THATS IT!? THAT HOW IT ENDS?!!! My exactly words after finishing this series. I can't believe how it ended I have more questions than answers and every reader knows that the worst. The ending never lived up to my expectations or the the first book (sounds like most sequels in the movies). Here's the big spoiler that everyone wants to know : THERE IS NO CURE! Sad by true to the dystopian series....more

I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I woulAHH just when we were getting to the juicy stuff I'm stuck with a clffhanger . . . Rebecca Weeks your killing me!
I thoroughly enjoyed the book, I would have finished it in one sitting, if I could find a quiet place to read in my house. Elizabeth is an old vampire who was cursed wrongly just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We fast forward 350 odd years to the present day and she meets Jordan. Usually Elizabeth would have fun with a boy toy and ditch/ eat them but there's something different about him. They share some romantic and steamy days and nights together. But Elizabeth has other plans with a warlock Lorcan, she wants to use a Limnade(a sea creature of sorts) to help her long serving friend Cecile become immortal. This plan goes wrong, in the process she loses Jordan to the Limnades, Lorcan becomes immortal due to capturing and killing a limnade and hold Elizabeth as his prisoner due to his love for her.
I love that fact that Jordan came back or the story just wouldn't have been the same without him. I think the craziest part of the book was when Elizabeth was killed by the couple who were trying to bring their daughter back. How everything just intersected and related from each storyline was my favorite part.
I definitely have to find how what happens next. Loved what I've read so far....more

Some parts of the book were boring and I felt like it was predictable but the ending caught me off guard which is the only reason I will continue to read the series. ...more

I have been having luck with this genre of book so far this year. Another golden pick here and I must say I was little creeped out reading this at 1am in the morning it felt like i was in Lake Ridge being hunted down. Jaycees best friend is killed in her own room days later she receives a text and a video on her phone of her decrease bff. Jaycee believes there is a lot more to her death. Jaycee starts to look into her death with the help of Eduardo one of the people she was closes to before she died. Her bff has left clues along the way that only Jaycee would notice and understand, as she continues to dig, she becomes the new target of the people who killed her bff. Jaycee also doesn't know who to trust Eduardo the gang banger with a pass or the town's people she's grown up with her whole life.
One of the things that had me constantly banging my head was how gullible and naive Jaycee was. She ability to believe what everyone says was really frustrating. Another thing that I thought that was sad was the segregation between the Mexican migrant workers and the towns people but this is sadly a reflection of reality in some places.
The authors writing through the whole book makes you think you know who the killer was and to suspect every character. I didn't think the killer would be someone so close to Jaycee I was thrown off. One of the last people I expected was the killer and because of this I had to give the book 5 stars because usually mysteries I can figure out pretty early who the guilty person is....more

It's her birthday and she can't remember how she got there and who she was with last night. The rest of the day none of her friends remember her birthday, her bf breaks up with her and to top it off she has some strange marks on her back of three lines moving diagonal. Also Mary keeps seeing weird shadows and visions of a house. Later Mary is surprised by her bf with a surprise party that soon turns scary and deadly. One of the guys brings a guy and is asked to leave the party, which her bff leaves with. Mary soon receives a text from her bff Joon to help her. When Mary arrives at the location Joon is at with her other BFF Amy she realizes this is the place she has been seeing all day in her visions. Someone is out to get Mary but before Mary can figure out who it is she is shot in the head.
Mary wakes up, but as someone else. Scott whom she uses to get homework answers from, she relives the day she dies but from Scotts perspective. She also learns that in Scotts bag she had tape and rope that was used to hang Joon that deadly night. Is Scott the killer?
Mary wakes up as Joon, Dylan, Patrick herself and Ellen (her sister). These people are all apart of a ritual of 7 souls that take part in humiliating, betraying and ridding their life of this person. In this case it's Mary, she learns about how she affected the people she once thought of as close friends and family and how much they truly hate her. To Mary surprise she learns how to be selfless and help the people she has affected most in her life.
The ending is not what you would expect, what happens to Mary started 10 years ago when her father died and their lives changed forever. SPOILER ALERT!!! Ellen is the person that shoots Mary in the head and was also the ring leader for the scheme. ...more

If you were going to die, would you take one with you? This is the question the books asks. Would you leave the world a little safer , make your death have meaning, take someone who escaped the justice system and deserved to die?
We meet Sarah and Charlie who meet online in a chat forum. They had similar childhood, both were misunderstood, depressed and angry so they turn to each other. They start a project called TOWY. Added child molesters, pedofiles and rapists on the website for people to take one with them when they decide to end it all. Soon the website gains lots of attention and becomes out of control. Charlie and Sarah never realized just how much damage they created. How do you justify who you can take? And what happens when you have innocents in the crossfire?
There are many points of views from different chracters. We get POV's from the creators of the website, Towy's themselves and the justice system. I've never read a book like this. As my first crime thriller, I think I shall start reading a bit more in this category. Oak Anderson is an amazing writer and I can't wait for what else he has in store. TOWY was a creative idea for a book concept and I can't say there are many books written that have you guessing as much as this book had. So many twists had you wondering what each character was plotting and how they relate to each other. One of my new favs!...more

There are others who want her dead and will do nothing to stop her such as a powerful witch named Leeda. Leeda has to kill Zared to weaken Angel and take her out. If Angel learns how to fully use and control her powers she can become unstoppable.
I liked this book, it took me a bit of time to get into to it, but once i started I couldn't stop. I was confused at first by her being able to just leave her body and these flash backs of the past and future to come. The cliff ending sucks cause I really want to know who Madoc is now and what will happen with this three way bond. Thumbs up to the sexy scenes full of raw lust and passion - Beautiful writing.

It all starts when he moved to Japan after the car crashed that killed his adopted parents. He meets Ash a 500 year old vampire at a club that tells him there is a vampire named Malik that is hunting him down to kill him. These two work together to solve what is so special about him and why a powerful vampire like Malik wants to get rid of a weak human.
I love Tristan's fast mouth, quick and witty remarks and even funnier thoughts.
Ash had me guessing through half of the book if she was a male or female. She was kick ass and a strong lead with a very interesting past.
Overall I thoroughly enjoyed the book Tristan and Ash are a great team and the banter between the two is just as delightful. ...more

But this has to be one of the best endings ever! I'm also a sucker for those fairy tale endings never the less we finally get what we all wanted to see . . . Rose and Dimitri back together this time for good. I truly have become addicted to this series and I'm sad to say goodbye to all the characters. Lots of twists and adventure on this one with unpredictable scenarios. I just never knew what was going to happen when I turned the page. I can't wait for the spin off. Overall Rose has to be my all time fav character not only was she tough, never a damsel in distress, smart, witty and just straight up a bad ass!
Some of my fav lines from the book:
"Huh," Adrian said, letting himself in, "So that's how you're going to fix the family problem. Little Dragomirs. Good idea."
Dimitri "It's you. You're beautiful. So beautiful, it hurts me."
"His fingers never ceased to amaze me. They could break a man's neck, bandage a would and slide sensually across bare skin."
Sonya tells Rose "I see that synchronicity in auras. I can see the love too. And I see all of that in his aura and in yours."
Dimitri tells Rose at the end of the book "We waste our lives with guilt nand self-loathing. When you looked at me there at the end . . . I saw it. You did love me."
The soul that complemented mine. My match. My equal....more

In a short recap Rose finally has become a guardian, she broke into a high security prison in Alaska, and broke out Victor Daskov, helped bring Dimitri back from being a strigoi who has been imprisoned and framed for killing Queen Tatiana. All of this in one book, boy is that ever a lot of drama for one women.
It all starts from the last book where Rose heard it is possible to change a strigoi back. In order to learn how to do this she has to break out the only person who can give them information on this Victor Daskov. With Lissa and Eddie at her side they break Victor out of jail and head to Vegas to learn more from his half brother. From him they learn a stake has to be charmed with spirit and the strigoi has to be staked by the spirit user. Lissa's practise and training eventually prevails in staking Dimitri bring him back to his former self.
With Dimitri back all Rose wants is to see him and relive the love they once shared but he can't look at her and wants nothing to do with her. He's forever indebt to Lissa for saving him and guilty for what he did as a strigoi especially so to Rose. He goes as far as telling her "Love fades, I dont love you anymore." Though he's eyes betray he's true feelings.
During this time a ruling has occurred that allows the guardian age to be lowered to 16 which to Rose's outrage she confronts the Queen infront of the court and is eventually dragged out saying "i wont let you get away with this" and other Rose like things
the next day Rose has been charged and framed for killing the Queen. Someone has framed her buy using her stake and her past actions against her. Now Rose has one last mission, with a note from the dead Queen she can bring Lissa to her rightful place in the court and among the Moroi royalty.

My pet peeve is when I've started a series and have to wait for the book by then I would have either moved on or forgot what happened in the last 2 books. Sigh In book two the 2 main events are Rose has competition over Dimitri's attention and affection and the possibility of him leaving to protect another moroi. We finally meet Rose's mom and there is a rogue band of strigoi (immortal dead vampires with insane strength) that are killing off royal families one by one the help of humans. We get to see Rose's first killing of strigoi, we see the lost of her friend Mason and a new character is brought in named Adrian ( who is royal and is a spirit user like Lissa)
I really liked this one because we see rose's battle between herself and she learns more about being a guardian and her mother. This one is very emotional and I got caught up in the intense situations. Overall I gave this a 5 and I can't wait to read the next book. ...more
