The protagonist is Felix Castor, a freelance exorcist who exorcises demons, zombies, loup-garous, and ghosts with the use of music. Felix is like the the Lone Ranger and Peter Venkman from the Ghostbusters combined together. He is always broke and can call upon spirits through the use of a tin whistle. The novel is set in an alternate reality of London where, for some unfathomable reason, spirits wander the Earth. Some of them are just there while some are more malignant than others. Some can even come back to their old bodies (zombies), while some can possess animals (loup-garous) and bend the animal's body to human form, sort of like werewolves. Demons and succubae (Succubi? Succubuses? Whatever the fuck the plural of succubus is) are also present in this book.
This a really superb book, and what I like about it is that it has a 'lil bit of almost everything that I like in a novel; horror, mystery, action, humor, sex, and even a tad bit of romance. Anyone who likes male urban fantasies will surely enjoy this book. :D
