In this segment, Théoden is spending some time with the sexy dragon King. Gotta love the lustful dragons, especially when they bring Théoden to his knees, so to speak. It’s fun watching him take on a role different from that which he takes with his vampires.
Meanwhile, the search for Dante continues, as does the search for the new chosen siblings. Marco still puts Noel in his place every now and then, but it is happening less and less. I’m still not a fan of his, but he holds an important position as Théoden’s second, so I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere any time soon.
There is more of what everyone loved about the previous books, especially lots of hot raunchy sex, but the story is also progressing. New vamps are being sired, per the decree of King Ari, and the time is drawing near for those chosen by Théoden to leave with Ari for his conquest of the new city.
As each story ends, I look forward to the events to come in the following books. This one was no different. While much has happened, and everyone (especially Noel) has come a long way, it feels as though there is still much more to tell. I think Noel is in for a bumpy ride in the near future as Théoden’s promises to others of Noel’s company are called upon. I am, once again, already excited for the next one. ...more

From the beautiful cover, to the title and the story in between, this is one heck of a well-written, well-rounded story that I absolutely fell in love with.
Grant has managed to steer clear of the FBI for years, not giving them a single bit of evidence of any wrongdoings. Even his boyfriend, who turned out to be an undercover agent, couldn’t find anything. But, Grant has decided to cut and run. Before he can safely do that, he must lay low until it is safe to access his other funds. He commences his 3 year play by buying a fixer upper house in sleepy Durstrand.
This story really grabbed a hold of me once Morgan is introduced. What a wonderful character he is. He is a functioning Autistic man who has overcome an extreme amount of challenges to be where he is today. He is so strong in so many ways, yet he is also extremely fragile. He doesn’t take crap from people, can take care of himself (for the most part) and goes after what he wants. This is all a bit difficult for Grant to fully understand, and he has trouble not jumping in every time he thinks Morgan needs help. Grant also struggles a bit initially with actually having a relationship with Morgan, not wanting to take advantage. Morgan shows Grant exactly how capable he is in one of the most unique and sensual sex scenes I’ve read.
One thing I loved about this story are the various struggles Morgan faced. He is such a unique individual who is beautiful in so many ways. I also really enjoyed Grant’s struggles, as they seemed very real to me. He realizes throughout this story that he falls prey to the very things he dislikes in other people where Morgan is concerned. He doesn’t always see beyond Morgan’s tics and other issues. But, Morgan isn’t afraid to remind Grant, nor to send him packing when his actions relay more than his words.
When I mentioned the cover and the title in relation to this story, it just connects consistently throughout. Morgan shows Grant so many things about light through his glass sculptures, etc. But when he truly shows him the man he is in the absence of light, it all comes together.
This story has it all, it really does. It is heartwarming, yet also heartbreaking. It has sad moments, but there is also a lot of humor, as Morgan is a snarky little bugger. The sex is off the charts hot. You never feel as though you’ve read this story before. It is truly one of my favorites, and by far, my favorite of Ms. Wilder’s. If you enjoyed Complementary Colors, you will absolutely love this one. It has many of the same elements. Ms. Wilder does an amazing job painting vivid pictures of characters with varying disabilities, and this one is top notch. I highly recommend it. ...more

This was a really interesting little story showing a lot of long-term potential. I didn’t realize it when I read this, but I was really excited to see that this was the start of a series.
Slade is lost, in more ways than one. He’s been injured, discharged from the military, hitchhiking across country ending up in the boonies where he stumbles upon Callum’s cabin. Callum offers a skittish Slade a place to sleep for the night, and though Callum is a bit intrigued, he keeps to himself. That is, until a nightmare wakes Slade and Callum can’t help but console him.
Through all of this, little things set off sparks – the hint at restraining Slade quickly sets Slade at ease, which, in turn, wakes Callum’s dom side. After a discussion the next morning, Callum suggests of some other activities, etc. that could help Slade given what Callum’s seen of his issues (PTSD, grief, etc.) and his signs of submissiveness. Slade’s eyes are opened and he believes it is what he needs, but not knowing and not wanting to assume if Callum is even interested in giving it to him long-term, he is determined to find it elsewhere. So, miscommunication is now the name of the game. Eventually, these guys were on the same page, and I’m really looking forward to reading more of their story.
This was a quick read, but it is full of emotion. At first, things seem a bit cliché, but the rest really didn’t play out that way. I loved getting glimpses into these guys’ backgrounds and really hope to learn more as the story progresses. I’ll definitely be in line when the next one is ready. ...more

This one was calling my name. From the ex-military, disabled vet, friends to lovers, GFY, etc., I was just a little excited. I was not disappointed.
These guys have such a connection, even before their budding relationship takes hold. They not only served together, but Jase saved Carey’s life on the battlefield, and the two have remained close friends. Jase is one of the few people who totally look past Carey’s disability, doesn’t try to help him at every turn or overcompensate for him. Carey is doing fairly well with his recovery and life, enjoying his new career helping give therapy to other wounded vets and PTSD sufferers. When visiting Jase this time around, he realizes he is starting to see Jase in a different light.
Jase has been in love with Carey for a long time, but knowing it is a one-sided deal, he pushes his feelings aside allowing their friendship to grow while he satisfies himself, or tries to, with miscellaneous men and women. He is still dealing with his own PTSD issues and has yet to find a way to really address the situation.
When these two get together, it is explosive. Smoking hot sex and smexy dirty talk abound. Jase gives it his all, laying it all out there, and Carey is along for the ride in the moment. But, he flounders a bit with his new feelings, which is understandable – he doesn’t just jump right into the I’m gay, it’s ok bandwagon. The hard part was watching Jase deal with it, not wanting to lose their friendship even if they can’t have a full blown relationship. It takes a while for Carey to come to grips and realize what losing Jase really means to him, but he gets there eventually.
Some of this story is told through flashbacks, which I am not generally a fan of. If they aren’t done just right, they really pull me from the story. These were sort of in the middle. They pulled me out a little, but they were also important to really get a feel for what these guys experienced and what brought them together as friends/brothers in arms.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable read with a lot of elements that worked for me. I wasn’t completely sold on the GFY or the flashbacks, but the rest was very well done. It kept my interest throughout and ended with a lovely HEA epilogue. I’ll definitely be looking for more from Ms. Hansen in the future.

This is a short story about two guys making a living in NYC as go go dancers. If you’ve ever been to NY and experienced the bars and go go dancers, I think you’ll appreciate this story a bit more. It was fun to see this exaggerated version of how things are.
Joel and Sam’s lives consist of little more than going to the gym and dancing. At least, that’s all Joel seems to care about. He is with Sam, but is constantly thinking about more, being with more people, making more money, how much better he is than everyone else, etc. He is basically a big jerk with no redeemable qualities. I had absolutely no idea what Sam saw in him.
Sam is a sweet guy who, while he enjoys his job as a dancer, is looking for a bigger break. He spends his days looking for acting jobs or modeling gigs while still fitting in the gym and the dancing job. He pretty much only has eyes for Joel, though, again, I can’t fathom why. When Joel starts getting messages from a stalker, Sam is the only one who seems concerned.
Things escalate as the stalker steps up his game, but there is a pretty big twist that, even though it should have been obvious, I didn’t really see coming. This may have been the first time I was ever really happy about the outcome of such a twist.
Needless to say, this story was a really fast read, and storyline aside, the writing was well done. It was easy to read, made me chuckle at the almost ridiculous actions of Joel, and though this isn’t really a romance, I did feel like there was a HEA when all was said and done.
This is my first story by Mr. Morgan, and I’m looking forward to checking out his other work. ...more

I loved this story every bit as much as the first book, . A Dangerous Reality This one is a little different though, or I should say the guys are a bit different.
We met Ormond in the previous book. He has a badge or uniform kink, in that blowing men in uniform really does it for him. Needless to say, he doesn’t ever get any traffic tickets. He owns up to his slutty ways though, fully admits he is a total cumslut, but he is thinking it is time to start changing his ways.
Anson is former military/turned mercenary. He was sent home from the sandbox after it appeared his PTSD was getting the best of him. He returns home to visit the MC to find out more about his elusive father of whom nobody will say a word. In the meantime, at the request of that MC, he takes a job helping out the newly-formed Bent Zealots MC to rid them of their little problem with theft and turf encroaching.
Ormond’s knowledge of the rez and experience with the law enforcement earns him a spot as Anson’s partner. Now, here is where these two are different. They are both used to being lovers at a distance. Neither has gotten close to anyone (or at least not in a long time in the case of Anson), and they both like it a bit rough. Ormon likes to be dominated and used, and Anson is more than happy to do the dominating and rough sex. There are no quick declarations of love here, though Ormon realizes pretty early on that Anson is exactly his type. After Anson, he has no desire to submit to random blowjobs. It just takes a little convincing to bring Anson around.
Anson gets much more than he bargained for or even knew he desired when he found his home with Ormond and the Zealots. These guys have a different kind of relationship, but it works for them, and it’s easy to see at the end how right they are for each other.
This story moves along at a quick pace and has plenty of hot dirty sex and exciting action. I really enjoyed this and love the gay biker gang theme. They are not without their problems, but they are looking to be a force to be reckoned with, and I am looking forward to more of their stories. ...more

This story follows Pure and picks up not long after where that leaves off. While I really liked Pure, there were things, such as the age gap, that threw me off a bit. That wasn’t the case here, so Indulgence worked a little better for me.
We met both of these characters in Pure. Joe was quitting his job as a detective and joining Callum as an investor in the club and partners in the security business. This story begins with Joe’s last day on the job. At this point, he is a two-time divorcee who plays around a little at the club, mostly with women subs. While he has had a few light scenes with men, he has been straight, or a least, he thought he was straight. Adam makes him question and rethink things, which Joe often worked out by way of very funny inner conversations.
Adam was Lee’s friend, a sub who has been helping Lee with the new boutique. He’s a sweet guy who clearly has a past but hides it all behind smiles and what appears to most to be sweet submission. He’s a talented guy, he can sing, he’s going to the same college as Lee, and he has come a long way from his time on the streets.
When trouble finds Adam, Joe is in the right place at the right time and offers to help. Through this, Joe’s protective nature kicks into high gear, and before he knows it, Adam is staying with him. Little by little, Adam chips away at Joe’s I’m a straight guy shell. I liked that Joe didn’t really fight it as much as he was surprised by it and sort of questioned/argued with himself over the possibility.
There is a little bit of mystery and who dunnit, some miscommunications and misunderstandings that almost ruin their chances, but these guys finally figure things out. Whether Joe is just trying to get it out of his system, or they are both on the same page, the scenes were hot and sweet. I really enjoyed these guys together. This story moved along at a quick pace, and wrapped up nicely. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next....more

This series is really rolling now. Théoden is now Prince of the City and wasting no time in getting things under control. The first of two pressing needs is addressed when a meeting is set up with the Alpha of the wolves. I was so excited to see them finally make an appearance.
One thing I love about this series is the fact that you can easily see and feel the differences between the species. By that, I mean that it is clear the vamps are dangerous but more refined and reserved about things. They are more controlled about everything they do. The wolves, even though we have only seen them briefly so far, are much more wild, not caring about appearances and just doing what they do. I can totally picture them in a mass feeding frenzy, playing with their food. Then, there are the dragons, most powerful, both physically and sexually. They’re bad, and they know it but don’t need to show it, choosing instead to sit back and enjoy the pursuit of their sexual endeavors.
So now, Théoden has called a meeting with the wolves in hopes of coming to an agreement for their future, centering around the capture of the rogue wolf hybrid, Dante. Terms are agreed upon that hint of quite a few interesting possibilities, especially for our friend, Noel, who has been busy trying to learn his new position. Marco is a strict mentor, so of course, nothing is easy for Noel. The second pressing need of siring more vamps is still on everyone’s minds.
While this segment has a lot more story building, it still contains the crazy hot and no frills sex we’ve seen in the previous books. Positions may change here and there, and power gained but then lost, as Noel continues to take one step forward, two steps back. He’s getting there though, but I sense some potential upheaval in his future if things play out the way they are hinted at.
I am becoming more and more involved with these characters and their world as this story grows. It seems to really be gaining momentum now, and as with the previous installments, I cannot wait for the next. ...more
Unfortunately, it seems I am in the minority on this one. I’ll try to explain why.
The story: The story itself was ok. I was interested in reading a m/f story with a sexy alpha male and strong female character. Things heat up very quickly for Natalie and Michael when they meet in the elevator of their building. Michael is very mysterious and uses his charms to lure Natalie in. It works, and she is craving everything Michael in short order. Well, almost everything, but she doesn’t put up much of a fight against the things she doesn’t like.
The characters: Here is where I had the most trouble. I really didn’t like Michael all that much. There were times when he was super sexy, spewing sexual tension like a sprinkler on high speed. But, most of the time, he was a pushy, way-too-controlling, borderline jerk. He had trust issues, but he was a contradiction. He was often self-centered and egotistic, yet he was devoted to saving the environment and was completely against infidelity. Often, his ways of “teaching Natalie lessons” were downright cruel, and I wanted her to wake up and smell the coffee.
As for Natalie, I just didn’t really connect with her. She realizes what is missing in her life and current relationship once she meets Michael. After she gets things straightened out and is able to convince Michael to move forward, she basically becomes a doormat and a slave to the feelings Michael can make her feel.
The writing: I enjoyed the style in which this was written. This was my first book by this author, and I was not disappointed with the technical side of things. There were times when things felt like they were dragged out a little too much, but for the most part, the story moves along at a good pace. Aside from my own personal issues stated above, the scenes were very hot and steamy, with lots of sexual tension. Perhaps Michael and Natalie will improve as their relationship grows. This is most likely a case of “it’s me, not you,” so I’ll recommend this to those who like their m/f a little bit darker and edgier with some major sexual tension and mild BDSM. ...more
You have to love when a series just continues to give you what you love, over and over again. We are now into Sea 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
You have to love when a series just continues to give you what you love, over and over again. We are now into Season Two, showing more and more of the goings on with the vampires, their hierarchy and world. As much as I loved seeing the goings on inside House of Théoden, I am really loving seeing how they do things in the grand scheme of things.
Here, the big event is King Ara’s crowning of Théoden as the new Prince of the City. He will now rule over the territories as King Ara takes half of the other Lords and a few others off to conquer a new territory in Europe. This story sets the stage for change, both for Théoden, as well as Noel. Théoden appoints his sons as Generals, above the other Lords setting the new chain of command. Everyone is still under strict rule to sire two new vampires, and the hunt for Dante, the wolf-hybrid, are made top priorities.
As for Noel, he is now officially at the hands of Marco, who is to train him as an enforcer and to hone his vampire skills. Unfortunately, Noel is sadly mistaken in his belief that his embracing will put him on a level playing field with his brothers. He learns more about Marco and his past, along with his connection to Théoden, which only reinforces his position over Noel, who is still learning to control his new powers. He is getting there, but he still has a ways to go.
It feels as though this world is just beginning to flourish. We are really getting to know the players now, and the events are really getting interesting. Oh, you still have oodles of hot, gritty sex and edgy dialog with a seriously pleasurable lack of fluff. But, this story is really beginning to take shape and is doing so in an exciting and colorful manner. No doubt, Nicholas is a fabulous storyteller with a real skill at world building. I’m super excited to see what happens as each new element is added. We have had a taste of the dragons (more, please!) and hints of run ins with the wolves. The addition of Dante should be quite the show, and I’m more than ready to see more of Théoden in action. Bring on the next segment!...more

This is one of the hottest short story series I’ve read in a very long time, and each one continues to provide just as much as the previous installments.
This picks up not long after the last, and we see Tad is still struggling within to understand his feelings for Scott, the physical and mental alike. I love that he is still having these little arguments with himself. It just seems very natural for someone who has never thought of being with the same sex up to this point. Tad cannot deny how he feels when he is with Scott, that he wants to be with him more and more, whether they are having amazing sex or not.
A big issue Tad is having is his friends. He knows he has to tell them at some point. He’s been blowing them off on their usual night to spend time with Scott, and things are going to come to a head at some point. Tad just really wants to make sure he understands what it is before he says anything. Is he officially bi? Is he actually gay? Is he only gay for Scott, since Scott’s the only one he has ever had any of these feelings about? In addition, Tad is still having issues over what happened with Max and the outburst about Tad being closeted. Fortunately, Scott is a patient man and realizes Tad is just trying to understand his new feelings.
The tables are turned a little bit in this one. The level of sexual tension and chemistry between Scott and Tad doesn’t change, but they do have a competition of sorts for dominance. Tad is determined to beat Scott at something and finally gets his chance when the two agree to wrestle it out. Even when it looks as though Tad is going to best him, Scott doesn’t seem worried. He is always Mr. Cool, Calm and In Control. Maybe he realizes the potential win/win situation, or in his case, lose/win, because lose he does, giving Tad control to pick his prize.
Tad chooses to top Scott. Sounds pretty easy, except this is Tad. Tad, who has zero experience with men other than what Scott has shown him. But, he is determined to see the experience through. I loved getting to see the other side of things, both with Tad and with Scott in the different positions, again both physical and mental. There is no question that when these guys come together, they are off-the-charts hot, no matter who is directing.
As with the previous books, though not quite as drastic this time around, this one ends on a somewhat “oh, no, WTF, don’t end there” moment. I could seriously read about these two all day long and never get tired. Their dialog is fabulous, their chemistry and sexual tension can be felt through the pages, and I really want to see them through these little issues holding them back. Waiting for these two to actually kiss leaves me gasping. I love watching Tad work through it all and how it doesn’t just fix itself in his mind overnight. The series name says it all – this is Tad’s erotic journey of discovery, and I hope he is able to keep up so that Scott is there at the end of it.
The only things I do not love about this story are how Tad calls Scott dude or the dude so much, and that I wish they were longer. Ms. Knight has a style that I love and will drop what I’m doing to read. I don’t ever want this series to end, but I look forward to whatever else Ms. Knight might send our way. ...more
This is a story about sex trafficking, sex slaves to be exact, and the story is one of first-hand experience.
It starts with Susannah, an FBI agent who's goal is to crack open and take down a group of sex traffickers. Susannah is a rookie who is currently contemplating if she actually wants to stay with the FBI. She is also currently lusting after her young neighbor, an 18 year old genius she has friended. Jasper also has quite a crush on Susannah, but Susannah has kept things on the friend level due to their age difference. Jasper has a submissive streak and is drawn to Susannah's dominant nature.
When things go horribly wrong, Jasper is taken by the very people Susannah has been after. He spends 10 months transforming into a sex slave for the head of the operation. While some details are given, most is somewhat glossed over, so while the events are horrific, they weren't too difficult to get through. Jasper is basically forced to be everything at the whim of the evil Victor, and his training to get to that point is harsh and brutal.
In the meantime, Susannah is barely living. She has honed her skills as a dominant, though while she takes on clients and sessions, she keeps everything professional. She has been staying with her brother and his lover who uses his wealth and resources to eventually find and recover Jasper.
Jasper barely manages to make it through his rescue. The urge to follow the directions of his trainer and master are strong, but he pulls it off. What follows is the next segment wherein Susannah and the others try to heal Jasper and bring him back to a semblance of normalcy. It's not easy, especially as there are a few dominants in the household (Susannah's brother-in-law and his best friend/head of security) making it difficult for Jasper given his recent experiences. Understandably, it isn't easy for Jasper to adjust, but this was my favorite part of the story to see play out.
This is a long story that could have easily been told in three parts, although it was nice not to have to wait for it all. There are times that Susannah was a little frustrating and tiresome. Her constant musings about Jasper's age, then about getting him in her playroom (after his ordeal) seemed really out of place. That said, when I really enjoyed when she and Jasper were together, whether she was in charge, or she was allowing him to be.
There are a few other things that you had to sort of just set aside as rather unlikely, but if you can do that, this is a very well put together story. It kept my interest, and had a big enough variety to keep me turning pages. There was a bit of dark, a bit of sweet, some twists, turns, mystery and suspense, and a bit of action to boot. Both the m/f aspects, as well as the m/m, were all very well written. I will definitely be looking for more from these two authors in the future....more

I’ve pretty much fallen for the Sutton Family at this point. If you haven’t met them yet, I strongly urge you to go back and read their previous stories – A Christmas Memory 1 and A Christmas Memory 2.
These lovely little stories are about more than just Adam and J.J.; they are really about the Sutton family as a whole. Things continue here with Adam and J.J. front and center planning their Valentine’s surprises for each other. But there is now Thad in the mix, who is fretting a bit about taking the next step with his boyfriend. He goes to Adam for advice and help with his plan to make things happen. Luckily for him, Adam and J.J. have both booked the same hotel package, so they offer one to Thad, rounding out the plans with them doing a sort of double date.
There are fun family moments with dance lessons, etc., but poor Thad is still having some underlying abandonment issues where his original family is concerned. After Thad learns of his ex-family’s continuing plans to force him into conversion therapy, the Sutton family bands together, circles the wagons and prepares to fight. Things get a little exciting here as Thad’s ex-family makes their move. It gets a little hairy for a while, but justice is served on a platter, and the celebratory dessert plans commence.
There really is so much to love about this family, and the way they stick together and take care of each other is a joy to see. I think this was my favorite of the three, as there is less focus on the younger children and more on the adult and teenage relationships. Hard to imagine parents helping you with your deflowering plans, but it really seemed to fit here.
I definitely recommend this wonderful little holiday story, as well as the previous two. They are just the right amount of sweet, funny and sexy with a little drama and angst thrown in. You will no doubt zip right through them as I did and wish for more story at the end. ...more

This was a great follow up to A Christmas Memory. It’s been a year since we last saw Adam and JJ. They are now settling into their new married life together and are about to make some new memories at the next Christmas. JJ is still becoming accustomed to being surrounded by such a warm and loving family, but the Suttons sure do make it easy. I can’t imagine anyone not wanting to be around a family like them. There are laughs, teasing, and just general fun when they are all together proving that family is what you make it. We learn a little more about JJ and his past, but the focus here is really on how the family sticks together.
There are also a few side stories here. The homophobic ex-fiancé of Matt is also back, unfortunately, though Maggie and her boys quickly put her in her place once again. The bigger addition is Thad, a student at the school where Adam and JJ teach. His religious extremist parents threw home out on the street when he told them he was gay, and this is where Adam and JJ find him. With things being shuffled around in the Sutton family, Maggie ends up being in the perfect position to take Thad in. Of course, the rest of the Sutton clan take to him as well, and he is enveloped in Sutton love. I really enjoyed this part of the story.
This is another quick afternoon read that centers around the Christmas holiday. I can’t believe I’m reading more sweet and fluffy from Mr. Vos (and enjoying it!), but he really does a nice job. This is definitely more than just a short Christmas story though, and with the somewhat open ending, I’m looking forward to seeing these guys and their wonderful family again. ...more
This is a really sweet story. After Dean loses his best friend and stepbrother in the war, he decides to be a pen 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
This is a really sweet story. After Dean loses his best friend and stepbrother in the war, he decides to be a pen pal to another soldier as a way to deal with his loss. He ends up writing to Ryder, and the two begin a relationship that spans about a year through letters and phone calls. Unfortunately, before they can finally connect, Ryder is wounded and sent home to recover.
I really enjoyed the pen pal correspondence and watching these guys learn about each other. Their feelings grow, and they both feel as though they are perfect for each other. However, before they have the opportunity to meet, Ryder decides Dean doesn’t deserve a broken man, etc. and cuts off contact. Thankfully, a “friend” of Ryder clues Dean in, and he wastes no time in making sure Ryder realizes he is in love with the man from the letters and that his injuries are not an issue. They still struggle a bit, as they adjust to their new life, but it is these little things that I enjoyed seeing.
Dean’s family is fantastic. His “mom” is also the mother of the best friend he lost, having adopted him when he was a teen and that friend saved him from life on the streets. Dean’s original family is worthless, but Mama Beth and Jessie both make up for it. They take Ryder into the family as one of their own and are there when things get tough.
I love soldier stories, and stories where they are no longer soldiers but find new lives for themselves when forced to give up the only career they thought they’d have. It is easy to understand how they must feel when faced with such changes on top of their disabilities. If only they were all lucky enough to find someone like Dean who is so willing and determined to help them overcome.
There were definitely things here that just seemed a bit over the top that threw me out of the story. So much happened to these guys, it was one thing after another, starting with Dean’s childhood, his family, losing his friend, etc. Then there are crazy ex’s, jealous crushes that came out of nowhere, etc. These guys have been building up their sexual tension for over a year, though we didn’t really see that in the letters, so it was somewhat expected that they’d be all over each other when they finally meet. However, it was hard to imagine a guy still recovering from an amputated leg getting it on in the hospital. I suppose anything could happen, but these things just added up and took away from the story.
Setting those things aside, this was still a really sweet story, and I enjoyed many aspects of it. It kept me interested until the end and feeling satisfied when I got there. This was my first book by this author, but I’m definitely going to look at more of her work.

They were initially separated when Shay’s evil father forced them apart by making life hell for Shay and Trofim, as well as Trofim’s family. His father basically stopped at nothing to make sure his point got across that he would not have a gay son. Fearing the safety of himself and his family, Trofim left and dove into his modeling career overseas. He eventually returned, but it was about a year before Shay was able to make his move again.
Shay comes across as demanding and selfish at first, but it quickly becomes clear how much he loves Trofim, and vice versa. Shay has been interning at the hospital (underneath Trofim’s brother, Pavle) and with only a few months left before that ends, he feels he will be free and clear of his father and able to fully support himself, even though his father has been withholding money from him. Needless to say, Shay and Trofim decide their love is too strong to give up on, and so they carry on reigniting their passionate relationship as they bide their time.
But things don’t go well for them, as you can imagine. Shay’s father doesn’t stay quiet for long before he starts causing problems again. This causes Trofim to seek other help in the form of Dominus Leos. Being back in the club and seeing the guys was one of my favorite parts of this story. Unfortunately, even though they end up playing a big role here, we only get glimpses of them. They end up being more involved in the master plan than expected, with Trenton in the crosshairs and Diesel having some mystery person looking out for him. We never really got closure or even very many details where these things were concerned, and I found I was longing for more of their story. I’ve wanted more of Diesel since day one, and the unsolved mystery surrounding him, as well as things that were hinted at in this story, only solidified that feeling.
As for Trofim and Shay? Well, they are really sweet together. I was rooting for them the whole time, wanting to hug and cry over the details of Shay’s abuse from his father and then hug and cry in outrage over Trofim’s later issues. There are some things that were a bit hard to believe which took place in the hospital, but really, the love and caring of the Laszkovi brothers and of Trofim and Shay just shone through.
As with the previous books, I really enjoyed this one and cannot wait for the next one. I’m really hoping for more Diesel and possibly Paris, but look forward to wherever this story might lead....more
This is the first book in the House of Théoden series, which is a continuation of the Chained in Darkness series. 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
This is the first book in the House of Théoden series, which is a continuation of the Chained in Darkness series. You could probably figure things out if you started here, but you really need to read from the beginning to get the total picture.
At this point, Noel has been officially branded into Théoden’s household. To celebrate his branding, Théoden has granted the brothers free reign for the night, which, of course, means lots of sex with each other. Noel still has thoughts of confusion over his new feelings of wanting and even desiring the sex, blood and killing of his new vampire nature, but the brothers continue to force him to face that reality head on. No question the sex is hot here. It’s dark and dirty and just a tiny bit kinky. These guys feed off of and even require it. It was nice to see some new dynamics that we haven’t yet been privy to, such as Bruce and Marco pairing up. However, while the scenes are always well written and highly erotic, I do get feelings of being ready to move on to the story.
Just about when those feelings are peaking, we move on to Théoden, who has been away for the evening, attending to a summons by his King. Things get interesting here. The King has called a meeting of the 5 Lords, all of which are sired by him. It would seem history had been somewhat repeating itself with Noel much in the same way Théoden became a part of King Ara’s brood. Anyhoo, we meet some of the other “brothers”, and after a bit of posturing and pleasantries, we finally get to the gist of the meeting. Things they are a changing, as King Ara has his sights set on taking over a new territory in Greece. New rules/tasks are put upon Théoden, the first of which is to acquire a rogue wolf/human hybrid and make him a part of Théoden’s House. All of the plans lead toward making King Ara and his reign stronger, but it will be interesting to see how smoothly things go.
I love seeing the little details about the various creatures. Théoden is half dragon, so he has very different qualities than his fellow full vampire brothers. We are shown a little more of his capabilities here, not relating to sex, which give further credence to his strength and power. I can’t wait to find out more or to see more of him in action now that things are being taken beyond the “bedroom.”
This continues to be an exciting, fast-paced and very interesting series. I’m really looking forward to becoming more immersed into this engaging world and hope Nicholas continues to expand on it more and more as the series progresses....more

There were so many things I loved about this book. The blurb called to me right away and it didn’t take long for this to really grab my attention.
First, you have Harper, finally out of prison for doing a crime he didn’t commit, labeled a sexual predator forever. These stories always sort of fascinate me in a way. Not the sexual predator side, but the ones about those accused but not actually guilty. Their lives are forever changed, and I guess I enjoy seeing how they overcome those obstacles. Harper is starting by trying to fix up his father’s old house, a father who hasn’t acknowledged him since his incarceration and who now has the beginning signs of Alzheimer’s.
Then we have Malachi, who finally separates from his controlling ex, Conrad, only to be forced to live with his sister and her jerk of a husband after losing his journalist job. He now has to sleep in basically a big junk-filled closet, is only allowed to use the rest of the house (kitchen, shower, etc.) at certain times when said jerk husband sees fit. So, he is struggling a bit. After a fruitless job search due to his lack of skills, he finally finds work with a general contractor. This is how he meets Harper.
I absolutely loved these guys together. Harper, while angry and depressed over his situation, is still somewhat cool and collected, seemingly having it all together, even after everything he’s been through. He is really just trying to lay low and get his life back on track. Malachi is a crazy hot mess. He’s a chatty Kathy on crack the more he gets nervous, anxious, etc. I chuckled out loud more than once at his antics and banter. They also had great sexual tension that just exploded when they actually got down to it.
Malachi uses his journalist skills to try and uncover the mystery surrounding Harper’s set up. There is a lot going on here with this, along with the ramifications involved for Harper if anyone finds out he is in any way investigating. There are some twists and turns, intense moments and steamy sexual chemistry. Speaking of interesting twists, I’d love to see a further story with Conrad. This was a very enjoyable and memorable read and one that will keep Ms. Elsborg on my auto-read list. ...more
I’d like to say you never quite know what you’re going to get when you open a new Kol book, but that wouldn’t be 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
I’d like to say you never quite know what you’re going to get when you open a new Kol book, but that wouldn’t be entirely true. There are a few certainties, not the least of which is a deliciously twisted, head spinning tale. Beyond that, I was not real sure what I’d get with this latest offering.
The story is told by Justin, a somewhat down on his luck guy who has it bad for Daniel, the guy who basically uses him for a quickie here and there, when it’s good for him. But Justin has other plans, plans to “woo” Daniel, force him to take notice that there is more that Justin is able to offer him. Even after Justin witnesses Daniel’s other activities, he is not deterred, but only more committed to being with Daniel.
The two carry on in a somewhat Thelma & Louise manner as the story progresses. There is actually a bit of romance, it is about a psycho serial killer and his sidekick, after all. They stick by each other’s side through thick and thin and right to the very end. Circumstances prevent these two from riding off into the proverbial sunset, but I absolutely loved how the ending wrapped up.
This quick read will have you on the edge of your seat and even perhaps rooting for the bad guy in the end. The epilogue was fantastic and was the icing on the cake of this creepy little tale. It’s short, but more than worth the $.99 price tag, and I definitely recommend it if you think it might be your kind of story. ...more

I really fell in love with this story. I was a bit unsure at first of what direction it was taking, as the blurb doesn’t really tell you much. But, it didn’t take long for me to warm right up to it and settle in for the ride.
Desdemona Darkly is the successful on-line sex toy company owned by Mickey and his ex-partner of 8 years, Dag. Mickey has been a bit of a workaholic in the past, and while it played a big part in the demise of his and Dag’s relationship, it payed off where the company was concerned.
When a delay at the customs office brings Mickey into contact with the sexy kilt wearing Scotsman, Hugh, things really start to get moving. Hugh is the sexy, divorced, father of twin teenage boys. He moved from Scotland when he was fourteen so doesn’t really have an accent, but his brogue shines through here and there, just enough to really add to his allure.
After a rocky start, Hugh and Mickey hit it off and begin their relationship rather slowly, with a fabulous first date and quite a few dates as well before they take things to the next level. Mickey turns out to be not what he appeared. He is a bit nerdy, but is a feisty little guy able to hold his own when necessary. The tables are turned even further when it turns out Mickey is more of a top.
There are some issues with Dag, however. It seems he has basically been cockblocking Mickey for quite some time and is none too happy about the new developments with Hugh. I wasn’t much of a Dag fan throughout this story. He does his best to try and cause problems with Mickey and Hugh. Thankfully, with the help of Hugh’s ex and Mickey’s sister, the two prevail.
Hugh’s kids also add a few problems. They’re having a little trouble adjusting to their parents finding significant others, dealing with their own sexuality issues, and just being teenagers. Mickey has had some trouble adjusting to the insta-family as well. It was nice to see these problems and how they worked out. Everything with the kids is written in such a way that feels very realistic and ends up being quite enjoyable. I loved watching Hugh deal with his sons.
This is my favorite story by Mr. Ortiz to date. It is a smooth reading, engrossing story that I didn’t want to put down. It is funny, sexy and sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot wait to read more and really hope to see more of Mickey and Hugh. ...more

This was an interesting shifter story. It’s pretty rough, with Wyatt being kidnapped by his own brother and thrown to the wolves.
In this world, which unfortunately, we don’t learn much about, the wolves rule, and during their 3 day lunar phase, they pretty much sate themselves on whatever humans are sacrificed or found in their territory. If the humans gain favor in the form of protection from a particular wolf, they are claimed and safe from other wolves and the humans they return to. Again, we don’t learn too much about what is actually going on in the human side of things.
Wyatt is a successful lawyer, but I was really unclear as to how things played out on that end. Taking it from the point where Wyatt is dropped off and recovered by the wolf pack, things get heated pretty quick. He has basically decided to give in and submit in the hopes he will survive his time with the wolves. He is also hoping to gain favor in the form of a wolf token. His time with the wolves is pretty rough. He is basically raped and treated as a sex toy, until the alpha, Cole, takes a particular liking to him.
Things are pretty hairy (ha!) as the lunar phase passes. Cole gives Wyatt some blood, amping up Wyatt’s lust and senses, they mate while Cole is in wolf form (knotting and all), and Wyatt realizes he wants to win Cole’s favor.
This isn’t a fluffy romance, so I’d say it isn’t quite for the faint at heart. But if you like things a little on the darker side, there is a lot to like. The scenes with the wolves are all very well done. The story reads very quickly and even has a twist here and there to make things a little more interesting.
The biggest issue for me is that I wish it had been longer with more detail given to the world building and a little more drawn out at the end as well. ...more

There are a few things that are unique about this story, which I really enjoyed. One thing is Patrick is a longshoreman, which is the guy up in the big crane who loads the containers on the cargo ships. I always find it interesting to see new things in books, so I enjoyed reading the details about this one.
The other is that Jay is a messed up kid who continually gets in trouble. It’s his outlet that I found interesting. He is a graffiti addict. He paints his “art” on buildings usually to cover up gang tags and other less desirable graffiti. Graffiti is still graffiti though, so he has quite a lengthy juvenile record.
Ken is the guy assigned to be Jay’s “probation officer,” though they don’t call it that. After realizing his immediate attraction to Patrick was going to be a problem, he tried to get reassigned. Circumstances prevented that from happening, so they tried to keep things professional until Ken’s time was up.
There is mystery involving some things that go down on Patrick’s job that get in the way of things, but generally, this was about Ken and Patrick trying to keep Jay from reoffending. It seemed there was more they could have done here and there, even though they tried to get him refocused on other things. I was hoping they’d find another place for him to safely do his graffiti art. Corbin’s father and owner of the gym mentioned having walls that were in need of something. Seemed like a lost opportunity to me, and there didn’t seem to be any closure where this was concerned.
I also wish we had seen a bit more of Patrick and Jay’s relationship. Jay is a teen at this point, so it may be that was why I had trouble feeling their connection/bond. They had quite a history though, with Jay’s mother and Patrick’s ex, but it took a while to get the details, which I found a little frustrating.
All in all, I did enjoy this quite a bit. It read very smoothly, had hot sexy moments, a good bit of action and suspense, and it kept my interest through to the end. I’d really like to see a follow up to this, maybe with Corbin finding the right guy. He’s quite a unique character, and it will take someone pretty special to be able to catch him....more
Right off the bat, I was worried I was going to have trouble with this one. A much younger, damaged, almost completely i A review by The Blogger Girls.
Right off the bat, I was worried I was going to have trouble with this one. A much younger, damaged, almost completely inexperienced, sub and a club owning, older, Master Dom, don’t usually work very well for me. But, I stuck it out and was glad I did.
Callum, the Master Dom, has bought a somewhat shady club (Spanks) and is in the process of turning it into a new, classier and safer club (Pure). During the change over, he rescues Lee, who, after being thrown out by his abusive stepfather, takes the offer of a room in exchange for doing a scene with what turns out to be a sadistic psycho from the old club who claims to be a Dom.
Lee is in pretty rough shape, but Callum takes care of him, helps him heal, offers him a place to stay and eventually offers to train him. Callum has taken an instant liking to Lee, but he lays it out on the table that they cannot have a relationship. He instead agrees to a three-month contract where he will show Lee the ropes of being a sub so that he will be able to find a suitable dom.
Much of the BDSM in this is light, as Callum and Lee only really work on the basics. Lee’s injuries prevent them from doing any actual scenes, but Lee is eager to learn and please and quickly has Callum wrapped around his little finger. Lee shows how helpful he can be with the designing and decorating for the new club, and the two find they work pretty well together. Callum ends up giving Lee more and more say as time goes on, even to the point of giving him control over the new boutique being added at Lee’s suggestion (Indulgence).
There are a few bumps here and there as jealousy flares, but Callum is a bit bowled over by Lee. So much so, that he finds himself willing to give up the club entirely when circumstances force Lee to question his ability to be in that environment. It was a bit difficult at first to picture Callum, this big, in control Dom, basically fall for and turn into a puppy for Lee, but it really works in this situation. The two care for each other, and it shows in various ways.
This was a very easy read, and I think people a bit newer to the BDSM genre will absolutely love it. It was well written, with sexy and emotional scenes, action and excitement and some sweet and tender moments. I’m looking forward to seeing where this story goes next. ...more
What a unique story this was. Unique in the way it is told, in the voices of the characters, the setting, etc. I completel Review by The Blogger Girls.
What a unique story this was. Unique in the way it is told, in the voices of the characters, the setting, etc. I completely felt as though Dresden was telling us this story, and he is a gem of a character. I absolutely fell in love with him, flaws and all, and adored his underlying quirky charm and humor - it is done in such a way that he isn't trying to be that way, he just is. I don't know how else to describe it.
Dresden has quite a few issues, all of which are related in some way to his family. His father dying, his mother trying to pick up the pieces, his brother's violent nature and subsequent actions with Dres, all play a major role in his current actions. He has failed out of high school, months prior to graduation and has little to no direction for the future. His brother, Gunner, was shipped off to boot camp as a way to deal with his issues, but that leaves the rest behind still struggling. Dres chose to tell his mother about what happened with Gunner, and it changed her whole demeanor towards Dres. My heart was breaking for him so many times. He was such a confused soul and I wanted to wrap him up in giant hugs.
But then he meets Caleb, who is such a sweet guy. He's dealing with a few issues of his own regarding his grandparents' deaths, but really, they pale in comparison to what Dres is dealing with. What happens over the course of their growing friendship/relationship is wonderful. They each fill a void the other has been feeling for quite some time. Caleb calms the violent and self-destructive desires in Dres, and Dres brings Caleb out of his self-imposed shell. I loved these guys together as they explored each other. Caleb tried very hard to provide for and be what Dres needed, especially concerning sex. Nothing was too strange an idea for him to give a try, even if he was somewhat uncomfortable with the scenarios at the time. At the same time, while there is some sex, much of it is off page or not detailed, yet you have a perfect idea of what is happening or has happened.
Caleb and Dres go through some ups and downs as Dres works through his problems, but I was rooting for them the entire time. Some things Dres just had to try and fix on his own, and Caleb gave him the time to do it, always being there for him no matter what. Dres is not ok overnight. He's not even ok at the end, but he is definitely on a better path. I do wish there had been a bit more resolution where Gunner was concerned, since that played such a big part in Dres' mental stability.
This was a heartbreaking tale, but there is sweetness and humor as well, and I devoured every word. The picture that is painted of these guys is so clear that I could just about hear them talking in my head. Every disappointment, every discovery, I was wanting to lift Dres up and tell him it would be ok. I could not read this fast enough, but I was certainly not ready to let them go. I highly recommend this engaging story....more
This is a hot little quickie and interesting start to a new series.
We meet Kyle, a young man who has just not been able to find the right kind of guy to be with. Everyone so far has been just a bit too prim and proper. But, Kyle has a new stepbrother, Nick, who is not real happy with his father’s new family, resulting in his moving away.
Kyle learns a few things about Nick though when he finds some of Nick’s things in the garage. Things that lead him to believe Nick is exactly the kind of guy he’s looking for. When a chance encounter brings these two together, we get to see it all play out.
This is a super fast read. The boys don’t take very long to get going, and it seems as though they know each other one minute, but haven’t had much contact in the next. Either way, Kyle is ready to take whatever Nick is willing to dish out. What we were shown so far was really hot, but I am worried it has the potential for disaster. Hopefully that isn’t the case, and I’m hoping we don’t have to wait too long to find out. I’m looking forward to getting a bit more into Nick and Kyle’s heads as we see more of them together. Bring on book 2!...more

Leslie “Red” is a gorgeous redheaded rentboy. He has become accustomed to the lifestyle being a higher priced rentboy has afforded him, but, something is missing.
Kirk is an average looking guy, not super fit or stylish, etc. He takes his mother’s advice/dying wish for him to do something crazy with the money she left him, so he decides to buy the time of Red, whom he met recently. Kirk is really sweet, innocent and inexperienced, and can’t believe Red is with him, even if he is paying for it. But when Red actually wants to spend time with him outside the job, he is a bit stunned.
Red is realizing that he actually likes spending time with Kirk. He is a bit confused about his own feelings regarding his profession, finding it harder and harder to keep his two lives separated. Has he become Red to be the rentboy, or is Leslie who he is while working? Red/Les and Kirk have more in common than first appears, and though it takes some time, Red/Les realizes Kirk is one of the few people he has been or wants to be Les with. As the two spend more and more time together, their friendship grows, and though they never really discuss it, Kirk seems to be ok with Red’s job. He seems to realize that things are different when Red is with him than when Red is working.
So, this story was a bit about discovery and what was important beyond the superficial. I found it a quick and easy read. I am a sucker for rentboy stories, and I really enjoyed reading this short story. There are some flashbacks showing how Les became Red and got his start in the business. I’m not generally a flashback fan, but, since this is one the aspects I find interesting, it was something I ended up liking. I’d definitely recommend this if you’re a rentboy fan and are looking for a feel good afternoon read. This is my first book by Mr. Thomas, but it definitely won’t be my last. ...more

Every time I have needed a fluff break, needed something to sink my teeth into, something that makes me feel, and I have opened a Lynn Kelling book, I have gotten exactly what I needed and have yet to be disappointed.
I feel kind of ridiculous feeling like I need to say heed the warnings, but seriously, people, heed the warnings. They are there for a reason – either to warn you off, or, in my case, lure me in.
Poor Tucker is a success, but that is what you see on the outside. Even his best friend doesn’t ever see beyond the happy country rock star façade. But, we get to see in full color detail. It takes a while for the whole picture to be shown, but we do get it, though it was a frustrating wait at times. Tucker essentially took one for the team, many times, in a big and extremely detrimental to himself way. He seems to have things together now, until he receives little reminders that bring everything back in his mind. He was taken great advantage of and has suffered horrible abuse, but beyond that, he is suffering from his own self-hate and guilt, and he punishes himself in different ways because of it.
Added to these troubles is the fact that he has basically been forced into the closet. His fear of losing it all if anyone finds out, let alone if anyone finds out about the other stuff, just about drives him down a road of no return. He has feelings for his best friend and band mate, Mags, but suffers through countless threesomes with women as his only way of being close to Mags in that way. Eventually, he is unable to do even that.
Mags doesn’t see any of this, however, his other band mate, Jess, does. He knows something deep is bothering Tucker, but try as he might, he cannot get Tucker to confide in him. But he does the next best thing and makes sure he is there for him and never gives up in his quest to help and get Tucker to talk to him.
This story has ups and downs, but it is very well written. Just when you think you know all of the details, more are told. You will want to wrap Tucker up in a big comforting hug and not let go until all of his demons are vanquished and he is mentally and physically healed. You will want him to finally find peace and happiness, and you will want him to find that with Jess. I know I did, and while it was a hard road to get there, it was worth the journey for me. ...more

What a great start to a new series this is. Picture something along the lines of Sons of Anarchy, with a hot, alpha, sexy gay twist.
Lock is a biker who is a bounty hunter on the side. When a chase leads him into a gay BDSM club, he is terrified. He is closeted and in denial about his interest in men, but those thoughts are put aside fairly quickly once someone takes particular interest in him and he ends up getting a BJ in a back room. Unfortunately, they are interrupted by the blower’s boyfriend.
Turk is the boyfriend who caught his lover blowing Lock. He doesn’t realize who Lock is until he runs into him outside of the club. Turk is closeted as well, given he is the VP of a motorcycle gang, though he knows he’s gay and just does his best to hide it from his fellow bikers. When he realizes who Lock is, things get volatile very quickly.
Now, there is some cat and mouse activity going on with Turk suspicious of Lock where some MC business is concerned, but things play out and these guys quickly realize they have some amazing chemistry going on. Boy, do they ever. Turk considers himself a power bottom in a sense that he prefers to bottom, but also prefers to be the one in control. He works Lock like a finely tuned instrument, making Lock forget all about his hang ups. He teases and denies, edges and then blows Lock away, many times. Talk about some hot sex scenes!
Turk and Lock are quickly thrown into a tizzy with blackmail and planting drugs, kidnapping by a drug kinpin, set ups and more set ups, killings and shoot outs. Through this, their feelings grow and the heavy burden of their respective positions in rival clubs looms overhead. After finding some other gay bikers looking for a club to fit in with, a plan forms. What comes out at the end is a whole new MC rising out of the ashes with Turk and Lock at the reins – the Bent Zealots. While we didn’t get to see too much of Lock’s club, Turk’s is pretty great. He leaves in good standing with most, if not all, not wanting him to leave. The future looks very promising for a prosperous relationship with them.
There are some great side characters as well that will play a bigger part of the new club. All in all though, this was an exciting fast read that was gritty and dark at times, but sweet, sexy and loving at others. This is a first time for me reading Ms. Wolfe, but it won’t be my last, as I cannot wait for this story to continue.
