really need to read this series! It is truly remarkable! The Hourlgass Series will blow your mind and leave you thinking about all that has happened long after you've read it! Again. this one word.....UNIQUE! It truly is and I'm a wee bit obsessed! Oh! Before I go....what's the chances of getting the third book from Michael's POV? Lily's?? Kaleb again!!!!!? :D Idk...I'm just super excited!! This book gets........more
I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into when I picked up Hourglass. I was kinda confused about what it was actually about...ghosts or time-travel? Or could it be both? Then I read it and everything made sense! This is series the most unique book I have ever read!! Myra is a complete genius! She kinda has to be to think up something like this. No. Scratch that. Because not only did she think up something like this but also because she could explain it...through science! Real or not real...it made sense. Sometimes we create fiction but have no way to explain it but by...fiction! But Mrs. McEntire does a amazing job trying to bring science into it...it's more believable when it can be explained right? Right! Wow! Ya it was pretty freaking genius!
Not only was the plot and idea so unique but also the writing style and all the characters! Myra McEntire is one of those rare (and loved) authors who can pull off the description of writing in perfection...remember when I ranted about Julie Kagawa and the differences between writing styles (comparisons [too much or too little] and vocabulary [again too little or too much])? Yes!? Good! No!? Here ya go...5th paragraph...! Well anyways...with that being said/shown Myra is in the perfection catagory!! Yippee!!! Her descriptions/comparisons were perfectly done! No trouble! Her vocabulary was also! Ya, she had me going to the dictionary more than 3 times but...that's my fault! I have a TERRIBLE vocabulary! (that and a spelling problem...but! working on it don't worry haha)
Now for the characters: Emerson was awesome!! I seriously didn't think she would be as awesome as she was! I totally had her pinned out to be someone else before reading the book (do you ever do that? Imagine the character a certain way just based in the synopsis?) She was so fierce! And a bit abusive haha She could hold her own that's for darn sure! Hahaha her and Michael's first talk was the BEST thing ever! I laughed my freaking butt off! Goodness that was awesome! Haha and also her second..third? I dont remember...the scene when they are running(you'll know when you read it or if you have) Funny stuff! Michael was awesome! He wasn't my favorite and too be honest....I liked Kaleb for Emerson...Michael had this temper thing that kinda bugged but Kaleb and Emerson's relationship just flowed! Idk o well! I'll talk about that later!
Finally......Sorry this "quick" review ended up being a lot bigger than anticipated hehe! You all need to go get this book now! I completely regret reading this book so late! Hourglass is a beautiful unique gift that has you seeing time-travel through new eyes! It did a 180 on my interpretation of time-travel for sure. I seriously can't think of another word to use but unique because that's just what it was! And so wonderfully written so! I have a new favorite series and author! I'd rewind time over and over just to read the book again...but even though I don't get to time travel...I will re-read! So this book gets a 4-star rate!! :D...more
