Creigh works as a programmer at a company run by two brothers, Martin and Gabriel. Martin is rather cold and ruthless lording over his employees. When Creigh’s tardiness puts him in the crosshairs of Martin, he is surprised by his reaction to the humiliation. It does not go unnoticed by Gabriel, however, who then invites Creigh to a private BDSM club.
Creigh is a bit confused but realizes he has been missing something in his sex life. He takes a chance and follows the clues given by the token left by Gabriel and decides to see what it is all about.
Gabriel is a Master at the private club, La Cachot, which is pretty high end and quite elite as BDSM clubs go. He shows Creigh a little bit of the club, going as far as Level One (there are 9 levels I believe, each representing a different level of kink). Creigh isn’t gay, but his apparent need to be humiliated and mastered takes over and he basically just goes with it. He has a lot to think about when Gabriel offers to show him more, and I was happy to see he was having at least some concerns or misgivings about the whole situation.
Setting aside the beginning rather unbelievable bit with Martin, I really liked this series opener. Gabriel is super hot, sees something in Creigh and is willing to be what Creigh needs to explore his newfound kinkier side. Creigh is a great character as well, and they have some great dialog. While they proceed under the premise of merely seeking pleasure, it is easy to see how these two could become more.
This was a really quick read, which was exactly what I was looking for and left me longing to jump right into the next one to see how these guys are progressing. I’m not completely sure how this author slipped under my radar for so long, but I’m definitely looking forward to catching up with more of Kelex’ stories....more
Jacob has devoted his life to his career, but his life is pretty empty. When he receives information that implies his firm Review by The Blogger Girls.
Jacob has devoted his life to his career, but his life is pretty empty. When he receives information that implies his firm has been making shady deals, his investigation leads him to Ben, who runs a fishing resort on an island in Wisconsin.
Ben is still grieving the loss of his partner of 20+ years two years after his death. He secludes himself on the island and runs the resort he and his partner owned with the help of his sister-in-law. He gets by with the occasional casual hookup with resort guests but has no interest in anything serious.
Jacob is at the resort to confront someone about the allegations he hopes will take down his current law firm. Unfortunately, or fortunately, that man has a habit of cancelling his vacation plans. Jacob and Ben hit it off, become friends and a casual hookup relationship begins. They carry on, meeting up whenever a chance at meeting up with the “suspect” occurs.
Jacob realizes what is missing from his life, but Ben is determined not to enter into a relationship with someone so much younger. He was much younger than his partner, and having to watch him suffer illness and die was too hard. He is adamant about this not happening with Jacob and him.
This was a really sweet, yet sometimes sad story. My heart broke for Ben and everything he had and lost with his partner. Ben and Jacob really were perfect for each other, and it was easy to forget the age difference. These guys had a very mature feel to their relationship, which I found very refreshing, even if Ben was a bit stubborn about things. The mystery surrounding the shady dealings was interesting in an Erin Brockovich sort of way, but it was their growing relationship that stole the show for me. I ended up really enjoying this story and will definitely be looking for more stories from this author in the future. ...more

This one totally caught me by surprise. I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, but it sure wasn’t this lovely gem.
Jason is the straight star quarterback, but struggling to graduate due to the time he spends on football. His sole focus is making it to the NFL. When he sees rookie receiver struggling with tackles but showing a ton of potential otherwise, he steps in to help, for the good of the team.
Derek is gay, but not out due to a really bad experience in high school that almost left him paralyzed. That same fear is what holds him back on the field. He is already crushing on Jason when Jason offers to help, but he manages to focus on the football for the most part.
I loved how these guys became friends and just what the other needed. Each had a secret to keep for the other and it only brought them closer. Once Jason starts to accept his feelings for Derek, things really heat up. They take things very slowly, only advancing when Jason was comfortable. There is a ton of sexual tension, wonderfully done first times, exciting coming out and just an overall love that grows between these guys.
I found it hard to believe while reading this that it was a debut author because it really didn’t feel like it. All I know is that I was turning pages rapidly and read it in one day, which bumped this up from a 4 star to 4.5 star read for me. I will definitely be looking for more from Ms. Hendricks and especially the continuation of this story. ...more
Jonah and Rafael get off to a rocky start when Jonah’s first undercover assignment is slightly botched after runn 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
Jonah and Rafael get off to a rocky start when Jonah’s first undercover assignment is slightly botched after running into Rafael who had already been undercover on the same operation. With the additional bad breakup Jonah had with his boyfriend, he relocates to make a fresh start and ends up being paired with non other than Rafael.
Through much of this story, Jonah and Rafael have a sort of love/hate relationship going on. Jonah thinks Rafael hates him, and much of Rafael’s actions seem to indicate that is so. But there are also some indications (jealousy) that this is not the case. This is especially true when Jonah decides to find some enjoyment in the form of another coworker, A.J. It is clear pretty much from the beginning that Jonah and A.J. make better friends, but they continue on anyway. Jonah knows there isn’t any spark between them but convinces himself he needs to give it time.
In the meantime, he and Rafael continue with their hot and cold dance. As time goes on, Jonah realizes the spark missing from A.J. is strongly prevalent with Rafael, though he tries to quash his feelings for the sake of the job/partnership. It isn’t until they are forced to go undercover together in roles that leave little to question as to how they each feel about the other.
I enjoyed this story, but much of it is the wishy washy stuff with A.J. which I really wished didn’t take up so much page time. When Jonah and Rafael are together, things are definitely hotter and you just want more of them together. However, this doesn’t happen until about 3/4 of the way through the story. From there, the story rolls quickly as they work out their feelings and what to do about their jobs, etc. It has a lovely ending, but it takes some time to get there. ...more
This series really gets better and better. I loved this installment – there is a lot going on, not sure who is go 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
This series really gets better and better. I loved this installment – there is a lot going on, not sure who is going to be actual mates, etc. You really need to read the previous stories to understand what everyone has been through to get to this point, what/who they are fighting and what they are trying to accomplish.
This story sort of centers around Marcus in various forms. I’ve loved Marcus from the start. He is now the Lupine Liaison and trusted by the Supreme Alphas and well respected by the pack. He still struggles with his disability and feelings of inadequacy and it takes a while for him to realize the wolves don’t see him the same way. Blaze has appointed Kellan as Marcus’ aide, and the two get along great, are perfect for each other and just what each other needs.
Then there is the Ricoh mess. Poor guy knew he was mates with Nate, who ran away (long story you need to read the previous books to fully understand) and was then kidnapped by the Winter Circle. Not only are they trying to rid Nate of his wolf but also his homosexuality through torture, deprivation, etc. After all he has been through, it is hard not to feel terrible for him. But, Ricoh also believes his alpha, Hunter, is his mate, though Hunter has not acknowledged that up to this point. Ricoh is also having feelings for Marcus, so you can see how confused this poor wolf is.
We get to see the original foursome again, doing what they do best. Blaze showing his power is always exciting, and the others as well. Aden is recovering from his last birth, and the four are just generally enjoying being together again after Darric’s return.
There is definitely a lot going on in this installment, but it is a real page turner. There is plenty of action, some nice smexy time, including Kellan’s first time which was a really touching scene for both guys. While we never get to see a full-out scene with the new foursome, there is no doubt they make a great family that once everyone is fully healed and will be as strong as ever. I’m a bit greedy in that I really would have liked to have seen more of Nate’s recovery, but perhaps that will be shown in the next installment. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the new dynamics play out now that their (or Marcus’) roles have changed.
I definitely recommend this series and can’t wait for the next one! ...more
This book was a bit of a surprise. I was expecting a some hot dirty talkin sex line worker and I’m not really sure what A review by The Blogger Girls.
This book was a bit of a surprise. I was expecting a some hot dirty talkin sex line worker and I’m not really sure what else, but I definitely didn’t see it going the way it did. It wasn’t typical in that you never really knew who the secondary MC was, or even who you wanted it to be.
Vegas is a sweet guy who had a rough start after moving to NYC. He ended up falling for the wrong guy who turned controlling and a bit abusive. Picking up the pieces, he then became roommates with his new best friend, London, who also convinces him to work as a sex phone operator where he works. All goes well until he gets a creepy phone call that turns into the stalker from hell.
All through this, you never quite know who is good and who isn’t. Is it Vegas’ boss who now shows interest? Is it his abusive controlling ex? The new guy he just met and hit it off with? I’ll say that the truth was a bit of a shocker, one that I definitely did not see coming. But it all kept me on the edge of my seat and my fingers turning pages.
There were a few things that niggled at me with this story. The names were a bit too over the top for me. Everyone was named after a location or something similar, Vegas, Jersey, London, Dakota, etc. They all blended after a while, especially since they weren’t merely “stage” names. In addition, there were a few tiny plot holes or things that just didn’t quite add up for me. But, overall, this was a, dare I say, a fun, story. It was fast-paced and rather exciting, keeping me on edge and eager to get to the bottom of things. At the end, I still wasn’t sure I accomplished that with a final twist that threw me completely off.
This was my first book by this author, and I quite liked the style in which it was written. It was full of twists and turns with some sweet and sexy thrown in to top it all off. I will definitely be looking for more. ...more

One is about a young man who basically had everything taken away from him, is addicted to drugs and finds himself in a really bad place, turning to bad people to save him from the even badder people. It is harsh, but very well written and over way too quickly even though I wanted the bad stuff to end.
The second was about another man with not a whole lot going for him. In a dead-end job he hates but seems to everyone to be just a guy getting by. When he gets home, we learn the real truth, and it isn't pretty. What ensues is a delicious little horror story that ends with a what comes around, goes around.

I was so excited for the much anticipated story of Diesel and Paris, whom I’ve wanted more from since we met them in boo A review by The Blogger Girls.
I was so excited for the much anticipated story of Diesel and Paris, whom I’ve wanted more from since we met them in book 1. Paris trained with Diesel, but when Paris asked Diesel to see him off before he left for the island to work, Diesel, afraid Paris wanted him for the wrong reasons, denied him and sent him away. Now, time has passed, and Diesel has decided to bridge the gap.
It takes some time before these guys get past the miscommunications, but when they finally give in and agree on a week together, they are extremely hot together. Diesel is the Patroneus, a Master of the Dominion, but Paris isn’t really into the scene. There is also the issue of Paris being gay but Diesel being bisexual. Nothing major, but definitely some hurdles for them as they think about their future. Paris just does it for Diesel. He is the one who is capable of taking all that Diesel can dish out sexually, and vice versa. However, Diesel is still longing for his own Unicorn (or, female life slave), such as what Trenton has found Katiana. Diesel and Trenton have shared just about everything, and it is only natural that they end up sharing Kat. It ends up being the perfect solution for all of them.
There is a lot of emphasis on the names in this series, i.e. Dominus, Patroneus, Unicorn, Mouse, Fallen Angel, Imp, etc. It feels a bit overdone at times, but the story eventually takes over and they become more tolerable.
Once the guys get back home, things really take off. There is a lot happening in this long story. While much of it centers around Paris and Diesel’s relationship, but a lot of action takes place with the rest of the brothers and their business, as well as events from the past coming back to haunt them, mostly centering around Kat. These guys (and gal) go through hell and back more than once, have near death experiences, deal with shootings and deal with the aftermath.
Now, again, this is a long book, with a lot of sex (albeit super hot sex). It ends on a giant cliffhanger, and while I was yelling at my Kindle at the time, I was happy to know there was so much more coming from this story. There is definitely more to tell for all of these characters, and I already cannot wait for the continuation. ...more

What a wonderful surprise this story was! As with each previous story, we are immediately brought back into this fantastic world.
The guys are all back at home base resting and recovering. Jon is having a bit of a rough time with his nightmares and especially as Baltsaros seems to play a starring role. This puts him at great odds with B. Even though he consciously knows how things are and doesn’t blame B, his subconscious doesn’t feel the same and he doesn’t quite know what to do to make them see eye to eye.
Tom, oh lovely Tom, just makes me smile every single time he is on page, whether it be his thoughts or his words, he is just one fabulous character. He is worried about poor Jon but is just about at his wit’s end with trying to figure out how to help the situation.
Baltsaros is frustrated as well, but remains understanding and patient. It takes the group as a whole, including the outside cast of characters, such as one-handed Kate and her now pregnant Myra, to help with the big plan. Tom and Jon each have a plan to do something special for the other, but it is B who runs with it and really puts the icing on the cake. Baltsaros shines in the end here and shows us, once again, how he is the strong mast holding up his sails, Tom and Jon. His present to Jon was extremely moving, and I can only imagine how Jon and even Tom felt when it was explained.
This was a wonderful little story, and even though it is short, it contains all of the elements of the previous full-length stories. So much so, that it felt like a miniaturized version. Each story feels like a piece of giant cake with this being a satisfying taste. I highly recommend this amazing series and urge you to experience every bite. ...more

We finally get to the bottom of Tom’s disappearance in this stunning conclusion. There were signs as to who was behind it, but nothing prepared me for the truth.
Henry has the help of his friends, new and old, including a best friend who had always wished for more and new friends in his assistant and hired PI. Together, they uncover the details and take us on yet another roller coaster ride to the end. This entire story was riveting and heartbreaking, beautiful and heartwarming. It was unique and exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat. To say any more would be giving too much away. The ride continues! Poor Henry is beside himself trying to cope with the loss of his missing husband. We learn all about their love story through flashbacks, and it is easy to see what a wonderful couple they were. Even though he has been absent from the beginning, we feel like we already know Tom pretty well which makes his disappearance even more heartbreaking.
In this segment, Henry is struggling with finding himself living alone after so many years, missing his husband so terribly and not wanting to give up hope. There are a lot of twists in this story, so it is difficult to say much without giving anything away. Suffice to say, poor Henry goes through just as much turmoil as the readers in trying to figure out what is going on. This is especially true when his sanity is once again put into question after receiving a telephone call from what appears to be Tom.
So, Henry takes matters into his own hand and hires a PI to help him figure things out. This was yet another fast-paced, edge of your seat read. I gobbled up the pages to get answers longing for some peace for Henry. A review by The Blogger Girls. Noah is deeply closeted due to his career and his father’s preachings about how anything else would affect that career.A review by The Blogger Girls. Noah is deeply closeted due to his career and his father’s preachings about how anything else would affect that career. That all changes when he meets Shae on night when he is out with his friends. Shae is a sexy bartender who also happens to be friends with Noah’s friends. They have immediate chemistry, but Noah continues to hide. When his friends invite Shae out with them shortly after their first meeting, Noah is hardly in a position to say no.
My biggest problem with this story is that it was way too short! Shae and Noah come together where Shae opens Noah’s eyes up to how things could be between them, but Noah’s fears drive a wedge between them pretty quickly. Shae has been burned before and though he is not into one-night stands, he ends up walking away when it seems that is just what Noah means for them to be.
These two were really hot together. It is pretty clear they make a perfect match, but I wanted to know so much more about them, especially Shae, whom we only got to see through Noah’s POV. I really hope there is a continuation to this story planned in the future, because this taste was just not enough to satisfy, and I’m definitely eager for more.

This one grabbed me right from the get go and held on to the end. It is dark and edgy with very little fluff, which is exactly what I love.
Haven is an assassin, but not just any old assassin. He was recruited at a young age after a pretty brutal home life put him in the crosshairs of his now handler. He been doing this work for over 10 years and is really good at what he does, but he is getting tired and thinking of ending his career. I loved Haven right away. He doesn’t just take people out. He takes them out in ways that fit their crimes. For example: an evil person who also runs a dog fighting ring is ended by giving said dogs the revenge they deserve (one of my favorite of his jobs). These were very creative and fitting for each one.
When Haven is on a particular job undercover searching for the head of the sex trafficking ring, he ends up finding and saving Sammy, a young man who had been kept as a sex slave since he was 12. Haven is his angel and knight in shining armor and he immediately feels safe with him. He clings to Haven in such a way that with little other choice, he takes Sammy home to keep him safe. Yes, it is insta-love for Sammy, but given his circumstances, it was easy to see how that happened and just how fast he saw through Haven (the first one to do so).
Things take a turn when these two take things further. Sammy is done being a sex slave. He has grown strong through his captivity in such a way that enabled him to survive and now that he is “free,” he takes control. Feeling unthreatened by Sammy, Haven allows and even enjoys it. I actually really liked this role reversal, and it made sense to me knowing their backgrounds. It was a smidge unbelievable at times, but I really think it just worked with these two.
There are some great side characters here, such as Kelly and Rook, Haven’s caretaker and handler, respectively. Kelly has been by Haven’s side from the beginning, and even though this isn’t the norm (caretakers are usually moved to other assassins after a few months), they clicked in a way that Haven needed. He becomes more family than co-worker to Haven, and then Sammy, and the three eventually realize how much they mean to each other in that capacity. I really liked Kelly and how he handled everything.
There is a lot of violence and bad stuff going on in this story with the drugs, abuse, sex trafficking, kids, etc. that may be triggers, but it is a really good read and I definitely recommend it. The writing is excellent and kept my attention from beginning to end. I’m looking forward to whatever Mr. Williams comes up with next. ...more
You absolutely have to read this series from the beginning. If you’ve made it this far, you’ve been yearning for this in A review by The Blogger Girls.
You absolutely have to read this series from the beginning. If you’ve made it this far, you’ve been yearning for this installment for as long as the rest of us Don’t addicts. This is Master Gray’s book, or told from his POV. These guys have been through hell and back more than once, and time hasn’t quite healed any of them yet. They continue to struggle with everything that has happened and shaped their current relationship. I have no idea how to put into words how much I love this series. Just as the Master Subs and other characters’ minds are manipulated (in both good and evil ways), so too was mine. That is one of the things I love most about this series. It is so in-depth and complicated, yet easy (mostly) to follow. It made me catch my breath over and over, and for a book to grab my emotions in such a way makes it a clear winner in my book.
Just as with the previous installments, we see the guys trying to cope, each in their own way, while trying to help the others. While they all play extremely important roles in this relationship, Gray has always remained the center of this triad for me. He is the Master after all. I don’t believe I have ever come across such complex characters in all my reading. We learn more than we ever have about Gray’s past and what makes him tick, but I truly don’t believe we will ever fully understand every layer of him. Over the course of these stories, Gray’s motives may have seemed somewhat questionable, but I never once doubted his level of care and devotion to Jack, and even Jan for that matter.
Jack is a close second in my favorite character lineup. He is complex in such different ways than Gray, and I love every one of them. Dare I say, I even love Martin. He is my favorite “evil” character hands down. It seems as though the guys have found a way to sort of contain Martin, but it remains a fine line. When it is Martin who has the information needed, they must all go back on everything they’ve done up to this point in keeping him out of the picture and bring him front and center. It is through Martin that we learn even more about Gray, and I love how Gray handles the two, Jack/Martin. Gray really is a remarkable individual, and I fell even more in love with him in this segment.
Jan is my least favorite, but I concede he is a much needed partner in this group. He is the one who filled the gaps left by Gray which is exactly what Jack needed. He is the soft to Gray’s hard. I honestly kept waiting for the time when he would just give up on Jack and Gray and walk away. He isn’t of their world, and it shows more than once, but he is stronger than he appears, especially after all he’s been through. I definitely garnered new respect for Jan for not giving up.
I am not usually one for nicknames or overused terms of endearment in my stories. Never before have I actually longed for them as I do with this story. Every time Gray call Jack “stunner,” I got a little choked up. The same went for Jack calling Gray “mukkah” or “old mukkah.” Heck, even Martin calling Gray “Welsh” got to me and brought so many feelings back. Ms. Pyke writes with such intensity that I find myself overwhelmed by it at times, in a good way. I held my breath so many times, and just when I would catch it, it would happen all over again.
I was so excited to learn there is another book coming in this series after thinking this was the last one. These poor guys need a break, but I’m really glad they’ll be back. I tried to read slowly and savor it, really I did, but it was so hard to do.
I have to give a mention about the additional characters here. Poor straight Craig truly needs a raise, because whatever the MC is paying him, it cannot possibly be enough to justify all that he does for these guys. He is always there providing whatever care is needed, no matter what that entails, and it usually entails quite a lot. He was one of my favorite characters from Jack’s time at the ward, and he remains so now. It was also great to see Lynn Kelling’s characters from the Society of Masters joining the guys when they were needed. I immediately went on to read their stories after this to learn more about them and their connection to the MC and the trio as well. I definitely recommend you check them out.
So, this book (and the entire series) continues to hold the spot at the tippy top of my all-time favorite list. If you love things on the darker side, love watching your characters go through hell and fight their way back, love highly emotional and gut-wrenching stories, you should move this series right to the top of your list. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would not hesitate to do so. ...more
This starts out being about Tyler, a guy club owner Francis meets and entices to his club to see what it’s all about. So A review by The Blogger Girls.
This starts out being about Tyler, a guy club owner Francis meets and entices to his club to see what it’s all about. So, Tyler agrees to a one-month trial contract as a sub. It’s more of a dare to see if Tyler can hack actually being a sub, but that made it quite interesting. Shae is the guy Francis partners up with Tyler to show him the ropes.
I enjoyed this one right from the start. Shae is some kind of sexy, and I loved Tyler’s explorations into the world of kink. On one hand, you have Tyler, a guy who isn’t sure he is a sub or a top, and a top who isn’t quite a top or a sub. I loved these guys no playing by the specifics. Shae was a sub with top tendencies. He worked at the club as trainer topping and domming in order to sate those needs. Unfortunately, being this kind of versatile is not looked upon as a positive thing, mostly by Shae, as he feels he can’t be the perfect sub if he needs to top every once in a while.
As for the rest of the story, it was a little confusing at first, but quickly becomes clear this is about Shae and Francis with Tyler just being a player involved in assisting with their respective plans to get back together. Francis and Shae had been together, but Shae’s issues caused them problems. Francis never gave up though. He backed off when Shae needed the space to work things out but always had it in mind they were perfect for each other. It takes the plotting and scheming of each of them, as well as many of their friends, to make it happen.
I wish this had been a bit more focused on Shae and Francis. It seemed like there was a lot of time spent o Tyler and Shae and their issues, but at the same time, those were very interesting and hot stuff. There were quite a bit of explanations and tutorials into the basics of BDSM, but once you get past that, it moved along at a good pace. The resolution seemed to happen very quickly, with Shae seeming to make a very quick turn around. But, all in all, I enjoyed...more
I really hesitated to read this one. I am not a fan of children in my stories, let alone screaming babies. But, 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
I really hesitated to read this one. I am not a fan of children in my stories, let alone screaming babies. But, as I already knew these characters from the first book in this series, I really wanted to see where things went. Just about when I was about at my kid/baby quota of tolerance, things turned around, and I’m glad I stuck with it.
It is now five years later, Noah and Pierce have a new baby in their family, which Noah wasn’t completely on board about even though he loves the little guy. The big issue here is that Noah is stressed out to the limit and is having trouble coping with it all. He loves Pierce, but is just at his wit’s end with everything. He’s keeping secrets from Pierce, and given his previous indiscretion, it is making Pierce very suspicious.
Noah turns to Francis for help once again. It takes quite a while for the issues to all come to light, the secret to be let out of the bag and for these guys to be ready to help each other. They aren’t or haven’t really ever been into the “scene,” but Noah finds peace in being flogged. Pierce attempts to provide that for him, and they eventually reach a place where they are both comfortable.
As I said, the beginning of this was a little rough for me, but the second half won me over. The secret keeping and miscommunications almost became too much even for me, but these guys are far from perfect, and the end result is worth it. I definitely recommend reading the previous books in this series, especially book 1 where we are introduced to Noah and Pierce. I’m really looking forward to the next installment. ...more

It is mainly about Noah, a guy who has been through a lot. He was abused and then kicked out by his parents as a teen, became a single dad not much later and is now raising his daughter and doing okay. Unfortunately, his daughter has an illness that will require a very expensive surgery.
Pierce is the brother of Francis, the owner of the BDSM club. Pierce meets Noah at the club while Noah is subbing for one of the more sadistic Doms, Richard. Richard convinces Pierce to participate in a “scene” with them. Pierce is not completely comfortable at various times with the way things are going but he goes through with it anyway. It isn’t until the two meet by chance outside the club that Pierce finds out who the real Noah is which is far from the sub he was at the club. The two become friends and eventually more, though it takes some doing to convince Noah he can let someone else in.
The one thing that didn’t feel quite right here was that obviously Noah had some pretty deep issues. Pierce is convinced by his brother, Francis, that Pierce needs to help Noah by using dom/sub tactics, which doesn’t go very well at all. Francis ends up helping more in the end, but these two are never really dom/sub.
As I said earlier, this ended up being rather sweet. Pierce is there for Noah, even after things happen that separate them, and it was nice to see their little family come together. While this story was a bit choppy in parts, it moves along at a pretty good pace, leaving me eager to jump into the next one to see where things would go for them all. It’s a nice start to the series though, and I’m looking forward to the next installment....more
Square Peg owners, Shane and Ben, are off to England to see to Shane’s mother’s funeral. Shane does not get along 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
Square Peg owners, Shane and Ben, are off to England to see to Shane’s mother’s funeral. Shane does not get along with his father who was an abusive alcoholic at the best of times. He is the reason Shane left for the States all those years ago, and not much has changed with their relationship.
Much of this story is about Shane dealing with the loss of his mum and his somewhat reconciliation with this father. In between all of that is Ben trying his best to keep Shane grounded through it all. As in their previous story, book 1, The Square Peg, these guys are just perfect for each other in every way. Their sexual encounters, which are off the charts hot, still maintain a level of Shane’s submission and Ben’s domination, though it is very unstructured. I love this about them. They both need what they do, and try to provide for each other, yet in every day life, they are partners with equal say.
The other side of this story is Shane dealing with some major homesickness after his return and finding he wants to give England another try. Needless to say, this puts a lot of strain on their relationship. Should Shane stay where the only blood relative he has lives or is the U.S. really his home now? Is the Square Peg more than just a building or does it hold the key to his true family? It takes a while and some bad decisions by Shane to figure it all out, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Unfortunately, as I said earlier, the bulk of this story was about Shane’s return and dealing with things there, which I found to be a bit boring after a while. I found myself wanting to skip ahead to get to some more interesting parts, which do come around 75% through where things pick up. Had it not been for that last $25%, I would have said this was a rather anticlimactic end to this series. But, the end did save it for me, and everything wrapped up nicely.
This duo has a great style with equal amounts of dialog and storytelling. Their D/S and regular sex scenes are hot stuff and definitely held my interest. I found I missed the other guys from the series, even though we see them here and there. I’m sad to see the end of the Square Peg gang, but definitely look forward to whatever is coming next from Ms. Davitt and Ms. Snow. ...more

This is one heartbreaking story, although it does end on a happy note. When Loren and Eliot become childhood friends, Loren knows there is something different about Eliot, that he’s crazy on some level. Loren sticks by him and becomes his rock, able to calm him and talk him down from his episodes. But, after Eliot attempts suicide, he is committed and Loren loses all contact.
Fast forward nine years, and Loren accidentally meets up with Eliot when he sees him dancing at a club. Eliot is grown now and seems to be functioning ok, but that’s just on the surface. Loren’s feelings are still there for Eliot, and the two get reacquainted once again and take their relationship further.
The struggles in this story are so real and just about unimaginable. Eliot is bipolar and it affects his life daily. He has to accept that he needs medications and commit to taking them, as opposed to his past practices of making the voices stop with alcohol, etc. Those evil voices rarely leave him in peace, and he lashes out in various ways he has found help him cope the best over the years, from random sex, to alcohol, to self-harm. Unfortunately, those are all pretty self-destructive.
Loren learns to understand Eliot’s issues and cope (or tries to) with his mood swings, etc. It isn’t easy, but nothing in this book really ever is. Both guys have to find a balance in order to live peacefully together, which is so difficult when it takes so little to upset that balance. Stress is a big trigger for Eliot, which is difficult when Loren’s job as a cop comes into play. Loren’s career is just one more thing he must contend with in deciding what’s more important.
This story will grip you from the beginning and keep you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. It is my favorite of the series so far, and I think Ms. Hansen did a fantastic job portraying the issues of living with a loved one with mental illness. My heart broke over and over for Eliot, and I fell in love with him just as easily as Loren did. If you enjoy your stories with a little more emotional umpf and heavy issues, definitely give this one a try. ...more
Saved the best for last! I loved this one. It was so different and totally unexpected. It starts off with Eric an 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
Saved the best for last! I loved this one. It was so different and totally unexpected. It starts off with Eric and Conner who have an instant attraction, despite their sort of working together and despite their age difference, etc. However, after Connor's sexual needs become too much for Eric, realizing they are bringing out a much darker dominant side than Eric is comfortable with, the two part ways.
The story fast forwards five years when Eric meets Conner again. The same chemistry is there and they share a steamy night of reunion sex. When Eric ends up meeting Connor's husband, Tyler, whom we met in the previous books, things get pretty interesting. Tyler is not only Conner's husband, but also his dom. He allows Conner to pursue Eric and they talk him into joining their relationship.
Eric is a bit new to D/S and is still concerned over losing control. But, just as Tyler knows how to handle Conner, he finds a way for it to all work for them with Conner, ever the manipulator, being the sub-dominant in the trio with Tyler holding the top dom spot.
I loved these guys together and the uniqueness of how they came together, their back stories, etc. There is a lot of sex, but it is off-the-charts hot. Definitely my favorite of the series so far and I'm looking forward to more....more
Malcolm is still feeling guilty over the loss of his sub whom he feels he pushed toward the dom who actually was a serial Review by The Blogger Girls.
Malcolm is still feeling guilty over the loss of his sub whom he feels he pushed toward the dom who actually was a serial killer that murdered him. He best friend finally gets him to see how misplaced his guilt is and convinces him to go back to the club scene. It just so happens to fall on the night of a charity sub auction.
This is where Malcolm meets Kyle, a sweet sub that calls to him immediately. Kyle doesn’t have a ton of experience, and what he has isn’t the best. But he quickly sees Malcolm isn’t like his previous Doms and longs for more than just one night. These guys are really sweet together and exactly what each other needs. Kyle has a lot of things to overcome, such as his general feeling of unworth that has been growing for some time. His parents care more about status and image than anything else and are cold to say the least. Unfortunately, they own his condo and the car he drives, so he is somewhat forced to remain closeted where they are concerned for fear of losing it all.
Malcolm works hard to gain Kyle’s trust in the bedroom and out. Their relationship grows and does well until outside issues set them back. They share more of a total D/S relationship, meaning more 24/7 than just playing, although it is made clear Malcolm wants to know Kyle as much, if not more, than the sub. I really enjoyed these guys together and the story moved along at an easy and enjoyable pace. If you like sweet BDSM stories, this one definitely fits that bill. The story focuses on building their relationship and trust with lovely “vanilla” scenes intermingled with the interesting and sometimes intense BDSM scenes.
This was a lovely story about submission and finding compatible love and I definitely recommend it. ...more

So, the blurb pretty much tells this story in a nutshell. When Milo passes the interview, he is introduced to veteran Sullivan and they end up doing a scene together to break Milo in. The scene is intense with no sex involved, but instead, Sullivan brings Milo to the edge and back again numerous times. The two share a great chemistry, and Milo wants more. Sullivan is hesitant given their age difference and realities of their jobs, but he eventually gives in and offers to help take Milo the rest of the way.
I honestly really liked where this story was going. What is there is really good, but unfortunately, it ends before it really gets started. I wanted so much more of these two and really wanted to see how they worked out. This felt like the first chapter in a serial story, and I was left wanting but with no relief in sight. Makes it easy to imagine how Milo felt at the end of his scene. :D
I’m really hoping there will be more to this story, and if there is, I’ll be ready to jump right back in. ...more
What a delightful little visit with Ori and Reynard! Everything I loved about these two is brought right back to life in A review by The Blogger Girls.
What a delightful little visit with Ori and Reynard! Everything I loved about these two is brought right back to life in this short glimpse into life in the nest as Ori adjusts to his new status. He is just as sweet and eager to please though he harbors many doubts about Reynard actually wanting a swan.
Raynard steps up to the plate making Oli’s birthday a special event and quashing any doubts he may have now or in the future. He’s ever protective and dominant over Ori whether in human or avian form and I loved seeing them in both.
This was a really short but super sweet little update on how these guys are making out since Duck! I’m definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series to see where things go from here. ...more
