I think the reason why everyone loves it is because it’s very realistic and anybody can really relate to it. Also Paris is a such a romantic setting. The characters are great, they are funny and unique in their each way. Anna and St. Clair, along with their friends, are amazing. The book is not that perfect, but the characters have compensated whatever is lacking from the book. It is sometimes predicable. But I admit, I was actually waiting for the “French Kiss”. I was halfway through the book, but I still haven’t read the Kiss. LOL! I just love St. Clair, and I just couldn’t resist his charming ways. He’s a certified campus crush! He’s definitely the guy that any girl would want in her life! But I sometimes hate the fact that he has a girlfriend when he fell in love with Anna. Well, it’s only because of my personal reasons. LOL!
Anyway, I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially those who believe that they are young at heart.

What an achievement! Even though my eyes are aching while reading it, I just can't stop! haha! This is a wonderful read, very funny! The characters are very interesting with different personalities. I think this book would definitely make a wonderful movie out of it. If there will be. I like Lola and Cricket, they are so perfect with each other. But there are times that I think he is so perfect thet Lola doesn't really deserve him. Well, its ok since she loves him since they we're kids. Anyway, I recommend this book to all! ...more

They said this is just an ok book so I lowered my expectations when I read it. And I actually enjoyed it! Oliver and Hadley are two lovable characters, they have somehow got along with each other even though they just met at the airport. They shared a lot of cool stuffs, talked a lot, and you know, Oliver is such a funny guy. He's incredible! And he's British! It seems I love British guys lately, like Nicholas Hoult, Julian Morris and Max Irons. Haha!
My favorite part is when she asked him to be honest with her. And then he kissed her. Then he said "you said to be honest. That was the most honest thing I've done all day." ...more

This is definitely a very wonderful and unique book, a dystopian/sci-fi in particular. It felt like a breather for me, with all those dystopian books coming out nowadays. Some of them are tragic, and terrifying at times. But this book is one of a kind! It started off slow, but not in a negative way, the start kept me sitting and glued to my seat. This week has been busy for me because of the holidays, but I made sure that I get to read two or three chapters each day. It was very interesting, and I considered it as well-written and researched. A lot of questions were popping in my mind while reading it, but they were answered slowly along the way. Cassie, the protagonist, is a strong heroine, she's sometimes confused, but she definitely knows what to do in needed times. Balik, the gorgeous partner of Cassie, is a very likable male character, I'd like to hear more of him. Hopefully with the next books, he can also be the narrator. LOL!
The book contains the enough mystery and adventure of any first books should have. I like the turn of events and I felt like I am also Cassie with the search of answers, and shocked with the truth. I am very excited with the second book! Hope to read it soon!
I highly recommend this book to all the dystopian and sci-fi YA lovers, I'm sure you will also love it as much as I do!...more

I really enjoyed reading this one which is a huge surprise to me. I totally did not expect anything from it, I just knew that it's interesting especially with those covers. It seems that the cover with a beautiful blonde girl and a gothic looking hot guy tells us the whole story. I thought it'll be as predictable as the covers. But I was wrong! This book doesn't have any predictable parts or scenes. I like how it started, the accident of Alona, and details from it were hidden and answered in the end.
I love all the characters, they grew on me instantly, even though I've read it in a very short time. Alona is a witty and funny character. She died in an accident and woke up as a ghost. In spite of her reputation and bitchy attitude, she kindness underneath. I like how blunt she is, she's honest to tell anyone if she wears an awful outfit. Lol! She's also brave, especially if she wants to win or achieve her goal. Will, on the other hand, seems like a hottie and he definitely made it on my book boyfriend list. Well, he seems my type, especially with his mysterious side and white teeth. Lol! He said he's not a goth and of course I believe him even though he likes black and he wears hoodie most of the time. There's more from him that most people don't see. One thing I like the most is the alternate POVs, the author really did a good job on creating the characters. She made them lovable and you can identify the two. I think it's rare that I can find a believable guy's POV from a female author. Sometimes female authors tend to write girly guy's POV which is a huge turn off.
I will definitely read the other books from the series and I already have them now. I want more from Alona and Will! ;)...more

I know I should have not taken this book so personally, but I've grown to really like Cal, and it has hurt me damn much on what has happened to him. He didn't deserve it. It was too much. I hate Hawkins for doing it to him, she didn't even give him a chance to be happy. And I also hate myself because I'm so affected. I know, this is not about Sophie and Archer since he's out of the picture already, but hey, why did he has to die? I don't really get the point there. Anyway, I was also hoping that Hawkins will write a little love story between Cal and Elodie, but no! It didn't happen! Just a slight comment from Elodie about making Cal change his mind about her.
Yeah, this whole review is all about Cal, and not about the book, but I hope you'll understand my sentiments and I'm seriously grieving right now. It'll take me a whole bunch of happy books to cheer up. Maybe if I'm not this sad anymore, I can give a proper review. LOL!...more

But it started really good, definitely caught my interest. Then, I lose my interest halfway. Maybe because I didn't like Sadie's personality. She's too perfect, a super good girl, responsible and also pretty. I hate the parts the book kept on repeating how beautiful she is. Also I don't like Jax too, I think he's too obssessed with her. Anyway, it's good in some parts. I think I will still read her other books....more

It really exceeded my expectations. I don't read much vampire books, but i decided to give it a try, since it is on our buddy reads. I love and adore the book, intense and gripping. A different kind of vampire story with a touch of dystopia. Dark and brutal and beautiful at the same time. If you want a kick-ass heroine, you will definitely like Allison. The romance is also heartbreaking, but made me yearn for more. I want more of Zeke, and I need the second book now!!!...more

I've been hearing a lot of good things about this book, and I'm so happy to finally read it! Everything about it is really good! The idea of the four elements mixed in a book makes it so interesting and addicting. It's a pretty long book honestly, but there was never a part that I got bored. Who would get bored with a book with four gorgeous guys in it? Haha! No one, I think! Michael, Gabriel, Nick and Chris are awesome characters! The heroine, Becca, is such a tough one, and I really like her too. Wow, I'm so picky with heroines, it's very rare that I get to like one. Haha!
Anyway, going back to the characters, Michael is the oldest, he controls Earth. Chris controls water. Nick controls air and Gabriel controls fire, they're twins actually. I really like stories about super powers and elements, and Water has been my favorite. I admit I'm a little bit confused at the beginning because there are too many characters, I couldn't differentiate who is who. But it grew on me as I read! I really like the suspense and mystery in this book. It is also action-packed! And I also like the romance part, though I thought it'll be instant love between Chris and Becca, but somehow it really developed well. There's also an additional hot guy, Hunter - mysterious and seems dangerous too, but he's really sweet. I admit I got confused, I was actually rooting for Hunter in some parts. Ok, I have to stop now before I spoil much! Haha! This is a good series and I'm picking up the sequel and novellas right now. I'm looking forward for more action-packed adventure and sweet romance! And I'd like to get to know more about them! I don't know who's my favorite among them, but I have to admit that I have this crush with Hunter, his sandy hair and knowledge with rocks. *swoons* :)...more

This book definitely reminds me of Hunger Games and The Bachelor, so I say it is a combination of the two. I would have given this book 3 stars if not because of Aspen. He's the boyfriend of the heroine for two years. Yeah, I really like him a lot even if he's poor. He is definitely man enough to stand on what he believes in and he's full of pride. While America Singer is sometimes an insecure and immature girl, but I like the fact that she is being just herself throughout the time she's in the competition. Prince Maxon, the "Bachelor", is very charming, he laughs a lot and he really knows how to keep a conversation. But I like Aspen more, because the prince seems an ordinary prince for me, a gorgeous and rich prince. Anyway, the book seems a bit short for me and I felt like the author just decided to end it that way without further elaborating about the contest and the setting. The writing style needs to be improved too. But I still like it, it felt more like a contemporary book with a bit of dystopian, with more romance than action. And I'm definitely Team Aspen! ;)
Here's my favorite line from Aspen: "America Singer, one day you will fall asleep in my arms every night. And you'll wake up to my kisses every morning."
