The book held my interest enough for me to finish but overall I was annoyed. (less)

I see he has another book coming out in Oct already. Methinks being that prolific compromises quality. (less)

It's like House meets the Sopranos meets Pulp Fiction. The ending was particularly cringe worthy and I could totally see Quentin Tarantino directing the movie version. But I loved it.
Charming, witty and fun. A great summer read. It's not too taxing on the brain cells but not dumbed down.

However, this one has black plague and lesbians. It's a medieval potboiler. Lifetime for Women of the Middle Ages if you will.
I will say I was annoyed by the use of the "c" word. "I did look up the history of the word(darn you Ken Follett for making me google the "c" word!) and it didn't become profane until the 18th century but I still think it was unnecessary.
I was interested enough to finish the book but like the other reviewers said the payoff to the big mystery was "meh".
