It's not crying because it's not entirely bad. I am not saying it's bad, its just thatI didn't enjoy this as much as I enjoyed the first book.
Read further to know why.
Starcrossed ended with a huge frustrating cliffhanger! Turns out Helen and Lucas were cousins imagine that?!
Okay going back, Helen is a Descender meaning she is could go down to the Underworld eventhough she isn't dead yet. Why does she have to go down to there? She needs to break the curse of the Furies. It's a very big responsibility for her. To make matters worse, she was forbidden to be with the guy she loves, Lucas(WTH right?!).
To make matters even more complicated, enter Orion (the first Scion) and a Descender as well sent by Daphne (Helen's selfish mother) to help Helen on her task.
Will Helen and Lucas find out the truth about them? Will Helen be successful killing the Furies and stop the blood feud? What is Orion's role in all of this? What is Helen's mother (that sly woman!) up to?
Of course, Starcrossed was one of the first books I've read after I switched from reading mystery novels. It's one of the YA books I've read that really amazed me. I was an immediate fan and after the first book I obviously wanted to get my hands on the second one.
I so wanted to get my hands on Dreamless because I was so sure that it would be as good as or much better than the first one.
So here is my initial reaction:
Lets start with Helen. I've always loved Helen in Starcrossed. Not much of a fan of her here. On the first book she was this real pretty girl with awesome powers plus she wasn't the typical whiny girl who needs to be saved a lot. Imagine my surprise when that all changed in Dreamless. She was the exact type of female lead I hated in books! Gosh if I had those powers girl I would have been kickass and fearless! I wouldn't need a guy to save my ass at all! There wasn't much to like about Helen on this book aside from the fact that she is doing what she is tasked to do without complaint and I think that is admirable. She gets better as the book goes but still she was still a "damsel in distress" for me in this book.
I was extremely disappointed in Lucas. I get that he's in pain that they couldn't be together but give me a break! I mean he could have done research on the problem that they were having or really verify if they were really cousins. I mean people lie and well Helen's mother did. It was up to them to prove her wrong if he was really thinking! But no he wasn't. He thought that making Helen hate him was a good plan or avoiding her or pushing her to Orion. I mean come on Lucas! You are one of my favorites and don't let me down on the third book please! He was also MIA in this book a lot so don't expect to see much of him.
The first Scion Orion was a breath of fresh air. I mean having a love triangle isn't but with the tension in this book I think it was only right that Orion was added. At first I thought I'd get mad at him but then he proves to be one good character. He's good looking, funny and among other things he cared for Helen at the time she needed someone's support the most.
I hated Helen's mother to the CORE!
The other characters doesn't seem to care much about Helen on this book. Its a good thing Orion was there for her.
LUCAS + HELEN = TOTALLY DEPRESSING
I want to pull all of my hair out because of how frustrated I was in what happened to them. I loved their relationship in Starcrossed and was totally depressed in Dreamless. The whole "cousin" thing really got me thinking a lot about Filipino soap opera! This is the kind of stuff that I thought you could only get at a Filipino drama series. Turns out I was wrong.
ORION + HELEN = UNEXPECTED
It was fun reading about them. I mean it was kind of innocent for me which is what I liked. Orion was a good guy (at least for now I think). Orion and Helen had chemistry too which was good. And I liked him for sticking around for Helen. Kudos to you ORION!
“Even if it kills me, staying awake and seeing you... is better than any dream.”
“It's not our talents that make us safe or dangerous, it's our choices.”
“You're my invisible sun, aren't you?”
- ORION was the most important highlight for me in this book.
- The mythology was still as good as the first one.
I am a fan of this series and still am but I am just not happy with how things turned out after the second book. I am a huge fan of Ms. Angelini because he writing style is definitely something that I adore.
There were a lot of parts in this book that shouldn't have been there anymore in my opinion. It was so overloaded with stuff that was not necessary. There were tons of new information and before I could process them all new information would be given. I don't know if I am just really slow or there really is a problem with it because as far as the ratings go this book is getting high ones.
There was something missing in this book that apparently was present in the previous one. I just couldn't put my finger on what it is but maybe it was because there was so littl of Helen and Lucas moments I don't really know.
I am getting entirely upset on the Lucas-Helen are cousins drama. I hate the fact that no one seemed to want to find out if Daphne was telling the truth even Lucas and Helen didn't seem to want to disprove Daphne's claim because no one was trying to figure out if its true or not. It's upsetting. Drama like this is the reason why I don't often watch Filipino drama because things like this ALWAYS happen.
I am disappointed. Very actually. But this series for me is still worth finishing. I am definitely looking forward to seeing Helen and Lucas happy and together!

I’ve got Until I Die as an ARC and was dying to get my hands on it because the first book left me begging for more.
First off, I would like to emphasize that I love Ms. Plum. I love the way she writes and her creative way in making the dead so hot. :) I love the chemistry between Kate and Vincent on the first book. I also love the supporting characters specifically Jules (who doesn’t love Jules? *wink*) I love the whole concept of the Revenants. I love the setting (Where? Paris baby!) Plus the cover of the first and second book were G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S! (who’s with me??!) There are tons of things to love about the Revenant series but this second book slightly disappointed me. For me it wasn’t as good as the first one. A lot of you might bash me for even saying that but really there are a lot of low points for me in this book but luckily the ending still made it a good book for me. I just love unexpected endings! And this book despite the cliffhanger would definitely put you at the edge of your seat pleading for the next book!
Here the low lights of this book for me: 1. I love Kate and Vincent. I already made that clear on the first part of this review. Their relationship for me was as normal as breathing for me even though we all know how not normal their relationship is (falling in love with a dead person? Definitely not normal! :P) Their relationship for me here began from being “aww so cute” to “arrrggg they should split up” for me. I was like “OOOhh myyy Goosh she shouldn’t have done that or noooo he should have been honest with her”. Something was so not right with Kate and Vincent on this book. Their couple problem was actually the reason why the bad thing at the end of the book happened. *Ooopps. Sorry for the spoiler* There were secrets involved which caused misunderstandings and even more problem. I was like “Come on Vincent you’re becoming like paranoid Edward!” This just didn’t work well with me. I was hoping for something more. 2. It lacked action. Yeah there were a bit towards the end but yeah I was hoping the second book would have more kickass scenes but no there wasn’t much more than the first one. It became boring on the middle part of the book but at least it progressed towards the end. 3. It was a little predictable. Okay, I am gonna be honest, it was very predictable. I knew who the bad guy was from the very beginning. That was a big minus point for me. 4. Like the first book, this book has a slow pace. Too slow for me. It worked for the second book but not on this one. I was hoping it would increase its pace because this is the second book but it didn’t.
Yeah I know I noticed a lot of bad things but there were good things too. 1. Let me start with the cover. It is just so gorgeous. Sometimes the book’s cover makes a reader want to open its pages. 2. I get to learn more about the Revenant history more. I am always fascinated with how they started or if whether everyone does what they do or if whether they know everyone and how the Revenant thing worked. If you want to find out more about the Revenants definitely you’ll find your answers here. There was less action but more information. 3. I usually don’t like cliffhangers and this book has the worse one! Why worse? Because it would definitely make you want more of it. It was also definitely unexpected which makes it all the more “uuuhhhh! I wanna get my hands on you” book.
This may not be one of my favorite sequels but it the third one I think would be very much anticipated not just by me but by everyone! I think this book suffered the “middle book syndrome”. It wasn’t so bad but for me it was just a little disappointing.
Will I still read the last book? Definitely! I want to know how everything will play out. I want to see what happens to Vincent and Kate. I want to know if Jules will find love. *giggle* I want to know if Charles and Charlotte will move back to Paris. There are tons of things that I want to know and hopefully the finale won’t disappoint me.
As much as I would like to give it 4 stars or more, I really couldn’t. I give this book 3.5 stars! (less)
Seriously. I don't know how to start reviewing this. I just couldn't believe I made myself wait for this...moreDaemon Black = PERFECTION
Seriously. I don't know how to start reviewing this. I just couldn't believe I made myself wait for this long. I am such an I.D.I.O.T. Daemon baby, I wish you could forgive me for being away from you for so long!!
ONYX was just...
I can't even begin to explain how I felt after I read Onyx. There is just really no words to describe how unbelievably spectacular the experience was. It just have everything in it. It was just so damn PERFECT. I thought Obsidian was already AMAZING but Onyx just went above and beyond AMAZING. It was just PERFECT.
Katy was trying hard to stay away from Daemon but Daemon was making it so hard for her to do so.
Daemon wanted to prove to Katy that he would do anything for her.
Katy was just dead-set on her belief that all of the stuff that Daemon has been pulling to get her to fall for him was because of the connection that they with each other he healed her.
Out of the blue, a mysterious new guy comes in.
Katy thought Blake was the one who'll be able to make her feel normal. But was his intentions clean like what she wants herself to believe? Or does he have secrets of his own that might endanger herself and the people she care about.
First off, I would like to say again that this book was IMMACULATE. I couldn't think of any bad thing to say about it unless you count the ending. It was a total cliffhanger! But it's not something I'm mad about anyway because I don't think I want it to have ended any other way.
Okay so I'll have to start first with Katy. I liked her. She was actually one of the best book heroine I've read so far, that is in Obsidian. But in Onyx, I still like her but majority of the time (let's say around 90%) i wanted to strangle her kill her because she was getting to annoying. I mean I get her reasons really but what actually pissed me off about her is her lack of trust in Daemon. I mean you wouldn't trust a guy who saved your freakin' ass for how many times but you are willing to trust a guy you barely know?
For me that's just plain stupid. I'm sorry but that was just a big NO for me. There were a lot of times I wanted to pull her hair and b*tch-slap her until she wakes up. Good thing she does wake up and realizes what a moron she has been not only to Daemon but to everyone else around her.
Okay so let's talk about my favorite part of the book.
There's DAEMON with all his ILLUSTROUS ALPHA MALENESS.
I loved Daemon in Obsidian but in Onyx I became OBSESSED. I would willingly become his slave if he asks me to. I'll be more than happy to make sweet little alien babies with him. It sounds sick but hell yeah I wanna be with Daemon in all ways possible.
Daemon has not been the greatest guy in Obsidian. In Onyx, he made me fall head-over-heels crazy, madly, in love with him. You'll get to see the side of him you only caught a glimpse of in Obsidian. He will be his usual jerky self but then again you'll also see his sweet, protective side that would make you swoon for him over and over again. You'll see that even though Daemon shows everyone what a tough guy he is, he shows his vulnerable side here which made him more endearing to me.
I'll have to stop talking about Daemon now because I could go on forever on how freaking amazing he is.
Okay so the twists that Onyx had was nothing compared to Obsidian or Shadows. I kind of liked how things built up from where the last book ended to where this book started.
Let's talk about the new character Blake who Daemon saw as a competition for Katy's affection. But seriously there was NO competition. Come on Daemon? Really? You think Blake was a competition. Not a part of him could compare to you, please remember that? Katy was just being stupid agreeing to be around that guy. I wouldn't want to tell you more about Blake because I'll give too much away. All I could tell you though is that I really want to say to him,
I hated the guy. Right from the moment I read about him. Well I'll let you be the judge of that when you read about him.
Anyways, this book will really leave you literally BEGGING for more. There is just too much awesomeness in this book. I mean the whole flow of the story made sense to me. I didn't like Katy being stupid but I guess it also worked in a way because it kind of forged a way to make Katy and Daemon's relationship even closer.
Romance, action and suspense was not the only thing to watch out for in Onyx. There will also be drama. It won't be a real tear-jerker but a part of it will really really make you feel sad. Just thinking about it makes me sad again.
ONYX one f*cking rollercoaster ride!
And I think its safe to say NOW that it has become my favorite series of all time! This series is so unbelievable. So for those of you who haven't read it yet, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR?" This is a seriously awesome book and you are so wasting your time not reading it.
To end this outrageously long review, I want to share one of my favorite *infuriatingly* cute scene in Onyx:
"You... you're not going to believe me." He pressed another sweet and tender kiss against my lips. "But I want to do this right."
I started to smile. "I doubt you could do this wrong."
Daemon's lips stretched into a smug half grin. "Yeah, I'm not talking about that. That I will do perfectly, but I want to... I want us to have what normal couples have."
This just took my breath away. It was like I died and went to heaven. ^^ I loved every minute of this! ********************************************* PRE REVIEW:
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!!! For the love of all the alien babies everywhere! ^^ I am so amazed on how good this book is! The first was already amazing but this was just out of this world!!
I could just...
Katy was a real disappointment for me here but Daemon was just...

I really L.O.V.E JACE! He is such a great guy. He is your typical lead male character that is so perfect. Jace may look like an angel but he is not perfect. He has his flaws too which showed in this book. He struggles with his feelings for Clary. He is almost real to me. As for Clary? Uhmmmm. I am not so sure if I like her or I dont. I don't like the way her relationship with Simon went. I feel bad for him because if I was Simon I would've felt used.
Anyways I really love this series. Thank you Cassandra Clare for writing this series. Can't wait for the movie!!!! ^_______^(less)

Reading this broke my heart. I am very sorry this happened. I have been very hostile towards you before but now I understand. I feel your pain and for that my heart aches that you are in this situation. I love Jem. But now I am confused. I hope things would turn out well. Will. You have a portion of my heart now. Please stay how you are now. Don't change back to who you are before.
The long wait is finally over. The long wait was worth it.
Clockwork Prince did not disappoint! Ms. Clare continues to impress me with her flawless writing style and creativity.
Clockwork Prince started where Clockwork Angel ended.
Now, where to start?
I usually give a brief summary of the book prior to me giving my review but I'll make an exception on this one. I don't want to give any spoilers though I think I still would be whether I like it or not. The Clockwork Prince was just so good I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs and tell everyone who haven’t read the book to read it. I am so truly, madly, deeply in love with the Infernal Devices series.
COMMENTS ABOUT THE STORY: As I have mentioned earlier, Clockwork Prince started exactly where Clockwork Angel left off. Clockwork Angel left me with so many questions. The cliffhanger at the end of the Clockwork Angel seriously made me crave for more Tessa, Will and Jem. Clockwork Prince answered most of my questions. Mostly it answered my questions about Will. Tessa's lineage was still a mystery. I loved the twists on this book. It just keeps on getting better and better. There were parts in the book that left my heart beating fast while there were also parts that left my heart aching. It was very fast-paced. There were no dull moments. Clockwork Prince ended in a very surprising way. It was an ending I didn’t expect.
COMMENTS ABOUT THE MAIN CHARACTERS:
WILL HERONDALE: When I reviewed Clockwork Angel I totally vented out all my hatred towards Will. I disliked Will. I detested him. But after reading Clockwork Prince, I felt ashamed. I knew in my heart there was a reason for him being like that. But I chose to judge him. Lesson learned. Don't judge people based on how they act there could be a reason behind it and in Will's case there really was. Will had to act the way he did because he needed to keep people away. His sacrifice crushed my heart. This book shed a new light on Will. He was not who I thought he was. There was more to him than what I had originally thought. I feel bad for him too. Just when the walls around him were finally crumbling, he had to face his biggest heartbreak ever. Will. I am soooo sorry.
JAMES CARSTAIRS: Jem has always been my favorite. He was like the most perfect guy or boyfriend you would ever meet. PERFECT for ME not Tessa! Hehehe. He was the type of guy you bring home to meet your parents. He was however still sick. I loved him instantly in Clockwork Angel and I loved him even more in Clockwork Prince. My Jem definitely came out of his shell. I was just so freaking surprised about what happened between him and Tessa! Why oh why JEM!!! Despite my new found love for Will, Jem my heart still belongs to you. (Now I know how Tessa feels. Hahaha)
TESSA GRAY: Tessa's character is one of the few that I liked. She wasn’t whiny. She doesn’t complain a lot. She doesn’t have that teen angst that was mostly present on female protagonists. Maybe it was because she was from the Victorian Era I am really not sure. I find Tessa very likeable. Although much was happening around her, it didn’t change who she was. She was still very much determined to know who she is and why her brother betrayed her. She was also concerned with what was happening to the Institute. But I think her main struggle was her feelings towards Will and Jem. I envy you for having this kind of stress. She’s so lucky to have two gorgeous boys hovering over her. There was a certain point in the book that I disliked her though. I am a bit overprotective of Jem and I don’t want him to get hurt. If she does, I would really get pissed off. Hahaha. Anyways, I am not really sure what Ms. Clare is planning on this very complicated love triangle but I have faith that she'll make everything right.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE SECONDARY CHARACTERS?
What I love about Ms. Clare’s novels is the fact that even the secondary characters have their own story.
Charlotte and Henry’s struggles were not only those related to the Institute but also their married life. They weren’t sure what they meant to each other. Fortunately, everything was cleared out here in the Clockwork Prince.
Sophie and Gideon’s relationship was something I was not expecting. I thought they were just perfect for each other.
Benedict Lightwood’s actions were due to something much deeper than his interest in the position of the head of the Institute.
Jessamine Lovelace as before still got to my nerves. She was still a spoiled brat who doesn’t listen to anyone but herself. She got what she deserves.
Magnus Bane was his usual quirky self. He helped Will like he helped Jace and Clary. Always the helpful warlock. :D There was a funny scene between Magnus and Will. I was laughing my head off as I was reading that. Wonder what Magnus was feeling then? Was it because of Will that he…? Hahaha. Who knows? It doesn’t matter if it was because of Will that he changed preferences, I still like him. :D
Nathaniel Gray knew something about Tessa but before he could review what it was… Well, you have to find out for yourself.
THOUGHTS AND PONDERINGS after I finished the book.
Just when most of my questions had been answered, more questions had taken its place. What was Nathaniel going to say? What will happen to Tessa, Will and Jem now? What would Mortimer do to Benedict Lightwood? What would happen to Jessamine? What happened to Will’s family? Will they ever find a cure for Jem’s ailment? Where was the Magister? Who are Tessa's parents? Is Tessa part Shadowhunter? Most of questions from the first book had been answered here but then more questions seemed to appear in its place. The love triangle between Tessa, Will and Jem just breaks my heart. Why? Read the book so you'll find out. Seriously, this book was amazing. If there were flaws in this book I didn’t notice it because I was so entranced with the story that I didn’t really mind it there were minor slips. I am so excited to get my hands on Clockwork Princess. GEEZ! Why does it have to take so long before it gets released? I would count the days. I am sure that it would also be worth the wait.(less)

How could you do this to me??!!
UNRAVEL ME, SHATTERED ME! Seriously! All my thoughts just went completely fried or toasted!!! I wasn't expecting the complete turn of events! It gets even better and better. The first one got me at the edge of my seat, the second one had me screaming for me.. I wonder what the hell the third book will do to me? o.o Dang it Ms. Mafi! I nearly went crazy on this one.
So how am I going to start reviewing this? Geez. It's been weeks after I've done reading this but I still got a hangover the stuff that has happened. It was mindblowing and totally unexpected. It just gave me all sorts of things to think about. It made me wonder what will happen next or what other stuff is there that people are hiding or if there is or I'm just being totally paranoid.
Okay so back to the review. Juliette was still at the underground facility along with the rest of the gifted peeps. Juliette was still learning to control her powers while behind her Adam was undergoing some tests on why he has some sort of protection against Juliette's deadly touch. So when Juliette found out, she freaked! That was very hard to take seriously. It was just too painful to watch them. I didn't like how their relationship turns out here but there was a twist in the story that I never knew was going to be there. I had no freakin' clue it there was going to be a love triangle here.
At first I was like,
But then Chapter 62, just blew me away!!!
It left me licking my lips and begging for more But Ms. Mafi here was being an Evil Author and cut it damn short!!! I so want more... PLEEEEAAASSEEE I WANT MORE!
I know you guys want to know who the third party is. Haha. I'm sure if you have been reading all the reviews here you would have known by now. But I'll tell you anyways.. W.A.R.N.E.R. That's the character that you should be looking out for in this book. Seriously, he's a book character but he already got me thinking twice about whether Adam was really the right choice for Juliette. I dunno, Adam seemed a little too soft for me in this book. And Juliette is already soft. I'm sorry. I'm not a big fan of Juliette in this book. She became such a weak character for me here but glad to know she got her spark back towards the end.
This guy was such a big surprise!! I knew there was a reason why there was that novella Destroy Me. There was!! Unless, Ms. Mafi will be making a novella for Adam too now it is really going to make me wonder who will end up with Juliette. I don't care if he's a crazy and obsessive. I still think he and Juliette belongs together. It was so damn obvious on this book.
But what about Adam you say? Hmmm.. That is a tough question. Geezz. I like Adam but like I said earlier. He was too weak for me in this book. He became a little boring for me compared to how strong Warner's character became in this book.
I'm completely torn. I liked Adam and Juliette on the first book but now I'm not so sure. Now I am completely frustrated that I have to wait a year before I'll be able to know who Juliette chooses or ends up with!!! Isn't that freakin' frustrating????
Why do you enjoy torturing your readers Ms. Mafi!! Come on! Make it come earlier. Haha. Maybe this April or May?? Come on and be merciful to your avid readers who can't wait to get their hands on this one of a kind book.
I'll have to say that Ms. Mafi is one of the most creative writers ever. I don't think I've ever read another book that had the same feel as Shatter Me. It's on a totally different level and its that awesome.
If I'm going to talk some more I would be blabbering all about Warner and I wouldn't want you guys knowing about him more without reading it. So for those who haven't read it yet, please do read it. It's an amazing book with a very twisted twist that will blow your head up!!
I'm going to end with what I think is the best line I've heard so far in this series. For those who haven't read this second book yet, I'll let you guys guess who said these three words.

I am really a sucker for love stories like this one and this one made easily made it to my top reads! It was amazing. :)
I didn't read If I Stay so I don't really know Mia's side of the story but still reading this book actually said it all. You don't have to necessarily read the first book to understand what went on between Adam and Mia. This book is simply written but full of emotion.
I feel for Adam. I know Mia lost a lot too but my sympathy was still for Adam. Reading this book actually made me feel exactly how Adam was feeling. His pain, his misery, his loneliness.
This book is a must read. No wonder a lot of people gave this book 5 stars. It is a masterpiece. I loved every minute of it. I read it in 2 days. I could have read it in 1 day but then I had to work so it took me another day. When I paused at around half of the book, it really made me wonder why Mia left. It was in my head all day! OMG! I couldn't wait to get home and finish the book. It was torture to have to wait to finish and find out why Mia left Adam.

Meghan was able to successfully return her brother home. Prince Ash kept his side of the bargain and now it was her turn to return the favor.
The book started with Meghan dreaming about Machina and then waking up in one of the rooms in the Winter Court. She knew she had to go with Ash to the Unseelie Court because of their bargain but her other reason for coming was because of Ash himself. She was expecting at least a bit of support from him but instead she was getting the coldest treatment ever from him. She thought that she meant more to Ash but she was wrong. He abandoned her.
Meghan’s stay at the Winter Court was not pleasant but not unpleasant either. Everything changed when one of the Queen’s sons got murdered by one of the Iron fey who stole the Scepter.
Meghan now on the run with the help of Ash journey to seek for the stolen scepter to restore peace between the Summer and the Winter Court. There were trouble along the way but that didn’t stop them from their goal because something bigger was happening and they were right in the middle of it.
I liked the Iron King but the Iron daughter was even better! Everything about this series drew me in. There was truly magic within the pages of the book.
I loved Meghan even better in this book. I got a little irritated with her because of her little escapade with Puck. I love Puck and I don’t like it when he gets hurt. She felt a little Bella-like to me which I didn’t like at ALL! But even if I didn’t like that part it still won’t stop me from giving this book a perfect 5!
Ash. *Sigh* What could I say? I am madly in love with him. Shucks. In the Iron King I was so sure that I liked Puck but everything changed in an instant when Ash started to shed off the ice that was engulfing his heart. I understood him better. I loved his sincerity and bravery. What more could you ask for?
Puck. I love you and all but please don’t hurt yourself. You are a great guy and you deserve to be more than just the other guy.
This series was like a drug to me. It made me want for more. I have read one book after the other. I am halfway through The Iron Queen and after I would read Summer’s crossing and lastly my copy of the Iron Knight. Save the best for last as they say.
I really couldn’t find anything big to complain about. If there were some misses I obviously was not able to detect them since I was so engrossed with reading and knowing what would happen next.

I had the copy of Hades for at least a month now and I was very excited though a little anxious to read it. Why did I not read it sooner? Because I was a little skeptical as to how this book would turn out. I didn’t want to be disappointed with what would happen next between Beth and Xavier and everyone else.
So how was it?
Let me give you a brief summary first.
Bethany, Gabriel and Ivy were still in Venus Cove. They were angels sent to help the people on Earth and they were somehow fulfilling what they were sent to Earth for.
Bethany was still in high school and her relationship with Xavier was stronger than ever. Xavier knew that Bethany was an angel and he doesn’t care. Gabriel and Ivy somehow approved of their relationship because they found Xavier trustworthy of their secret.
It was Halloween. Everyone was excited to dress up for it. Bethany, however, did not see the point in doing so but she still did just to spend time with her friends and Xavier.
Her friends have something in mind, something that they weren’t supposed to do. They were going to do a séance. Bethany knew something was going to go wrong but because of her friends she decided to come along. They did the séance and something did go wrong they just didn’t know it yet at that time.
One of Xavier’s friends told Bethany that Xavier was involved in some sort of accident and because she was worried about his safety agreed to ride Wes’ motorcycle to reach Xavier in time.
Jake Thorne who disguised himself as Xavier’s friend tricked Beth and took her to Hades. Jake got out of Hell because of their little séance. Now Jake abducted Beth to become his Queen in Hades.
Xavier was distraught. He blames himself for what happened but would do everything he could to get her back even though he knew he was only human. Xavier, Gabriel and Ivy would stop at nothing to bring Bethany back. It was a very difficult task but not impossible.
The book started out okay. There was nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary.
Firstly, I was a little dubious with the séance thing and how everything would play out after that. I was having a hard time believing that an angel would even try one of those things even if her friends forced her to. Bethany was supposed to know what that thing could do. She was the supposed to be the one enlightening them about these types of things and not the other way around. So that part was a minus for me.
Secondly, I also couldn’t believe that Bethany would believe that Xavier would do something reckless. She should have known that Xavier would not do those things.
I got bored reading the first few parts of the book but then when Jake took Bethany to Hades that was a different story.
How Ms. Ardonetto depicted Hades was awesome. I mean it does remind me a bit of Dante’s Inferno but still it was good.
Everything about Hades was creatively crafted. I never thought of Hell like that. It was a little out the box which was why it worked for me.
When Bethany was doing the astral projection stuff I couldn’t believe how fluid everything went. I was expecting to be confused with Bethany not really being there and all but I was wrong. It was perfectly executed.
I would have given this book a 5 if I wasn’t so irritated with Bethany. Notice that the only two things that I had to comment on was the fact that Bethany was not thinking.
I had nothing against an angel falling in love with a human. There was nothing wrong with that. I loved Halo but in Hades it was like Bethany was not thinking at all. She would have done something really stupid if the rescue team didn’t come. I want to smack her in the face at that point. I am not going to give out any clues as to what that is. I’ll let you guys read it and tell me if you’d get the same reaction to that. Ultimate sacrifice? Give me a break! That will never be an ultimate sacrifice. She should have known better. Demons are not to be trusted, period!
I pretty much loved all the other characters. Xavier was still himself but he and Molly were getting into each other’s nerves a lot in this book. Gabriel and Ivy were still the same. Jake, I thought was changing a bit but in the later part of the book I was so wrong. Then there’s Bethany. I was just so irritated with her, seriously pissed off by her actions. She made it to my top 10 irritating heroines. Actually, I think she topped Bella!!
I wasn’t expecting the confrontation between Gabriel and Molly. I didn’t see that one coming.
The ending was a CLIFFHANGER! It was like the first one but this one was a MAJOR MAJOR CLIFFHANGER. Now, I have no choice but to read HEAVEN. I have to know what happens next.

REACTION AFTER READING THE BOOK
My heart Is just full of happiness right now!
To date, The Edge of Never and now The Edge of Always easily became my favorite book of all time.
Before I start and share my passionate love for this book. I'll start with a short GIST
Just when things are starting to fall into place... unexpected things happen that could possibly tear them apart.
Camryn and Andrew met on a Greyhound bus in Kansas. They met. Got to know each other. Went on a roadtrip. Helped each other. Fell in love.
They both didn't have any idea how that would change their life forever.
A few months after their roadtrip together, Camryn and Andrew couldn't be more happier. Things was starting to fall together. They made plans for their future. They made arrangements. They had to as they were expecting a baby girl along the way. But something happened. Something unexpected that pushed Camryn over the edge. She tries to hide it like she did a thousand times before but this time Andrew was there. He was there to make sure Camryn doesn't go through her struggles alone. He wasn't going to let her go. He wasn't going to let her fall apart without him. He was going to be there for her no matter what happens. Even if it kills him.
I just thought this book was really beautiful. Both of them are. I loved the first one, but this book really sealed the deal for me. This is my favorite books of all time. It touched me in ways other books couldn't.
It was a slow start I agree but I feel like it wouldn't be as heartfelt if the book was too rushed or something. It felt beautiful. It felt real.
I liked how Camryn and Andrew's relationship turned out. I knew there were loose ends on the last book with Camryn and I loved how Andrew helped her get over that. It was just beautiful and heartwarming and endearing and... Well I couldn't think of any more adjectives as of the moment that would describe how wonderful this book really made me feel. It took me up and down and all around! It was a complete rollercoaster ride.
I think the highlight of this story is really just about love. How love can heal everything. How love could mend broken things. I loved how Andrew showed Camryn how much he loves her no matter what. He never, not once, ever made her forget how much she means to him. He was just perfect. Andrew just couldn't stop swooning me until I am absolutely crazy for him. He was just perfect. I really wish I could find a guy like him.
Camryn. Although I didn't really agree on some of the decisions she made on this book and on the past one, I still liked her. People cope with pain and loss at different levels and I guess she just had too much and she just broke. Luckily, Andrew was there to pick up all the pieces and mend it back together.
I cried. Again. Seriously. For the nth time I really cried for this book. I am both happy and sad that its finally come to a close. I enjoyed the giggles that I get when Andrew made his moves on Camryn. I cried when it seems that the problems were pushing them away from each other. I got excited when they were going to go back on a roadtrip. I was happy and again teary-eyed when they finally got their happily ever after.
Love is such a special thing isn't it? I love J.A Redmerski so much I think I'll kiss her a million times when I see her.
When Camryn and Andrew did their little gigs every now and then, I absolutely imagined Andrew singing the song "Your Song" to Camryn. Of course, its the Cameron Mitchell version is what I was talking about. I attached a short snippet of the lyrics below.
It's a little bit funny this feeling inside I'm not one of those who can easily hide I don't have much money but boy if I did I'd buy a big house where we both could live
If I was a sculptor, oh, but then again, no Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show I know it's not much but it's the best I can do My gift is my song and this one's for you
And you can tell everybody this is your song It may be quite simple but now that it's done I hope you don't mind I hope you don't mind that I put down in words How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I seriously think its the perfect song for Camryn and Andrew. I really imagine him singing this song to Camryn and it melts my insides.. I feel extremely giddy just thinking about it.
Oh and last but not the least can I just say...
Seriously. Andrew is a total keeper! If I meet someone like him, I'd really throw my underwear across the room!! :D LOL. Just kidding!
All in all. I am totally in love with this book! This book left a mark on me and I will really really treasure it forever!
Amazing job JA Redmerski!! ************** Holy Smokes! Best ending ever in the entire universe!!! That was seriously AMAZING!
Right now I'm...

REACTION AFTER READING THE BOOK
Uhhhh... Was it good you ask?
Oh Julie Kagawa...
When it comes to your books, I don't think anyone can go wrong. That was just amazing!!
Before I share my thoughts further here is a short GIST for you.
Just when Ethan and Kenzie thought everything was back to normal... It wasn't... In fact, it got even more complicated. Keirran was missing. Everyone in the Iron Realm is looking for him and according to them, he just disappears as soon as they get close. Ethan knows what Keirran was trying to do. He was trying to save Annwyl. But the question is, what is the cost Keirran is willing to pay to save the one he loves? Will it endanger him? Will it endager the people he loves? And how will Ethan be affected by the choices that Keirran makes?
This book was from Julie Kagawa. I am not expecting any less than PERFECTION. I was so expecting this book to be as good as the others. I mean this is Julie *freakin* Kagawa we are talking about. What else should there be but absolute awesomeness right?
And boy she didn't disappoint at all!! :)
I've already done their character on my previous review of for the Lost Prince. You'll be able to see it on this link: The Lost Prince.
But I would just have to comment on how I thought the characters totally developed in this book. Ethan was totally swoon-worthy without even trying.
It was totally effortless. And what's even better? He totally showed us how kick-ass he is!! Oh not forget to mention that he is LOYAL to his family!! Ever heard about LOYALTY KEIRRAN? You maybe your father's MY BELOVED ASH son but that doesn't mean I'll favor you despite your stupidity and irrational decisions. You should be ashamed of yourself!!
Anyhow, I also liked Kenzie and how smart she was. Although, there were times that I find her annoying but still she saved Ethan on some cases because she knows how to use her head. :) *Good Girl!!* She was fragile, yes, but she didn't want people to see her as that. She wasn't like yout typical lead female who couldn't walk a step without leaning for support from their lead male. That is just pathetic. Good thing she wasn't anything like that! :)
Oh and Puck! Thank you for looking after that your friend's irresponsible and obviously deranged son.
That was just LOVE!
I felt love when I first read Iron King and I am still falling even more deeper in love with Kagawa's writing and the plot development of this series. There was OBVIOUSLY one hell of a cliffhanger for this book and it is annoying as hell but I think it was only right to keep the readers on the edge eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.
If this spin-off will end, I don't think I'll be able to find another fae book that will keep me interested as much as this series did. This was already a Fairy book at its finest and if anyone can beat that.. THE YOU ARE A MONSTER WRITER!!
So what else? Oh yeah I am a bit upset!! Why?? Well because the next book is not going to be released until NEXT FREAKIN YEAR!!!! I so want to get my hands on the next on as this book had a throw-you-off-your-seat type of cliffhanger!! Annoying isn't it?
Anyhooo... I love love loved this! I think more than the first one!! :)
Love. Family. Betrayal. Magic. Mayhem
These are the things that make up THE IRON TRAITOR

Oh and I have a playlist for this book:
Ryan to Beth: Kiss Me Slowly by Parachute Isaiah to Beth: What I know by Parachute For Beth: Broken Angel by Boyce Avenue Beth to Ryan: Who Knew by Pink or Terrified by Katharine McPhee
This book wasn't perfect. There were stuff here and there that made me want to throw the book out the window but I stuck with it and is totally happy that I did.
Beth Risk lives a life not everyone would be able to handle.
At 17, she's been through a lot and those things made her tough. It made her strong. She knew she had to be strong to protect her mother. But something happened and she got sent off to live with her uncle who used to be her favorite person in the world that is until he left her when he promised not to.
Everyone thinks Ryan Stone was perfect. He was good-looking and hot. He was a great pitcher. He had the perfect family. He was popular. He wasn't on the top of the class but he was smart.
But if you ask him.. He'll say...
Everyone thinks his life was perfect but what they didn't know was what was happening behind closed doors. Ryan was tired of pretending.
Because of a dare, Beth and Ryan's paths crossed. Because of a dare, their lives took a 360 degree turn. But was it for the good or the bad?
This would have to be my first book by Katie McGarry and I am totally hooked. Honestly, I had no intention of reading this series at all even though I've read a lot of good reviews about it. I wasn't really sure why but Allen Grace's(thanks girl!! *high five*) review made me change my mind. I was so intrigued by the guy she called Taco Bell boy.
I think the characters are all awesome. I liked the main ones and the secondary ones. Let me start with.
Beth was one of those characters you'll hate but love at the same time. She was b*tchy most of the time. She had a dirty mouth. She drinks. She parties too much. She smokes weed. Eventhough she was pretty, she wasn't the type of girl you'd want to take home to meet your parents.
As you read through the book though, you'll understand why she has to be that way. You'll eventually see what her struggles are and why she has trust issues. She was the type of girl who looks tough on the outside but a real softie in the inside. What she went through in life is definitely not easy. She had to experience the harsh reality of life at a young age. She felt being unwanted by the people who should be taking care of her and not the other way around.
I kind of didn't like her at first but then who could blame her for all her insecurities and uncertainty with herself. No one was there to tell her that she was beautiful and buy her pretty dresses and give her ribbons (that she loves so much) when she was younger. Her good for nothing mother was useless. Her father was a good for nothing sperm donor who doesn't give a f*ck which was why he ran away. She has good friends though and I think they are the ones that kept her sane. That kept her moving forward. And then.. Ryan came. ^__^
Ryan aka Taco Bell boy
*note: i didn't intentionally picked this guy because he was shirtless. LOL*
Taco Bell boy was the reason I read this book and I was so not disappointed. I absolutely love him. He was far from the cliche-ish bad-boy-turned-good-boy male lead in most YA books. Actually, he was the good boy and he really owned up to it.
At first, I really thought he was perfect but he wasn't. He was far from perfect. He was dependent with his brother but he went away and left him which actually broke him. He felt alone with his parents who were too busy pretending that everything was perfect when it was not. He felt dependent on them too as to what he thinks he wants to do with his life. His father controlled him and he didn't even notice it.
What I loved most about Ryan was how serious he was when it comes to relationship. He was a real sweetheart.
(view spoiler)["Because I love you. Beth - you're everything I want to be. You're alive and live without apology. I never would have made love to you if I thought you didn't trust me... or love me. And I never would have done it if I didn't trust and love you.(hide spoiler)]
Everything with Beth started as a dare but he then called it off when he started falling for her and he wasn't scared to admit that to his friends, his schoolmates and his family *at least towards the end*.
Oh did I forget to mention that Ryan is one hell of a writer?! That even makes him more sexier. A writer with a sexy six pack abs. *I absolutely love it!*
*note: sorry about that. another shirtless guy here. LOL*
Isaiah. Well, I liked him really. He did nothing but do what is best for Beth but... I really think there was not enough chemistry with them as it is with Beth and Ryan. I haven't read the first book so I had no idea if they looked sweeter there or if Beth was different with Isaiah there but I really just thought of him as Beth's friend.. nothing more.
Sorry guys. I know a lot of you would have and have loved Isaiah but I don't like him for Beth. He doesn't bring out the best in her like Ryan can. But I do agree that he is a good friend. What I wouldn't give to have a friend like him. Sexy. Dependent. HOT. Cool. And a lot more. :)
I'm just so happy to hear that the next book will be about him. He does deserve a happy ending too!
I liked Noah and Echo. Although I haven't really read their story, I kind of like how supportive they are of Beth. Especially Noah.
Gwen. I hated her. She thinks she could make everything go how she wants to because she's pretty and popular. Unfortunately, that is so not true.
Uncle Scott. I liked him. He admitted he was wrong when he left and wanted to make it up to Beth. He was very admirable.
Ryan's parents. Meeh. They are crazy perfectionist it's absolutely insane.
Mark. I liked him. He wasn't afraid to go after who he really is. He didn't let his parents tell him what he is
RYAN + BETH = SWEET AND SEXY
This was the type of book that doesn't need to be smutty to be sexy.
Ryan and Beth's relationship was not insta-love. Thank goodness. They were attracted to each other physically yes but that doesn't mean they liked each other. In fact, they hated each other's guts and that is what makes their relationship work for me I guess. They got to know each other more before they fell for each other.
Makes me all dreamy about it really. LOL
I wish I had my own Ryan that would sweep me off my feet and write me poems or stories or whatever. :D
Anyways, there were scenes where they showed how much they liked and wanted to be close to each other but nothing more than that and that's kind of refreshing. I liked that.
I liked this one and will remember Ryan and Beth for a long time. It's one of those stories that will stick to your brain and will remember and smile because it was good.
I liked Beth and Ryan's love story but what I really liked the most was the way it shows how life is never as it seems. Some things you can just see above the surface. Not everything is what it seems. Like with the case of Ryan's family. You think they have everything but they don't. Inside their house, someone was gay, someone was angry, someone was disappointed and someone felt completely alone. But if you look at their perfect family facade, you never would know, unless of course, they tell you or you are a nosy next door neighbor who likes to snoop on other people's lives. Haha.
Beth's case was different. Everyone knows what she is going through but not a lot of people were willing to help. The person she was trying to save doesn't really want to be saved and that is sh*tty. She was endangering her life for someone who doesn't give a f*ck.
Books are really a good thing. It takes you to the mind of another person and see things the way they see. It's an eye opener. And Dare You To is not just a typical YA contemporary romance with a feisty heroine and a swoon-worthy hero but it was also about life and its troubles and how they overcame it.
