I find myself using the "look up" feature on my Nook much more when reading this series.
I am enjoying finally reading the whole series in order and one right after the other after not having been able to do so before. The story of Emma Harte and the legacy she left behind is touching and enthralling and soon you wish that you were a part of her family.(less)

He seemed to just write off his second child and revolved his whole world around Janni. That bugged me. I do however admire his determination to get help for her and to build as much of a normal life for her as he could. This was an emotional and touching story.(less)

As someone who has worked as a personal chef I could relate to the the idiosyncrasies of other families and the way in which someone who works in their home gets to see them. I really loved how that was portrayed. Because in ways you feel like they are your friends (mostly) or even some extended dysfunctional part of your extended family. But really, you are just the hired help.
