These are the top three words I would use to describe Radiant Shadows. This was my favourite book of the Wicked Lovely Series by far! A blend of romance, seduction and violence so vivid and beautiful there were many a time when I held my breath, heaved a sigh and even shed a tear. I loved the emotions this story brought to life. Every bit of it was truly like Devlin - Order and discord! Although I have to be honest, the first time Devlin was introduced in the series I didn't care much for him. He seemed a little dull and was very much a secondary character so I was so thrilled and excited to have him grow into something so much more. I fell hopelessly in love with him. He is everything a woman wants ( well, atleast I do ). His logical demeanour makes him seem almost perfect but beneath it all he is dark and dangerous with a sexy smoulder that leaves you wanting more. Ani is such a lovely character! I wished she were real so I could befriend her. Fiesty and so alive. They are both so different yet so alike that I couldn't help rooting for them. Reading each page with such fevour just so I could see if they would make it to the end, together forever. The perfect love story amongst all the chaos. I'll be reading Darkest Mercy next....I cannot wait....more

Rose's Will took me on a beautiful rollercoaster ride of raw human emotion, and I went from smiling one minute, to laughing out loud, and finally sobbing my eyes out. DeSio captures the very essence of dramatic family life and unravels some interesting truths about the family dynamic that most people would prefer to turn a blind eye to. The book is told through three POV's which all centre round Rose D'Orsi, the family matriarch and tyrant. Each character is so well-written and defined that it wasn't difficult connecting with them. Glory, Rose's daughter, whose continued efforts to gain her mother's approval puts more of a strain on their already weakened relationship. Her behaviour, although very much justified, had me at times wondering about her own stubborn intolerance for her mother. Ricky, Glory's younger brother. His loyalty to Rose has left him bitter and self-righteous. He loves his sister very much but, always the one to pick up the pieces, Ricky's disdain for Glory becomes clearer as the book draws to an end. My favorite character was Eli, a soft spoken, compassionate soul, always searching for the good in people. Eli's view of Rose is a full 180 to her childrens'. Rose's feistiness and garish behaviour excited him, and he was very much the yin to her yang. In the end, the story offers a wonderful twist that left a smile on my lips for hours after I had finished reading it. It was a great pleasure reading Rose's Will and I look forward to more amazing stories penned by Denise DeSio. ...more

I loved everything about it, and I couldn't put it down once I had started reading! The story is very unique and even though it has all the makings of YA Paranormal Romance, it was so much more. I loved that the story didn't only revolve around the romance between Pierce and John. Although it had plenty to do with it and in the end it was clear that their love was what was causing all the choas. The story is about Pierce and her struggles as a teenage girl, who has had to suffer through far worse things than the usual highschool drama...for crying out loud the girl DIED, went to the Underworld and then came back to life!! Of course she was bound to be a little messed up after all of that.
There were plenty of subtle twists and turns in the plot, and just when I thought I knew what was going to happen, SURPRISE! I was thrown a curve ball and found myself smiling, with that anixous feeling of excitement growing in my stomach! Wondering, okay...so what's going to happen next!!

I fell right into the story from the very first page and couldn't put it down. It was an electric charge of emotions from the get go and never once did it fail to impress me. The characters are all amazing, so well written and unique. Normally there is at least one character who gets on my nerves, but it was impossible to dislike any of them.
The story starts with Liora, an average teen with a supernatural secret. She shares her body with a demon. She tries her best to conceal this fact, but with great difficulty as the demon is restless and likes to make an appearance once in a while. Liora is an outcast, distancing herself from people because she believes there is no way she can live a happy, normal life.
When night falls, Liora sleeps and Lucky awakens. She is a kick ass demion who takes no prisoners and enjoys tormeting "sapies" (humans) and demons alike, who rightfully deserved to be tormented! I felt her tough exterior was a mask for the tumultuous feelings she keeps hidden inside, and she continually blames Liora for weakening her with those emotions, instead of owning up to them.
Of course, what would a great paranormal romance be without some delicious eye candy!?
Bones, the hot as hell (no pun intended) incubus/hell hound. Lucky's best friend, who would chew off his own arm just to be with her. But his cavorting ways are always in the forefront of Lucky's mind and although she loves him, the thought of sharing him with anyone else is unbearable. But Bones cannot change what he is and what he has to do to survive, which leaves me wondering, can there ever be anything between them?
Then there is Kieron, with his movie star good looks and charm. Kieron steps into the lives of both Liora and Lucky, and he quickly falls for both of them. Even though Kieron lies and keeps secrets, it's really difficult to fault him in anyway. He always makes amends for his actions and besides, everything he does is in Liora/Lucky's best interests.
I really loved this book in every way! The only disappointing thing about it was that it had to end!! I wanted to cry when I got to the last page and realised that was it!! So, naturally, I wasted no time in purchasing Fire with Fire, the second book in the Demonblood series. Although it is still very early in the new year, I have no doubt that the Demonblood series is going to be a strong contender for my favourite series read in the year 2012.

Penelope King has just topped my list of favorite authors!! WOW! I still get chills thinking about this book. For those who read the first book in the Demonblood series, A Demon Made Me Do It, if you haven't read this book, drop everything and do it now!
The much loved characters of book one are back, with the addition of a few new ones. I still can't fault any of them. They are so amazing and well-written. They will stay with you for hours after you have finished reading. Especially Bones!! Super Sexy, Sweet, Smoking Hot Bones!! *sigh* I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for him! :) He can be my Incubus/Hellhound any day!
Penelope King creates such a vivid image of the world/s she has created and it was like a movie played in my head as I read each page. There are even more twists and surprises in this book and never, for even one second, think that you know exactly what is going on. This story is as emotionally charged as book one, and more than once I found myself gasping! There was even a point where my heart felt like it shattered into a million tiny pieces. But there are also those moments that made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :) Like the ending :))))
I had a sneaky suspicion as to how the book was going to end and I rejoiced when I read the last few words (I also burst into tears LOL)!! Brilliant!

White Witch is an exciting tale filled with angst and acceptance, dealing with the everyday issues teenagers face today, while delivering an action-packed story of magic, witchcraft, friendship and love. Jaxina Pherson a.k.a Jax Taylor is on the run from her family, an evil coven of witches. Leaving is the ultimate betrayal, punishable by death. A fact that Jax was made all too aware of when she witnessed her father take her mother's life, years before, when she'd tried to escape.
Wanting nothing but a normal life, Jax runs away to a small town, but with the threat of her coven discovering her wereabouts always in mind. She daren't use her powers as that will leave a signature which will lead them right to her.
Jax soon finds out that her coven is not the only thing to worry about, though. An almost run-in with a Hunter and her life changes forever. Especially when the Hunter turns out to be, Keller Dawes, the gorgeous guy whom she instantly feels an attraction for. Jax's wish to lead a normal life as a teenage girl brings a whole new set or problems as well. Her drop-dead gorgeous looks have every boy in school following her like puppy dogs, and almost every girl hating her for this. She finds an ally in, Toni, Keller's cousin and they become best friends. But Jax isn't so lucky with the Queenbee of Baker Gap High , having stepped on her toes one too many times she finds herself the ridicule of Stacey's jealousy, which quickly stirs the deep, dark emotions, Jax has tried her best to ignore.
Just as Jax starts to settle in to her new existance, a life or death situation forces her to reveal what she really is. Will it make any difference to her friends? And what about Keller? Will his Hunter instinct turn him against her, or will she be able to persuade him otherwise?
The appearance of another deflective witch raises more problems, and when Jax's new friends find themselves face to face with the evil she is evading, does she have the power to save them? Jax's biggest decision comes when she must decide if staying and putting her friends in danger is the right thing to do, or if leaving the only option. I loved the flow of this story. It was filled with so much emotion and at times I felt a spasm in my heart. Each character is wonderful in their own right, and I enjoyed the banter between the girls while getting ready for Homecoming, and the even the relationship between the male characters. It felt very real. Keller is a total hottie, and his sincerity and protectiveness is like a warm blanket on a cold winter's night. The ending leaves the promise of great things to come and I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.
I recommend this book to all lovers of paranormal romances. Although the characters are teens, and the setting is highschool, I believe the story will connect with readers of all ages.

Where book 1 was more YA Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance, book 2 is very much Epic Fantasy combining romance, mystery and mayhem. With thrill a minute action and adventure, and a plethora of endearing characters, it ranks amongst the likes of bestsellers, Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings!
The story begins where book 1 left off. Aurora finds herself in the realm where she truly belongs, and it was exciting to get to know the characters and beings of this realm. I was particularly looking forward to meeting the Draconta. With new and old faces, many of the characters latched onto my heart. I loved the wise but somewhat scatterbrained, Alister. And then there was Zane, who did everything he could to redeem himself but still couldn't find room in Rory's heart, because is was reserved for one person, and one person only...
Fenn *sigh* sweet, sweet Fenn, is back in full force. Along with Lexi, Astral and few other characters from the first book, he aids Rory in finding her way within this strange realm, all the while helping to get her ready for the big battle with Zordon. As the story unfolds more lies and deceit come into play, making the battle to save the dying race all the more dangerous, and the defeat of Zordon all the more imperative. Rory and her friends find themselves falling deeper and deeper into Zordon's twisted game, and the question of who can really be trusted comes to the forefront. Rory relies on her intuition, and stubbornness, to gain the up hand however this only complicates matters and lands her in hot water, more than once.
I really loved the struggles Rory had to face all the way through the story. She didn't just go from being an ordinary girl to a half dragon progeny, who then lived happily ever after. She battled her own personal demons; fighting the darkness within while trying to connect with her dragon half without losing herself. Her constant self-doubt and nose for trouble only added fuel to the fire. But she fought her way through it, showing her courage and determination to see the prophecy to the end.
There were a few gut-wrenching moments, and unfortunately, like every great war, there were a few casualties. A few good men and women who were sacrificed for the greater good. Add to that, the final betrayal of a key character and this made for an exciting and captivating read. I was so sad to see it come to an end. I cannot wait for From the Embers!

From page one it was clear that something wasn't quite right in the town of West Windington, but what ensued was so far from what I'd been expecting and it was amazing! Strangers in blue Toyotas stalking college girls, scary guys in black Broncos killing people, kidnapping, evil minion cops, Vampires and other Underworld characters, soul selling and eternal love. Yup, this book delivers all of this and so much more.
The characters were exciting, each in their own way and so well defined that I almost expected them to walk right off the page and into my life! It would have made my year if the delicious, Hunter, had! *sigh* Donna is one lucky girl! I loved how the multitude of personalities played off each other, even those with hate/hate relationships. I particularly enjoyed Mo, she's a bit crazy but with good intentions. She constantly proved what a great friend she was, even going so far as nearly staking her best friend's boyfriend.
Although the idea of "reincarnation" and eternal love is something I've read about before, the story behind Donna and Hunter's love was unique. Their relationship heated up pretty quickly but it was clear why it was so easy for them to connect, or should that be reconnect? I especially loved the explination Hunter gave Donna about how he re-awakens. It was an awww moment for me and it made their love all the more special. Their relationship felt real and it certainly wasn't one of perfection. It was great to see a female MC stand up for herself against the "man" she loves. She fought back when his anger flared (please don't take that the wrong way, Hunter never abused Donna!!) and never once allowed him to control her, even if it resulted in a brush with death.
This book also had plenty of terrifying characters and situations to balance the romance. Stephen, the evil brother out for revenge. He was wicked through and through and his hate drove him to wreak havoc. He was merciless and determined for history to repeat itself. Although he didn't feature prominently in the book, there was always the sense that he was lurking in the shadows ready to pounce!
So there you have it. Again, let me say WOW!! This book could have easily become predictable or just another Vampire story, but it wasn't. Bonnie Bernard is an amazingly talented writer, and I am delighted to be diving straight into book 2 of this series. The ending held so much excitement and promise for what's to come and I can't wait to see what lies ahead for all involved! ...more

I was so excited to read the story of Amalie and Isaiah, characters I was introduced to in Touching Smoke. Their story is heartbreaking.
The chemistry and love between Amalie and Isaiah developed beautifully. Their feelings were built on friendship and acceptance, blossoming into something more definate as the years passed and as they grew.
Amalie lives a tragic life. Prisoner in her own home, subjected to all kinds of torture by her father, who is hell bent on fixing in her what he believes is broken. It was clear that Garrison was a bit of a nutcase when I first met him in Touching Smoke, but boy oh boy, is a crazed lunatic in this book. He is so blinded by his own ideas and his drive for success, that nothing and no one can make him see that what he is doing is evil.
Amalie is treated like a crazed animal, locked up under heavy guard, never allowed to venture out her room unless Garrison gave the word.
Isaiah was such an endearing character. I loved his mysteriousness in Touching Smoke, but I loved him even more in this book. He will do just about anything he can for the love of his life. But, he too, was blinded by his need to please Garrison, the man who took him off the streets, giving him a better life. It's only when Isaiah witnessed the extent of Garrison's torture that he realised his own mistakes, and he did everything he could to make amends. Which I personally feel he did brilliantly. Find a guy who'll take a needle in the arm for you...not in this lifetime!!
Many of the secondary characters were of the unsavoury kind, but none made my skin crawl as much as Gabriel Tomas. From the minute he entered the story I knew there wasn't something quite right with the situation. He was a real slime ball!
This story is dark and twisted. Filled with tragedy and heart-shattering moments that had me gasping and sobbing throughout. But it also held a bright shining light, one filled with love, hope, devotion, selflessness, courage and heroism.
If I had to sum it up on one word, it would be PERFECTION!...more

From page one this book is a non-stop, thrill ride, with plenty of action and just as much romance. The story is well written with clever twists and turns, and I couldn't put it down. Fallon is a seemingly ordinary teen, with the exception of never settling in one place long enough to have a real life. Although it soon becomes obvious that she isn't normal, in any way, the truth is revealed gradually throughout the book instead of one big info dump, which is fantastic.
Isaiah is the mysterious protector who literally rides into her life. It was like an electric spark went off every time they were near each other and the chemistry and sexual tension was almost tangible. Fallon cannot understand why she is so drawn to him, a complete stranger. She even feels compelled to defy her own mother when it comes to Isaiah. It is only after meeting the mad scientist/doctor, Garrison, that the reality of their situation is uncovered. But I still have my doubts. I still believe that their connection runs deeper than what Garrison told them. Or maybe that’s just hope talking…
It is also at this point in the story that the truth about Amalie, the girl who haunts Fallon’s dreams, is exposed. This truth unravels Fallon’s, as well as Isaiah’s, entire existence. At the same time shattering any notion I had of knowing exactly what was going on in the story, raising a bunch more questions.
I love a story that keeps me guessing, and this one delivered in all the right ways. The characters are exciting and I want to get to know them a whole lot more, so I cannot wait for the rest of the books in the series to be released. ...more

I read it in one sitting, and there were tears aplenty. My heart still aches for the characters, and all the trials and tribulations they had to go through to find and keep their love.
Drew and Fable are two broken souls searching for acceptance and love. Together, they are perfection.
Drew is sweet. A genuine guy who has lived with a horrible secret that sucked the very life from him. He is somewhat reserved, but comes to life when he is with Fable. Throughout this book we get to see many sides of him, some that he himself doesn't even know he has until Fable walks back into his life.
Fable on the other hand is quite outspoken. She's a born fighter, mostly because she was forced to grow up quickly and fend for herself as well as her younger brother. I really enjoyed the times she spent with Owen. It was great to see a character that wasn't so love-struck that she forgot about everyone else around her. When Owen needed her she was there for him. I also loved how Owen stood up for his sister.
The chemistry between the two MCs was off the charts. I want to cry just thinking about how amazing they were together. With smoking hot sex scenes and beautiful intimate moments shared, I couldn't pull my eyes from my Kindle. I loved that their path to love was not a bed of roses. Each day was a personal fight for them to trust, love and believe in each other, because both had their fair share of insecurities.
As I mentioned earlier, I shed more than a few tears reading this book, but I really balled my eyes out at two particular moments, and I believe they deserve a special mention in this review, without giving too much away that is.
The first involves a certain tattoo on a certain toned, muscular body. Beautiful.
The second is right at the end of the book. Also a poem, but with a little something extra. If you miss it, you haven't been reading close enough. Go back and check again :)
Although I haven't read the first book, One Week Girlfriend, and I'm going to make a point of reading it soon, I fell right into this book without feeling too lost. Murphy does a great job allowing to this story to flow whilst also giving her reader a little back story that stems from book one. Aria has developed into such an amazing character, and her growth can be seen throughout this book. I'm so glad she is no longer the mopey girl from Unearth. Even though she still has a tendency to wallow in her misfortune, her strength shines through and she has finally learned to stand up for herself. I enjoyed learning more about Aria's powers and getting to see her in action, even if the results were disastrous at times.
I was also excited to see more of Clay. He is a truly amazing character, staying strong and giving so much of himself to keep Aria safe. I often felt sorry for him. He knew just how to push Aria's buttons, and she was quite catty with him, but he had his reasons and as the truth about their relationship unraveled, my heart ached for him all the more. He'd suffered so much, and continued to suffer each day with the guilt that consumed him.
Clay and Aria's chemistry is explosive, literally, but there were some amazingly tender moments shared between them. Clay seemed quite guarded when he was with Aria, but from time to time his soft-hearted, swoon-worthy self showed itself, leaving me with my heart in my throat. Bernel certainly knows how to keep her readers on the edge of their seat, waiting for that special moment when two characters, who so obviously belong together, finally admit their feelings. It was painful to read (in a good way)!!
There are plenty of twists and turns, and some amazing revelations within this story. Some made me cry, others sent my heart soaring. I'm ready to dive right into the next book. I'm excited to see what Bernel has in store for the amazing characters she has brought to life. ...more

What I was expecting to be a light-hearted, fun read, soon turned into something much more emotional and I found myself on a rollercoaster ride, laughing one minute and sobbing my eyes out the next.
There were so many amazing characters in this story, and it wasn't difficult to connect with each and every one of them. They were all very well-written and well-rounded. By the end of the story I felt like I had really met each of them.
Sam was a great MC. I could relate to her in many ways. The fear of getting into a new relationship, and the risk of having her heart broken...okay, so I've never been pursued by a prince, but the fear is still very much there, but I can only imagine how much harder it was for her!
Alex! WOW! Alex! I loved him. He was gorgeous and wickedly charming. He didn't mince his words and his directness was HOT!! I felt giddy whenever he and Sam were near each other. They were so exciting together! There was just no way in hell that they weren't meant to be with each other.
The sexual tension between them was smoking, and I couldn't stop reading until I had the pleasure of seeing these two characters together. And then I couldn't stop reading because they were so fantastic together!
Sam was one lucky girl. Not only because of her newly discovered royal status and the fact that she had Prince Charm...I mean, Yummy, knocking at her door. Sam had a great wealth of amazing people around her. Jess was adorable, as was Cathy. They reminded me of my two BFFs.
I loved Chadwick. He was so much fun! He had this somewhat serious side to him but he was a real softy. He seemed to immediately warm toward Sam, and his "pokes" at her often made me smile.
Sam's stepdad was the only real family she had left, and she cherished him. It was great to see how close the two of them were, even though he wasn't her real father.
My heart shattered towards the end of this story! I could physically feel the pain Sam was in, having been through a very similar experience myself. I cried until I had no more tears to cry. Chase captured Sam's heart ache and devastation perfectly.
This story kept me prisoner from start to finish. It flowed really well, and I enjoyed every moment spent with Sam as she adjusted to her new life. I only wish it had no ending!...more
