I'm already in love with Michael from reading this short (wish-it-was-so-much-longer) novella, so I can't imagine how hard I'm going to fall for these Merrick boys in a full-sized book! :)
Overall, I LOVED THIS SO MUCH! ♥ Buy it, buy Storm, and while you're at it, pre-order Spark because I'm pretty sure you're going to love it too! ;) ...more

First, let me just say that I'm a baby chick when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'm not into anything terrifying or gory or even remotely scary, because I get nightmares way more often than I dream. But even with all of that, Anna Dressed in Blood was awesome!
It was everything I was expecting and more! There were ghosts and blood and mystery and a surprisingly sweet romance that made me smile. Not only that, but this book was funny. Like, right after a scene that gave you shivers, one of the characters would say something and you'd burst out laughing even though you knew it wasn't really the right time.
(And nope, they weren't just morbid jokes!)
I can't even explain how much I loved Cas! Anna Dressed in Blood was another one of the few examples that could pull off a male narrative written by a female author. Cas was just awesome, and his other awesome friends (like Carmel and Thomas and even his mom!) made it doubly awesome!
Clever and suspenseful, Anna Dressed in Blood is a book I think tons of people would enjoy, whether they're into horror books or not! It wasn't overly gory, but it didn't lack in those shiver-inducing aspects either. I would definitely recommend it, and I can't wait for the sequel to come out!
BUY or BORROW?: This is a horror book fan must-have! Even if you don't like horror though, this one would be awesome because of the great plot and beautifully haunting cover! :)
I may get jumped by hardcore Vampire Academy fans for saying this, but I actually think I liked Bloodlines better than the first book of VA! Richelle Mead has just shown the world how a spin-off series should be done! There was still lots of vampire drama and action (and lots of characters we adored return even better than ever), but we also got to learn so much more about the Alchemists and new characters too.
The pacing was perfect — there wasn't a single moment when I was bored while reading. The author did an amazing job combing an intense mystery, a twisting plot, and a complicated world together. And her writing has also improved a lot since her first book which I was so happy to find!
I liked Sydney enough in VA, but I absolutely loved her in Bloodlines! There couldn't have been a better narrator! She was just so real and easy to connect with, being smart and witty and doing things that were incredibly easy to fathom.
And I've always been Team Adrian (♥) so you can bet I was ecstatic with his huge role in this book! The romance wasn't the main focu, but I found that it made it so much more realistic this way. I foresee tons of romance in future installments though!
Fast-paced, mysterious, and tons of fun, Bloodlines was a breathtaking start to a new series that's worthy of every bit of praise it gets. Even though it's highly recommended that you read the Vampire Academy series first, it's not mandatory. This book is awesome on its own! :)
BUY or BORROW?: I borrowed this one because I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not, but now I'm going out to buy my own copy! This is definitely a book you want to have on your shelf!
MY MIND IS BLOWN. Even though Unearthly was one of the best angel books I've ever read, I never expected Hallowed to top that... but it DID, and it onMY MIND IS BLOWN. Even though Unearthly was one of the best angel books I've ever read, I never expected Hallowed to top that... but it DID, and it only took gallons of tears, several goofy grins, and a consistently aching chest for me to figure that out!
I don't think I know a single person who won't cry at least once while reading this book! Hallowed is one huge emotional roller coaster with Clara finding out that someone close to her is going to die. It was beautiful and heartbreaking in the most realistic way, and I'm both in awe and heartbroken with how Cynthia Hand handled everything.
I love Clara! Not only is she one of the most emotionally strong characters I've ever read about, but she's also so realistically flawed and easy to understand. The whole cast in this book was perfectly crafted, because not once did I think anyone was too perfect and that's exactly the way I like it.
And as for the romance... I don't even want to call this a love triangle. It's too honestly beautiful to be that! ♥ Not many books that can make me switch teams (especially when I loved someone like Tucker first!), but Hallowed managed to do that without making either boy a jerk. Cynthia Hand knows how to write a book that makes you want to tear your heart out and read it over again at the same time.
Beautiful, heartbreaking, and about a gazillion other positive & melancholic adjectives, Hallowed is a MUST-read for anyone who read Unearthly, just like this series is a must-read for anyone who likes to read in general! The wait for book 3 feels eons away!

A huge thank you to Cynthia Hand for sending me a copy! Thank you so much! ♥
