And by the end of the book, the story kind of leaves us with some unanswered questions.
This one did have a lot of excitement and lots of moments where Cammie and others could have been in more danger than usual.
One thing about this book, that was different from the first two, was Cammie wasn’t the only focus. Macey McHenry was a character that we knew mostly for her guy advice, but in this book, you get to understand her more. She isn’t just the girl who knows about guys. She is actually lonelier then I thought she was. Ally Carter changes my perception on Macey and I love that. I think this is great to have in a series and hope we get to know Bex and Liz more as well. Macey was character that I thought I was going to unlike, but she becomes one of my favorite characters. That is after Cammie, of course.
That’s what great about this series, which I am sure most girls will love. The cast of characters are wonderful, funny, and still go through regular girl moments. Cammie’s circle of friends are best friends I would love to have during high school.
Don’t get me started on Zach in this book. I was a little mad at him. He was up and down and wished Cammie would just kiss him instead of waiting for him. He was caring and sweet, but ugh, just kiss the girl!
Another thing I did like in this book was when Cammie and her aunt were talking about her father. In each book, you seem to only get little tidbits of her dad here and there. I hope we get to know more about him as well.
Because of the ending of this one, I can’t wait to read the next one.
Just like in the first book, this one is like a roller coaster ride. There were so many things happening to Cammie. If you haven’t started the seriesJust like in the first book, this one is like a roller coaster ride. There were so many things happening to Cammie. If you haven’t started the series yet, then you need to hurry up and get to it. This is a great cast of characters and just pure fun.
I have to say I was worried I wouldn’t like the story as much without Josh being there, because I am really big romance lover. Josh was there but not the way I wanted him to be. I need a little romance here or there. Yet there is still a chance that there might be some romancing in here after all. Hot guys, who are also spies, come to in all-girl school who are spies as well. Ah I couldn’t wait to see what happens when the two mix.
Cammie already got the boy experience so she is more annoyed by the guys being there then going crazy over them. Especially since one guy named Zach caught Cammie during a Cover Ops mission. Ah! I swear Cameron forgot one of the most important rules of being spy, which everyone knows because of all the spy movies out there. Trust no one! That includes really hot guys, who might or might not be flirting with you. Never, ever give away your mission to hot guys.
Guys get too cocky when it comes to…well anything. They might think they have the upper hand, but ha they are wrong. We girls have our ways as well. This Zach guy may be a toughy but I knew Cammie could handle it. She might have made a few mistakes, like a bra accident, but she takes control a few times as well.
So even though there weren’t any good Josh moments, there were some awesome Zach moments. I got my romance thrills.
As for the mystery, Ally Carter does surprise you a lot in this book. I guessed a few things, but was still glad to have surprises that made go OMG so many times.
Eh! Why, oh why, did I wait so long to read this series!? The first paragraph, which is up there, gets you hooked! I saw it on Netgalley because DisneEh! Why, oh why, did I wait so long to read this series!? The first paragraph, which is up there, gets you hooked! I saw it on Netgalley because Disney/Hyperion was doing a promotion for the series because the 5th book was coming out. I decided that this was my chance to go out and buy the books.
This book was just simply fun. I literally can’t say one bad thing about the book. I was expecting mystery because it being a spy school but I think that will come later on in the series.
Now I am only doing a quick review on this book, because I think you just have to go pick up the series. The books are easy, fun, quick reads.
Cammie is by far one of my favorite characters. Her voice is witty, humorous, and with complete spy side comments. She is a trained spy so she looks around at everything her with her spy mind: looking for escapes, memorizing things, looking for the best weapon, and blending in to the background. She does it all. But when a regular guy catches her while she’s blending, everything she learned as a spy doesn’t help when it comes to a cute guy.
She knows 14 different languages but unfortunately, one of those languages isn’t guy. It’s so funny to see her reaction to everything we do or hear everyday. We don’t give lots of things second thoughts, but Cammie is breaking down everything and figuring out what to do. She is in constant spy mode, when really she only needed to be herself.
All of her friends and one new girl, who is at first a snob, were such great characters to read. I love when they did the reports with Cammie on her crush. All of their side comments on the reports were so hilarious to read.
At the ending, I was so surprised at how it ended. And that’s why this is such a quick review, because I really want to continue on to the second book.
