The first dystopian book I'd ever read. Absolutely incredible. One of the best. The story did remind me of Battle Royale, but whatever. They are different. This book gave me a lot of emotions while reading it. Some people may say that this is too violent or brutal or disturbing but I think this book had clearly showed the importance of love, life, and freedom. You can learn a lot from this book. This is magnificent read. Read this! :)) (less)

Honestly, I love this more than the Mortal Instruments. They are both great but this one has some kind of a unique appeal on me. Or maybe I just really love Victorian era London. Haha. But first of all, can I just thank Cassandra Clare for writing this incredibly awesome book. And for making me so happy. Dude, Cassie's just really genius. This is really wonderful. The settings, the plot, the characters. The twists are cool and whenever I figured out some connections from TMI I just felt completely awed.
And yeah, I ship Tessa and Will really hard. Even though what he did to Tessa on the last part was really rude and heart aching. Jem is good and I do love the guy too and I think Tessa really does deserves someone like him. Its just that I think Tessa is exactly what Will needed. And I really don't think Will mean everything he said on the attic. Will is physically strong but he's really emotionally weak. And I think being weak emotionally is way more self-destructive than being physically weak. Not that I don't sympathize with Jem's condition. But I think I understand Will. The guy loves Tessa and he really does cares for her, there's just something holding him back. I don't think that Will is really a rude, emotionless guy and I don't want to judge him yet. There's still a lot of things we needed to learn more about him. I hope the Clockwork Prince will answer tons of questions I had after reading this. ^^
This is a great book. I highly recommend this. A must read! :))

This is the first Holly Black's book I ever read and I so love it. I have this weird weakness with male's POV. Haha. So yeah, this one totally got me. The concept was cool and unique, it was a little confusing (and a bit boring) during the first parts but as I moved on with the story, more twists and revelations came and I found everything really awesome and cool. Cassel Sharpe is the protagonist and the narrator of the story. He wasn't describe as the good-looking, gorgeous, stunning kind of hero. But even so, once you read his perspective and the way he handle things and think, oh god, you'll definitely love him. You'll find him hot and cool at the same time. LOL. ^^
An awesome read. One of my favorites and book's-i'm-obsessed-with. Hahaha! I recommend this to everyone! ^^(less)

Everything just freaking hurts.
I was compelled, awed, confused and utterly heart-broken. This book was a whirlwind of emotion. It was just too emotional that I am seriously having a hard time thinking what to say in here. The last part left me completely torn that I didn't know what emotion I should feel first. I just wanna lie on my bed, stare at the ceiling and think of a thousand ways of how the story should've turned out. And I can't believe I have to wait another year to wait for the third book. I'm seriously going mad.
Though this book had left me emotionally wrecked I can still say that this was really beautifully made. The plot was awesome, the twists are thrilling and exciting, the revelations were shocking and heart wrenching and the characters are all wonderful, and not to mention those totally swooning scenes. Cassie's really a great writer. I am very much awed with this world she made and how immense impact it can bring on me. Not so may authors can make me feel like this, to make me bring out so many emotions and to feel so devastated when everything is not going well, as if it was my life in there. I was devoured. Completely devoured.
In this book, I was finally able to see and understand the real William Herondale. The loving and caring Will. The one who sacrifices a lot and would do everything just for his loved ones. Most parts of the story, I wanted to cry for him. I wanted to jump into the book and hug him and comfort him. All those rudeness and impoliteness during the first book was for good. Realizing everything he had done, every sacrifices he made, every pain he had endured just to save everyone was just so heart aching. Will was such a wonderful and good person. I got a lot more reasons now to love him. The last part left me so torn and I can't imagine how painful it was for him.
There were a lot of Jem in this book, actually more than Will. I saw a much stronger and less suppressing Jem here. I was surprised when he proposed to Tessa and she accepted it. But I can't help but feel sad and pained at that time instead of being happy for him. I was just wondering why he seems to be so oblivious to Will's feelings for Tessa. In the Clockwork Angel, he clearly noticed Will's feelings but in CP it feels like he has no idea that Will and Tessa have feelings for each other. Or maybe he thinks that he needed to have something or someone he really wanted or be selfish just for once despite what others were feeling since he's living a short life and he never wanted anything in his life before. I don't know. I want Jem to be really happy and be cured. But I want Tessa to end up with Will.
I feel so sorry for Tessa. I understand her decisions and I am just as freaking confused and torn as she is. She loves Jem but she is in love with Will. I think she accepted the engagement because she couldn't stand to hurt him and she wanted to make him happy but not because she is IN LOVE with him. However, she can't undo her decisions because it would not just break Jem's heart and even if she really does that she can still never be with Will. It would break Jem and Will's friendship. And it would be like a betrayal. Oh My Freaking Gahd. I just want everyone to be happy. I just want Will to have his Tess, Jem to get cured and live, Tessa to know what she really is and be with Will. But it doesn't seem so to be that easy. And sacrifices have to be made. Ughh.
Though most of the time I felt so emotional there are still parts that made me laugh, grin and happy. Charlotte and Henry's story was really cute and I really like it. It was so sweet and heartwarming. Sophie and Gideon's too. And I am sooo liking Gideon. Magnus too! Oh my! And that KISS! And those things he told to Camille. It was just so ridiculously funny! :)) And oh! The cliffhanger made me feel excited for the next book! But that would be an agonizing wait. :/
This book is a beautiful, awesome and heartbreaking read. Yeah, you're most likely to have gone mad after reading the story but still it was just so compelling and gripping you know its very much worth the hurt and wait. In the first place you wouldn't have a reaction like that if the story isn't wonderfully made and written. :))

This book is freaking cool! Like really really cool. It's like I got hold of an advance-tech, sophisticated gadget, a newly invented video game, or a high-end, atomic bomb-proof car! Yeah, that kind of cool! If you get what I mean. Oh well, anyway, this book is not like any ordinary young-adult novel. With its parapsychology and pseudoscience science concept, this book definitely went beyond just being awesome. :DD
I got totally hooked up by this book. Everything was just so cool and exciting. The concept was great and really interesting, the parapsychology thing really got me. I was so excited with everything and with the abilities of the characters. All the characters are so lovable! (Well, except for Rachel) LOL. I just love them all especially Lila, Suki and Nate. And of course Alex! (Fangirling strikes in!)
Lila was so adorable, she's strong, funny and really cute! She knows about her ability and she kind of accepts it but also knows that she's always not in control of it and that it could be dangerous. Her thoughts were really funny and her reactions were really cute (especially when its about Alex) and I can't help myself but grin and laugh at that. I loved her relationship with his brother, Jack. He's totally overprotected to her but not really the irritating type. They were so close and really care for each other. I find it really sweet whenever Jack said he love her little sister (not the sister-complex type, just a real brother-sister relationship)Haha! And then there's Alex.(Fangirling striking in again!) His brother's best friend, whom she has been in love her whole life. Their age gap was a bit big, 4 of 5 years? But it doesn't really matter once you start reading this and met him and found out that he's seriously swoon-worthy! LOL. The last part was totally...*swoons*! And I just totally love how their relationship developed.
And the twist about Demos group was cool. I found myself loving all of them once the revelation kicked in. Especially Nate and Suki. Really funny and cute, and not to mention their abilities are kick ass! Haha.
And yes, the last part was a total action and I just so loved it. Really cool and and entertaining, its like I was watching a real action-filled movie. The characters are all magnificent and they all seemed like a bad ass movie-stars. LOL. >:DD
I applaud Alderson for doing such a great and smart job. A story you would definitely crave for more! Enjoyed it very much. Perfect 5 stars for this book! :))

When I first read Divergent, I was awed. I loved it and I really enjoyed it. However there was this small part of me that just cannot acknowledge that this series could be, like most reviews had said, leveled with The Hunger Games. I don't know, there was something I need to see or feel for me to be completely convinced that it is worth comparing to THG or say that it could be as great as THG.
And well, great job Veronica Roth, because Insurgent just had me convinced that this series is indeed f*cking AH-MA-ZING! I was floored! I can certainly say now that this series could be leveled with not just THG but other really great dystopian novels as well.
I was so happy this sequel didn't become a filler book, or that it didn't suffer on the "second-book syndrome" in which most second novels in a trilogy tend to be. I was surprised to realized that throughout the book there were so many things that actually happened, so many discoveries and things learned.
I thoroughly enjoyed the parts where we get a look on each faction. It was fascinating and interesting to see how they work and learn their beliefs and principles and ways of living. I saw the good and the bad in each of them, their issues and flaws and realized how much their world were twisted seeing how it limited their people to have their own individuality.
With her grief over the loss of her parents and her guilt over Will's death, Tris went through an intense emotional roller coaster ride. Her regrets and remorse from what had happened drove her to make thoughtless and careless decisions and actions. Which made me ache for her but also drove me pretty crazy and frustrated me a bit. It was understandable and believable though especially after all that had happened and obstacles they were still facing. With all those emotional suffering she'd been through she was still an amazing and admirable character, a really brave and strong-willed heroine. In the end she was able to find her way and realized the right things she has to do.
Tobias/Four. I saw a lot of different sides of him in this book. His usual 'cold and aloof' facade he wear most of the time was gone. He showed a lot of emotions in this one and he'd been more open regarding his feelings. I saw a frustrated Four, a vulnerable Four, a regretful Four but also a very loving and caring Four and boy did I fall in love all over again!
What I also loved so much in this book was how Tris and Tobias's relationship was handled. It was very real, believable and mature. I love that it showed how it was to have a relationship in a situation were too many obstacles, conflicts, emotional baggages were thrown. It wasn't easy and it wasn't always beautiful. But they were still able to overcome it. The downside of it helped established their relationship into a much stronger and more in depth one. I was touched by them and I just so freaking loved them.
I found myself dumbfounded by the ending. It was mind blowing and I was seriously surprised. It wasn't really a brutal cliffhanger but it was a very good cliffhanger! I wasn't expecting that and it made me so excited for the next book! Overall, Insurgent was a very remarkable and impressive sequel! Once you read it, you'll never have a doubt about his series. I highly recommend it. Book 3, hurry up! :))

This was a heart warming and heart breaking book. I didn't expect that this would be really emotional but I guess everything that happened this time contributed a lot for the development of each characters. But I was still definitely stunned and surprised by all the unexpected twists and revelations. The writing was really good that I was so consumed I finished it in one sitting. I was awed and devoured on how everything turned out this time but the ending left me really sad and with a big "what now?" question in my head 'cause I don't have any idea on what's gonna happen next.
To be honest, I was pretty annoyed to Clara during the first parts with all the "Tucker is my future", "I love Tucker", "I own't let him die, I'll fight my purpose" thing. And I guess I was just reacting like that because I'm on team Christian. Yeah, it was silly of me to feel like but that's just what really happens to me if I liked the other guy in a love triangle that's why I really avoid them, it affects my freaking judgement to the heroine. But anyway, it was only during the first parts. As the story progressed, I saw Clara's character developed too. She was confused between the things she wanted and her purpose. But as things started to get thrown in her she was able to handle them strongly, especially the situation with her family - her mom and Jeffrey.
I love Clara's relationship with her mom. And her mom was definitely the coolest mom I've ever met in the YA world. That it was really devastating when we realized what Clara's vision really was. In Unearthly, I was very amused with Jeffrey and Clara. I love their sibling fights and love but I have really no idea what's happening with Jeffrey. He was one of my favorite characters in this book and it was just sad seeing that their family looks like falling apart. I just wish that Jeffrey wouldn't go in the wrong side and direction.
Even though I've been on team Christian since the beginning it doesn't mean that I wouldn't feel heartbroken on how things ended between Clara and Tucker. It was just so sad during the last part especially when Clara read his emotions. I saw how much he loves Clara and how Clara loves him as well. And I know even it was really heart breaking Clara did the right choice. Loving someone doesn't mean staying with them forever but learning to sacrifice and letting them go to keep them safe and better.
I learned a lot about Christian here and it just really made me pretty happy. I was actually surprised with all the revelations about him and that made me love him more. lol. He's smart and mature and I love how he explained why he broke up with Kay even if he loved her. He was very supportive of Clara and was always at her side every time. You might have think that I might be celebrating right now since Christian was pretty leaning forward but no, not really. Yes, I was happy I saw a lot of him now and I still want him for Clara but I also felt Clara's lost and sacrifice that it was just hard to be totally happy about it.
This was a story of acceptance and letting go. And it was inspiring in many ways. I really don't know what's gonna happen next but I am really looking forward for the next book.
*And yeah, I heard there will be TV series adaptation of this book? Wow, that was just awesome! Let's hope it sticks with the original story. :))

I just wanted to sit down, think of everything that happened and let out a contented sigh and a satisfied smile. Then be at peace. lol! But for Logan, Aura and Zachary who had all been a very fascinating and lovely characters, who made me swoon and grin so much it hurts and who provided me so much entertainment and happiness I guess it's just fair to share everyone how much I enjoyed this series.
Shine was a really great book and I would say that it brilliantly concluded this wonderful series. I love how everything was revealed, resolved and finally fulfilled. The characters were well developed, the discoveries and truths about the myths were amazing and the ending was just stunning and fantastic.
Aura on the previous book, to be honest, had me really worried and anxious in every action she did or decisions she made. But in this book I seriously loved her and trusted her. She was more sure, more determined, stronger and braver. I love how how much she cared for Zachary and how committed she was to him. Her determination to stop the Shift and help Shades to become ghost and passed on even if it was risky was amazing and impressive. She definitely grew up in here and now I can totally say she's pretty kick-ass heroine!
Zachary. I just seriously love this guys so so much. Not because he did some kick-ass stunts and tricks and beat up all the bad guys but because I saw a very vulnerable side of him in here. He went through some pretty serious sh*t that almost had me bawling my eyes out and my heart ached for him. Still he never gave up, for Aura. He was a very impressive and remarkable character and I was just really touched by his dedication and love for Aura.
I was very much touched and moved by this two. They went through a lot of things here but they always overcome it together. It was heartwarming and also very sweet. And I thank Jeri Smith-Ready for giving us so many lovely, cute, steamy and sweet scenes and making me swoon countless times before finally wrapping everything up.
The other thing that made me enjoy this book so much was the mystery about the Shift and Shine, the myth in Newgrange in Ireland. It has always fascinated me since I started reading this series and I really loved discovering the truths behind it.
And one more thing that I really really loved Jeri Smith-Ready did here was she made Logan present, I mean, his memories were always present. He was always remembered and I even appreciated his character more. It was very heartwarming and touching.
I really loved this series, it was beautifully written, remarkably unique and very captivating. Jeri Smith-Ready is a very wonderful and talented writer. I so encourage you guys to read this series, you'll never regret it. :)

Alright, as with the first book this sequel offered a lot of more exciting adventures, shocking twists and brilliant ideas. Ash became a traitor of his own court when he decided to take Meghan and bring him back to the Summer Court but also had put up his mind that they can't really be together. Also with the threat of the new Iron King and the stealing of the scepter everything had become more complicated.
A lot of times while reading this I caught myself holding my breath. Though I really had a lot of fun reading this book, things were really unpredictable and I can't help myself but to wonder and constantly worry. (Haha, I'm that kind of reader. I get emotionally attached to the character that I care for their relationship more than mine. LOL.) Especially with Ash and Meghan's relationship and then with Puck getting back to the seen and confessing. Yay, so yeah, though Puck was the other guy and I'm on Team Ash I didn't really got annoyed with him, in fact I was able to like him more in this book. He was the kind of character who doesn't push or force himself to the girl he likes. He seemed to understand and respect what Meghan was feeling for Ash and didn't go over the limits. He just wait and continued to be loyal to Meghan. And I respect him for that. He was really a wonderful character.
In this book, they also met Leanansidhe, the Queen of the Exiles. And I like her. Though, of course she sometimes was scary, I think, so far, she was the most generous faery I ever met (in this book). She was smart and wise, offering her help to Meghan to bring back the scepter and fight the Iron Fey even though she was an exile and doesn't really have to care for the Nevernever. She thought that it would also affect them badly if the Iron Fey won. The part I like the most with Leanansidhe was when she brought Meghan shopping and spa to have a full make over to disguise Meghan as an employee of SciCorp. She seemed to be more human that faery that time. ^^
Ironhorse had become also their friend and ally at this part. I was surprised when he vowed to protect Meghan with his life and to help them defeat the fake Iron king. I liked how he became really protective over Meghan and served her like she was his real princess. Sadly, he died sacrificing himself to save Meghan and saying in his last breath that it was an honor, saving his queen. I found that really touching since Ironhorse was an Iron Fey.
The last part was really WHOA~! Haha. They got the scepter and brought it back to Mab to stop the war between the Summer and Winter. However when Meghan gave it to Mab instead of being grateful and all she went being narrow minded and bitchy. God, I was really annoyed with her, she was a faery queen but had mind of a fly (well, I think in terms of being rational). But thankfully, Puck and Ash came with a proof that the Iron Fey was real and that Rowan was the real traitor. So Mab ,thankfully, believed and asked Ash to go back to the Unseelie court, become the heir of the throne and remove any connection from Meghan, however....he declined.(Yay! My heart was pounding really hard at this part)He told them he can't because he loved her. (And I just died at that part). I think I should stop here, I know no one reads this but just in case someone reads this I don't wanna spoil him/her the ending. So yeah, let's just it was ASDADAJKFFDJHFKAJAOE! :)))

I would just simply say this book is perfect. No more of those nuclear bombs of adjectives describing how great the book is, just simply perfect. Reading a final book of a series has always made me feel a little anxious, well of course I do get excited and giddy too, but there would always be the feeling that I might not get satisfied in the end, and surely its effects on me will be devastating. But thank goodness, Julie Kagawa knows how to make a proper ending, especially for such a great series.
While reading this book, I was like 'Oh god, Julie, how are you even able do this?' I was completely awe and amazed. There's something in her writing which always caught me, that always made me so much drawn to the story. Her imagination is just wow! By the way she wrapped this up, it left me very well contented and satisfied.
In this book, Ash and Puck traveled to find a way for Ash to be with Meghan in the Iron Realm. As they goes through their journey, they faced great physical, mental and emotional challenges, met companions they never thought would be coming and found realization within themselves.
One great thing about this book is I get to see Ash's side. His thoughts, his past, his wavering and vulnerable side. I was able to learn more of him here, see what he really was. I saw how he faced everything, how his thoughts dithered and faltered at times, how he hesitated with his decisions, how he took all those realizations. And also how he had overcome them.
The Ash and Puck team-up was also one of the high points of this book. Though there had always been tension between the two because of what had happened in the past, both had come into civil terms in this part of the series. I saw how their relationship was in the past and how the challenges and unexpected twist they faced through their journey affected it. Though, basically this is Ash's story, Puck really did shine in this book. And I think I saw a mending relationship in here. :))
The last part was in Meghan's point of view (Is this a spoiler? Haha!), oh well, I won't be saying anything but yeah, definitely this is a good part. I found myself on my way to the last part wishing that I could read the ending in Meghan's POV, and *tadaa!* Kagawa did it! Yay! The ending was ---:))!
And yeah, one more thing, I was so so touched, moved, awed, amazed on how Ash had fallen in love with Meghan. After knowing almost everything about him, from what he was and what he did in the past, it was kind of Wow! To think that this guy, this kind of guy fell in love with a girl and now he would definitely do anything and give up everything just to be with her. That was just really WOW! :)) (Yeah, wow. I can't find a word to describe it. Haha!)
This series will always remain in my heart! I will forever treasure this story. Thank you Julie Kagawa for creating such magic, I was totally devoured by your world.

In all honesty, I can say that Graffiti Moon is one of the best contemporary books I've ever read. I started reading this last night and I found myself totally caught up with the book. I really couldn't stop even though I have a 7:30 class the next day and needs to wake up really early [What was left for me was 3 hours of sleep]. But seriously, it was all worth it. [Yeah, right. At third period I found myself day dreaming of my bed. LOL]
Lucy had been looking for Shadow, a graffiti artist everyone's talking about. His works are all over the city but he seems to be nowhere. On that night of their celebration for the end of their year 12, Lucy and her friends met Leo, Dylan, and Ed who seem to know who Shadow is. Ed took Lucy for an all night search to the places where Shadow’s thoughts about heartbreak and escape echo around the city walls. Little did she know that what she had been looking for was the one right before her eyes.
I so love all the characters! Lucy is such a lovable character. I love how she seems to understand arts sees the deeper meanings into them. Ed was the last person Lucy wanted to meet that night. And when I figured out why I really can't help but laugh and knowing that the person she least wanted to see was also the person she had always wanted to meet. Ed's a very talented person however he seems to be broken and lost. Seeing art as the only thing to put his emotions and frustrations he started to fill them out on the walls of the city. Other characters like Leo and Jazz are also adorable. I find Leo and his poetry really cool. He and Ed do really made a good team together.
In the end I love how Lucy and Ed face and come up with all the issues in their lives. I saw a very hopeful and bright Ed on the ending and an understanding and accepting Lucy. The ending was so sweet and simple and really promising.
This is written in multiple POVs, both of Lucy's and Ed's which made me really happy. Having both perspectives of Lucy and Ed made it easier to connect and understand them and their situations.
This novel made me really want to jump in the book, hug all the characters, never come out and see the continuation of their story. I would really love if this book could have a companion book. I can't actually get enough of Ed and Lucy. I want more of them! LOL.

This book brought so many smiles in my face and warmed my heart in so many ways. A very poignant and compelling read that would reach deep down inside you. This is a story told with great humor, intelligence and honesty. I cannot fathom how much this book has struck me but I am certain this book has changed something within me after reading it.
I've seen this book in a lot of blogs as one of their most anticipated books for this year. So I read the blurb and...I got scared. I mean, I saw right there that it's something that would be really emotional and I just so know the feelings it would left me after reading it. And they pretty much bother me, not because it was bad but whenever I read stories like this I tend to get so attached to the characters that even when it was just something fictional I feel the lost, like I was the one in there and I can't seem to let them go too. So yeah, most of the time I really avoid emotional books. They really crash my heart and makes my eyes a freaking waterfalls.
But thank you, to those wonderful reviews I've read that convinced me to give this a try because I wouldn't be able find out how this book is so different from most heavily dramatic emotional books I've seen. This book is just so downright beautiful and utterly honest. This book made me see a lot of things in a whole different way, made me realize how lucky I am and taught me so many great life lessons.
I'm sure I wouldn't be able to give this book justice in this review. But just let me tell you what I really loved about this book. Hazel, Augustus and their life lessons. I've read the first two chapters and I already fell in love with them. Despite the seriousness of the situation this two were absolutely adorable and funny. They were witty, intelligent and strong. And they are honest, they are both cancer victims, so they already know what choices they have, what either way they could go and what might gonna happen next. So there wasn't really those fake, hopeful speeches or dialogues that might have also deceived me. They just say what's real and what's not, what's to expect and what's not to hope for. It was harsh and terrible but it was also the truth and the reality.
I can't helped but be awed at those things they say and how they think. Especially Augustus, how good his heart was and how uniquely he saw things. I may say that the way they talk things was a little unbelievable, with all the use of metaphors, and the talk about universe, existence, oblivion, heroism and nobility - you wouldn't think a teenager could talk like this even in the brink of death but never mind that because what you need is just to see what he was pointing out, see the meaning of what he was saying and think of it, absorbed it and realize things through it. I applaud John Green for creating such outstanding characters, though quite unbelievable but still absolutely entertaining, adorable and really awe-inspiring.
I spent most of the time laughing, thinking, swooning and chocking back tears. The story was filled with great humor, harsh truths but beautiful life lessons. There were moments like I was already crying then I would suddenly smile or grin because of the witty remarks of the characters. The development between Hazel and Augustus's relationship was something I really loved too, how they grew to really loved each other was so lovely and heart lifting.
The last few chapters was very moving and beautiful. The ending was perfect. I can't explain how much I was touched by that. It made me cry not because it was sad but because it was so unbelievably heartwarming. And whenever I remember the ending I can't help but think of Augustus, of how great this guys is, how sweet and caring, how honest and intelligent. I'd never met such character as him. He's definitely one of the greatest character I'd ever read. Hazel's the main character here and I really loved her narration but Augustus was really a great highlight in here.
I really have a lot of things I wanna say but they are all jumbled in my head now and I don't know how I will but them up together orderly. But god, the only thing that keeps coming on my head really clear is that this book is downright-flat-out-absolutely beautiful and heart warming read! I really loved this book and I would love you all to read this! :))
“Air punched out of my lungs. I held her tight, and I knew right then I would burn down the whole universe for her if I had to. I would do anything to keep her safe. Kill. Heal. Die. Anything. Because she was my everything.”
Sweet baby aliens everywhere! Everything in this book is just so f*cking overwhelming, my emotions were all over the place. This book is just so freaking ah-ma-zing! I was shocked by the revelations, amazed by the twists, touched by the characters, swooned by the moments, stunned by the discoveries, broken by the loss. Jennifer L. Armentrout, once again, I applaud you for writing a very captivating, gorgeous, and outstanding sequel that is just so freaking addictive. I'm obsessed, smitten, enamored, and so so in love with this book.
I wouldn't exactly say I enjoyed everything about this book because there are moments that really had me frustrated and annoyed I wanted to scream. So why the 5-star? Talk about smitten, that's me. 'Cause when you're smitten you just don't care, right? Especially when you've been given a really good peace offering so you'll just forget and forgive. Yeah, that’s how it was in Onyx. Because Daemon and Katy finally being together and with those three freaking words being said is one hell of a f*cking peace offering! So all those frustrations and annoying moments? Erased. I'm giving this a five-star rating. I don't care.
Katy. Although she did give me quite a lot of hair-tugging and head-shaking moments here I still love her. She made mistakes; wrong choices, actions and decisions that had caused quite a number of conflicts and had hurt other people's feelings. But what was good was that she learned from it. And she proved it. She was still the strong and kick-ass book blogger heroine we'd first met in Obsidian (although honestly I think she's cooler in Obsidian).
Daemon. This dude had me feel all the possible feelings I could get. And he’d thrown it in all freaking directions that all I could do was absorbed them all at the same time. And it was so ‘effin overwhelming. My heart was always about to burst. Yeah, he did still have his jerk moments but whenever he turns one-eighty and became this sweet, caring and protective Daemon, well I was undone. I exploded, imploded, blasted, and shattered. And I fell in love all over again.
The development between Katy and Daemon’s relationship had me smiling and grinning almost the entire time and even after I finished the book. We saw a greater depth in it, not just the sexual tension (although it was ever present) but something deeper, profounder and really emotional. I was touched and moved and my heart swelled a lot of times over those genuine and honest things Daemon and Katy had admitted to each other.
As for the plot, I say it was very well and cleverly done. Although I had correctly guessed some of it, I was still surprised with how it turned out and how it was delivered. The revelations and twists were both shocking and amazing. There were a lot of happenings that were unexpected and some sacrifice that was utterly heartbreaking. The ending, though wasn’t a cliffhanger, was still a really surprising and unexpected one that made me wish I have the next book already. The dialogues were still great and fun, the banters between Katy and Daemon still made me laugh a lot. Though Daemon calling Blake in different names that starts with letter B was funny at first but soon felt rather annoying.
Onyx is a very engaging and entertaining read. I was devoured and completely captivated by this story. Jennifer L. Armentrout’s writing has this capability of capturing the interest of so many readers and held on to it for as long as she wants. Her characters are very well rounded and were never dull. The interactions between them were funny and amusing. And the story itself always provided something that always had us intrigued and interested. I am definitely and I guess, will always be looking forward for more of her books and especially more about Katy and Daemon. I highly recommend this.
And just because I feel like a teasing, here's a quote from that scene in Deamon's pov!
She lifted a small hand, running the pads of her fingers down my cheek. I turned into the touch, pressing a kiss against the palm of her hand, and then I found her mouth again. This kiss was different, more intense, and Kat—aw , God—Kat came alive...

I realized I never really knew how it really was to say goodbye to a story and its characters that I have come to loved so much until the Clockwork Princess. I have finished a lot of series that I really enjoyed and loved yet this is the first time that I've felt such overwhelming heartache and grief to part ways with these world, characters and story Clare has created. But through all that I am really glad and grateful that I was able to witness the journey of these characters. Meeting them is the most wonderful reading experience I'd ever had.
*A full review will come although I really don't know how I would be able to make a proper one without turning into a blubbering mess. (I'm afraid every time I'd try to remember those things I love about this book so much, I'd sob and sob and sob.)

I'm probably one of the most fanatic readers of New-Adult contemporary books when it started inching out in the book blogosphere. I found myself grabbing and devouring every NA book I think I might like. However, just as fast at it have started, my enthusiasm for them has been just as short-lived. The problem, I think, was that everything has been the same. Same plot, same drama, same conflicts, same set of characters. I want new and unique. So, you see, I've been really pretty reluctant in picking up some NA lately.
But here comes a NA from J.Lynn. As in Jennifer L. Armentrout. She's one of my most trusted author. I have enjoyed almost all her books. Sooooo I said, let see...
And boy oh boy, it was fantastic! Truthfully, I didn’t find Wait For You's plot as something new, original nor unique. But I can certainly say the opposite to its characters. JLA has this knack of making cliché or not so original plots into something very enjoyable by making her characters very very interesting. Her characters overshadowed the things that might have bothered me with the plot. They carried the story so very well that all you'd wanted to do is follow them and see what they would do with the conflicts and situation.
Avery was a character I greatly empathize with. There was this vulnerability and innocence in her that would want you to hug her and protect her. Yet there were moments that she could be really feisty too and I really like that about her. Cam, oh boy, this guy just stole the number one spot from Daemon on my top book boyfriend list! Like Nick had said in her review, I think Cam is the swooniest hero Jennifer has created. He was sweet, caring, has an ego the size of the sun, cocky but also very understanding and patient. He has the right amount of Daemon, Aiden and Seth in him. Plus, he has a pet tortoise. Which is just so freaking cute!! The secondary characters too were never dull and never left in the shadow. Jacob and Brit are fantastic friends and I can't count how many times Jacob made me laugh so hard with all his antics and gay terms.
Another thing that made this book even more enjoyable - the great build-up and anticipation between the two main characters. I was so used to having the characters jump right into being in lust before building up any concrete relationship in most NA books I've read. Although I enjoyed some steamy stuff here and there, a good relationship build-up before anything else doesn't really hurt. And isn't it much better if everything is bottled up first and when the time comes it would just explode into so much awesomeness? Haha! I just loved how Avery and Cam's relationship developed from being schoolmates to neighbors to friends and then to lovers.
And yes, I almost forgot! The banters and the dialogues are the best! It drove me insane but also had me laughing out so loud. Seriously, do not read this late at night, it's very hard to stiffle laughter and this book definitely wouldn't let you sleep!
Overall, this was very fantastic read. The plot may not be unique or original but the characters are definitely one hell of a lot of fun to read! I had so much fun reading this! I highly recommend this. Read this now!
And here's something for you guys that might encourage you to read this book:
I was gripping the door until my knuckles ached. “That’s… um, your tortoise?” “Yeah.” A half grin appeared as he lifted the little guy. “Raphael meet Avery.” Giving the tortoise a little wave, I kind of felt stupid afterward for doing so. It just stuck its head back in its green and brown shell. “That’s a very interesting pet.” “And those are very interesting shorts.” His gaze dropped. “What are they?” Leaning forward his eyes narrowed, and I stiffened. “Pizza slices?” Heat swamped my cheeks. “They’re ice cream cones.” “Huh. I like them.” Straightening, his gaze drifted up me slowly, leaving an unfamiliar wake of heat behind. “A lot.” I immediately let go of the door and crossed my arms over my chest. The corner of his lips tipped up. My eyes narrowed. “Thanks. That means a lot to me.” “It should. They have my seal of approval.” He bit down on his lower lip as his lashes lifted. Those eyes pierced mine. “I need to get Raphael back in his little habitat before he pees on my hand, which he’s bound to do, and that sucks.”
