I had so much fun reading this book! It was hilarious, sweet and cute. There were a couple of times that I found myself awwwing and sighing and giggling as I was reading this book. There was so much chemistry between Hayden and Nick. They were scorching hot without even trying.
Hayden and Nick used to be a thing back in seventh grade. That was until Hayden found out that it was all just a bet. Four years after their friends started going out with each other leaving Hayden and Nick both single among their friends. Hayden was a snowboarding enthusiast and is aspiring to go pro someday. Nick was not impressed however which caused Hayden to challenge him on a snowboarding contest. Their friends took side of course. It was girls versus boys. Would Hayden be able to prove to Nick that she could do it? Or will Nick be able to prove to Hayden what she really means to him?
Gosh this book was cute! I loved everything about this book. Let me rephrase that. I loved everything about this book except the cover. I wasn’t exactly a fan of that but what the heck! The story was just ooohhh ssoooo cute and hilarious.
I liked this book because I was simple. It doesn’t have a complex plot but it still keep you hooked to its pages because how the author developed the character and their relationship with each other.
What I found really funny was how Nick despite of his natural charisma towards girls was not able to really confess to Hayden how he feels. It was like he never outgrew 7th grade. Some boys really do have a weird way of expressing their interest towards someone they like. Nick was a very good example. He made Hayden feel that he doesn’t like her when in fact he does for the longest time. I mean OMGosh! What the hell! But yeah the whole up and down of their love-hate relationship was very entertaining to read. It was silly but really amusing. Sometimes I just find myself smiling about how ridiculous Nick and Hayden has been because both of them really doesn’t know to express each other too well and when they try to they old end up fighting. They were a weird couple but seriously cute!
I liked their friends too. Chloe, Liz, Gavin and Davis were equally as our weird couple Hayden and Nick. They were fun to read too. They were as multi-faceted as the two main characters.
Once in a while I just want to read a feel good book like this one. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a light and amusing book that would keep you company if you’re just out in your backyard or sunbathing on the beach. This is my first Jennifer Echols books and will definitely be reading more. I already have Going too Far on the to-be read pile so I will need to get to that soon!
I am giving this book a perfect 5 stars! Despite my not liking the cover, the contents wholly compensated for it. (less)

Anna was sent to a boarding school in Paris catering to Americans students. At first she didn’t know how she would fit in but because of Meredith everything seemed to go well until she met Etienne St. Clair.
When she was in Paris her relationship with her best friend got messed up because of a certain somebody but what frustrated her more is her relationship with St. Clair. She knew he has a girlfriend but she couldn’t help falling for him either way. I am a sucker for happy endings so I am HAPPY to tell you guys that this book has a happy ending! YEY!
St. Clair was the gorgeous popular guy that everyone likes. You might say its kind of a cliché but its not. St. Clair unlike other guys in YA romance stories wasn’t perfect which was cute. He was afraid of heights, he was scared of change and he was not TALL! Most guys in books were tall and handsome and fearless but he wasn’t which I really liked plus he has that beautiful English accent. I mean who the hell says “ass” in such a beautiful way? Ahahaha. “You are an arse!” :)
Now there’s Anna. I don’t actually know how it feels like to be away from your family because I never experienced it so I sympathized with her situation. I just didn’t like her blowing up on her best friend like that. People make mistakes and she shouldn’t have reacted that way towards Bridget. I didn’t blame her for falling in love with St. Clair but I just don’t think it was fair that she blamed Bridget for everything. It wasn’t Bridge’s fault just like it wasn’t her fault falling for St. Clair. It just happened. But all in all I like Anna and her addiction to old movies, her outgoingness, her love for her family (even though she doesn’t really like her father).
The most prominent cliché that I noticed in this book was Amanda. There was always going to be a stupid stuck-up b*tch somewhere in a book. Hahaha. She was like one of those mean girls whose face you want to shove down the toilet. I know it was mean but bear with me. Also there was that Dave person who I thought was good news but turned out to be BAD! I wanted to kick his “arse!”.
The friends were great. I loved the way things turned out with Rashimi and Josh at least they still remained friends. I liked Meredith too because she didn’t hold any grudges towards Anna. At first yes but then again she gotten over it and I really liked her for that. She has been a good friend from start to finish.
The story was great and so was the setting. I love PARIS! It is definitely one of the places I would visit once in my lifetime.
I would give this book an perfect 5 for the great characters, great setting and great story.
Favorite Quote: But the most notable aspect of my new education is the one that takes place outside of class. The one never mentioned in the glossy brochures. And that is this: attending boarding school is like living inside a high school. I can’t get away.

This would have to be the second book I read that dealt with premarital sex and the first that dealt with teenage pregnancy.
Sophie Ramsay was starting her senior year with a secret. Sophie was a strong Christian girl who had a purity pledge that she had to break because of Dylan Morris. Dylan told her that he loves her and Sophie believed him. Now she finds out that she was pregnant and is left with a very big decision to make. What will she do? Who will she turn too? Will she continue with the pregnancy or have the baby aborted?
Anything but Normal is a book after my own heart. Teenage pregnancy is hard. It becomes even harder when you feel that you cannot share what you are going through with anyone.
Sophie was a very realistic character for me. I was actually pretty surprised how close Ms. Carlson was in showing us how a teenager will handle this type of situation. I know because I was in that same situation when I was 19 too. I fell in love and thought that he does too. I get pregnant he left me with a baby in my stomach and a pretty hard decision whether to get the baby aborted, give the baby up for adoption or keep the baby. I had the same struggles as Sophie did. It may not be the same for everybody but for me it was so damn close.
This book is not just about teenage pregnancy but there was also a part of the book that dealt with religion. I honestly love the author’s take on how even Christians make mistakes. Sometimes Christians could be closed minded and judgmental. This book teaches us to forgive despite how bad someone has wronged us. It also shows how important other people’s love and acceptance would mean to someone who is going through a hard time. Despite the mistake and wrongdoings we must accept and forgive one another because that is something God would want us to do.
The characters that the author made are pretty realistic. I liked Sophie, Wes and Pastor Vincent. They were my favorite characters in this book. I liked Sophie because she was strong and despite all the wrong things that happened to her she still had faith in God. I admire her for that. I may have not agreed with her decision but that doesn’t make it wrong. Wes was one of those guys that I’d love to have. Seriously, how often would a guy be willing to be called a baby’s daddy even if he’s not? Not much right? But Wes was okay with that. He was the support that Sophie needed along with her parents. Pastor Vincent was fair and he understood what happened to Sophie and didn’t judge her based on that one mistake.
I seriously loved this book! It teaches you a lesson without being preachy.

Once again Ms. Clare you have amazed me with your creativity and writing skills. The Infernal Devices maybe related to The Mortal Instruments but with an entirely new story line. It’s more of a prequel actually. And I would have to admit the story was much more intriguing and exciting that TMI.
Tessa Gray went to London for her brother Nathaniel. She received a letter from him saying that she should come to London and live with him since their Aunt just died. Once in London she was abducted by the Dark Sisters of the Pandemonium Club. Tessa doesn’t know why she has been taken or where her brother had been held captive. Just when Tessa was being prepped to be handed over to the Magister she was rescued by the Shadowhunter William Herondale (Herondale? Now where have I heard that before?).
I mean WOW! I am truly speechless. Ms. Clare simply made another masterpiece. I loved The Mortal Instruments but I didn’t know it could even get better with The Infernal Devices.
Where do I start?
Let’s start with Tessa Gray. I like Tessa more than I liked Clary. Tessa was more mature than Clary in every way. She wanted to find her brother but made sure she thinks first before she acts unlike Clary who based her decision on impulse regardless of other people who might get in trouble (remember City of Glass?). Tessa was smart and I admire her for that. She uses her head like with her encounter with the Magister. I really loved that part. She was all the things Clary was not so I really liked her.
Then there is William Herondale. Will as he likes to be called. Unlike Tessa who was nothing like Clary, Will however reminded me of Jace. Attitude problem must run in the family. LOL. To tell you guys honestly, I don’t like Will. I don’t like him at all. At first he was okay but then as the book progresses I was beginning to hate him so much I wanted to kill him myself. CURSE YOU WILL HERONDALE! No one deserved what he did to Tessa in the attic. Not everyone could be as understanding as Jem. I know I said earlier that he reminded me of Jace. They were similar in a way like their arrogance and mood swings only Jace’s were tolerable but Will’s? Will was just downright cruel. Tsk tsk. You are an ASS Mr. Herondale.
James Carstairs. JEM! MY JEM! OMG! I love him. He was the sensitive one. He was more appealing to me than Will. I do not usually go for the good guys in books but then for him I’ll make an exception. I know that Tessa would most likely end up with Will but I think Jem was a hell lot of a better choice. Silvery hair and eyes. Loves music. Sensitive. A perfect gentleman. What more could you as for? I am just a little sad about his condition. He was very fragile but I don’t care. I just hope there is a cure for what he has because if he dies I’d be devastated. MS CLARE YOU CANNOT LET JEM DIE! I tell you lot of your fans would die… Really. Hehehe.
The other characters were very much alive as the main ones. Charlotte Branwell was a woman tasked to do a man’s job. She is the head of the London Institute where Tessa took shelter after the encounter at the Dark Sister’s place. She dedicated her whole life to the job that probably why she doesn’t have kids of her own yet. I think she’s what 23 or something? Her husband Henry on the other hand was very... well… Interesting would be the right word. I wouldn’t say he was a mad scientist because he is not. He just loves to invent things and work on stuff. If I am not mistaken the Sensor that Jace and the other Shadowhunters use in TMI was his invention.
Jessamine Lovelace, sometimes I want to strangle you for being such a pain. I think the reason why she is who she is was because she didn’t want to be where she was. She didn’t want to be a Shadowhunter. She wanted to live a normal life just like her parents would have wanted from her. Sometimes I pity her but most of the time I just want to pull her hair and say “OH SHUT UP ALREADY!”
The Clockwork Angel was magical. I haven’t been to London nor do I know much about what the Victorian Era was like but this book took me there. That’s why I love reading books. It always takes me to places I have never been before. The concept of the automatons being an army to me was unique. I haven’t read a lot of steampunk novels but still I love the whole concept of this series. It was also good to know how things were before Clary and Jace and everyone else in The Mortal Instruments. I love how Magnus Bane made an appearance here though I was a little surprise with his relationship with Camille.
My only issue with this book is the ending!!!! I mean WTF!!!! It was a damn cliffhanger!!!! I want to get my hands on the Clockwork Prince now!!!
I have to rate this as a PERFECT 5 or 10 if that’s even possible. Why? Because it was amazing. It was like the Harry Potter fever for me all over again. (less)

Finally finished this book. To tell you honestly, I don't really know what to say. This book really left me breathless. Blissed out. I loved everything about this book. Every little bit of it. It wasn't like Twilight at all. It was much more exciting!
Clary. Jace. Simon. Alec. Isabelle. Magnus Bane. Luke. Everybody has their own personality that I love. Ms. Clare's characters were all unique in their own way which made this series really interesting and fun. It was not boring, lifeless and flat.
Of course I love all the main characters of the book! I mean what's not to love about them? Usually I don't have any comments for the antagonist. I just hate them period. I wouldn't say the say the same for City of Glass though. This book was totally mescmerizing,
Valentine and Sebastian. I so love to hate Sebastian. I think he freaking deserve what happened to him thought I am not really sure if he is still alive. His body was missing. I haven't read city of fallen angels so I am not really sure if he is dead or not. I guess I'll find out when I read it next. :)
One other thing I loved in this book is Magnus and Alec. God that scene was classic! Alec kissing Magnus in front of everyone! AMAZING! Kudos to you Alec. I'm so proud of him. He finally came out of the closet.
Simon. Simon. Simon. Well I was impressed. What else could I say? Aline! You B*tch! ahahahhaaaaaa.. Isabelle. As always I love your style. I envy you.
I am a sucker for a happy ending and the ending of this book was really good! Not really really good buy AMAZING! Jace and Clary could finally be together! Yepeeee.. I was just a little pissed that it took them three books to discover that they werent really brothers and sisters. LOL. Took them some time. I was ready to rip my hairs out because it was taking them sooooo looonngggg to be together. Jace and Clary definitely overshadowed my love for Edward and Bella. I used to be such a TWILIGHT fanatic. Lets face it, this series is way more addicting and exhilarating than my previous favorite (twilight). I mean I still love it but then my heart made a complete 180 degrees when I read this book. I am a convert. :)
Five thumbs up for this series. I loved it from the bottom of my YABOOK LOVING HEART! These are the type of books that make YA BOOKS ROCK!(less)

"How can something so wrong feel so right?"
Those were the words of Lochan Whitely one of the main characters of this book. It is also the best way to describe how I feel about this book. It was wrong but somehow it was right.
Sexual activity between two people who are considered, for moral or genetic reasons, too closely related to have such a relationship. Incest is regarded as a serious taboo in almost every society, although cultures differ as to the extent to which marriages are allowed between relatives.
Incest was something that has never been accepted by our society. It maybe acceptable for some but in the society that Lochan and Maya were in, it was not.
Lochan and Maya were the two elder siblings in the Whitely household. They had to tend to their three other siblings because their Dad left them while their Mum was an alcoholic who spends most of the time drunk with her boyfriend, Dave. They were forced to be stand-in parents for their younger siblings as her mother was hardly reliable.
Hardships brought them closer together not just in ways that brothers and sisters were supposed to be.
They fell in love...
With each other…
I didn’t know what to expect when I picked up this book. My heart is still aching. Lochan and Maya's story was painfully beautiful. I was sobbing the whole time as I was reading the later part of the book. Why? Because their story was not entirely fiction. These things happen. Believe it or not, it does. Incest is a very sensitive topic. A taboo to some. This book was about that. The thought of loving your sibling in any other way than what was normal was considered revolting to others. I do not blame them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. On normal instances that this may happen, I may think of it the same way. Repulsive. Abnormal. Horrible. But Lochan and Maya's case was different. I agree that what they did was wrong but somehow it felt right to me. I know. I know. You may think I am crazy for even thinking that but when you read this book you'll understand why I said it. Sympathy was what I felt after reading this book. Life is never easy. It is never fair. In life, we need people around us to support us in times of difficulty. Their mother was supposed to be their shelter. She was the person they were supposed to draw strength from. But that was not the case. Their mother was absent most of the time which leaves them relying on each other to take the responsibility of taking care of their younger siblings. They depended on each other the way a husband and a wife does when dealing with their family issues. It was never their fault that they fell in love with each other. Fate sometimes plays a cruel joke on all of us. This story depicted the harsh reality of life. Not everybody's family is perfect. Under the happy smiles that they may show other people, there were cracks that hide underneath them. Unless you really take the time to look what is beneath you will never know. Lochan and Maya were good students. Responsible. Loving. Obedient. They were not the type of kids you'd see involved in drugs and alcoholism. But why did they do it? I could only assume. Their situation pushed them together. They felt they were the only ones who could understand each other. They were soul mates but were destined not to be together. Not all soul mates end up with each other. I wanted this story to have a happy ending but this doesn’t have one. Still, I wouldn’t want to change it.
Forbidden was told in an alternating point of view between Lochan and Maya. It was a great touch. It made the story even more dramatic and heartfelt. Knowing how both of them were feeling about what was happening around them made them more real and concrete.
If I could give this book a hundred stars I would. :D (less)

Meghan was able to successfully return her brother home. Prince Ash kept his side of the bargain and now it was her turn to return the favor.
The book started with Meghan dreaming about Machina and then waking up in one of the rooms in the Winter Court. She knew she had to go with Ash to the Unseelie Court because of their bargain but her other reason for coming was because of Ash himself. She was expecting at least a bit of support from him but instead she was getting the coldest treatment ever from him. She thought that she meant more to Ash but she was wrong. He abandoned her.
Meghan’s stay at the Winter Court was not pleasant but not unpleasant either. Everything changed when one of the Queen’s sons got murdered by one of the Iron fey who stole the Scepter.
Meghan now on the run with the help of Ash journey to seek for the stolen scepter to restore peace between the Summer and the Winter Court. There were trouble along the way but that didn’t stop them from their goal because something bigger was happening and they were right in the middle of it.
I liked the Iron King but the Iron daughter was even better! Everything about this series drew me in. There was truly magic within the pages of the book.
I loved Meghan even better in this book. I got a little irritated with her because of her little escapade with Puck. I love Puck and I don’t like it when he gets hurt. She felt a little Bella-like to me which I didn’t like at ALL! But even if I didn’t like that part it still won’t stop me from giving this book a perfect 5!
Ash. *Sigh* What could I say? I am madly in love with him. Shucks. In the Iron King I was so sure that I liked Puck but everything changed in an instant when Ash started to shed off the ice that was engulfing his heart. I understood him better. I loved his sincerity and bravery. What more could you ask for?
Puck. I love you and all but please don’t hurt yourself. You are a great guy and you deserve to be more than just the other guy.
This series was like a drug to me. It made me want for more. I have read one book after the other. I am halfway through The Iron Queen and after I would read Summer’s crossing and lastly my copy of the Iron Knight. Save the best for last as they say.
I really couldn’t find anything big to complain about. If there were some misses I obviously was not able to detect them since I was so engrossed with reading and knowing what would happen next.

I was in love, and the feeling was even more wonderful than I ever imagined it could be.”
Love changes everyone. It changes the way you think, the way you look at things, the way you do something. It changes you in ways that you couldn’t do on your own. It changes you entirely. Love is mysterious. Love is complex. It works in ways we would not be able to understand or comprehend. There are no words to explain it. So when Langdon Carter fell in love, he found no words to clearly express how he felt for Jaime Sullivan.
Langdon and Jaime were two different people destined by fate to be together maybe not forever but they were destined to be in each others lives and change one another. Their story was beautiful. It was simple. Not unique. No supernatural thing. There was nothing spectacular about this book. But you get to feel pure emotions coming out of its pages. You feel Jaime’s faith and Langdon’s love.
A great book is not the one with difficult words and complicated stuff. For me, a great book doesn’t need to have profound words or lengthy sentences. A great book is the one that touches your soul despite not having intricacy. It touches your life and makes you realize things that you may have overlooked. A Walk to Remember is one of those books. Simply written. Not too long but full of meaning and emotion.
I actually watched the movie first before I had the chance to read the book. The movie was an instant favorite. It made me cry. A lot. I watched it at least 10 times. No Joke! Shane West and Mandy Moore really made it believable. I wouldn’t have chosen any other actors for Jaime and Langdon’s part. Every time some one asked me my favorite movie, it would always be A Walk to Remember. After reading the book, I just made fell in love with A Walk to Remember more. It made me realize also how short life is and the importance of faith. It made me envious though. Langdon and Jaime’s love was something rare. It was something that I hope someday I would have too. I think everyone wants this kind of love. The one that’s gentle and kind. Not jealous. Not boastful. Not conceited. After reading this book was when I truly understood what Corinthians 13 meant.
I love this book and I would love it forever. I also love the movie by the way. I don’t care what other people say.
“Knowing there's one thing I still haven't told you: I now believe, by the way, that miracles can happen.”

What if you found out that he was real but existed in a different time? What would you do to be with that person? What would you give to be with that person forever?
Michele Winsor had a recurring dream. She had been having the same dream about a handsome blue-eyed man in a mirror and a skeleton key. She feels that she knows the person in the mirror but she couldn’t tell who it was, where they met or how she knew him. As for the key, she doesn’t recognize it at all. But she was curious as to why she kept on getting the same dream but that wasn’t going to be answered until later in the book.
Michele lived a simple life with her mother. She never knew who her father was because he left them when she was young and never returned. Still she was happy and contented even if they weren’t living the lifestyle of the rich and famous.
Her life crumbled after the death of her mother Marion. She didn’t know how to move on because she was the only family she ever had.
Now that her mother passed away her legal appointed guardians now were her grandparents who lived in New York. She was told that she had to leave her friends in California and move to New York to live with the Winsors.
The Windsors were filthy rich. They were considered as one of the richest family in New York. Michele didn’t know how rich they really were until she arrived at the Winsor mansion which was too ostentatious for her taste. She preferred to be with her mother in their bungalow in California but she knew that wasn’t going to happen anymore.
The Winsor mansion was not only huge and extravagant but it also holds her family’s history. At her room in the mansion, she found out that most of the Windsor girls actually stayed in her room even her mother. She was exploring her room when she came across a locked drawer. She didn’t have the key but she had an idea.
Rummaging through her mother’s stuff she found a key. The same skeleton key she had seen in her dreams. She tried to use the key to open the locked drawer which miraculously opened the drawer.
Inside the drawer was a diary. As she flipped through the first entry she was unexpectedly sucked inside the diary where she landed in her own bedroom back in 1901.
As she goes back in time, she learns about her family and most of all she learns about who the man in the mirror is.
After reading “The Time Traveler’s Wife” I haven’t read any other books related to time travel. I loved the Time Traveler’s wife but reading it got me confused with all the jumping of time and stuff. With Timeless it was different; the flow of the book was fluid and continuous. It was not confusing since it was happening continuously. This book was narrated in the third person which I thought was great. Everything that was happening to Michele in the past and in the future was simultaneous so it won’t confuse you unlike in Time Traveler’s wife.
The story started off with a dream which I really liked.
Michele Windsor was down to earth and very simple. I liked that. She was raised well by her mother because even if she knew that she belonged to a rich family that didn’t get to her. She was a very likeable character. She falls in love with Philip. She continues to travel back in time not only to be with him but also to help the Windsor girls with their issues. She learned that what she does in the past definitely affects the future so she made every action and moment count.
Philip Walker was the man in the mirror. He was the blue eyed guy that Michele has been dreaming of. He fell in love with Michele even though he knew that she was from the future. He was a musician which drew me to him. He was everything that a perfect gentleman should be. (You would see why I said so). He kept his promise and that made me so happy by the end of the book I was still crying. I thought he wouldn’t be able to do it but he did! :)
Marion Windsor was a cool mom. She kind of reminds me of myself. I am a single mom and I know how hard it is to raise a child all on your own. She did a pretty good job in raising Michele. She didn’t go back to her parents after Henry left. She continued to live the life she chose even if the love of her life left her alone leaving her with a key and their daughter.
Dorothy and Walter Windsor were Michele’s grandparents. I think they were definitely keeping something from Michele regarding her father. Michele somehow has a clue because of what happened when she was in the past but still I think there was something else that they were hiding.
Caissie Walker was a good friend. I mean its not every day that you meet someone who would believe you if you say that you could travel back in time.
This book was the first in the series so you should expect that the ending was a bit of a cliffhanger but in a good way. I didn’t expect how it ended to tell you honestly.
I was in tears as I was nearing the end of the book. I thought that it was not going to have a happy ending. Boy was I so surprised! I won’t go into details on that because that part would ruin everything. The ending for me was the highlight of the book.
Love knows no boundaries. Love knows no time. Love knows no obstacles. To be with the person they love they would do anything or everything they could to be with that person. No one or nothing could ever tear two hearts apart.
I have been listening to one of Joshua Radin’s songs “When I find you” which fits Timeless.
“Oh I need you to know today I’ll wait for you always. Oh I need you to know today I’ll wait for you always. Coz when I find you I’ll find me”
This book is totally a 5! I hope the next book gets released soon. . (less)

This book had everything! It was refreshing read really. It wasn't really that hard to connect with the story as the writing is pretty awesome. When I was reading, it felt as if a friend was telling me her story. I just really loved that. You'll get hooked just by reading the first few pages. This book was very easy to love!
A job well done on this book!!
HERE'S THE GIST
Raven moved back home to spend more time with her family and also complete her MBA at Vanderbilt. Everything was planned out but what she wasn't planning on was being tackled over by a guy whom (in her head) she decided to name as Holy-Hotness, during one of her yoga sessions. Although he was hot as hell and she was totally attacted, she wasn't really that interested.
Just when Raven thought that was the end of her encounter with Mr.Holy Hotness... She was so wrong.
Raven rented a room with a house she immediately falls in love with. She has two roommates which coincidentally were... Mr. Holy Hotness' sisters.
Yep that's right. Her roommates was the same guy whom was on top of her just moments ago!! What a small world isn't it? Imagine how more awkward it was when everone knew what they called Declan. Yep. The hansome tackler has a name. It was Declan Collins.
Declan Collins was a lead vocalist for a band name Sayge. He had a great voice, handsome, a loving brother and full-pledged womanizer. He doesn't do relationships. You see him with a different girl in the backroom before and after each of their performance. But then he meets Raven... She stirs him up. It was like she's woken up something inside of him that has been sleeping for a long time and the guy who sort of sworn off being in a relationship suddenly wanted to prove to everyone (including his sisters) that he capable of staying loyal to one girl.
After spending time together, a few sleepovers and movie sessions (no sex... yet..) they've gotten close and eventually fell in love.
Happily ever after? No definitely not.
Things happened. They argued. They had differences. Someone was too jealous. Someone was too relax. Someone else was in love but doesn't want to admit it. *i guess you guys will figure who this one is easily!* A decision was made which made the other one decide too. Lots of things happened. But will Declan and Raven's love be enough to save their relationship and surpass all their trials?
I would like to thank Ahren again for the opportunity to read and review this book. It was amazing by the way!
Okay so first thoughts on this book.. I am a cover whore so I definitely fell in love with that cover! It was damn gorgeous. One complain though was I couldn't see the guy's face. Would have been nice to have some sort of glimpse on how the author picture the guy in her book right? But that's just a minor senseless rant. It doesn't really affect on how awesome the story is.
So what else? The blurb in goodreads. It was definitely what this book is all about. It stayed true to the book but... Well you'll have to read it to know why.. Something towards the end happened which completely left my mouth hanging open.
It just hit me like an unexpected hurricane. I didn't see it coming which is a good thing!
MEET THE CHARACTERS
"Um, Declan, don't you need a shirt?"
First. Let me just get this out of my chest. Her name sounds weird when you say Ravenel. I have no idea how you say that. I like her as Raven even though she doesn't have jet black hair. Black and raven? Get it? LOL. Okay no that wasn't very funny. I suck at making jokes.
Back to the Raven.
Soo. She's just amazing! What can I say? I loved her from start to finish. She's one of those characters that you will love even though they are perfect from head to foot. She was smart. She was extremely pretty. She was understanding. She was friendly. She knows how to dance. She was nice to everyone. She was perfect in literally everything and sometimes I think its unfair.
But then as you read through the book you'll see that she's not really that perfect either. Sometimes she was insenstive towards how Declan was feeling. Sometimes she makes a decision because of how bad she feels which ends up making the people around her worry. Sometimes she's wreckless. I thought I fell in love with a character that was way too perfect.. But its good to know that she's just as flawed as the other female leads that I loved and adored. She was just as imperfect and I think I like her better that way.
She's not a weak character. I think that's also why I liked her. She was the type of girl that doesn't take shit from anyone.. Including Declan, her brother, Finn and crazy psycho fans of Declan's band.
By the way just an FYI on Raven.. Her father was an ex-special forces and now handles a security stuff company and he has guys.. Sometimes her father gets too paranoid sooo.. She has hunky, overprotective body guards on her all the time. Eventually, they became her friends especially Finn but come on!! 7 hot-goodlooking-sexy guys all there to protect you from bad guys?! How lucky can you fucking get?
"One of these days, I hope you'll know about every part of my body, not just my tatoos."
Drool. *wipes drool* Drooling again. Drool pooling down on the floor.
Declan. I just love saying that name. Well what can I say with Mr. Holy Hotness? A lot!
When you read the blurb, you might get turned off because he seems to be the typical badboy who fell in love with a virgin *oopsie. yep. Raven is a virgin* and then changed blah blah bullshit but then.. He was more than that.
Aside from being sexy as hell.
"He is about 6'2 and all muscles. His chest, his arms, and back strain under his shirt. A trail of ink that resembles a tribal design snakes around his upper arm. His dark hair is cut close on the sides and longer on top. He has the greenest eyes I've ever looked into. All of a sudden, I feel my knees go weak as I stare at him."
"He's in faded jeans and a black shirt; I see he has a piercing on his lower lip and it's sexy as hell. I'm thinking about how much I want to run my tongue over his lips when he clears his throat and looks at me."
Declan was also an amazing brother and son. He loves his family so much that I want to have a family with him. LOL.
"There were only three women in my life that I loved before you. One was my mom, and the other two are my sisters. I love you in a different, deeper way and these feelings are foreign to me."
I liked Declan. A lot. He was a total alpha male! Gawwd he is so hot. And loving. And sweet. And thoughtful. And a musician. And he's hot. Oh and did I mention he was gorgeous too? Did I just forget to mention that? Oh dear. I'm totally smitten by this handsome devil!
What else? Oh well. Declan was kind of the jealous type. He was overly possessive that sometimes I think is just a tad bit out of control. But hey it works with the story I guess. And I think it was highly because he doesn't know how the relationship stuff works because if he wasn't jealous and just got the relationship thing perfect the first time then.. That is just crazy and highly unrealistic. So i liked him just the way he is. :)
Declan was a monster... in bed! If you could ask Raven, she'll probably say she had thousands of orgasms and I had a couple of bookgasms too myself. Dude! It was really hot. And that piercing!! Fucking hell! That was just... *phew* I couldn't even start. I'm not into piercings but that has got to be the hottest one ever!
I'd go on and on about Declan but that's not going to be much fun after a while sooo we'll go now to..
"Rave, I've seen you in your yoga clothes and I can guarantee you that you had nothing to be embarrassed about. Even though I can't touch, doesn't mean I can't look - and appreciate the view."
I love Finn too! He is the type of best friend that every girl should have but then.. That's going to be trouble if the guy falls in love with the girl and the girl has no fucking clue. Not saying that's the case here but... Yeah well who knows? All I could say is that I loved Finn from Chapter 1 and so on. He is very dependable and honest and cute as hell. There is a big reason why Declan is always so possessive of Raven. And one of them was Finn.
Even though Raven and Finn are ONLY friends, being that close to a guy while you have your boyfriend is indeed a bit weird. I guess as time passes by the guy will have to deal but I think Rave did a good job making it clear that Declan is who she wants and not Finn or any other guy. Still... That doesn't stop me from drooling and swooning over Finn too.
Finn, for me, is actually a main character too. He plays a big role althroughout the story and I loved that he did. I'll be looking out for you on the next book! Hope you don't screw up!! LOL.
Declan + Raven = IT'S GETTING SO HOT IN HERE!
Raven and Declan could be as cute as hell when they're talking.. They make such a cute couple.
But they could be bipolar sometimes. Not in a bad way. They are just cuddly sweet one minute and the next minute.. *BOOM* all their clothes are gone. And I would have to warn you... The steamy scenes are REALLY steamy! Oh dear! I had countless bookgasms! It was insane. There was a lot of them. Yeah there was a lot but the book didn't lose its substance because of the sexy parts which was good!
Their relationship builded up great. They were attacted to each other but they didn't just jump into a relationship because of that. I think Raven was to be given kudos for that!
There was jealously here and there majority of which was from Declan but.. Raven has her moments too. LOL. Especially with those two girls.. That was extremely funny! You go girl!
I was completely taken by this book. It drew me in and suck me into its pages! There was no doubt this would have to be one of my favorite books for this year!
Like I said, the writing was fluid, the story was just so good!
I would have to make some comments though about how long some of the scenes were. I think there are some parts that the story could do without but with it its still okay. All I'm saying was that there are some parts that could be taken out but will still come out as amazing!
There were a lot of secondary characters too! I'd like to name them all and give you guys a description but if I did.. it will take me forever. LOL. Just kidding. But there seriously were a lot and hopefully they'd get their own story because from what I have read.. They each have their own backstories too.
At first, it seems like a common story of a rocker and a good innocent girl but its not. The twists and turns come out towards the end of the story and you'll be surprised on how surprising it is. I didn't see that stupid cliffhanger coming and also that struggle they had towards the end. I wasn't expecting it at all and I loved it. It made me rate the book 5! It was because of the uncertainty of what will happen next. I always love that in a book. A book is supposed to be like a box of chocolate, you're never suppose to know what will happen next.. Unless of course, you skim through the pages and read the end!!
Anyhow.. I loved loved loved it! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves a cute and steamy romance novel that will make you smile, laugh, fall in love and... bookgasm then this is definitely for you! (less)

Just watched the movie! I know a lot of you have already watched it but heck I was still excited! BEST MOVIE ADAPTATION OF A BOOK EVER. Felt that it was as close as the movie is going to get to the book!
Well. :) So excited for the next movie. Will have to read Catching Fire soon.
------------------- Dystopian books?
Not really my thing.
Wither was the first dystopian novel I've read and it seriously gave me a headache. It wasn’t because that book was poorly written but because I was just not comfortable with the fact that young girls were getting kidnapped and sold to rich boys in order to procreate. I have no issues with teen pregnancy but then the kidnapping part and them being sold was a lot like prostitution to me. There were a couple of instances where I swore I was going to put Wither down but I didn’t because I thought it would get better. It didn’t. After that I stirred away from dystopian books until Hunger Games. Hunger Games was another dystopian novel. This book has been on my to-read pile for so long that I almost forgot about it. Sure there were good reviews about it but since it was dystopian, I had to skip it. Then I saw the movie trailer. I thought the trailer was cool but still I didn’t pick the book up. I was still hesitant about the whole dystopian thing. I was afraid that it would turn out just like the other book I read. March 2012 was nearing. The movie was going to be in the big screen soon and that's when I told myself that I had to read it now! So I picked up my copy and began reading it after I got home from work.
OMG! OMG! OMG!
Then I finished it!
I would like to give this book a round of applause! A standing ovation if it's even possible. HUNGER GAMES was AWESOME! One of the best books I have read so far. It had all the elements that make a book fascinating. Despite it being a dystopian novel, I still love it. Completely loved and adored it.
The setting of the Hunger Games was in a place called Panem.
WHERE IS PANEM?
Panem is a future nation that came from the ruins of what we all know as North America. It had twelve districts that were governed by the Capitol. Because of an upheaval that happened before against the Capitol, the Hunger Games was born. The Hunger Games would require tributes –- a boy and a girl whose ages were between 12 and 18 – and they will be chosen to represent their district on the Hunger Games.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE HUNGER GAMES?
The 24 tributes from the different districts had to face each other in the arena. They had to fight for survival. They had to outwit each other. They had to think before they act. They had to show everybody that they are the best. Why? Because only one of them will come out of the Arena.
WHAT’S THE STORY ABOUT?
The main protagonist is Katniss Everdeen who I loved almost instantly. She was a perfect example of a girl strengthened by poverty. She lived in District 12, which I think was poorest of all the districts. The time to choose the tributes came. Prim, her younger sister was chosen. Katniss loved her sister and volunteered herself in exchange for her sister. Katniss was now District 12’s tribute along with Peeta Mellark who was not really a stranger to her. The chosen tributes were then transported to the Capitol for the Hunger Games. They were prepped and introduce to everyone. Bets were on. People had their own bets to cheer on. Katniss was struggling. Katniss was scared but she couldnt let it show. She had to be strong.
Who will she trust? What will she do to survive? How will she prevent herself from getting killed?
The Games will change you.
REACTION AFTER FINISHING IT:
Flabbergasted. I think that is one word that would describe how I felt about the Hunger Games. It was full of action, suspense, drama, romance. What more could you ask for?
Katniss was the perfect heroine. She is my type of lead female character. She had this courage in her that lights up like fire. Katniss, the Girl on Fire. I adore her. She wasn’t weak like most of the lead characters in YA books. She was strong, brave and courageous. She was also smart. She uses her head. I hate depended lead characters and Katniss was not one of them.
While I can go on and on regarding my crush on Katniss, her male counterpart actually caught me too. Peeta Mellark, the baker boy who burned bread to give to his childhood crush. How sweet! Peeta was not as skilled as Katniss but he does everything to protect her nonetheless. Peeta. Peeta. Peeta. I hope you’re mine. You are a paradigm of a perfect boyfriend.
Katniss and Peeta had perfect chemistry. You will always come across a book where the characters blend together perfectly. Katniss and Peeta were one of them. They were a smokin’ couple. (They were literally a smoking couple during the introduction of the tributes right? :D) Anyways, Peeta and Katniss were made to be together. I did have Katniss for hurting Peeta! Arrrg,
I was told that the concept of the Hunger Games was not entirely original. I heard that somehow it was a bit similar to the Lord of Flies but I haven’t read that so I couldn’t say if it is true nor not but still I fell in love with the book either way. It was a mixture of everything I wanted and not knowing I wanted in one book. Not only did it have the action, romance, exceptional writing style that I wanted, I also felt there was a deeper meaning to the book that was hidden between the lines.
The society that Katniss belonged to was very similar to the one that we have now. The status quo remained. District 12 symbolizes the underprivileged ones. It symbolizes the oppressed ones who didn’t have enough food to feed their families. It symbolizes the ones who had to take desperate measures to survive. The Capitol represents the rich people. They control the least fortunate ones with their money. They think they’re superior. I am not stereotyping. Not all rich people are bad while not all poor people are good either. It’s just a thought anyways. Don’t burn me at stake because I said that about the rich people. I know a lot of rich people who were more humble than me. I am not rich to make things clear. Hahaha. I’m part of District 12. Enough of that already. I didn’t know what came over me.
THE HUNGER GAMES easily became my favorite. I’ve learned my lesson not to judge a book by its GENRE. If you are looking for an interesting read with a twist then I recommend this book. THE HUNGER GAMES did not disappoint. If this book could talk, I’m sure it will slap me in the face and say “Take that you b*tch for thinking that I am not worth your time reading!” Hahaha. I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE HUNGER GAMES! I can’t wait for the movie.
A PERFECT 5!
PS: The movie is coming out next year. I thought the girl who played Katniss seemed to fit the part. I am just not too sure about the guy who played Peeta. I had a different Peeta in mind. Maybe Chace Crawford or Alex Pettyfer? Not expecting him. I thought Peeta was supposed to be blond anyways?!

What if the person you love the most dies? Of course you’d feel devastated, distraught and depressed. But what if he comes back? Would you be happy that he kept his promise to be with you forever, even as a ghost?
Ava’s boyfriend Jackson died because of a dare and she blames herself for it. Driven by guilt she shuts everyone out of her life. She thought she lost him forever. But then Jackson came back. When she looked at the mirror, the saw a glimpse of Jackson behind her and she knew, Jackson hadn’t left her at all.
Honestly, I thought this book was so cool. The story was told in poems. Instead of chapters you get short poems about everything that has happened between Ava and Jackson and the life Ava had after Jackson died. One good thing about this book was that all the characters had this share on the spotlight. It was not all about Ava and Jackson but you get a glimpse of their friends too.
I absolutely L.O.V.E Ava! Why? Because she was a good girlfriend and a good friend. She grieved because she lost her boyfriend which was normal. She was sad but still she doesn’t want her parents and her parents to worry much about her so she shows them a strong face. She knew she had the chance to be with someone else but she had to give it up because she loves her friend and as a respect to Jackson too. I liked her because she was not all whiny and stuff like that. I like it because she was true to herself.
I also loved Jackson. At first I thought he had become some sort of a poltergeist but I was so wrong. Turns out he had some unfinished business too. Not going to tell you what it is though, you have to find that out for yourselves.
Ava’s friends were cool. They were supportive and so were her parents. She had the right amount of support to get her going. She also had the right amount of rejection from Jackson’s mom, since I think that she too blame Ava for Jackson’s death.
Anyways, I thought this book was cool, fresh and fun. Written in short poems made it a more entertaining read. It was very simple but heartfelt. Despite the book’s shortness, the right amount of emotions was there to keep the readers begging for more.

I am really a sucker for love stories like this one and this one made easily made it to my top reads! It was amazing. :)
I didn't read If I Stay so I don't really know Mia's side of the story but still reading this book actually said it all. You don't have to necessarily read the first book to understand what went on between Adam and Mia. This book is simply written but full of emotion.
I feel for Adam. I know Mia lost a lot too but my sympathy was still for Adam. Reading this book actually made me feel exactly how Adam was feeling. His pain, his misery, his loneliness.
This book is a must read. No wonder a lot of people gave this book 5 stars. It is a masterpiece. I loved every minute of it. I read it in 2 days. I could have read it in 1 day but then I had to work so it took me another day. When I paused at around half of the book, it really made me wonder why Mia left. It was in my head all day! OMG! I couldn't wait to get home and finish the book. It was torture to have to wait to finish and find out why Mia left Adam.
