And that ladies and gentleman is what the world truly revolves around.
When shit gets real "intense"... Alice gets a vision, she sees the other vampires coming and they are going to be there in 5 minutes. They decide it would be a bad idea for them to leave?? Why is that exactly? They say that Edward cannot run fast enough with her on his back. Fast forward to later once James has caught her scent, Edward is running with Bella on his back and Alice and Emmett follow behind. Bella notes that Emmett and Alice cannot even keep up with Edward while they are running...hmm...sounds to me this whole crisis could have been avoided. <--- and should have been...because it's lame.
More "intense" shit....
Bella gets away from Alice in airport. Granted the airport is crowded I get that, but she should have been able to see her getting away, at the very least, once she put her plan in action! Aaaaand how is it this "ordinary" human gets away from two smart vamps? How is it she manages to trick them. I understand that it was her own turf but seriously did she work at the airport one summer and she just knows how easy it is to loose people. She has the layout mapped in her brain.
So that is why the book bothers me, there is no plot. Things just happen then just stop happening. The only win for me is that their are good vampires and they are "vegetarians." Because what girl hasn't dreamed up awesome vamps. I was a Buffy fan and loved me some Angel...There is still hope out there, just not in this book. Unless it revolved around Jasper...than, maybe :) (less)

I cannot say I thought the same about Ywilight and Eclipse but I really enjoyed the secondary characters coming more to life, The Quilette tribe, Rosalie, and Jasper, and of course Alice. We did not learn anything new about her through this book but it was interesting seeing her struggle with her visions and then to be dissapointed about the sneaking off to Vegas and then get her thrill with being able to handle the whole thing. While I still feel that these books are missing a much needed plot the back story kept me turning the pages, eager to find out if Bella will realize her feelings for Jacob and feeling my stomach drop when it was not enough (and I have read the books before). Well now onto Breaking Dawn to see if it will suprise me like this one did or dissapoint me like Twilight and New Moon did.(less)
I will write it when I feel like it...I am still thinking about Kishan and I want to enjoy it.

This review is hard for me to write. I thought a lot of this series and was afraid that the worst may happen. Sadly, I was partially correct. Tiger's Curse and Tiger's Quest were both very good books with some gut wrenching endings. In spite of the endings I have really liked those two books. Now, there is a pattern here. Before reading this book I knew that there was going to be another gut wrenching ending. The problem with this is when an author sticks themselves to a paradigm schedule they can start to burn out and the story starts to become unoriginal and even predictable. *Gasps* Oh no!
While Houck’s writing has certainly seemed too improve. In this book she tried to incorporate the Chinese language. Up until now she has been using Hindi in her novels and because I speak absolutely none of that language I can only assume she is using it correctly. Chinese, however, I am familiar with. I have only begun beginners Chinese but I could see some obvious flaws in grammar and translation issues. I even had my Chinese professor check over my translations of her pinyin, yes she used pinyin I will talk about that in a moment, and she said it is nothing a Chinese person would ever say. Now, back to the topic of pinyin. Chinese use symbols to read and write. They never use pinyin except to type characters on their computer or text messages to find the correct character. The symbols of the Chinese language are so beautiful I do not know why, if you were planning on using Chinese in your novel that you would ever want to write it in pinyin. If you are going to use the Chinese language do not go half way, Go all out. So that part definitely disappointed me with the incorrect translation and the lack of characters, but that was not the meat of the story.
The characters...I Love Kishan, I love his brother Ren about half as much. Kelsey, well let’s just say if I had been on that yacht she would have been kicked off of it in the middle of the night while everyone is sleeping because she is an idiot.
Let’s start with the good. Kishan is lovely and he is exactly what any women should want in a man. He is kind and sweet, but he also has a dark fiery passion that can make your knees weak. Let me just say that I love him and if I ever find him in this world, I will make sure he never has to be with a want in his life! However, loyal and loving he may be he never gets the true credit he deserves. He is and always will be in the shadow of his somewhat worthy older brother Ren.
Yes, the love triangle gets heated up a notch when Kelsey decides to make her choice for good between these lovely brothers. Although it was a complete fail because the love in this book made me sick. Seriously, I cannot see what anyone would see in Kelsey. Seeing the love she felt through her own thoughts made me want to puke. She makes her "final" choice for all the wrong reasons. Leading the reader to know that her "final" choice is bullshit and will never last. This can only lead to more devastatingly dull bull shit. I of course feel Kishan can do no wrong. His sincerity and his love shown in TV is endearing and heartwarming. I just wish it had gone to a more deserving party *cough* ME *cough, cough*
I am so confused how this story can be so promising to me and yet get me absolutely nowhere. This pattern that Houck has made makes it so easy for me to know exactly what is going to happen next. There is no surprise to it anymore. When I finished this book I was so confused. I thought to myself What? Is she serious? We should only be about halfway through the book right now. Instead, she accomplished her six "mandatory" hours so now she can just end the book whenever she feels like it? *Major Puzzelment* All this book was is a place holder till the next one. There was no excitement. All the obstacles Kelsey and her gang of love struck kitty cats get in are solved so easily. There is never a moment where I think to myself OH NO they are not going to make it out!!! Instead, I have to yawn and say what miracle shall befall them this time. So I get the song Easy Street from All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 stuck in my head. I am left wondering, with a question mark over my head, when the heck is it going to rain on their magic act and they finally have to come back to reality?
I know the ending is supposed to be this big deal, but I cannot even take it seriously. I mean at the end of TC and TQ you have this moment alone with Kelsey where she says something or makes some kind of promise to herself and says that is what is going to happen. Then you read the next book and it never does! So I am sitting reading the end of TV and I actually LAUGH at the ending. I mean come on! What kind of cliff hanger is that? Houck, you actually think I believe something bad is going to happen? Please, she is on Easy Street. Remember? You put her there. Nothing bad ever touches Kelsey. She just believes it does with her pitiful whining all the time. “I Love him, we are meant to be with each other but he is too dangerous to love I might get hurt blah blah blah whine whine whine.” It's like Damn girl get some gall and do not be such a little bitch baby and go with your heart! I am soooo over it. I will be finishing this series because I Love all the other characters so much. And I do believe that the story will get better after this book. I just wish I could be stuck in one of the other characters heads instead of Kelsey's childish mind.
So until the next book I will be stuck in...
Easy Street! Where the sun's always shining! There’s no clouds in the sky!
I recommend you watch this youtube clip if you do not know what I am talking about!
