I have still not recovered from this amazing scorching hot novel! Fortunately, it's summer and I had an excuse to fan myself or unbutton my shirt... If not, I would have melted from mere words!
I really liked the style and sensuality released by Christine d'Abo in "Sexcapades", so I've decided to throw myself on her erotic series "The Long Shots."
The synopsis of this first volume made my temperature raise a few fahrenheit by only letting me imagine Sadie's and Paul's amorous adventures. Especially, knowing that the woman's fantasy was having a third partner to sensually devour.
By meeting Josh's eyes, Paul's partner in Mavericks, a libertine club, Sadie knows that her fantasy can become something elese than a dream...A reality! A hot and sensual adventure, particularly well described, told with wild but tender emotions by Christine d'Abo.
Beyond the menage à trois, this story is full of sensuality. All the tale is about the discovery of the pleasures without taboo, without judgment, just acceptance of fantasies and desires by open partners. But also a beautiful romance between two friends, who have never wanted to take the chance on acting on their attraction for fear of losing an incredible friendship. Sadie and Paul take a risk and try to combine friendship and love over time. Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone ...

On several occasions, I found myself smiling at interactions between PC and D. Williams. I savor their verbal bickering! Particularly well written, this book is fun and sexy. The author cracks me up!
Following PC's and D. Williams' adventures online, there was "Sex and the City" vibes, with Carrie Bradshaw's chronicles, in the story. Sex advices oriented, their blogs help users to flourish in their sexuality. The sex subjects treated by the two nemesis are fun, with direct and decomplexing sex talk without ever being vulgar.
Whereas, following Petra and Darcy, their exchanges are softer, tender but much more explosive. The sex scenes are also gorgeous, sensual and naughty.
I even fell in love with Christine d'Abo's hot writting skills and imagination. So much that directly after finishing this novel, I immediately attacked the "Long Shots" serie...Much more sexy and spicy ! A delight...Whose I will tell you about soon...
As for "Sexcapades", it is a perfect book to bring you a smile or make you want to explore new kinky games with Choupinet! Lol!

Despite the similarities, the story is no less interesting. I loved all these books which it's why I was delighted by "The Registry"... It makes me think of them.
In terms of the plot, young girls are brought up, without being too intellectualy educated, to be good wives and live an "happily ever after life", after being bought at an auction. But the fairy tale is a big lie. Women are bought on a slave market to become submissive to their own husbands, without having the ability to escape their condition unless they want to face death.
Shortly before her auction, Mia is warning by her sister on the real dynamic of the family and the thirst for money from their parents. As she is about to be sold to a psychopath husband named Grant, she flees. A manhunt begins with her billionaire husband at her heels and the government police also after her.
Quite dark, as there are many deaths on Mia's path, this story is a quick read. Because you will be anxious to know if the rebellious girl will get caught and what will the sadistic Grant reserve his wife if he catches Mia.
Abuse, gender differences, values of a human being, the power of money and the importance of the apparence instead of intelligence but also rebellion, manipulation of information and freedom. Here are the topics written between the lines of this story...
But I find that the explanations were missing as if it was only the first volume. I wanted to know more about the origins of Grant. How the auction arrived in America and why the other countries have accepted the slavery to be perpetrated.
Besides these questions, I struggled to sympathize with Andrew. His indecision led me to appreciate Carter, while gritting my teeth when Mia was falling under the spell of this sweet talker. But the princess was rather impressive. Her adaptability, intelligence and determination have won me over. A quite spoiled brat, badass and charming heroin.
I'd be happy to learn that the author is working on a sequel to Mia's, Carter's and Andrew's adventures to see if the love triangle continues.
A good story to enjoy a relaxing time ... Although, I'm starting to get pissed that women are always left in the dark, weak and useless, to play the perfect damsels in distress in dystopia. Lol!

Izzy wants to forget her unfaithful ex by deciding to spend a night with a awesome stranger. Only rules: no Strings Attached. Too bad or a joke of destiny...she meets him some time later at a professional event. She is not against some hot sex or a relationship without commitment.
But fun gives way to a more intimate relationship and the two heroes have to face their fears to see if they are willing to update their without engagement deal to an unlimited one...
The plot is fun without being original. The author's style is nice and allows you to have a good time with her characters. Relaxing: you don't have to think, just enjoy!

They have to confront themselves, the truth of their relationship and see if they still want the same things. Even the sex scenes and the fantasies mingle themselves, in a darker and deeper danse, creating a disruptive, aggressive atmosphere. Perhaps too much power and dominance in a relation can shatter the fondation of their feelings. Robert's and Kasie's confrontation is mesmerizing to read!
Kasie has climbed up the social ladder with Robert's help. But her lover and protector pushes its role beyond the reasonnable limits. He plays with his power as a god, and dictates its rules. His power and dominance attracts, inspires and scares Kasie which is lost in a character that is far short from her true self. Robert will make mistakes and Katie too. But the woman will need go to the end of her adventure to learn to stand on her own two feet with her own strength while disregarding Robert's good intentions.
This powerful serie was surprising since the first volume. Kyra Davis was able to make me react, volume after volume, by changing its style and atmosphere. I never got tired of her story even if, this third volume made me more uncomfortable. Yet, like heroin, I had to go through the whole process to enjoy the whole story and enjoy a fine conclusion at the end.
A very nice set, captivating, sensual and intriguing.

The idea was original. The action full of twists and conducted as an investigation with amusing repartees.
The first volume ended, as the reader left the creatures of our childhood to manage a declaration of war with the descendants of Van Helsing. There, in the sequel of the adventures of the daughter of Frankenstein and her werewolf of boyfriend and their therapy group, the situation worsen. Van Helsing and his progeny rely on Mr. Hyde's desires for revenge after losing Dr. Jekyll.
A new race against time ensues between creatures and hunters in the streets of New York, with new very endearing characters. Wanting to lend a hand to their friends, they end up worsening the situation.
Always well written, with a nice part left for feelings, this serie is worth being devoured. Under the humor and the supernatural, the author brings the concepts of tolerance, suffering face of differences. It is well done. No downtime, this serie is fresh and exciting.

Is it possible to meet real people in a love story?) and sex with spankings in every room... I wanted something fresh and innocent.
While starting my reading, I admit I had preconceived ideas based on the synopsis. I was expected some clichés about first love, with a plot turning around a bad boy big brother who will become a tame prince charming. Nothing original. But, its suited me well. I was in this state of mind, when opening this book.
Except, that I found myself hooked by the characters. I was very surprised with the result and enjoy myself immensely. I was even conquered by the end that is more mature than many romance for teenagers. Frankly, a great discovery.
Firstly, because the friendship between Lee and Rochelle is well described. I like to think that friendship between a girl and a boy is possible, without a second thought. And the relationship between the two heroes is beautifully described and depicted by the author. Both in the bickerings or in the laughters. It was sweet! It makes me miss my childhood friend.
I also enjoyed the romance with Noah, though too passionate and too volatile to be lasting over time. Rochelle's lies issues and her difficulty to face reality amused me because it is typically a normal teenager's reaction. You have to make mistakes to grow! And the author pictured it very adequately
But we see the characters evolve, especially Noah. They make efforts to improve and be stronger because of love. So through their tentatives, the romantic in me that has been affected!
As for the high school atmosphere, its was a little too soft. Everyone seems to be nice and not messing around too much. I found it too smooth for my taste. Not that youth is necessarily wanton, but high schoolers tend to be immature. Some of them test life boundaries beyond the normal limits, as if they had too much to prove. So they always are in the extreme. Extreme emotions, extreme behaviour, extreme need to grow up fast even if they don't have all the cards in their hands. So, that part of it seemed too sweet but enough to match the atmosphere of the novel.
Finally, I liked the maturity of the two lovers and the painful choices they make about their future. Of course, we all want to get a fairy tale, but a first love is designed to give you wings not lock yourself.
A great surprise for a novel whose cover and synopsis does not reveal the full potential at its fair value. A teenage romance realistic and tender.

In fact, Jolie is attracted to Hauk despite the scars and skin grafts. She is able to see beyond the surface. She is a really strong character who inspire respect.
This volume contains also some suspense with the final battle against the Order. I admit I would have love more explosions and more magic... As for the fighting scenes, the first volume is much more impressive.
On the other hand, the emotions are stronger. The characters are fighting for acceptance, tolerance and the concept of beauty in general.
It is also instructif to see Hauk, so focused on the importance of appearance, when he manages to find his body. Believing he is ugly and unworthy of love, he choose his ultimate reward to Jolie without thinking of the pain of an empty life. For him, It was difficult to accept that his lover could care for him beyond the physical criteria. Making a parallel with our own insecurities, its show the importance of a whole acceptance from the one we love. It's what give us fuel to be confident...
I confess that I have not needed for the fairy tale and magic to make the end a very nice one. These ingredients are just a bonus ...
This is a great series full of action, supernatural, tolerance and love.

After reading the synopsis, I expected to follow the story of a superhero. A woman worthy of appearing in X-Men, who managed to save a boy from a fall on the metro, before disappearing in the wildness of New York. Imagine, what was my surprise to come across an exciting thriller written as an investigative inquiry...with nothing supernatural but however an exciting manhunt.
The reader follows a former prosecutor-turned journalist, McKenna. She made headlines, when she lost her job in pinpointing wrongly a cop in a rather complicated case. In parallel to her professional life getting upside down ten years earlier, her best friend from college, Susan who had mysteriously disappeared one day. Susan, the same friend who introduced her to her husband, Patrick, who had a similar military background by both going to West Point. Ten years have passed and the two cases resurface. Coincidence or not? When corpses begin to appear and evidences to disapear, McKenna feels the track to dig for answers. But asking too many questions is never a good idea ...
Do we really know anyone? Do you think that the self-image reflected by someone and its real personality are the same one? Everyone keeps secrets to protect themselves and the ones they love... How huge are yours?
Beautifully written, this novel brings to suspect all the protagonists to hide something linking the two cases. Then the reader speculates. Twists after twists, the author keeps you in suspense thanks to the tenacity of McKenna and plausibility of details and facts. Captivating and brilliant, this thriller that made me turn the pages without ever suspecting the end.
A beautiful suspenseful story that will make your brain run wild.

I have not been disappointed by the main and secondary characters. I was as well surprised by the intensity of the emotions related to Maryah memories and the ones display for the search for Gregory. The author has managed to make Maryah and Nathan more open with each other so their love story is poignant and sweet. But Harmany's fragility and obstination was well pictured also. All the characters are engaging and charming.
Nathan loses his taciturn behavior and becomes much more playful and sensual with his soulmate. He even helps her to find connections with her powers by suggesting more pronounced intimate scenes. Maryah, whom I blamed for being a little too smooth, takes the bull by the horns. If she does not yet have access to all of her gifts, she sees the potential of her powers. Based on the new evidences provided by the author, it is probably also a tragedy that led her to erase her memories... Her recovery may be less pleasing than expected by all members of her Kindrily...
Less action-oriented, even if there are still some good combats scenes, this volume focuses more on feelings and family ties. It's really like living among the X-Men and see their daily routine. This is very valuable and enjoyable.
All points that had bothered me in the first volume were erased and this sequel is much more accomplished. Besides, I think the next volume will be more darker and with a lot more fights. A series that has evolved and began to captivate me a lot!

A romance with sex scenes well written but too"Happily Ever After" for my taste. Quite short, perhaps too much, this story does not offer the possibility of letting you get actually attached to the characters. I've spend a pleasant moment, in a dream come true setting, but I was not blown away.
I found the end a little too perfect while being too exaggerated. The playboy billionaire who organizes a sleepover ... and eventually grew tired of his way of unbridled life for a woman meet on a beach...Really?! I know that you are in a romantic fiction but still.
So, if I have nothing to say about the lightness of history and its entertaining aspect, it is true that I had a sense of cliché and of "too much" to be true.
The "ENSLAVED" serie is a treat, even if sometimes a little disturbing. But I confess I've not expected a slave story for this third installment.

I admit that the age of Jessica, her need for money and inexperience in life have made me cringe when Roman asked her to belong to him. Associated with the age difference between the young woman and Roman, supported by some fair warnings from Elizabeth about the money issue and the submission... And this story has me extremely ill at ease.
Even when Roman is described as sincere in his intentions towards Jessica, even if he treated her with respect and that their relationships are consensual, I struggled to enjoy my reading.
And yet there are super hot scenes including spanking with Mistress Lauren that have piqued my interest. Idem for the tender moments shared with Roman that make me smile. But, I could not ignore the "but" that was nagging my mind ...

It has been a long time...moreThe author has embarked me into her beautiful romance from the beginning to the end! A deeply distressing and amazing voyage...
It has been a long time since I had not read a romance taking time to live with its characters and make them known and discovered intimately to the readers. Katherine Owen put her framework, pictured its landscapes and has described them with details for you to live as if you were a part of her world.
At the beginning, the reader follows Jordan in her life as a military wife with a husband who has to go back to war. Feelings of loneliness, anger against the noble but selfish husband's professionals choices. Because although, he loves his job and his country, every time he goes to Afghanistan, he leaves a wife and child behind. A difficult experience for all parties because the craving is an important part of their life.
The author then takes another direction when involving Brock in its romantic plot. A delicate love triangle, full of unspoken words and feelings, with an impossible promise to hold as a key word for drama. The story is emotionally charged with lightness touch of charming moments but also with horrible fate's blows that make you run hot tears.
All the disasters, that are linked like a cruel joke from fate, have seemed difficult to bear. Jordan is so unlucky with all the heavy crap she has to deal with, that I wondered how she did not end in therapy. Her strength and determination are admirable but a little less horror in her life would have been nice.
Meanwhile, this novel has made me eagerly turned the pages, kleenex in hands! A romance to devour absolutely ...
