A few pages a day. I really liked it and while you'd think with 3 stars I'd have some negative things to say, I don't. I *love* books dealing with psychological issues but I never want to GUSH over them as if they were a 5, okay? :)
The only thing I can recall having an "issue" with was the writing style, sometimes I felt like it jumped from one person's thoughts to another's within the same sentence. It took some getting used to because I'm not used to books written in this POV....more

From the minute I picked it up, it held my attention and made me want to know more. I had to force myself to finally put this book down or I was going to stay up half of the night to finish it. I really loved all of the characters, and everything they did or didn't do and their reasons for it.
I love Cassia's teenage frustrations though. I love how she gets jealous of her friends' unknown matches and wishes she could have had a bit of mystery with hers, I think showing that in this novel was done really well. Cassia is a teenager after all, and she goes from being thrilled to get matched, to being a little let down, to be thrilled again, just like any 17 year old girl would. Until the memory card glitches and shows her a different boy. Another boy she knows.
After that, this really is a love story to me. I know there's so much more, but we get to see Cassia and Ky's relationship bloom, and man is it such a sweet one. (view spoiler)[ When they finally kiss, I was beside myself! I was waiting and waiting, and it couldn't have been sweeter. It was SO well done! I was so glad they just didn't rush into it as it happens pretty late in the book, and that their were reasons for waiting, and the waiting made it all the more enjoyable. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ Another part I really enjoyed, was when they were at the showing. They all go to a showing together, and it's about their history. Cassia and her friends are watching, but Cassia can't help but sneak looks at Ky. A scene in the showing, is so dramatic it can't possibly be real. The actors are doing a horrible job, it shows actors running for their lives and red globs forming on their clothes, and they fall down so dramatically that it can't possibly be real. Cassia finds it rather silly in fact, how bad that scene is portrayed. As she looks over to sneak a peak at Ky, he is crying. She doesn't understand why, as they are just actors... (hide spoiler)]
Overall, I really really liked this book. It does a great job of pulling me in, and keeping me interested. Normally, I'm craving some action, but this book was written so well that I did not even notice or care. Everything that was given to me, was perfect. I loved all the slow building up to big moments, I loved her family, and her friends. I can't wait to read the second book in the series. I love the power Cassia obtains for herself, and she doesn't yet have to fight to do it. She's been passively trying to be able to make her own choices. She's not a fighter, but throughout the series she might have the potential to become one. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

The books are IMO the same level and quality throughout. Perhaps slightly better with each one, but this is one of those series that if you enjoy the first then you will most likely enjoy them all. I loved it so much. The author is a fantastic writer, and aside from the story being very interesting, the message and the thoughts this book provoke are really cool. My mom and I ended up talking about this book (she was reading about a space book at the same time) for almost an hour.
This series really surprised me! I wasn't expecting too much and to be honest, I've had this entire series on my shelf for quite a long time. I've been so hesitant to start it because of how long the series is (I'm not used to reading a series with more than 3 books in it! I have to prepare myself for longer series even though the books in this are all pretty short) BUT it's so good. I had no reason to be worried :)
I honestly can't think of a single thing that I thought was wrong with this book, and to be honest I've already finished a few more in the series so I don't want to say anything book-related for fear of spoiling one of the others....>_> oop! However, I'll just say that this is done very well and that if you're a fan of Across the Universe then I think this will definitely be up your alley. (But it's a lot betterrrrrr IMO)...more
