Another amazing story from Mr Wells. I'll post a complete review after I read Book-2, but there's several things that I loved about Book-1 I wanted to mention. I'll elaborate on them in my upcoming review.
First of all, killer hook! Totally unexpected, and completely awesome! Also, the author continues to blow my mind with the ever-expanding range of his imagination, not to mention the fact that he is bound by no genre. The last thing I'll highlight here is about the characters. Great job all around, as usual, but the stand out, and big surprise for me, was Segundo F. Herniquez.

Whether you've read the five star reviews, heard the echoes of great praise from his loyal fans or seen quotes by Mr. Wells himself saying, "I'm known for my super fast-paced, 'unputdownable' novels," you can believe the hype, it's all true.
Having said that, I always start a new Wells series the same way, with a touch of fear and apprehension. Let's face it, there's a lot of pressure going in because I'm a huge fan of his previous works, plus he's the self proclaimed writer of "unputdownable" books and his legion of fans feel the same way -- and I'm one of them. But what if this one isn't up to par?! How can he possibly do it again, you know what I mean?
The first Mike Wells book I ever read was "Wild Child," mostly because the author was on Twitter constantly tweeting how great his books were and how you couldn't put one down once you started.
Hey, I love a challenge so after several months of this, plus the free eBook incentive, I thought okay Mikey, let's do this! My gloves came off and I was ready for a battle, but the bar was set so high that I honestly didn't expect that much (nothing personal Mr. Wells).
Needless to say, I was completely blown away by Wild Child and was overwhelmingly excited when I finished that first book. Why!? Because I had just discovered a new top tier favorite author, not an easy task in my world. I've had a similar experience with every Wells book I've read so far.
Anyway, back to Passion, Power & Sin. It only took a few pages into chapter one for me to be completely hooked once again. I love great characters and a lightning fast pace, Wells delivers on both counts and more. Heather is an amazing protag and I was completely invested in her world, the words were flying by so fast it felt like I was getting pulled through the story by a Malibu Wakesetter, skimming through the "pages" at full-bore. This is exactly why I love to read.
I eagerly started each new book in the series with increasing levels of adrenaline and excitement, agonizing over Heather's every decision as I chased her through the pages. The best part was being so invested in Heather's story that all this intensity stayed with me throughout the day, long after my kindle was turned off.
Passion, Power and Sin is definitely one of the most exciting stories I've read this year. Well done Mr. Wells, the only downside is that I'm behind on work, sleep and it could take a few days to remember how to focus on real life again! :)
If you aren't a Mike Wells fan, you haven't read him yet.

While I didn't connect with some of the authors views, there were so many awesome--I'm talking AMAZING--little nuggets tucked away that I was constantly taking notes and reading passages over again.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book a lot and I'm looking forward to revisiting the highlights and notes I made throughout my kindle as I read. (less)

I think it's because I'm so comfortable with the characters; we've got enough background and story time together that I'm fully invested in their struggle. Plus, we're digging deeper into the meat of this season, awesome.
With all the ingredients from season one added in, this episode is a thick, chunky, steaming bowl of delicious story stew. (How many similes and metaphors are allowed in a review anyway? I'll tone it down)
I love how the characters are developing, especially Abigail and Larry. Katya is a great addition to the line-up and I'm curious how she'll fit into Abi's world. The kid could sure use the emotional support and friendship. Tiny is awesome as well, I laughed my ass off when he said, "You ain't always listenin' to my thoughts 'n' s***, are you?"
The tension between Shadow and John becomes a little clearer when John gets into another tough spot. And the Hannah scenes, well, let's just say I sensed a Lexi influence (Dave's face kept flashing before my eyes...weird). Really well done though, captured the mood perfectly and totally reestablished Hannah's connection with her one and only. All in all, the most captivating episode for me so far.(less)

Episode 7 starts with a bang as we immediately tap into the incredible AD Universe. A pervading sense of doom is established in the first scene, setting the tone for Season Two. It's been a year since we've seen the main characters and it's really cool catching up with them. The tension ramps up immediately though, and before you know it, CLIFFHANGER! Awesome cliffhanger I should say.
What's great about ADS2 is you can purchase the whole season RIGHT NOW if you want, or, if you're patient, you can have the complete serial experience and wait each week for a new episode. I was planning on demonstrating my astonishing, Zen-like forbearance, but then decided--screw it--and bought the whole season.
