I started and finished this book in 1 day. Even with being sick and drugged up I couldn’t put it down. Private North begins with August (Auggie) Stonefield getting ready for her Christmas vacation with her family. She is excited to have a “normal” holiday. Unfortunately, her mother has other plans and August finds herself signing up for an internship with her favorite professor, professor North.
The last thing on Auggie’s mind is starting a new relationship but things change.
Private North (Dalton) comes into the story at the very beginning yet we don’t know it yet. He is a town hero but he is full of pain emotionally, mentally and physically. He also holds a lot of regret and anger. He beats himself up for the events that took place while at war.
The chemistry between Auggie and Dalton was sizzling! She can’t help but feel a pull to him. She shows him kindness. She shows him that he is NOT broken but whole and beautiful. Dalton on the other hand is extremely attracted to Auggie and he had no problem saying what is on his mind however, he is afraid to get close should she decide to leave him he would fall back into the void.
It’s a touching story. Dalton’s character was to me realistic from the nightmares to the injury to the fear of being alone. There’s scheming going on behind the scenes with Ethan (youngest son) and the professor however, for me that wasn’t even a factor in this book.
Oh and the sex scenes…. “Tell me what to do.” I kissed his neck. “I want you to forget the pain, all of it,” I whispered. I pushed his long hair behind his ear. “I want you to feel only me, touching you, kissing you.” Oliver wrote them well! They did not overpower the story.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a quick yet satisfying read.
OHHH EMMM GEEE I have been dying to share my review of this book! WOW it was just so damn good.
Two strangers going through the motions of life but not really living. Cassandra’s parents who love her in an odd manner have bread her for nothing less than perfection. Jason had lived a hard life. He is young and selfless but sees pity in the eyes of those who surround him. Two complete opposites going through similar yet different situations, come together and an amazing love story blooms!
“The term ‘away’ comes in many forms and phrases. Get away, stay away, far away, go away, went away and move away but the term that best fits my situation…run away.”
We start off with Cassandra (Cassie) racing to meet up with her best friend Mel; hoping that she can help her find a resolution to a mistake she made. She’s lived a hard life, not because of money but because of her parents who are extremely hard on her and its been an emotional toll on her. On the drive she gets into a really bad car accident then fate steps in, in the form of a humbled good looking man named Jason. Talk about swoon! Jason (Jase) steps in to care for this woman he doesn’t know and when he looks into her eyes all he wants to do is protect her. With Cassie’s car a wreck and no where to go; Jason steps up and offers her shelter his home.
In a short period of time Cassie and Jase find a connection they can’t seem to ignore. They find themselves eager for the next day even going through personal battles.
“People become too reliant on having the world at their fingertips. Enjoying the moment and not knowing what’s going to come next, that’s the real deal, Cassie”
These battles or secrets they have are ones they are not ready to share. And when the circumstances of these secrets were shown to me I was like holly hell!!! I felt like I got slapped. Talk about a turn of events.
So many emotions…sadness, hope, longing, anger, fear, love and grief. All this wrapped up in a bundle of words that left me wanting MORE! B.A Wolfe has some major talent. I felt everything and I may have even teared up a bit! <- – this doesn’t happen!!!!
This story was basically about self discovery. Learning who you are, what you want in life, who you can trust and overall how to open your heart and love with everything you’ve got. The ending was extremely sad but leaves room for that HOPE I mentioned earlier.
I bet you’re wondering “WTH is she talking about? What type of review is this?” Well if you follow my blog you know I will not give you more than I’ve already said. Did I give the book the justice it deserved probably not but I hope I intreguied you enough to make you want to purchase this baby!
B.A. Wolfe, I would like to congratulate you on an amazing job on your debut novel. I will definitely be stalking you! ;)
” It was about us, two strangers finding friendship and love in a crazy situation, and in the end, what I ended up with was our story.”(less)

I really enjoyed reading VIP. Life and relationships are not always peachy; we are all only human and make mistakes. If you believe yourself to be perfect then more power to you but the reality is, that’s just not true.
It really is hard to express my feelings about this book because it’s 2 different stories that collide and form one. And when I say collide I mean shit hits the fan.
VIP begins with the upbringing of a boy and girl. They live in two different worlds. We have Ysabelle Telle, a child who really had no one looking after her. She lived in the ghetto with a mother who only had her for the welfare check the state provided. A mother who did not care about her or her wellbeing. Ysa ran away from home and ended up in Miami at the young age of 16. Her story broke my heart. Children only want to love and be loved and she received nothing from her mother.
Some of the choices she made were disappointing. BUT again in life we make decisions and whether they are good or bad you learn from the experience. In the end I really liked who Ysa became. I loved that she came to terms with everything she went through and eventually learned to be happy.
Sebastian Vanwell had everything he could ever ask for, a loving family, a best friend Julie (Babygirl) who he ends up marrying. He would do anything for his Babygirl and because of this some of his choices pissed me off! WOW, there were things this man did that had me shocked.
Ysa works for VIP as an escort and while at an event she bumps into Sebastian, literally. And from that moment Sebastian is hooked. But he’s happily married?
The events that take place after they meet though wrong I found to be realistic, Robinson did a wonderful job! No woman wants to be cheated on or be a mistress and most men who find themselves is such a predicament are either greedy bastards or don’t know what they want. Someone always gets hurt but being honest with yourself and everyone involved allows all parties to move on.
I enjoyed the writing style. Robinson really got down deep and I felt that how the plot played out showed that she understands how and why act and react the way they do. The emotions I felt from reading this book was unreal.

I do not consider myself an emotional person and I am not one to cry but after buying it and hearing how some people responded to it I prepared myself with a box of tissues just in case.
Living Again was OMG such an emotional rollercoaster and though I did get teary eyed there were no waterworks. What can I say, I’m weird that way! ;)
So here’s a bit about the characters…
Kayley Carson’s life was nothing but perfect. Supportive family, cute home, a job she loves, amazing husband and a baby on the way. Who could ask for more? Now this isn’t giving anything away because as it says in the synopsis “Then one day, her life changes forever when she loses her husband in a tragic accident.” <-- This was a tough part to read. WOW the way Collins wrote the devastation Kayley was feeling was that of perfection! I really did feel like I was the one going through the loss. To think that her unborn child will never meet his/her wonderful father was heart shattering! After the accident she goes through the motions of life the best she can but she doesn’t really live. All she can do is try her best to raise little Alexis the best way she can.
Her life once again is about to change, but will she be receptive to these changes and “Live Again?”
On Alexis’ first birthday Kayley finds herself rushing to the same hospital where her husband passed. She and her entire family were scared out of her minds because Alexis has had a seizure. This scene was intense, I was getting palpitations! The fear that Kayley feels jumps off the pages. But Lex turns out to be fine and is kept overnight just for observation.
Then we meet Dr. Ben Nichols… because while in the ER Kaylee never really noticed him she was that freaked out. But once they meet eyes there is no way to deny the instant connection. And the love story beings!!
Living Again was such an amazing story. When you think you’ve met your soul mate and he’s ripped from your life unexpectedly one can’t help to think life is over. But then again there are no guarantee’s in life. As in real life there are so many ups and downs. There are tears of heartache and tears of joy. There are moments of doubt and moments of certainty.
This is where I stop with the details. In my opinion this is a must read love story and if I keep writing I’m going to give it all away! L.L. Collins congratulations on such an amazing debut novel!! I cannot wait to see what comes next!
