Things are starting to roll now, as Sid brings Larry and the rest of his team on board with his take down plans. At the same time, Jack is working his plans to get closer to Sid and work some more of his manipulations. Just when you think these two are closer to making something happen with each other, there is another twist that keeps it from happening.
Meanwhile, there are other things at play as well. Seems Jack isn’t the only one watching Sid. There are some other hi-tech parties involved making things even more interesting.
Just when you think you have a grasp of what’s in play here, there’s yet another turn of events, and new characters sort of introduced showing yet another aspect. Everyone appears to be being manipulated or played by someone else. There are eyes on everyone but we still don’t really know who the players are besides Sid and Jack.
This series is very intriguing and exciting. It is fast-paced and a real page turner. I easily read them in one sitting and am left eagerly looking forward to the next. If you like stories that you have to try and figure out, with mystery, intrigue and sexy build up, be sure to get this on your list....more

I’ve been a fan of the Hammer series for a long time. I believe Sean Michael is my most read author because of that, as there are an awful lot of books in that series. There is always something that I like or long for, but unfortunately, they don’t all seem to have it.
The sex is always hot, the BDSM scenes, while sometimes repetitive, are always well done, and the characters are usually easy to fall in love with. They all have that same short monosyllable style dialog, which gets a bit tiresome, but the stories all have a little something to love.
This story was a bit different. It takes place mostly outside the club scene, as Storm’s only contact with BDSM or the lifestyle is the club members patronizing his bakery. Zeb is a club member and Dom who sees something in sweet Storm and wants to know more even given his lack of experience in something so important to Zeb.
There wasn’t much these guys had in common, besides sex, and there weren’t any conflicts to overcome, other than the previously mentioned lack of experience on Storm’s part. I had a very difficult time connecting with these characters. Zeb, of course, saw Storm as a natural sub, but I felt this was more of him projecting his wants and needs. They did keep the BDSM very light which was fitting, but there just wasn’t anything else to wow about here.
A few other Hammer characters show up here and there, but not nearly enough to up the interest level. Unfortunately, while a sweet story, this one just didn’t work for me....more
We met the sexy bartender, Mason, in the previous book, and I was really loo 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
Family drama abounds in this segment.
We met the sexy bartender, Mason, in the previous book, and I was really looking forward to his story. He’s a great guy, living his dream of owning and operating his own bar. But, there’s more to his story. He is supposed to have taken over his family’s fancy restaurants, yet he has no desire to do so. Mason’s got a great family, but he also has issues with something they withheld from him.
Gavin is Braden’s friend and ex from way back. He’s a super nice guy who has gotten a few raw deals. First, his family has issues with his being gay, so they just pretend he isn’t. Then, he is forced to leave his teaching job after helping a young guy student. So, he is a bit lost when he meets Mason, who offers him a bartending job while he figures out a plan.
These guys keep things pretty low key for the most part, neither really looking for anything serious at the moment. It works for them, and their feelings grow as they explore each other. They were sweet and funny and sexy, and they had a lot of really hot smexy sex. Mason is quite bossy in the bedroom, which I loved. Gavin’s got a pretty amazing tongue and puts those skills to use with lots of rimming. One of my favorite things about this story was how Mason would always say things to Gavin like “Gavin, I think this is one of those times you kiss me.”
We also get to see the guys from the previous books a bit, which is always nice. I was a bit unsure about Mason’s long-time friend and jealous ex, Isaac. He is a big part of the family and plays a big role in their restaurant business. For the most part, I was not a fan, but he had his moments, and I have a feeling his story might be coming soon.
So, this story didn’t wow me, nor did I enjoy it quite as much as the previous one. But it was still quite enjoyable while covering some different issues. These guys go through quite a bit, mostly on their own, before getting their HEA. In typical Riley Hart fashion, this story offers a little bit of everything, from moments of sadness to heartwarming scenes and a few in between, keeping Ms. Hart on my auto-read list....more
I’m a sucker for rent boy stories. Here, Hunter is a high end escort in Vegas, living the high life, or so he thinks. A A review by The Blogger Girlst.
I’m a sucker for rent boy stories. Here, Hunter is a high end escort in Vegas, living the high life, or so he thinks. After a rough start in life, he has become successful and rich by becoming a highly sought after escort. He has money, good looks and popularity, but he finds that he is lacking quite a bit when he runs into his old high school acquaintance, Grant.
Hunter meets grant in a club after Grant’s date ends up taking him to the back room where Grant was really not comfortable. The two reconnect, and their friendship grows. They face a few obstacles though, one of which being their respective occupations really not being good for one another. Grant is a teacher, and Hunter’s current occupation could have some very negative effects on Grant’s profession. Hunter is reluctant to tell Grant what he does, and it takes a while for him to come clean. But, the two have a connection, and after the truth comes out, Grant decides he can deal with Hunter’s job if he doesn’t put too much thought into it, so they decide to take things further.
It doesn’t take long for the issue to start causing problems for them. Between the danger some of Hunter’s jobs put him in and what that actually means as far as Grant’s job goes, they hit some pretty big bumps. Hunter struggles with wanting to keep Grant safe, not knowing if he wants or is able to give up the only job he has been successful at, how he feels when he is with Grant, and generally what is really important to him in the long run. Grant mostly struggles with the actualities of Hunter’s job, i.e. him being with other men.
I really enjoyed the actual struggles these guys faced. It seemed very real and honest, and I loved seeing how the two were together – how having sex was different with Grant than with his customers, etc. It was easy for me to feel the difference, but I could easily see how that didn’t matter in the long run.
This was a solid, easy read. It was fairly predictable, but well written and quite an enjoyable friends to lovers story. As with all of Andrew’s stories, this has a real genuine feel to it. Give this a try if you’d like to see how these guys decide if the price is worth it. I’m looking forward to seeing if some of the other guys figure it out as well....more
It was fun to get back with the Square Peg gang and nice to see things are going well for everyone and that Vin/P 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
It was fun to get back with the Square Peg gang and nice to see things are going well for everyone and that Vin/Patrick and Ben/Shane are still going strong.
This segment is about the Square Peg’s head cook, Dave, who has basically been keeping to himself after finally getting away from his crazy, drug addicted, mentally abusive, ex, Travis. He had pretty much let himself become a doormat for Travis, though the two shared a long history together. They’ve been apart for about a year and a half at this point, but Dave still feels he isn’t ready for any kind of relationship.
When Dave is almost run over by a car, he injures himself when he lands on the sidewalk. Jeremy happens to be there and helps him. Needing Jeremy’s help somewhat forces Jeremy into Dave’s life, but due to Dave’s reluctance to enter into a relationship, let alone with someone as young as Jeremy, Jeremy begrudgingly accepts friendship.
Jeremy is basically a loner too, unless you can count his cat. He spends his time building computers, which he does out of his apartment as a career. He is drawn to his new neighbor, wanting to help as much as he can just so he can spend time with him. Things go on like this for a while, and their friendship grows. But, it doesn’t take long before the big issue comes to light – Travis.
This is where I think the story turned for me. It wasn’t so much Travis and Dave’s past, because I actually enjoyed that part. But, things just seemed to not add up. They haven’t had contact for almost a year and a half. Dave has blocked him, changed his numbers and basically removed Travis from his life. Then, when Dave meets Jeremy, Travis is front and center being a crazy stalker. When things turn dangerous towards Jeremy, Dave realizes something needs to be done. Now, Dave is over with Travis – finished, stick a fork in him, done. But, they have like a 10 year history, so he has some remaining feelings. Still, he is very back and forth about the whole situation. Towards the end, there are certain events with Travis that send Dave into a world of despair, to the point of almost ruining his relationship with Jeremy. It seemed so drastic to me that I just wasn’t buying it. I think Travis just took too much of the spotlight away from Dave and Jeremy.
But, enough of that. Dave is a bit whiney, but once he got past the age deal, which took him a long time, these two were really great together. Jeremy was super sweet and cute and could not have been any more supportive of Dave and his endeavors, and the same can be said for his Square Peg friends/family. Luckily, Dave realizes this in the end, and things end on a good note.
For the reasons stated above, I did not enjoy this story as much as the previous two, but it was still quite good. I’m a big fan of this writing duo and really like their style. Again, it was great seeing the other characters again, and I’d definitely be interested in reading more from this world. ...more

This series continues to deliver time and again. This is the end of a season, and while we get much of what we loved from the previous books, there is a lot of development in this segment.
Noel is adjusting to life as a sire, caught with the realizations of who he has become and the fact that he believes he now likes what that is. Realizing his place in the House of Théoden and that Romeo and how Noel treats or deals with him is a direct reflection on the family.
With Dante now having been exchanged, Théoden is more than ready to bring him on board. Dante is even more against it than Noel was, however, so that may prove challenging in the coming days. Théoden has proven time and again that he is more than capable of handling anything though, so I'm excited to see where that leads.
So, the King's decree has been fulfilled with everyone having sired their vamps. Each seems to have found a really good match. The wolves and Théoden have fulfilled their promises thus far, and the alliance is beginning to grow. All is not quite as it seems though, as the wolves seem to be playing their own game. Question is whether it will force Théoden to act positively or negatively. Sure hope they know what they're doing. :D
As I have felt throughout this entire story, each book leaves me excited about what will happen or develop in the next. The covers are absolutely gorgeous, the crests and images all creating such a colorful world that you really feel a part of it. There is quite a bit of hot and raunchy sex, but it is the actual developments in the story that really keep me interested. Bring on Season Three! ...more
Wow. From the beginning to the very end, this was such an amazing story. I loved every word and did not want it to end.
From the very first chapter, as Emmet tells us about himself, I fell in love. What an amazing character. It really is difficult to describe how wonderful he is, but I’ll try. He has autism, but, with the help of an unbelievably supportive family, has found ways and mechanisms by which to cope fairly well with life. They have a series of codes, either gestures or different clothing, that speak for Emmet when he is unable to verbalize his feelings. He is a math wiz, but where he really excels is making everything in life work in the simplest way possible. I absolutely adored how he explained everything. From his research to execution and every attempt in between, I was head over heels.
Then he finally gets the opportunity to put his plan into motion and meet his neighbor, Jeremey. Jeremey is quite the opposite of Emmet in many ways. For starters, he looks “normal” on the outside. His issues are all internal, but, unlike Emmet, he has not found ways to cope with them. His family just wants him to be normal and believes it is merely within Jeremey’s power to wish the same and make it happen. They are quite detrimental to his well-being, almost disastrously so.
Emmet becomes the shining beacon in Jeremey’s life. They overcome obstacles together, whether their own issues, or issues as a couple. Seriously, these two could not be any sweeter. My heart warms every time I think about them. From their first real kiss, to their first tongue kiss and their sweet lovemaking, I was gushing. They take things very slowly; they don’t have actual penetrative sex until almost 95% because neither was ready, and when they finally do, it is absolutely perfect.
There are a lot of fabulous people in this book, with the exception of Jeremey’s parents, many who helped enable these boys to live an independent life which they strived for. From Emmet’s parents, to their doctor, to David and his father who built The Roosevelt, to Sally, the aid who’s always there for them. David becomes an important player, but they all play a part in supporting and helping Emmet and Jeremey overcome various obstacles.
This book totally touched my heart. I absolutely adored every word and cannot recommend it highly enough. It gives a totally different perspective on how people living with disabilities see things or even feel about those around them. I loved that we got the perspective of each character and could practically feel what they were going through. It is heartbreaking at times but so beautifully written. Both characters are completely endearing and sweet, especially together. I wanted to wrap this book up in a big hug and not let go. I’ll definitely not be forgetting about this one for a long time to come. ...more
Well, Mr. Deckard has managed to do it again with this third installment of the Baal’s Heart adventure. This was every b A review by The Blogger Girls.
Well, Mr. Deckard has managed to do it again with this third installment of the Baal’s Heart adventure. This was every bit as good, if not better in some ways, than the first two. The writing is unbelievably smooth, and the scenes just flow almost seamlessly from one to the next. It actually feels as though you are along for the ride with these guys, and what a ride it is.
This picks up where the previous one left off with the men heading back to Madierus for help in curing the Captain. Jon is the captain now, and it’s taking some adjustments on everyone’s part, including him, though I say he’s stepping up to the plate quite nicely. Of course, he has the every fabulous Tom by his side to help him along. Tom, what a breath of fresh air it is to hear him again. I actually like that they are still kind of struggling with their threesome given the circumstances they’ve encountered. Yet, they are all still on the same page of wanting to make it work. They face many obstacles, question things and each other, but still their desire and love for each other shines through. Even Captain B shows us some of his more emotional caring side every now and then.
One of the things I don’t generally enjoy are flashbacks…unless they are done right, as they most definitely are here. Through them, we gain insight on how things came to pass, learn more intimate details about the characters and how events unfolded, and they all just added a lot of color to this already colorful story. Again, everything flowed very smoothly. It was like doing a dance, taking a few steps forward, then one step back to fill in some details, then a few more steps forward. Very well done.
Another thing I absolutely loved were the chapter titles and chosen quotes at the beginning of the various chapters. Honestly, I often don’t read these, but I looked forward to and loved every one, finding they each fit perfectly with the corresponding chapter.
This story is truly an adventure through an amazing world created with the help of tantalizing words, beautiful imagery, and is just one heck of a good story. I happily savored every word and was not ready for their story to end. Thankfully, it seems Mr. Deckard isn’t quite ready either and has given us a nice teaser at the end of more to come in this fabulous world. This was a perfect end to one of my all-time favorite fantasy series....more

I have been a big fan of this series and fell in love with all three guys, most especially James. So, it was a big comforting feeling to start this and see how they are making out these days.
It’s been a few years now that they have all been living together, and things seem to be going pretty well. They all seem to have found their place with each other which was really great to see. These guys all love each other and manage to do so with very little to no jealousy or drama.
There isn’t nearly as much BDSM in this as I remember being in the others. For starters, this is really more of the guys in their day-to-day lives with more comfort and cuddling. Second, James has a bit of an accident which lays him up a bit. This makes things a bit interesting though, in that James is not one to sit idly by without participating. One of the things I enjoyed here was watching James come up with ways to work around his lack of mobility, especially during scenes. There is more of a sentimental feel to this one, as the guys celebrate James’ birthday, the holiday, as well as deal with some eye-opening experiences.
Another thing I really enjoyed about this, and the series in general, is how well this relationship works. There is give and take by each involved, and everyone gets their needs met. The BDSM aspects feel very realistic to me, as I never have a feeling of it being cheesy or hokey. Even the aspects I am not always particularly fond of, such as the puppy play, are done in a way that made me feel ok, even if I still don’t quite understand it. I realized that I don’t need to, just as Tate doesn’t need to. It’s enough that it is what Sebastian needs and enjoys. It is James that is able to provide that for Sebastian and offer the stability for Tate to be more comfortable with it too.
Overall, this was a wonderful conclusion to their story. While I wasn’t totally blown away by it, I don’t think I’d ever tire of reading about these guys, and James remains one of my favorite Doms. Their stories are well written and extremely enjoyable with a realistic and believable feel to them. I’m looking forward to whatever Ms. Lister comes up with next. ...more

Wow, I had a feeling this one was going to be good, and I was not disappointed. I absolutely fell in love with LLew, and Shane wasn’t too shabby either.
Llew is such a sweet guy. He spent 8 years in prison after being accused of rape by his high school (closeted) boyfriend after his parents caught them together. Add to that the fact that he was dominating him and had him tied up at the time, did not help matters any. With his boyfriend, Moss, being 17 at the time, Llew was labeled a child molester. This did not bode well for him in prison, but he managed to get through, barely, with the help of a gang leader, Ace, who took him under his wing.
After his release, and realizing he could no longer work with his brother in their company without hurting business, Llew moves away to make a fresh start. It is a bit of a bumpy road, but luckily, he meets some pretty nice people, one in particular, who takes him in and gives him her apartment over her garage. Llew ends up getting a job at Shane’s construction company, which is where the story really starts to get going.
Shane is such a good guy. He never judged Llew, aside from assuming Llew was not capable of being more than a laborer, never looked up info on his past, etc. The two had an instant connection, and Shane made it a point to get to know Llew.
Llew has a pretty big issue though. Due to the events in high school, his now large, full-grown size, and his dominating personality, he is terrified of being accused again. This has resulted in impotence. Even when he feels a spark with Shane, the problem still persists. That is, until Shane comes up with a solution. Let me tell you, 8 years of no orgasms, along with Llew’s hesitance to show any of his alpha side, really made for some steamy hot scenes. I mean, smoking hot. These two have some major chemistry, and I could have read about them all day.
There are still a few bumps here and there, especially with Moss, but everything works out ok in the end. I loved that we got to see Ace (and his now hubby) again. He was a really nice addition to this story that I wish we had gotten more of. Llew was such a fabulous character, and I felt we really got to know him and his struggles and issues. Shane didn’t get as deep, but he was wonderful as well. This is definitely my favorite of Ms. Via’s stories, as I really didn’t want this to end. I was definitely not ready to let Llew and Shane go and hope we get to see them (and the other guys) again in the future. ...more

This story was a bit confusing for me. Cameron takes his boyfriend Noah away for the weekend so they can explore more of the kinkier side of their relationship. This is also apparently going to include other people.
when they arrive, however, Cameron runs into his old Dom who is giving a seminar with his current sub. Cameron is the Dom in his and Noah’s relationship, but we get the impression this is a fairly new development or at least taking this role is newish to Cameron. He seems very uncertain in this role, especially when Lou is around and Cameron defaults to the sub role.
It is decided that the four guys will play together, and while Noah is full on board, Cameron is a bit hesitant. Cam ends up subbing for Lou and having a private session with him as well. They obviously had some unfinished business regarding their relationship, though both seem happy with their current partners.
I think the biggest problem here was the length of the story. By that, I mean that it felt that we were missing important chunks to help us really understand where these characters were coming from, what the totality of their issues were, etc. This works great for a steamy quickie, but lacks the depth to really suck you in. I really would have liked to have learned a bit more about the characters, but if you’re looking for a quick afternoon kinky read, give this one a try. ...more

From the beautiful cover, to the title and the story in between, this is one heck of a well-written, well-rounded story that I absolutely fell in love with.
Grant has managed to steer clear of the FBI for years, not giving them a single bit of evidence of any wrongdoings. Even his boyfriend, who turned out to be an undercover agent, couldn’t find anything. But, Grant has decided to cut and run. Before he can safely do that, he must lay low until it is safe to access his other funds. He commences his 3 year play by buying a fixer upper house in sleepy Durstrand.
This story really grabbed a hold of me once Morgan is introduced. What a wonderful character he is. He is a functioning Autistic man who has overcome an extreme amount of challenges to be where he is today. He is so strong in so many ways, yet he is also extremely fragile. He doesn’t take crap from people, can take care of himself (for the most part) and goes after what he wants. This is all a bit difficult for Grant to fully understand, and he has trouble not jumping in every time he thinks Morgan needs help. Grant also struggles a bit initially with actually having a relationship with Morgan, not wanting to take advantage. Morgan shows Grant exactly how capable he is in one of the most unique and sensual sex scenes I’ve read.
One thing I loved about this story are the various struggles Morgan faced. He is such a unique individual who is beautiful in so many ways. I also really enjoyed Grant’s struggles, as they seemed very real to me. He realizes throughout this story that he falls prey to the very things he dislikes in other people where Morgan is concerned. He doesn’t always see beyond Morgan’s tics and other issues. But, Morgan isn’t afraid to remind Grant, nor to send him packing when his actions relay more than his words.
When I mentioned the cover and the title in relation to this story, it just connects consistently throughout. Morgan shows Grant so many things about light through his glass sculptures, etc. But when he truly shows him the man he is in the absence of light, it all comes together.
This story has it all, it really does. It is heartwarming, yet also heartbreaking. It has sad moments, but there is also a lot of humor, as Morgan is a snarky little bugger. The sex is off the charts hot. You never feel as though you’ve read this story before. It is truly one of my favorites, and by far, my favorite of Ms. Wilder’s. If you enjoyed Complementary Colors, you will absolutely love this one. It has many of the same elements. Ms. Wilder does an amazing job painting vivid pictures of characters with varying disabilities, and this one is top notch. I highly recommend it. ...more

In this segment, Théoden is spending some time with the sexy dragon King. Gotta love the lustful dragons, especially when they bring Théoden to his knees, so to speak. It’s fun watching him take on a role different from that which he takes with his vampires.
Meanwhile, the search for Dante continues, as does the search for the new chosen siblings. Marco still puts Noel in his place every now and then, but it is happening less and less. I’m still not a fan of his, but he holds an important position as Théoden’s second, so I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere any time soon.
There is more of what everyone loved about the previous books, especially lots of hot raunchy sex, but the story is also progressing. New vamps are being sired, per the decree of King Ari, and the time is drawing near for those chosen by Théoden to leave with Ari for his conquest of the new city.
As each story ends, I look forward to the events to come in the following books. This one was no different. While much has happened, and everyone (especially Noel) has come a long way, it feels as though there is still much more to tell. I think Noel is in for a bumpy ride in the near future as Théoden’s promises to others of Noel’s company are called upon. I am, once again, already excited for the next one. ...more

This book is part of the Totally Five Stars series written by various authors. The only connection they have is that they all center around five-star hotels in various locations around the world. I am a big fan of Ms. Davitt, which is what lured me to this story.
First, we have Andy, a struggling actor who needs to find another job until he makes his big break. With very little actual skills, he relies on his acting ability to win him a job as a bartender at a big hotel. He gets off to a rocky start, but eventually convinces his potential boss, Ethan, to give him a chance to prove himself. It doesn’t take long before Andy is interested in more than the job. Ethan quickly shows Andy that he has some pretty high standards and expects them to be met. He’s all business, much to Andy’s disappointment and attempts otherwise.
Again, Andy’s persistence pays off, though not quite in the way he was thinking. Andy’s life is one disorganized mess. Ethan is an organizer and manager, in every sense. There is attraction on both sides, but Ethan isn’t looking for just sex – he isn’t a dom looking for a sub. He is a perfectionist looking for someone to manage, organize and mold into a better person. Andy seizes the opportunity, knowing his life is in pretty big shambles at the moment, and hands the reins over to Ethan, who controls everything from Andy’s diet and exercise, to grooming and to exactly what goes on sexually.
The sex is often quite hot, though there are some more mundane clinical type activities as well. Ethan likes doling out the “s” in various ways, and Andy finds he enjoys the “m” enough to make it work. He does struggle with the roles every now and then, which was totally to be expected given the drastic change Andy made in his life, so this totally worked for me. He’s a bit bratty, but not overly so. Ethan is strong and a bit bull-headed at times, but you can see through most of that to his true feelings about Andy.
My only real niggle with this story was that we didn’t really get to know these guys very well. It felt superficial or in the moment. I think this mostly involved Ethan, as I found I wanted to know more about his past, wanted to see more interaction with him maybe meeting Andy’s friends, etc. He was the bigger mystery for me, as I had many unanswered questions regarding him.
But, all in all, I really enjoyed this. It was a quick, easy read that, while not on the beginner BDSM (or, more accurately, S/M) level, I didn’t find it overly dark in that respect, though it is different than the usual. I really enjoyed not reading the same old, same old, and this certainly delivers in that respect. If you’re looking for something a bit different, definitely give this one a try. ...more

This was a really sweet story about young love, boys finding themselves and then finding each other when the time is right. It’s a coming of age tale that I found to be a really touching and sweet story.
Mark falls in love with Jase pretty early on. Jase includes him in pretty much everything he and Mark’s brother, Eric, do. Jase is a few years older, so there isn’t really any sign of anything more between them. When Jase and Eric enlist in the military and have to leave, Mark is devastated. He gets by with the sweet cassette tapes Mark sends him, always ending with the song, 500 miles, and a promise that they will come back to him.
Mark is devastated yet again after he learns about Jase being involved with a girl he met overseas. But, all is not as it seems, and things are done for what are thought to be the right reasons. Nevertheless, it was hard to not feel bad for Mark who has faithfully been sending care packages biding his time until he can see Jase and really let his feelings be known.
Jase and Eric eventually return home and things are set to right, but Jase isn’t quite the same person he was when he left and Mark must decide to forgive and be supportive to the man he still loves. There were so many sweet moments in this little tale. I really enjoyed watching these guys grow in the short amount of time that we see them. This was a fabulous afternoon read, and I definitely recommend you pick it up if you like coming of age, young love stories. ...more

This one was calling my name. From the ex-military, disabled vet, friends to lovers, GFY, etc., I was just a little excited. I was not disappointed.
These guys have such a connection, even before their budding relationship takes hold. They not only served together, but Jase saved Carey’s life on the battlefield, and the two have remained close friends. Jase is one of the few people who totally look past Carey’s disability, doesn’t try to help him at every turn or overcompensate for him. Carey is doing fairly well with his recovery and life, enjoying his new career helping give therapy to other wounded vets and PTSD sufferers. When visiting Jase this time around, he realizes he is starting to see Jase in a different light.
Jase has been in love with Carey for a long time, but knowing it is a one-sided deal, he pushes his feelings aside allowing their friendship to grow while he satisfies himself, or tries to, with miscellaneous men and women. He is still dealing with his own PTSD issues and has yet to find a way to really address the situation.
When these two get together, it is explosive. Smoking hot sex and smexy dirty talk abound. Jase gives it his all, laying it all out there, and Carey is along for the ride in the moment. But, he flounders a bit with his new feelings, which is understandable – he doesn’t just jump right into the I’m gay, it’s ok bandwagon. The hard part was watching Jase deal with it, not wanting to lose their friendship even if they can’t have a full blown relationship. It takes a while for Carey to come to grips and realize what losing Jase really means to him, but he gets there eventually.
Some of this story is told through flashbacks, which I am not generally a fan of. If they aren’t done just right, they really pull me from the story. These were sort of in the middle. They pulled me out a little, but they were also important to really get a feel for what these guys experienced and what brought them together as friends/brothers in arms.
Overall, this was a really enjoyable read with a lot of elements that worked for me. I wasn’t completely sold on the GFY or the flashbacks, but the rest was very well done. It kept my interest throughout and ended with a lovely HEA epilogue. I’ll definitely be looking for more from Ms. Hansen in the future.

I was so excited to read Ben’s story. We met Ben in the previous books. He’s Tristan’s bff though they have a somewhat complicated relationship. They have a past sexual relationship, but have been close friends pretty much since then. Unfortunately, Ben wanted more and was, in fact, in love with Tristan. Sadly, Tristan didn’t return those feelings. When Tristan eventually found what he needed with Mateo and Josiah, Ben had a bit of a difficult time coming to terms with it all. But, he remained the good friend, always there when Tristan needed him. Turns out, Ben was a little more screwed up than we thought.
This story opens with a bang, Ben is laying it all out in letters to Tristan that he doesn’t actually plan to ever send. He is in a major downward spiral, especially after the recent events involving his kidnapping. But there is so much more behind his issues. I won’t get into them, but they all explain his current activities of mindless sex to try and lose himself, get over Tristan and to escape the memories and voices from his past out of his head. It is during one of these club encounters that he notices and is noticed by Dante.
Dante has a few issues of his own – he’s chasing a few ghosts as well. He thinks he is too broken to help Ben, though he sees exact what Ben is trying to hide since he feels he was in that same position. When Dante is able to help Ben with a certain performance problem, it is the start of their rocky relationship of give and take, needing each other but not wanting to give in to or accept it. Ben thought he was the one in control and need to be the one calling the shots, but Dante quickly shows him that is not the case.
While there were some areas of repetitiveness throughout, I did not have nearly the issues with it that I had in Full Circle. Here, we are learning more and more about the cause of Ben’s issues, and the flashbacks show more of his mental instability. This was a fast-paced story that keeps you a bit on the edge of your seat wanting to know the details and see things play out.
I was ready for the one-on-one that this story promised, and I was not disappointed. It was good to see the threesome again, especially when they all come together at the end. While I enjoyed watching Ben and Dante working things out, I really would have liked to have seen more of them after that point. Maybe we will get to see them again. :)...more

This was a really interesting little story showing a lot of long-term potential. I didn’t realize it when I read this, but I was really excited to see that this was the start of a series.
Slade is lost, in more ways than one. He’s been injured, discharged from the military, hitchhiking across country ending up in the boonies where he stumbles upon Callum’s cabin. Callum offers a skittish Slade a place to sleep for the night, and though Callum is a bit intrigued, he keeps to himself. That is, until a nightmare wakes Slade and Callum can’t help but console him.
Through all of this, little things set off sparks – the hint at restraining Slade quickly sets Slade at ease, which, in turn, wakes Callum’s dom side. After a discussion the next morning, Callum suggests of some other activities, etc. that could help Slade given what Callum’s seen of his issues (PTSD, grief, etc.) and his signs of submissiveness. Slade’s eyes are opened and he believes it is what he needs, but not knowing and not wanting to assume if Callum is even interested in giving it to him long-term, he is determined to find it elsewhere. So, miscommunication is now the name of the game. Eventually, these guys were on the same page, and I’m really looking forward to reading more of their story.
This was a quick read, but it is full of emotion. At first, things seem a bit cliché, but the rest really didn’t play out that way. I loved getting glimpses into these guys’ backgrounds and really hope to learn more as the story progresses. I’ll definitely be in line when the next one is ready. ...more

This is a short story about two guys making a living in NYC as go go dancers. If you’ve ever been to NY and experienced the bars and go go dancers, I think you’ll appreciate this story a bit more. It was fun to see this exaggerated version of how things are.
Joel and Sam’s lives consist of little more than going to the gym and dancing. At least, that’s all Joel seems to care about. He is with Sam, but is constantly thinking about more, being with more people, making more money, how much better he is than everyone else, etc. He is basically a big jerk with no redeemable qualities. I had absolutely no idea what Sam saw in him.
Sam is a sweet guy who, while he enjoys his job as a dancer, is looking for a bigger break. He spends his days looking for acting jobs or modeling gigs while still fitting in the gym and the dancing job. He pretty much only has eyes for Joel, though, again, I can’t fathom why. When Joel starts getting messages from a stalker, Sam is the only one who seems concerned.
Things escalate as the stalker steps up his game, but there is a pretty big twist that, even though it should have been obvious, I didn’t really see coming. This may have been the first time I was ever really happy about the outcome of such a twist.
Needless to say, this story was a really fast read, and storyline aside, the writing was well done. It was easy to read, made me chuckle at the almost ridiculous actions of Joel, and though this isn’t really a romance, I did feel like there was a HEA when all was said and done.
This is my first story by Mr. Morgan, and I’m looking forward to checking out his other work. ...more

I loved this story every bit as much as the first book, . A Dangerous Reality This one is a little different though, or I should say the guys are a bit different.
We met Ormond in the previous book. He has a badge or uniform kink, in that blowing men in uniform really does it for him. Needless to say, he doesn’t ever get any traffic tickets. He owns up to his slutty ways though, fully admits he is a total cumslut, but he is thinking it is time to start changing his ways.
Anson is former military/turned mercenary. He was sent home from the sandbox after it appeared his PTSD was getting the best of him. He returns home to visit the MC to find out more about his elusive father of whom nobody will say a word. In the meantime, at the request of that MC, he takes a job helping out the newly-formed Bent Zealots MC to rid them of their little problem with theft and turf encroaching.
Ormond’s knowledge of the rez and experience with the law enforcement earns him a spot as Anson’s partner. Now, here is where these two are different. They are both used to being lovers at a distance. Neither has gotten close to anyone (or at least not in a long time in the case of Anson), and they both like it a bit rough. Ormon likes to be dominated and used, and Anson is more than happy to do the dominating and rough sex. There are no quick declarations of love here, though Ormon realizes pretty early on that Anson is exactly his type. After Anson, he has no desire to submit to random blowjobs. It just takes a little convincing to bring Anson around.
Anson gets much more than he bargained for or even knew he desired when he found his home with Ormond and the Zealots. These guys have a different kind of relationship, but it works for them, and it’s easy to see at the end how right they are for each other.
This story moves along at a quick pace and has plenty of hot dirty sex and exciting action. I really enjoyed this and love the gay biker gang theme. They are not without their problems, but they are looking to be a force to be reckoned with, and I am looking forward to more of their stories. ...more

This story follows Pure and picks up not long after where that leaves off. While I really liked Pure, there were things, such as the age gap, that threw me off a bit. That wasn’t the case here, so Indulgence worked a little better for me.
We met both of these characters in Pure. Joe was quitting his job as a detective and joining Callum as an investor in the club and partners in the security business. This story begins with Joe’s last day on the job. At this point, he is a two-time divorcee who plays around a little at the club, mostly with women subs. While he has had a few light scenes with men, he has been straight, or a least, he thought he was straight. Adam makes him question and rethink things, which Joe often worked out by way of very funny inner conversations.
Adam was Lee’s friend, a sub who has been helping Lee with the new boutique. He’s a sweet guy who clearly has a past but hides it all behind smiles and what appears to most to be sweet submission. He’s a talented guy, he can sing, he’s going to the same college as Lee, and he has come a long way from his time on the streets.
When trouble finds Adam, Joe is in the right place at the right time and offers to help. Through this, Joe’s protective nature kicks into high gear, and before he knows it, Adam is staying with him. Little by little, Adam chips away at Joe’s I’m a straight guy shell. I liked that Joe didn’t really fight it as much as he was surprised by it and sort of questioned/argued with himself over the possibility.
There is a little bit of mystery and who dunnit, some miscommunications and misunderstandings that almost ruin their chances, but these guys finally figure things out. Whether Joe is just trying to get it out of his system, or they are both on the same page, the scenes were hot and sweet. I really enjoyed these guys together. This story moved along at a quick pace, and wrapped up nicely. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next....more
This is a really sweet story. After Dean loses his best friend and stepbrother in the war, he decides to be a pen 3.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
This is a really sweet story. After Dean loses his best friend and stepbrother in the war, he decides to be a pen pal to another soldier as a way to deal with his loss. He ends up writing to Ryder, and the two begin a relationship that spans about a year through letters and phone calls. Unfortunately, before they can finally connect, Ryder is wounded and sent home to recover.
I really enjoyed the pen pal correspondence and watching these guys learn about each other. Their feelings grow, and they both feel as though they are perfect for each other. However, before they have the opportunity to meet, Ryder decides Dean doesn’t deserve a broken man, etc. and cuts off contact. Thankfully, a “friend” of Ryder clues Dean in, and he wastes no time in making sure Ryder realizes he is in love with the man from the letters and that his injuries are not an issue. They still struggle a bit, as they adjust to their new life, but it is these little things that I enjoyed seeing.
Dean’s family is fantastic. His “mom” is also the mother of the best friend he lost, having adopted him when he was a teen and that friend saved him from life on the streets. Dean’s original family is worthless, but Mama Beth and Jessie both make up for it. They take Ryder into the family as one of their own and are there when things get tough.
I love soldier stories, and stories where they are no longer soldiers but find new lives for themselves when forced to give up the only career they thought they’d have. It is easy to understand how they must feel when faced with such changes on top of their disabilities. If only they were all lucky enough to find someone like Dean who is so willing and determined to help them overcome.
There were definitely things here that just seemed a bit over the top that threw me out of the story. So much happened to these guys, it was one thing after another, starting with Dean’s childhood, his family, losing his friend, etc. Then there are crazy ex’s, jealous crushes that came out of nowhere, etc. These guys have been building up their sexual tension for over a year, though we didn’t really see that in the letters, so it was somewhat expected that they’d be all over each other when they finally meet. However, it was hard to imagine a guy still recovering from an amputated leg getting it on in the hospital. I suppose anything could happen, but these things just added up and took away from the story.
Setting those things aside, this was still a really sweet story, and I enjoyed many aspects of it. It kept me interested until the end and feeling satisfied when I got there. This was my first book by this author, but I’m definitely going to look at more of her work.
Absolutely love reading about Gilli and his crazy life. He never fails to make me smile, laugh out loud, shake my head and break my heart all in one s Absolutely love reading about Gilli and his crazy life. He never fails to make me smile, laugh out loud, shake my head and break my heart all in one sitting.
Even though there doesn't ever seem to be all that much progress in one direction or another, I still cannot get enough. He still does silly Gilli things on an almost daily basis that get him into trouble, he's still a very grumpy houseboy most of the time though it is easy to see where it all comes from.
With the story being told from Gilli's point of view, it is also easy to want to side with him all the time and question the Daddies' actions and their overall relationship. But, in the end, you can see they all care for each other in their own distinct ways.
I think I will always cherish these stories, as they have stuck with me, and when I pick one back up, it is such a pleasure that I hope will never end....more
This series is really rolling now. Théoden is now Prince of the City and wasting no time in getting things under 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
This series is really rolling now. Théoden is now Prince of the City and wasting no time in getting things under control. The first of two pressing needs is addressed when a meeting is set up with the Alpha of the wolves. I was so excited to see them finally make an appearance.
One thing I love about this series is the fact that you can easily see and feel the differences between the species. By that, I mean that it is clear the vamps are dangerous but more refined and reserved about things. They are more controlled about everything they do. The wolves, even though we have only seen them briefly so far, are much more wild, not caring about appearances and just doing what they do. I can totally picture them in a mass feeding frenzy, playing with their food. Then, there are the dragons, most powerful, both physically and sexually. They’re bad, and they know it but don’t need to show it, choosing instead to sit back and enjoy the pursuit of their sexual endeavors.
So now, Théoden has called a meeting with the wolves in hopes of coming to an agreement for their future, centering around the capture of the rogue wolf hybrid, Dante. Terms are agreed upon that hint of quite a few interesting possibilities, especially for our friend, Noel, who has been busy trying to learn his new position. Marco is a strict mentor, so of course, nothing is easy for Noel. The second pressing need of siring more vamps is still on everyone’s minds.
While this segment has a lot more story building, it still contains the crazy hot and no frills sex we’ve seen in the previous books. Positions may change here and there, and power gained but then lost, as Noel continues to take one step forward, two steps back. He’s getting there though, but I sense some potential upheaval in his future if things play out the way they are hinted at.
I am becoming more and more involved with these characters and their world as this story grows. It seems to really be gaining momentum now, and as with the previous installments, I cannot wait for the next. ...more
This is a story about sex trafficking, sex slaves to be exact, and the story is one of first-hand experience.
It starts with Susannah, an FBI agent who's goal is to crack open and take down a group of sex traffickers. Susannah is a rookie who is currently contemplating if she actually wants to stay with the FBI. She is also currently lusting after her young neighbor, an 18 year old genius she has friended. Jasper also has quite a crush on Susannah, but Susannah has kept things on the friend level due to their age difference. Jasper has a submissive streak and is drawn to Susannah's dominant nature.
When things go horribly wrong, Jasper is taken by the very people Susannah has been after. He spends 10 months transforming into a sex slave for the head of the operation. While some details are given, most is somewhat glossed over, so while the events are horrific, they weren't too difficult to get through. Jasper is basically forced to be everything at the whim of the evil Victor, and his training to get to that point is harsh and brutal.
In the meantime, Susannah is barely living. She has honed her skills as a dominant, though while she takes on clients and sessions, she keeps everything professional. She has been staying with her brother and his lover who uses his wealth and resources to eventually find and recover Jasper.
Jasper barely manages to make it through his rescue. The urge to follow the directions of his trainer and master are strong, but he pulls it off. What follows is the next segment wherein Susannah and the others try to heal Jasper and bring him back to a semblance of normalcy. It's not easy, especially as there are a few dominants in the household (Susannah's brother-in-law and his best friend/head of security) making it difficult for Jasper given his recent experiences. Understandably, it isn't easy for Jasper to adjust, but this was my favorite part of the story to see play out.
This is a long story that could have easily been told in three parts, although it was nice not to have to wait for it all. There are times that Susannah was a little frustrating and tiresome. Her constant musings about Jasper's age, then about getting him in her playroom (after his ordeal) seemed really out of place. That said, when I really enjoyed when she and Jasper were together, whether she was in charge, or she was allowing him to be.
There are a few other things that you had to sort of just set aside as rather unlikely, but if you can do that, this is a very well put together story. It kept my interest, and had a big enough variety to keep me turning pages. There was a bit of dark, a bit of sweet, some twists, turns, mystery and suspense, and a bit of action to boot. Both the m/f aspects, as well as the m/m, were all very well written. I will definitely be looking for more from these two authors in the future....more
You have to love when a series just continues to give you what you love, over and over again. We are now into Sea 4.5 star review by The Blogger Girls.
You have to love when a series just continues to give you what you love, over and over again. We are now into Season Two, showing more and more of the goings on with the vampires, their hierarchy and world. As much as I loved seeing the goings on inside House of Théoden, I am really loving seeing how they do things in the grand scheme of things.
Here, the big event is King Ara’s crowning of Théoden as the new Prince of the City. He will now rule over the territories as King Ara takes half of the other Lords and a few others off to conquer a new territory in Europe. This story sets the stage for change, both for Théoden, as well as Noel. Théoden appoints his sons as Generals, above the other Lords setting the new chain of command. Everyone is still under strict rule to sire two new vampires, and the hunt for Dante, the wolf-hybrid, are made top priorities.
As for Noel, he is now officially at the hands of Marco, who is to train him as an enforcer and to hone his vampire skills. Unfortunately, Noel is sadly mistaken in his belief that his embracing will put him on a level playing field with his brothers. He learns more about Marco and his past, along with his connection to Théoden, which only reinforces his position over Noel, who is still learning to control his new powers. He is getting there, but he still has a ways to go.
It feels as though this world is just beginning to flourish. We are really getting to know the players now, and the events are really getting interesting. Oh, you still have oodles of hot, gritty sex and edgy dialog with a seriously pleasurable lack of fluff. But, this story is really beginning to take shape and is doing so in an exciting and colorful manner. No doubt, Nicholas is a fabulous storyteller with a real skill at world building. I’m super excited to see what happens as each new element is added. We have had a taste of the dragons (more, please!) and hints of run ins with the wolves. The addition of Dante should be quite the show, and I’m more than ready to see more of Théoden in action. Bring on the next segment!...more

I really fell in love with this story. I was a bit unsure at first of what direction it was taking, as the blurb doesn’t really tell you much. But, it didn’t take long for me to warm right up to it and settle in for the ride.
Desdemona Darkly is the successful on-line sex toy company owned by Mickey and his ex-partner of 8 years, Dag. Mickey has been a bit of a workaholic in the past, and while it played a big part in the demise of his and Dag’s relationship, it payed off where the company was concerned.
When a delay at the customs office brings Mickey into contact with the sexy kilt wearing Scotsman, Hugh, things really start to get moving. Hugh is the sexy, divorced, father of twin teenage boys. He moved from Scotland when he was fourteen so doesn’t really have an accent, but his brogue shines through here and there, just enough to really add to his allure.
After a rocky start, Hugh and Mickey hit it off and begin their relationship rather slowly, with a fabulous first date and quite a few dates as well before they take things to the next level. Mickey turns out to be not what he appeared. He is a bit nerdy, but is a feisty little guy able to hold his own when necessary. The tables are turned even further when it turns out Mickey is more of a top.
There are some issues with Dag, however. It seems he has basically been cockblocking Mickey for quite some time and is none too happy about the new developments with Hugh. I wasn’t much of a Dag fan throughout this story. He does his best to try and cause problems with Mickey and Hugh. Thankfully, with the help of Hugh’s ex and Mickey’s sister, the two prevail.
Hugh’s kids also add a few problems. They’re having a little trouble adjusting to their parents finding significant others, dealing with their own sexuality issues, and just being teenagers. Mickey has had some trouble adjusting to the insta-family as well. It was nice to see these problems and how they worked out. Everything with the kids is written in such a way that feels very realistic and ends up being quite enjoyable. I loved watching Hugh deal with his sons.
This is my favorite story by Mr. Ortiz to date. It is a smooth reading, engrossing story that I didn’t want to put down. It is funny, sexy and sweet, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I cannot wait to read more and really hope to see more of Mickey and Hugh. ...more
