I think the romance should have taken a bit longer but then theres always the love at first sight angle...
Berry is a mess. I loved her character so much. She was just a comedy of tragic events waiting to happen and that poor man, Jake happens to get caught right up in the middle of her life of chaos and he falls madly in love with her but it takes Berry some convincing because she has her life headed and planned out just as she wants it and romance is not included in that!
I don't think I want Berry delivering any pizza's to me! LOL(less)

What can I say that has not already been said except HOT HOT HOT! I rarely read aloud my books to my hubby because he don't like my "girly books" as he says but I read aloud some of this one and I swear he was salivating so that says alot about this book! You Go Cat! and HELLLLLOOOOOO Bones! I Love You! LOL(less)

It broke Cat's heart to have to leave Bones high and dry in Halfway to the Grave to become a secret government agent fighting for the lives taken by ruthless vampires but it was the only way to save him or so she thought. I hated that Cat started dating a new man in this book but I knew he could never take Bones place NEVER I tell you because Bones is a hard act to follow! Bones is my freaking hero and he is so in love with Cat it's pitiful.
There's alot of action here and I was flying thru the pages as the secrets literally bled there way thru. Had quite a few mouth dropping moments but what do you expect with Cat and Bones other than that?
One of my favorite quotes from One Foot in the Grave was when Bones left his ex-girl in the apartment with Cat and they got into a cat fight...yes pun intended! "I am going to knock the slut out of you, Annette," I gritted between clenched teeth. "And that should take some doing, you uppity English tramp!"(less)

The story had an interesting opening with Connor rescuing Alex when she fainted. I felt she was rather abrupt with him and didn't really like her for being so short with somebody who was only trying to help but I assume she was just embarrased. He insists on taking her for tea and discovers that she is pregnant, the father is nowhere around, and she is pretty much homeless and down on her luck but struggling to work in a bar and make a future for her baby. Connor has problems of his own which later causes an impromptu business arrangement that could supposedly solve both their problems.
I enjoyed the fact that this was not another insta-love story because I just don't believe in those. As I said I didn't really care for Alex much but I appreciated her situation and commended her for trying/wanting to help herself and not just sitting around waiting on prince charming to swoop in and take care of everything for her. Connor appears to be a really charming hard working guy but because of that I couldn't believe he had no steady girlfriend? That was just a bit hard to believe because the old saying usually goes "All the good ones are taken". LOL(less)

I'm not used to reading about wimpy whiny vampires and that is just how I felt about him. I kept gritting my teeth everytime I read he let the bullies bully him and then poor Meredith...she really really likes Vlad and he likes her but he is just so ignorant and wont even talk to her! I mean if I liked somebody I would at least try to express myself to them a bit to see if the feeling was mutual. He was always kinda sitting on the sidelines in Henry, his best friends shadow and complaining because he was not as popular as his friend and I was like well dude get a grip, jack up them bullies, kiss that girl, and quit your boohooing! Yes thats another thing...I have never heard tell of a guy crying so much in my life and he's supposed to be a vampire which made it just ughh for me.
It was really pretty predictable yet..something kept me reading so I can't say I disliked the entire book. In all honesty I had a hard time putting it down! Maybe I kept waiting on Vlad to get a backbone or to see if he got the girl in the end? It did introduce some interesting characters like Eddie who is determined to expose Vlad and Joss who is Henry's cousin. I do believe the plot is thickening up for book three and I have heard the series only gets better so maybe I will pick up book three and see how it goes before I totally give up on Vlad.(less)

Anyhow...I thought Oliver was bad news but Oh my Gawd Bishop and his cronies have quickly went above and beyond him! Hell he is like a vamp angel next to them! I despised Ysandre ( a female vamp that came with Bishop) more than the lot of them. She instantly took a strong liking to Claire's man Shane and rubbed their noses in it because there was nothing they could do about it without causing ALOT of trouble for themself and their friends and Claire's family who stupidly moved to Morganville to be near Claire. Gives a totally new meaning to that old phrase "Sometimes parents just don't understand!" because I wanted to lay the smackdown on them myself! Here Claire is trying to protect them and they have to play the parent card and wind up in deep doo doo alongside her. As if the poor girl didn't have enough problems!
OK I can't go into much more except to say that a big welcome feast is coming up for Bishop and each vampire must bring a human "date" and wouldn't you know that dang Ysandre demands Shane to be hers and he can't say no or else. There are quite a few eye raising pairs going to the feast but I'm not telling! You'll have to dive in and catch up! So until Book 5 I'm over n out!(less)

The one star actually is for the cute cover. I hate that I didn't like it because the synopsis made it sound soooo good and the cover is really cute but hence this is why one does not supposed to judge a book by it's cover.
One of my biggest pet peeves is the book has NO chapters but instead is divided up into long diary entries...long boring whiny diary entries that I grew sick of before I got into the book 50 pages but still I trudged on and listened to Courtney moan and groan about going away to college, hating her roomate, and sulking because Grant her boyfriend was having a wonderful time at his college without her. Heck I bet he sang Hallelujah on the day she left! (less)

I like reading in bed at night and my hubby had to keep shushing me so he could sleep because it kept me laughing so hard I'd be in tears.
Both the main characters, Patsy and Louise, were plum adorable in older woman fashion, both were pretty much set in their ways but still felt a little something was missing in their lives and they just refused to grow old so gracefully without getting out there just one more time and getting a bit wild, Patsy more so than Louise. LOL
They have been friends since grade school but they soon realize that maybe what they thought they were missing just wasn't worth the price of losing each other.(less)

I did not read the first two books of this series but I just don't feel they would of made much difference on my thoughts of it.
Nothing in it really stood out for me from any of the other zillion paranormal romances I have read nor did I ever connect or feel anything towards any of the characters and that is a must for me to enjoy a story.(less)
