Regine Afton (reminds me of mean girls) was one a part of the Fearsome Fivesome a clique of girls that everyone loved to hate and hated to love. One incident changes everything. On the night of a party at her boyfriends house she goes to get her passed out bff Anna and her bf tries to rape her. She handles the situation the wrong way and tells her "friend" Kara who twists the whole situation around. By Monday all of her friends won't talk to her and she no longer has a bf. Kara spreads a rumor that Regina slept with Annas bf and everyone knows no one crosses Anna. Regina endures mental, physical and emotional abuse from her past friends. Along the way her new allies become the ones she has wronged in the past.
It's weird how Summers can make this character so likable and the reader feel sorry for someone who was just as evil as her four ex bff. Really easy read and again I totally enjoyed it. (less)

It shows how bullying can get out of hand and how rumors can spiral out of control, from the youngest to the oldest - they all get into the act.
I like how the book takes 5 points of views from the people who talked each rumor about Alice and how they all connected to her somehow - from her former best friend Kelsie, the 2nd most popular guy in school to the most popular girl in school Elaine and smartest and quietest guy in school Kurt. We follow how they add to the drama that is Alice Franklins life and how they each cope with the aftermath of the events.
I like how Alice was able to stay strong through it all. It was a well written book, of bullying and how it can affect people and spiral. Fast read, I couldnt put it down until I was done!(less)

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I would have finished it in one sitting, if I could find a quiet place to read in my house. Elizabeth is an old vampire who was cursed wrongly just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We fast forward 350 odd years to the present day and she meets Jordan. Usually Elizabeth would have fun with a boy toy and ditch/ eat them but there's something different about him. They share some romantic and steamy days and nights together. But Elizabeth has other plans with a warlock Lorcan, she wants to use a Limnade(a sea creature of sorts) to help her long serving friend Cecile become immortal. This plan goes wrong, in the process she loses Jordan to the Limnades, Lorcan becomes immortal due to capturing and killing a limnade and hold Elizabeth as his prisoner due to his love for her.
I love that fact that Jordan came back or the story just wouldn't have been the same without him. I think the craziest part of the book was when Elizabeth was killed by the couple who were trying to bring their daughter back. How everything just intersected and related from each storyline was my favorite part.
I definitely have to find how what happens next. Loved what I've read so far.(less)

Such a sad story about a young girl Melinda who grows up to fast. This book touches on incest, prostitution, drugs, sex, rape, crime and love.
It starts with a young girl Melinda who is only 14 when her father starts to rape her, she runs away away and into the life of prostitution. Melinda spends 3 years on the streets before her death. Within this time she learns about the streets and being smart and safe through her new friend Angel. Melinda has a child CeeJay by the age of 17. Melinda continues her downwards spiral into drugs and working to get her next hit. 10 years after her death Angel and CeeJay reunite, they form a bond and together try to heal and learn from each other.
Such a moving story of a young girl forced to grow up. I felt so bad for her and I wondered why her sister never went to look for her. Melinda is such a brave character, I wished her survived for her daughter. One part that got me is when CeeJay met her "father" she called him "grandpa" whcih I thought was really creepy. That dude should just rot in hell. But other than that I demolished this book in one sitting. A good read for everyone.(less)

I like how the book bounces between present situations of the new crush of Clair and her past kisses and problems following every boy she ever kissed from since seconded grade.
Claire learns in her last year of high school the pact she made with her best friend to do something different may have backfires for her. She fights for the new guys attention and after initially losing the battle she gets him but the cost is her best friend. Claire starts to realize that maybe the guy wasn't worth the friendship, she family learns that shes going to the rival school instead of following in the footsteps of her mother and father and her entire family has healed from losing her baby brother after 11 months of life.
I like the book and I ate the story up. Plus I'm a sucker for happy endings and she makes a pact to date her long time best friend Sam after they graduate college. (less)

In paradise valley where the rich and wealthy live. Willa has moved into and is trying to learn how to fit into her new high school. She becomes apart of the clique Glitterati (aka plastics in Mean Girls, but she soons see's that not everyone at Valley prep is living the life some are here on scholarship. These girls who are poor she feels sorry for so she decides to make a pact. She will steal from the rich people who are mean to them to give back to them.
Some parts of the book were boring and I felt like it was predictable but the ending caught me off guard which is the only reason I will continue to read the series. (less)
