What an experience....I am stunned and love the book so much that I've been recommending to everyone, even total strangers. (Poor hubby is really tired of me yakking about it :P ) Ashwin Sanghi weaves a spell-binding political saga that goes back and forth from Chanakya's time(340 BC) to the present. And you can't decide who's the better kingmaker - Chanakya or Gangasagar Mishra. It's a treat for those who love a masterful game of suspense and Eureka! moments a la Sidney Sheldon. Sanghi gives us a master piece that's a brilliant insight into what goes into setting up a government......and bringing one down (with just a few words). Truthfully speaking, I hate politics and everything to do with it........but Chanakya's Chant drew me into its web. right from page 1. The book is filled with punchlines so tight it would put Rajnikanth to shame! My favorite one : I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.... Hehe..stellar! :)(less)

I had to read the book in one go. The characters as in the Immortals are superbly crafted. You can feel the subtle changes in the characters, their growth and the journey. My favorite in this one is definitely Anandmayi. A very contemporary & striking figure in a historical setting. The surprises are well packaged and stun you....especially the ones towards the end.
Oath of the Vayuputras needs to get out fast!! Good job by Amish. His 2nd instalment doesn't disappoint!!(less)

The characters are well written and the story grabs you and doesn't let go till the last page. In my case, I felt a wee bit bereft after I finished this one 'coz I wanted it to go on and on.
Facets centers around four characters, one of which is the bad guy and all three are fall guys. Every character's life and story depends on the bad guy, making it a highly interesting storyline. Facets is very aptly named.
There's a writer, a jewelry designer,a miner and a mining mogul. The story spans three decades, but personally I felt it should have been four or six or eight! Haha...
Instead of diamonds, tourmaline makes a rare appearance in this book. And soon you start to value them over diamonds! :)
Barbara Delinsky tells us a story that has all the age-old emotions : love, trust, friendship, betrayal, affairs, hate, forgiveness and closure. But with each page you turn, it feels like a whole new world!
Read this book only if you have the time to finish it in one go....'coz you just can't put it down :)

The premise is pretty exciting and the setting is unique. It's a little hard to imagine the scale of the structures in the book, however hard Child tries to explain it! It is probably too large to assimilate and that gives the book a sense of surrealism...and you're not sure whether to believe it all or not. (In my case, it was 'not'!) A good, exciting read that will keep you guessing about the secrets that are hidden inside the Earth. And the last bit is simply chilling....(DO NOT turn to the last page first, after reading this. I hate to be the spoiler!!) Enjoy this one with a cuppa' hot latte on a rainy day. It'll keep you glued, if you're the kind who love an ' under the covers' kinda mystery. Believe me, after Deep Storm, you'll definitely wonder what's beneath the ground we're standing on.....(less)

She tops it off with a great etching of her characters. Tessa and Sawyer are the mainstays of this roller coaster ride while Noah Bishop provides the connections to the case wherever needed.
Samuel's secrets of his past are the crackling moments in the story.
Read on only if you love the mysterious. I just can't wait to get my hands on another of Bishop's novels. In this one, Kay Hooper definitely knows what to do!(less)

Pendergast and Constance play their bit well until the 'apparition' arrives. After that, the book begins to lose its way. It starts to feel that the authors (yeah, there are two!!) want to put so much stuff into one single story. So you have the monks of Tibet, a scary painting, ocean liners and opulence, murders, gambling, FBI style forensic analysis, all interspersed with yogic meditation. Following the story is fine until you get to the end. Then it's all downhill from there. The climax slumps in a hodge podge arrangement of words. (Wonder if the editor dozed off, too) If you're going to read it, you need to brace yourself mentally to picture the scenarios in your head. Believe me, that can take quite a chunk out of you....(less)

It takes off where 6 Sacred Stones left off....Hunstman falling to his death. From then on, it's adrenaline all the way! Matthew Reilly must have loved his puzzles and mazes when he was a boy coz' 5GW simply sizzles with elaborate mechanisms that are connected to ancient lore.
The characters once again come out tops! Kudos to Reilly for creating such adorable warriors that you can't help but fall in love with them (except the baddies, of course!) However the bad guys are so bad you just want to whip a gun and shoot them down yourself....
My only grudge with 5GW is that it should have left Jesus out of the plot. It wasn't necessary and I don't applaud authors for bringing Him in just to up the mystical quotient. That would be equating Him to Harry Potter and that irks me. There's tons of great people you can spin tales about, just not Him!
Other than that, an amazing read that will keep you at it till you find out if Huntsman can truly stop Armageddon! :)(less)

Sudden Death takes you on a roller coaster ride, filled with suspense, drama and loads of action. Protagonists Megan and Jack are well rounded characters who come out strong and victorious over situations that have weighed them down for years. The supporting cast is well etched and you long to know them better.
As for the villains, they have a back story too. That just makes the entire read simply un-putdown-able!
The book comes together in the last couple of chapters and considering the length of the book, it's amazing how Brennan has put in so much info in that many pages.
This is definitely not a romantic read; it's more down the crime/action/suspense genre. Those who love the latter kind simply must read it for its compelling characters, intriguing plot and a Eureka moment when you realize how the story connects!(less)
