Only a series of unimportant events and repeated assertions...until the end, where in the last couple of chapters all go upside down and you can only think «why?!»(less)

As far as baked goods went, they were badass. I grabbed for Tenley, bearer of treats.
I’d spent the past hour tattooing a pretty little cupcake no more than two inches above a place I wanted to bury my face in.
I was so screwed.
Under all the armor he wore, Hayden was in pieces like me. It made him safe. He understood what I’d been through.

When we're finally naked together, I plan to unleash all the knowledge I've accumulated." He looked over at her with a mischievous grin."
In the end a fairly good novel, but sometimes the author tries too much to be funny. The characters are not thoroughly developed. Male characters are the best, more "whole". Both with their background and their dialogues...they seem to me more realistic. Jack is hot and sweet, he's a cop and a mixed martial arts fighter...and has the most cute little dog in the world, Drogo (perfect name, by the way ;), a chiuahua with a bull-dog syndrome according to Jack. XD What else should one say about him?!
Crissy's brother, Jack's BFF, is a big jerk and during the reading you want to give him a very big slap on the head and tell him «Wake up dude! Are you seriously so stupid?!» so, ok, he's not my favourite character but he is well described. ;)
Crissy, on the other end, is claimed to be a doctor (one who has worked in third world countries ladies!) but she doesn't behave like one. She doesn't know how to be a doctor so maybe another job, one the author knows a bit more?, should have worked better. Lastly all the giggles. God, after the third one, I felt my skin prickle every time she made a giggle and I wanted only to kill her. Sorry but, seriously, too much is never good. -_-
In conclusion, the plot is well managed by the author (although a bit common), the novel is quite funny to read but the characters need a bit more work. (less)

This novel is one of those I found surfing goodreads. It was also interesting for the setting, the West of the pioneers in 1851...and for the female main character, a young half-Indian. The experiment was not a complete success, as you can see from my rating (which would be 2.5), because even if the story is original and has great ideas, the author didn't succeed to bring the novel at the fullest of its possibilities. It 's a bit shallow and I wasn't scared nor felt tension during the horror scenes. Moreover it is more important the love story (which anyway develops too fast) than the horror part. In the end, it is a short novel that can entertain for a few hours, but nothing more.
"Does not seems so silly to be talking about such a thing when we're out here with the wolves and the monsters in the trees?" "No, Eve" he said. "It's not silly. We're still human even in the face of beasts, even with our lives at risk. When you're close to death, love is sometimes the only thing that makes sense in life."
