The first dystopian book I'd ever read. Absolutely incredible. One of the best. The story did remind me of Battle Royale, but whatever. They are different. This book gave me a lot of emotions while reading it. Some people may say that this is too violent or brutal or disturbing but I think this book had clearly showed the importance of love, life, and freedom. You can learn a lot from this book. This is magnificent read. Read this! :)) (less)

Since I got hooked up with the Hunger Games, dystopian novels had come really close to my heart. So when I saw this from a book blog, saying that if you're a fan of THG this is a good book for you, I read it right away. And well, it was true. It was indeed an awesome book.
When I started reading this it did remind me of THG. But I didn't really compare it because though they have some similarities they still have their own unique ideas and style.
In this world, the society had been divided into 5 different factions, factions based on peoples values: Candor for honesty, Amity for kindness, Dauntless for bravery, Erudite for intelligence and Abnegation for selflessness. When Tris turned 16 she has to choose which faction she will be. And much to her surprise she chose Dauntless. Making her leave her family and learn a total different things and values, face challenges, and keep and discover secrets that might put her in mortal danger.
Tris is a strong, fierce, independent, but still lovely character. She knows how different she is to her family, though she had lived her life of 16 years being Abnegation she knows deep inside her she is far being like that. I love how she face her challenges and how she learned and realize things from it and through meeting other people from different factions. She's the kind of heroine who is really fun and exciting, a kick-ass one. And then Four! *swoons* Oh well, you would just really love everything about him. (Yay, so much for the fangirling.) Anyway, he's mysterious but has a really good character. I love how he cared for Tris, how he handled the training and a lot of complicated situations, how he observed Tris, how straight forward he confessed to her,(I can really go on with the list. LOL.) and how he showed her his vulnerable side - his four weaknesses. Will and Christina, Tris's friends are really funny and nice you'll like them instantly. And also Tris's mom, who is very much understanding, caring, brave and strong.
Veronica Roth did a great job creating such an interesting and unique world and cool characters. I recommend this to everyone, especially those who love dystopia. Definitely an awesome read! ^^

A dystopian one, a world where people see Love as a disease and everybody has to have the cure from it. Seriously bizarre but interesting. Until the first half of the novel, I felt a bit frustrated and disturbed on how people in that world view love and life (seriously, I get so affected, its like I imagine myself there and explaining them what really love is. OTL) and how long before Lena woke up and realize what’s really wrong in her world. The last part was like OHMYGOD! That’s the part where I feel really nervous and excited, wondering if Lena and Alex will make it to the fence, but I think I almost cried in that part. I can so much imagine the scene where Lena was able to make it on the other side of the fence but not Alex. And she saw Alex on the other side looking at her, just looking straight at her and she realize that there are blood all over Alex’s shirt, and police officers are coming but he didn’t run and only mouthed Lena to run. And that’s it, I just love how she describe what sacrifice is in that scene. It’s open-ended so obviously there will be a second book. And I’m very much curious on what’s gonna happen next. I recommend this one guys, you should read this! A good one!(less)

I just totally love this one! So in this world, people start to live really short, with a life span of 20 years for girls and 25 years for boys. Rhine, the heroine in the story was kidnapped along with other girls to be sold to House Governors to make them their wives, and of course to bear them children. She was force into a polygamous marriage to Linden Ashby, despite Linden’s genuine love for her and being the first wife she still plans to escape and look for her twin brother with the help of Gabriel, an attendant she is going dangerously attracted to.
I like Rhine and how she thinks about things, she’s smart, brave and seriously charming. I can see a little bit of Katniss in her. Though it is obviously implied that Gabriel is her hero, on the second half of the novel there is so little scenes of them together that I started to think that she might already really falling in love with Linden and forgetting the plan to escape with Gabriel, but thank God, in the end she sticks to her plan, and of course with Gabriel. Apparently the story is not yet finish, I think there are still more to come and I’m already longing for the second book. Another one added on my growing to-wait lists of novels. I highly recommend this one! :)) (less)

Honestly, I love this more than the Mortal Instruments. They are both great but this one has some kind of a unique appeal on me. Or maybe I just really love Victorian era London. Haha. But first of all, can I just thank Cassandra Clare for writing this incredibly awesome book. And for making me so happy. Dude, Cassie's just really genius. This is really wonderful. The settings, the plot, the characters. The twists are cool and whenever I figured out some connections from TMI I just felt completely awed.
And yeah, I ship Tessa and Will really hard. Even though what he did to Tessa on the last part was really rude and heart aching. Jem is good and I do love the guy too and I think Tessa really does deserves someone like him. Its just that I think Tessa is exactly what Will needed. And I really don't think Will mean everything he said on the attic. Will is physically strong but he's really emotionally weak. And I think being weak emotionally is way more self-destructive than being physically weak. Not that I don't sympathize with Jem's condition. But I think I understand Will. The guy loves Tessa and he really does cares for her, there's just something holding him back. I don't think that Will is really a rude, emotionless guy and I don't want to judge him yet. There's still a lot of things we needed to learn more about him. I hope the Clockwork Prince will answer tons of questions I had after reading this. ^^
This is a great book. I highly recommend this. A must read! :))

If you want a paranormal book without the vampires, werewolves, nephilims, angels, faeries, witches, etc and a really spooky one, well, this is the best book for you.
I enjoyed this book so much. The concept was unique, cool, and creepy. And the mysteries made me really think and wonder a lot. The characters were great. Violet's unique ability was one of a kind, its cool but also really scary at the same time. Jay's an adorable and admirable character. I love how he had been protective and supportive to Violet. The writing was also really good. The creepy and spooky parts are very well written, you would really get thrilled.

Finally finished this book! I can't believe I let weeks pass not reading this. OTL. Anyway, I love it! It is sooo unpredictable that it would force you to keep reading until your eyelids can't take it anymore. LOL. And the ending was seriously OHMAYGAHD! I mean the epilogue, I thought everything is going to be fine and the Gladers will be fighting Wicked, but then that's just another plan of the Wicked. Its kind of a brutal cliffhanger. I started right away to Scorch Trials after finishing it. Haha. I highly recommend this one. A good read indeed. :)))(less)

First page and I was already completely devoured. First page and I was already smiling and feeling so giddy knowing I'll be seeing a totally awesome story. First page and I had fallen already in love with this book.
Shatter Me went beyond my expectation and surely did surprise me a lot. I was stunned the first time I saw the book trailer and I was more stunned when I started reading and saw the first line. I was so flabbergasted on how incredibly astounding and fascinating this book is! I was consumed and captivated by Tahereh Mafi's brilliant writing. It was very unique, exceptionally wonderful, and utterly original. I loved how imaginative she formed words into sentences and phrases to convey Juliette's thoughts and feelings. It was really mesmerizing that it effortlessly earned a lot of love from me.
This novel is packed with so much exciting twists and surprises, thrilling action and totally swooning romance. I adore Juliette. I see how strong and beautiful her character was even with all those things that were done to her. Yes, sometimes she is so willing to give up, thinks she's a monster and deserves to die but that's because her heart is clean. She doesn't want to do horrible things. She thinks she rather die than to shatter her dignity and ruin someone else lives. She wanted to be loved, to be accepted, to be touched by someone and to touch someone yet she doesn't know if it would ever come to her because of what her touch can do. Until Adam.
Adam is a very wonderful character. He's one of those swoon-worthy characters I would love to see! He's gorgeous and strong but definitely loyal and caring. I love how he and Juliette connected. I was worried and confused just like Juliette during the first parts as to what Adam's real purpose is. But once it was finally revealed I was...I was so so happy and relieved. There are so many wonderful moments between them that I can't help but smile and swoon and smile and swoon and smile and swooooooooon while reading it. I also love the the snippets of the past that made the characters well developed.
Tahereh Mafi did a great job by giving all characters their highlights even with not so many exposures and you'll still find yourself liking them. Though in case of Warner's character, I did hate him a lot. He's cold, manipulative, seeks power, and pure evil. However he was also having issues from himself, secrets about his family, his mother. And I kind of understands the causes of his actions. In the end I actually felt sorry for him. Aside from Juliette and Adam, James and Kenji and Castle are my favorite characters. James is Adam's younger brother. He is so adorable. I like him the first time he appeared (Though I think it was a bit wrong timing at that time. If you read this you'll know what I mean. LOL.) Kenji is really funny and I love how he and Adam fights and banters. I didn't really trust him the first time he appeared but in the end I was really surprised with the revelations and realized that I do like this guy not to mention he's also good looking! And yes! Castle, I feel that his purpose and compassion were very genuine that when he explained everything I felt so reassured.
Everything in the end was so so interesting and exciting and fascinating! I wasn't even expecting that. The last part left me so excited that I am tremendously craving for the next book! Seriously, I need more more moooore! Book 2 hurry up! This book is flat-out gorgeous and downright awesome! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this! Read this!
