Finally finished this book! I can't believe I let weeks pass not reading this. OTL. Anyway, I love it! It is sooo unpredictable that it would force you to keep reading until your eyelids can't take it anymore. LOL. And the ending was seriously OHMAYGAHD! I mean the epilogue, I thought everything is going to be fine and the Gladers will be fighting Wicked, but then that's just another plan of the Wicked. Its kind of a brutal cliffhanger. I started right away to Scorch Trials after finishing it. Haha. I highly recommend this one. A good read indeed. :)))(less)

This is one sweet, lovely, urban-fantasy story to read. A modern re-telling of Beauty and The Beast set up in one of the most beautiful city in the world. :)) The writing is good and the pacing is easy and fast. The characters are adorable and I love how everything developed. Had so much fun reading this book. I recommend this to everyone! ^^

This is the first Holly Black's book I ever read and I so love it. I have this weird weakness with male's POV. Haha. So yeah, this one totally got me. The concept was cool and unique, it was a little confusing (and a bit boring) during the first parts but as I moved on with the story, more twists and revelations came and I found everything really awesome and cool. Cassel Sharpe is the protagonist and the narrator of the story. He wasn't describe as the good-looking, gorgeous, stunning kind of hero. But even so, once you read his perspective and the way he handle things and think, oh god, you'll definitely love him. You'll find him hot and cool at the same time. LOL. ^^
An awesome read. One of my favorites and book's-i'm-obsessed-with. Hahaha! I recommend this to everyone! ^^(less)

This I love more than the first book. Its fantastic, outstanding, dark, and awesome! I got totally swooning over Cassel. LOL. I can't stop reading this. When I last checked the time it was already 3 am and my eyes were actually pleading me to stop and take a sleep already, but part of really just can't stop. But after 30 minutes my eyes finally gave up. LOL.
This book made me seriously curious, excited, worried, happy and swooning. The ending left me craving for the next book despite of it not being a cliffhanger. Definitely one of the coolest books I've read! Read this! ^^
And yeah, watch out for Jace Wayland's cameo role here. LOL. Seriously left me laughing! XD(less)

Oh boy, I gave this book a 5-star rating but it's like I don't have anything to say! Ha! -- the rating speaks it all! lol! Alright, alright. I'll try to say as much as I can...
First of all, I'd like to say that I found this series really wonderful and unique. The world-building was awesome, the characters were charming and fantastic, the twist and mysteries were impressive and clever - with those all I can say is that I loved every bit of it. I am a little sad to part ways with this series and I would definitely miss Cassel, Lila, Sam, Daneca and Barron! But I am also very satisfied and happy to see the conclusion of this story.
For some reason I feel like I've been with them for real and experienced too all those crazy things and stuffs and it was just relieving, you know, to see these characters, especially Cassel and Lila, to finally have things their way. Cassel's struggling with issues with his family, friends, love life and himself was poignant and I found myself repeatedly saying "Oh, Cassel" and I just wanna hug him. His voice was very endearing and it wouldn't help you but relate to him.
The love story definitely had me. It was sweet or rather I say, cute? lol! I don't know, I just love how it was wrapped up. It wasn't overly mushy and sappy but it was definitely swooning. It was great and I'm glad they can finally be together.
The ending was absolutely great. I love how Holly Black ended it in a way that was a bit open, she didn't pointedly tell who's bad and who's good and that leaves the reader to think which Cassel is. But what I guess, the story was telling was it's all about figuring oneself and making the right choices. It's not really whether you're bad or good but whether you're choosing the thing that would make it right for your self.
This is one of the series that will always remain in my heart. I highly recommend this series!

Took me a long time to finish this one ( I was in a three-day vacation and wasn't able to read anything and believe me, I was suddenly so excited to get back home because I remembered I had to read this one. LOL)
Anyway, its amazing and wonderful, really. The way James Dashner wrote it, it was really awesome and effective. I get so affected with the turn out of events, I mean like when things are really getting complicated it frustrates me like I wanted to jump in the story and help them. LOL. And also when he give clues, my god, its so little it leaves me seriously crazy and frustrated just as much as the characters in the story are. I craved for more information that lead me to read it nonstop. And I can't believe I hated Teresa for a little while, I wanted to trust her but it was so convincing that I really almost believe she's the bad one. OTL. And then I kinda hated Thomas for not being able to forgive Teresa easily, even though she did it for him. I know I should be able to understand him, but I kind of having a bad feeling that he might not end up with Teresa. OTL. I almost threw my phone (I was reading using my phone)when he said he suddenly missed Brenda! >:/ I don't wanna hate Brenda, but... she's kind of a threat! I want Thomas and Teresa! I can't let her get in the way. And lastly, the ending. A cliffhanger, again. James did it again! It was kind of brutal for me. <:/ I need the third book now. One more month to wait.
SEE? I'M KINDA OVERREACTING, SERIOUSLY. BUT ITS JUST REALLY AMAZING I NEED TO TAKE THIS OUT. LOL. ANYHOO, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GUYS! A REALLY REALLY AWESOME, AMAZING, WONDERFUL READ! :)))(less)

I think I just finished one of the most beautiful stories I'd ever seen. This one seriously got me. The first time I ever cried over a book! :))
Oh God! This book is just really WOW WOW WOW! It is soo beautiful I don't know how I should start this review. Hmmm...so let just say this book really went deep down my heart, the very first [book] to reach it and made me cry. Yup, I never really cried over a book but this one's an exception. Throughout the time I was reading, there are moments I needed to stop, take a deep breath, wipe my tears and let what I just read sink in. I finished this book in a one shot reading. God, I couldn't really stop.
Reading this book in Adam's point of view was really different, seriously very touching. The way he told his stories, his pain, his sadness, his longing, his grief its like he's also putting it on me, making me understand everything he felt. So when he and Mia met I was like 'oh my,what's gonna happen now?'. Hope was rising in me, thinking that yeah, they'll fix this and be together again but also some part of me doesn't want to expect something really good. I was making myself ready of the probability that Adam and Mia will not end up with each other. So when Mia told Adam that she hates him, it was heart breaking, but somehow I sort of accepted it, that maybe the whole point of this book is that though it might not end well between them there's this great lesson they would learn that would greatly change their lives. But I was wrong! Coz it wasn't like that. Mia wanted everything to be understood by Adam. How the accident has greatly affected her, and how she was able to survive it. Finally Adam understands why Mia left him, why she made that decision. And yes, they got back together again.
I love how Gayle Forman wrapped up the story. The way he concluded the story. It wasn't like the oh-so-happy ending most people would want but it was something simple and really beautiful. Really beautiful. (less)

I would just simply say this book is perfect. No more of those nuclear bombs of adjectives describing how great the book is, just simply perfect. Reading a final book of a series has always made me feel a little anxious, well of course I do get excited and giddy too, but there would always be the feeling that I might not get satisfied in the end, and surely its effects on me will be devastating. But thank goodness, Julie Kagawa knows how to make a proper ending, especially for such a great series.
While reading this book, I was like 'Oh god, Julie, how are you even able do this?' I was completely awe and amazed. There's something in her writing which always caught me, that always made me so much drawn to the story. Her imagination is just wow! By the way she wrapped this up, it left me very well contented and satisfied.
In this book, Ash and Puck traveled to find a way for Ash to be with Meghan in the Iron Realm. As they goes through their journey, they faced great physical, mental and emotional challenges, met companions they never thought would be coming and found realization within themselves.
One great thing about this book is I get to see Ash's side. His thoughts, his past, his wavering and vulnerable side. I was able to learn more of him here, see what he really was. I saw how he faced everything, how his thoughts dithered and faltered at times, how he hesitated with his decisions, how he took all those realizations. And also how he had overcome them.
The Ash and Puck team-up was also one of the high points of this book. Though there had always been tension between the two because of what had happened in the past, both had come into civil terms in this part of the series. I saw how their relationship was in the past and how the challenges and unexpected twist they faced through their journey affected it. Though, basically this is Ash's story, Puck really did shine in this book. And I think I saw a mending relationship in here. :))
The last part was in Meghan's point of view (Is this a spoiler? Haha!), oh well, I won't be saying anything but yeah, definitely this is a good part. I found myself on my way to the last part wishing that I could read the ending in Meghan's POV, and *tadaa!* Kagawa did it! Yay! The ending was ---:))!
And yeah, one more thing, I was so so touched, moved, awed, amazed on how Ash had fallen in love with Meghan. After knowing almost everything about him, from what he was and what he did in the past, it was kind of Wow! To think that this guy, this kind of guy fell in love with a girl and now he would definitely do anything and give up everything just to be with her. That was just really WOW! :)) (Yeah, wow. I can't find a word to describe it. Haha!)
This series will always remain in my heart! I will forever treasure this story. Thank you Julie Kagawa for creating such magic, I was totally devoured by your world.

Soooo...after two years of waiting (I added this in my GR shelf on 2011! Didn't realize it was that long!), I was finally able to read another stunning novel from Gayle Forman. And as ever, she did not disappoint and again, didn't fail to make me cry.
Whatever I'm going to say on this review, I know have already been said by many others, but I'm still going to say them anyway. Gayle's writing is definitely one of the most commendable one I'd ever read. It flows with so much knowledge, experience and understanding. Reading her stories, it seeps you in. You feel and cry and learn and grow together with her characters. It makes you feel exactly what it should be felt. So in the end, you actually felt this quiet kind of fulfillment.
What I really like with Willem and Lulu's story was how natural it actually felt. How they met and clicked and understand each other, for the one day that they traveled together, the development felt gradual and slow. It was so genuine that you forgot they just literally met. Pulling off a 24-hour romantic development like this is not an easy feat, I've read some that totally felt forced and unrealistic. So it was amazing how Forman presented this story.
Although the romance plays a very big part on this story it was the self-discovery that I appreciated most. The things they learned about themselves upon meeting each other and meeting a lot of different people as well; the mistakes and then the learning and understanding. I was touched and moved by Willem and his mom's relationship; with how Allison finally stood up and chose and made decisions for herself; I love how they soon associate they're one day meeting, though ended in quite a bad way, to something that opened up possibilities and things they hadn't realize they want for their selves.
The traveling part is something I enjoyed as well! My inner wander-lustful self totally rejoiced with all the places they went to. And I'm sure to try out some macarons when (not if) I go to Paris! Haha!
The only thing that I think I can fault in this duology is that I want more! Haha. I thought the second book will pick up where the first book left off but while the first book was about them meeting and most about Allison the second one is clearly about Willem and how he handled and realized things after that day in Paris. It was a great ride getting on to his perspective but of course, I wouldn't mind getting more sweet scenes between the two especially after a year!
Overall, this is one such amazing story of love and self-discovery. Gayle Forman really did a brilliant job on this one. I highly recommend this.

Okay. This was the first time I read a merman/mermaid novel. When I started this I didn't have any idea on what to expect here. I even thought it would be a struggle read but no, it was actually an easy and fast-paced read. Lies Beneath was really an interesting and entertaining read. Not to mention that this is narrated in a male pov which I'm a sucker for! It wasn't perfect but the story and the characters were very appealing, there's just something in it that would make you want to know what's gonna happen next and continue reading it. And surprisingly I did enjoy this book. ^^
The characters were fairly interesting especially Calder. I liked that he tried to make his own decisions and actions and not let himself be totally influenced by his sisters. I love that most of his humanity had remained even after being turned into a merman and grew up with them. Lily was a good character, she's smart and open-minded. Although her character didn't strike me that much and I wasn't that connected with her. I found myself on some parts wishing that I could also read her pov to understand her character better. So I was glad when I learned that the second book will be in her pov. Calder's sisters, Tallulah, Pavati, and Marisa were very good villains and really evil mermaids - something I really liked about this book.
Overall, Lies Beneath was a fascinating and interesting read. The authors's evil mermaid/merman concept had me definitely liking this story more. I'm definitely looking forward for more! :)) (less)

This book is so much FUN! I love love love everything but most especially Samhain Corvus LaCroix! I tell you, I'm in love with this guy yeah, like I don't feel like that with most of the heroes I met. XD. Its like I met the guy version of Sophie Mercer (Hex Hall)! This dude made me all laughing from the first page to the last and even on worst situations. While this book offered lots of good humor it also gave a very good side of dark and paranormal stuffs.
I love reading books with male protags but I tend to be really picky about them. But when I heard that this gave off the same aura as White Cat, which is one of my favorite series with male lead, it definitely caught my interest. I'm not sure about it though when I started reading it but when Sam started using his smart-mouth, oh boy, I realized I gonna love it big time.
Sam's character is very appealing and admirable. I like how he talk about things and handle stuff, he knows who he is. Oh wait, no. He didn't know he's a necromancer before - more like he's honest about himself. He acts with no pretense and admits things he's capable of and what he's not. And most of all, he's smart-mouthed. His snide comments and witty comebacks had me all laughing out loud. His relationship with his friends - Ramon, Frank and Brooke - was also really adorable and funny. I love how much he cares for his love ones.
This is the book where you're gonna love almost all the characters in it. You'll definitely take notice with everyone even if they don't share much exposure. Ramon and Frank were loyal and very reliable friends. Brooke, I adore her so much! She's funny and definitely a strong character. Bridin, I thought when Sam met her she'll intimidate him but she didn't. She's actually sweet and very supportive but also a tough and brave character. Then Ashley too! I just really love that girl! Even the villain here, Douglas, is an interesting character.
The paranormal stuff is very entertaining and intriguing. I love the idea of hybrids, the were-hounds, the hybrid between werewolves and fey. I also think that what made Sam powerful is because he's also a hybrid between a witch and a necromancer. I'd love to discover more of these paranormal creatures and to see Sam's abilities develop on the next book. Oh yeah, and I'd like to see what's gonna happen between him and Brid! ^^
I highly recommend this book! This is a humorous and very enjoyable read with an interesting and amusing paranormal plot. I really had so much fun reading this! :))

Actually it was pretty identical but for someone who's just looking for some sweet story with enough depth to read I think this could definitely work out for them. It wasn't that bad but since it was like I've read this story before it didn't really strike me anything. Sure, there were moments that I actually enjoyed, I just wished that it had offered something much more different and remembering. Some reactions from the other characters kinda put me off like the heroine's mom when she finds out who her daughter was dating. Of all people, she should understand them given her profession. It was kinda infuriating actually and a what-the-f* moment. The ending kinda weird-ed me out too. It was suddenly cut dead end, and in a worst scenario and then it was suddenly epilogue and it was happily ever after. I wish the author had explored the last parts some more. Nonetheless, despite the negative I've said it wasn't really that of a bad read. It was a fairly good and entertaining read.

After reading the blurb I thought it was a heavy read. Because, you see, it involves some devastating and depressing incidents. But surprisingly it was not, in fact it was actually a pretty light read but with great in depth lessons. I was touched and moved by this story and although I think I get a bit teary-eyed on some parts it wasn't really a depressing story.
Jake's story was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. And I couldn't help but be impressed by this boy and by the way he faced and accepted his situation. Jake didn't let himself be overcome by self-pity even when I know it was hurting him really bad. I was waiting for him to breakdown and cry and get angry over his loss but he never did and I was really touched by it I think I teared up a little.
Sam was a really strong character. I didn't like her right away and how she reacted on some stuffs on the earlier parts but when I learned her story I finally like and understand her. Through her Jake was able to realized that he has a lot to be happy about despite not being able to speak. I really love how Jake and Sam were able to find and save each other.
The love story was sweet and very touching. I did find some bits of it a little corny and some dramas had me saying 'ohkaaaay' but sill the message and lessons the author wanted the reader to see was very well conveyed. It was beautiful and poignant. There are so many things in this world we should be grateful about and shouldn't be taken for granted, that there are a lot worse out there that we couldn't even imagine but we have to see the good things we have even the simplest things.
Overall, this was a very heartwarming and touching book that teaches great and wonderful lessons. I really enjoyed it and I love to recommend this to you guys! :))

I was so surprised by how much I enjoyed this more than Slammed. I didn't read this right away after I finished Slammed because when I read the blurb I thought it would be more dramatic and frustrating. But boy, was I wrong! Because it was actually a hell lot of fun! Although, yes, there were those stressing and dramatic parts, but I also did get a lot of laughs in this one. Which I wasn't really expecting at all. I was really glad I didn't put off this book for a long while. I butterflying enjoyed it!
Reading this in Will's POV made us see his and Lake's relationship in a different angle. Which was also a big treat since I love guy's pov and it's freaking Will! I was happy and greatly entertained to get on his mind and see a lot of different sides of him. His journal entries were one of my favorite parts of this book, it was sweet and funny. Also, I really enjoyed seeing him slipped away a little from his control and restrains especially when it comes to Lake.
And just as any other relationships, theirs came with obstacles and hindrances they must overcome. Although I did get so stressed out and frustrated by it I understand that what had happened had contributed a lot for the development of their relationship. I'm not entirely happy with Lake's reaction but once she finally explained it I realized that what they were going through was necessary for them to grew and understand their relationship even deeper and to proved that their love wasn't just brought because of their same tragic situation.
And just like in Slammed, Will never failed to mesmerized me by his poetry. I wasn't just touched, I f*cking butterflying fell in love. I can't even tell you how much I loved that slam poetry he did to prove his love to Lake without gushing! I loved loved loved it to the highest level! Other things I enjoyed so much in this book was Kiersten! She could be my new freaking best friend. I adore this girl and I laughed so hard with her humor and wittiness. And that poetry she pulled off on the last part, I can line that up on my most favorite poems I read from this story! Yeah, Butterfly You! LOL! Kel and Caulder still managed to entertain me and touched me. They were just the cutest baby brothers ever! Can I have them?
This book definitely captivated me! I laughed, swoon, loved and teared up a bit! Colleen Hoover did another great job and I'm so happy to be able to read this wonderful story! I had so much fun reading this and I recommend this. :)
