It was cute, fun, and fluffy as a kitten but at times it was a bit annoying as well. Lincoln was my biggest problem. He just was so weird. Who really pines over an ex, even a first love for that long? I can understand Beth being a bit leery of him after finding out he had been reading all of her personal emails to her friend Jennifer. Although it was his job it still sounded a bit stalkerish...
Even pretty much sure of how the story was going to end I still found it a bit rushed and quickly tied up? I can't really elaborate much on that without a spoiler but to me it just sort of fizzled at the end.
Don't misunderstand me I really liked the story and could pretty much relate to most of it except for poor Lincoln. He was just a hot mess. It was my first Rainbow Rowell story and I am looking forward to reading her other books....more

They are quick and fast reads so it wont take you long to get caught up.
The story has gotten better and better in each book and now we have made it to another cresendo as we go into Good Intentions. We left off with Katie being asked by Wes "What have you done?" Yep Wes is back and although Katie can't decide if his motives are pure she begins having doubts where Josh is concerned "FINALLY".
I still find Katie infuriating but she has "grown" a bit throuhout the series or at least has started having a better thought process. She has began questioning her decisons and why she felt certain ways so I have to give her that at least.
I really loved this series, after I got past Katie being so childish, but must say the last book, Good Intentions, was my favorite of the three. I enjoy how everything came together at the end. Was on pins and needles a few times as it seemed things were not going to go as I had hoped but everything worked out for the best.
I'm not sure if this is the final book or not as there was no cliff hanger at the end like the first two but there is certainly room for more action should the author decide to continue it. I would enjoy reading more for sure but if not I am totally satisfied with the ending....more

Maybe she was pushed over by fear or perhaps a hungry need to understand more but either way we get a more indepth look at Hell, Lucifer, and a bigger picture of how things work in Hell.
Wes isn't in this part...it's pretty much Josh and Katie's story. Josh shows Katie the ropes and it seems they fall deeper and deeper for each other. Josh seems more "good" in part two and although I do soften up towards him I still know he is a demon and that no good can come from this but Katie learns something about herself and we begin to understand why it is so easy for her to take a liking to the evil side.
Katie isn't as whiny here as in book one...she is actually a bit more aggressive and head strong but boy is she ever still as naive as ever!
As we're left with another cliffhanger I find myself enjoying and settling into the story better. Can't wait to see how all this plays out!...more

I found her to be very whiny and childish. I mean she supposed to be a "senior" in high school but to me comes off acting more like a grade school student.
I really felt like she maybe was a senior in body but had the mind of a child because she supposedly has had a crush on Wes for many years but most girls I know don't even begin liking guys all that well until early high school. Even still who in their right mind is going to pine away for one person for so long knowing they don't feel the same way when there is so many other "fish in the sea"? I mean seriously why keep setting yourself up for the disappointment?
But with that being said, that doesn't mean run out and hook up with the first guy that "DOES" pay you some attention ESPECIALLY if you find out he is a demon! I can understand Katie's attraction to Josh...he comes in a pretty package and appears to be putting her needs first but undoubtedly nobody has ever told Katie to beware of wolves in sheep clothing?
I'm not really super liking any of the characters at this point. Katie as I said is so naive that at times I wanna smack her, Wes is a bit too secretive and comes off acting holier than thou and Josh is a sneaky booger but the story is really fast paced and demonstrates how easily evil can look good and vice versa.
Katie is really having a tough time deciding which side she wants to be on because they both have good and bad points. We're left with a good cliffhanger and I feel like things will heat up better in book two....more

I found that kind of harsh and made me feel like they were no better off than the teknoids in the story no matter if they were pampered where they wound up. I don't see where being a birthing cow would be any cool career. What if the female refused? How can you make a female have a baby and not get to decide if she wishes to keep it herself?
Another mishap is I never really could "connect" with Tania until towards the ending because she really came off as sounding more like a teenage boy than a young girl. It thru me off and kept the story from flowing as well as it should have.
As I mentioned about some holes in the story there were also some places that I could have done without...like all the musical jibber jabber. I mean I get she was in a band and they played gigs but I didn't care to know about the beats, cues, and ect...
There were times I wanted to just put the book down and leave it be but if at all possible I hate to DNF a book so I trudged on and while it did pick up towards the end and tie up and explain a few things I still couldn't give it more than a 3-star rating. With that being said I still look forward to more works by Mr. Powell....more

It was such a wild twist going to a wedding and waking up married the next morning with not alot of recollection of how it happened.
I fell in love with Will and took a strong liking to Jordyn straightaway as I cheered them on hoping they would realize how in love they both were even though neither could see it at the time. Obviously they both would have eventually wound up together but thankfully Fate tossed in her bouquet and made it possible sooner.
Will was such a sweetheart worrying over Jordyn's reputation if they had a quickie annulment. I don't know many men who would have really cared at all so I was endeared to him in the beginning just for that simple thing but he was such a dreamy character..a real down to earth kinda good guy....more

Although I really didn't like Loukas in the beginning because of his agenda after hearing his story I grew to appreciate him and his feelings better. Jessica on the other hand I kinda wanted to smack a few times because even though I could really understand her insecurities I felt like they were childish at times. Alot of hurt could have been avoided had she simply asked Loukas what she wanted to know instead of just always assuming the worst of him.
The chemistry is very apparent between the two main characters and they played equally well against one another. I mean the story wasn't so one sided like many are. This one throughly explained or gave you a general picture of the background between Loukas and Jessica and where they both were coming from....more

I was totally in shock when I realized what her disfigurement was and have never heard of that before. I felt really bad for her because she seems like such a beautiful person in so many ways and all she really wants is the same as everybody else to love somebody and be loved back but everytime she thinks she has found Mr Right once they get into bed the guy freaks out over her situation and leaves her feeling sad and depressed to the point that she has almost given up on finding her soul mate.
This is a wonderful story of learning to love yourself no matter what other's think. Bottom line is you got to love yourself and be comfortable with yourself before anybody else can and Duet finds out love was just a heartbeat away....more

How can a mother treat her child like she is a stranger and not want to express any love for her. But what was even more depressing is that through it all Jacqueline tries to win over her mother's affections and love by basically following in her footsteps. Her father wasn't much better of a role model what with raising her in bars and all but at least he was there for her as best as he could be. Just an emotional story filled with a young girl's loneliness....more

I was really excited to find out they had new covers which are gorgeous and that Lifetime Movie Channel is making them into Lifetime movies! Flowers in the Attic came out on Lifetime sometime last year I think. Don't miss Petals on the Wind Monday May 26th at 9pm Eastern Time on Lifetime!
I was really happy for the kids to escape despite the loss of their loved one. Book one was full of anguish and mistreatments and wrong doings for the Dollanganger children whereas in Petals on the Wind it would seem things are looking up for them if only Cathy would let go of some of her resentment and need for revenge.
I felt so bad for the kids in book one but here Cathy pure makes me sick. Her desire for revenge against her mother is holding them all back to a certain extent of taking advantage of the good fortune that has befallen them. Her use of sex to get what she wants is disgusting and I really don't feel much pity or anything for her at this point.
There was also a great deal of death in Petals on the Wind...one of which I hated so badly. I wasn't really surprised at the way it ended but am anxious to see where it goes from here....more
