Babs Tarr's art is stellar, and I really like the new designs for not just Barbara, but also background characters, including Dinah. I also thought the core mystery for the story arc was clever and helped pay off a lot of the plot threads that seemed random at first. What's bad? The overall plot is a real mixed bag, especially the strange non-climax with dealing the central villain. I fully acknowledge that huge parts did not work for me (the endless stuff about hooq, constant use of instagram, etc.) because I am not the audience the authors are writing for. I think this will pull in new readers for superheroes which is a good thing, I just wish the plot had been better....more

I am only really passingly familiar with the Zelda mythology and the plot of this game, so I think the creators did a good job in giving readers an encapsulation of the experience. Like the game, the plot is much darker than a lot of the other Zelda adventures, and had some very interesting elements with the masks and different zones where Link has to defeat the various masks. I especially enjoyed the interplay of Link and Tatl, and how Link has to get his bearings in a new world. Very entertaining and a great pick for fantasy lovers of all ages. Now I got to track down the rest of the series!...more

I have not read much Asimov before, so I was really blown away by how well it flowed and how much he accomplished in this format. The laws of robotics are pretty well known in pop culture, but I was amazed at how many wrinkles and pitfalls that Asimov devised here from the get-go. My favorites were Robbie, Liar!, and Little Lost Robot, but the entire book was really enjoyable (except maybe that slightly weird last story). Overall, this is classic sci-fi that I would recommend without hesitation! ...more

So good in fact, it reminded me a lot of the other DC weekly I enjoyed back in the day, 52.
This one of the most enjoyable aspects of this title being a celebration of Batman's 75th anniversary, is the writer thinktank has done a great job of pulling from all corner's of Bat-history to pose the Bat-family a huge threat. Stuff like Roman Falcone, Deacon Blackfire, Scorpiana, Cluemaster, the introduction of Spoiler to the New 52, and so much more! The main hook of the plot is all very effective by taking Commissioner Gordon out of the equation, it also makes the book a celebration of his impact on the Gotham as well. I am also enjoying the slow eeking out of information on who is actually behind the conspiracy that is enveloping all corners of Gotham. Since there are so many diverse plot strands, I am looking forward to seeing how they all connect!
Again, I was very surprised how much I enjoyed the title. I know it may not keep all of the plates spinning or connect the various plots together in a satisfying manner, but as of this volume, I think they are off to a great start! I will also say if you are not highly versed on Bat-lore, I think you will find the book accessible and entertaining. It will help if you are passingly familiar with the current Bat-family line up from the New 52, as they don't really go into much back story for those characters (Batwing and the current status of the Red Hood are two examples).
