The latest one was about the same snake that has been in her dreams and two haloed individuals who offered her a drink. Our heroine wakes up and the story begins. Taylor was starting his freshman year at UT. On her first day, she met Gabriel. Who was Gabriel? Why was she seeing weird light around him? Who was he really?
This book was definitely interesting. It steered away from the typical Angel and Demon stories. It was very creative. It was fresh. This book actually has the potential to be a very good book if it wasn’t for the characters. I felt they were a little undeveloped.
Let’s talk about Taylor and Gabriel. Taylor has a weird habit of looking for a four leaf clover everywhere she went. But still I kind of liked her. Gabriel on the other hand, frightened me a bit. I knew there was something wrong about him from the start. I just didn’t know how their feelings for each other developed after 2 dates. I am not really a fan of insta-love and I liked that this book was not like that but the development of the attraction between Taylor and Gabriel was just too fast for me. Too fast that Gabriel decided to betray his kind for Taylor.
For me a good YA book should have a good story, good characters and good writing. For me this book has two of those just a little behind on character development but I couldn’t judge yet because I haven’t read the other books so I guess we’ll have to find out. :D

The Puppet Parade will keep you at the edge of your seat. It is a beautifully written fairytale-like story of a girl who has never seen her face and a boy who had a weird facination with puppets.
I would have to say that this book is one of the most original books I have ever read so far. The characters, the setting, the development, it was nothing like I've ever read before. There was this certain feel to it that will keep you reading and asking for more.
I have always been a fan of fantasy books or anything that has sort of a magical feel to it and this one definitely has the right amount of that magical feel and also a little darkness to it. It wasn't your typical YA book. If I would recommend this book, I'll probably recommend it to everyone and not just YA readers because to me this book trancends age and time. Why? Because this book is not all about magic or talking and walking puppets, not just about these two characters finding the puppets but there is a deeper meaning to the story that I think even adults will enjoy.
It was wonderfully crafted to cater readers of all ages. It will take you to a place that you never knew existed because as I have mentioned to me this book was one of a kind. The unexpected twist, the childish but very descriptive way of writing and the powerful characters were enough to keep everyone reading for more.
The Puppet Parade is definitely one impressive debut. Ms. Alayan is definitely an author to watch out for.
*Thank you Ms. Alayan for giving me the opportunity to read and review your book.* (less)

What if fate decided to intervene and you did meet, would you leave the person you are with now to be with him/her?
When Lauren turned 18, she has been getting dreams about a man whom he hasn't met yet. Lauren called him her "destiny". Silly as she said it might be, she wanted him to be true. Unexpectedly, Lauren gets shot during an attempted robbery in the place where she worked. Fate decided to intervene. The man of his dreams came. He came in the form of an EMT named Max who had amazing green eyes. Only problem was she was currently attached to Seth, her longtime best friend. How would she weigh things? Will she stay Seth, the person whom she'd known all her life or leave him and be with Max the guy who has been haunting her dreams and turned out to be a reality?
This book was totally amazing! I wasn’t expected to be this hooked with this book. I am just saying it because I got this book from the author but because it's true. The book was just awesome. Books like these should be promoted more. There are a lot of things to love about this book.
The pacing was good. The action was already there on the first few pages of the book and progresses as the story goes along. It didn’t dwell too much on Lauren the first chapter; it focused more on what happened with Lauren and how she met Max. You get to know more about Lauren and her struggles as the story goes which for me was very good.
The characters: Well I couldn’t help but just love Lauren. I am not a usual fan of insta-love but with this book I have to make an exception. The instant chemistry or connection between Lauren and Max was so good I wanted to hug them for real. I found my heart skipping erratically with Lauren every time I read of Max. Swoon-worthy Max. *Sigh* Anyways, back to Lauren! I liked her ability to sense what people were like. It was a unique ability that I think I haven’t read in any books yet. She used it without any regard for herself which was why she became a hero! I don't want to give any more details on that. I know I have to hate her for you know leaving her boyfriend Seth for Max but I wasn’t mad for some weird reason. I was actually wanted her to leave Seth. I know its bad but what can I do? The connection between Max and Lauren was all over the place. I could feel it so strongly that I could almost feel the electricity they feel when they're together. Don't get me wrong Seth is a good guy. I liked Seth and was happy for him in the end. He was understand and loving. But he was destined for someone else. *Ooopppsss was that a spoiler?*
Now my favorite character! Max! I just adored Max! I would have traded places with Lauren if I get to be with someone like Max. I mean he was smoking hot. *Geeezzz!* Those green eyes I could almost see them. But seriously, putting all his gorgeousness aside, he was perfect. He was cool. He loved the outdoors. He respected Lauren. He did not take advantage of her in any way. He had a little jealous side though which I found real cute. If I had someone like Max as a boyfriend, I would feel like I won the lottery.
There was a character that I didn’t really expect him to be. Paul. I wouldn’t tell you more about him but he was definitely one of the twists I did not expect. So was the ending. It was not a cliff hanger but I was a little sad about the ending. Poor Max.
I loved how Ms. Straight made myth about how souls connected with each other. It was very creative. This book exceeded expectations. It didn’t just exceed it totally soared higher than what was expected. I love every minute of it. Only thing I would have to negatively comment on was the cover. I was not really crazy about it. The girl was pretty and all but I would have preferred something more creative, something that would give more justice to the contents of the book.

I don’t know why but it didn’t. You might be asking why I reread it? I reread it because of Obsidian which exteremely awesome and addicting! I was also hesitant to read that book because of how I felt about this book but when I got HOOKED with Obsidian I told myself I have to give the Covenant series another try which I did and was totally happy that I gave it another shot.
For you to really get the feel of this series I think its necessary to read this prequel first. Daimon shows you what happened before the first chapter of Half Blood. It shows you a the major plot line that will be further stretched out in the next books. It deals about Mythology like I’ve never seen before. I mean I love Greek Myth spin-off like Starcrossed and the Goddess Test but this one is very different. It has an entirely different feel to it which makes it all the more intriguing and interesting.
What I really loved about this was the writing style. I love fast-paced books and this one was one of them books that will keep you at the edge of your seat. There were no dull moment here I tell you. Ms. Armentrout, I am so in love with you!

I love Kaidan's POV. I hope that there will be more shorts on his POV. :) How can I have just read this now? Thank you Pang for letting me know about these shorts!
